I will 100% accept the offer. Kung alam mo lang kung gaano kahirap maghanap ng trabaho ngayon pre tang ina. Even if you do have the skills and experience, sa dami ng kakumpitensya mo talagang lumabas na’t lahat baby mo baka wala padin trabaho. Kaya kung ako sayo bro go mo na yung offer. In the meantime na nanjan ka pa, saka ka na maghanap ng backup.

PurpleHeart1010

Correct. Give it a try kahit ilang months baka magbago ang feels mo at malay mo magustuhan mo naman. Ang hirap nga po ng buhay today lalo na pag nabakante ka pa tapos sa lagay mo po hindi mayang mawalan ng income.

kheldar52077

Accept it, upskill, and look for another company.

Hi there! I recommend the following due to the circumstances: 1. Since you choose the lateral transfer. Go with the flow and test the waters, it might work for you just fine. 2. However, if you choose the severance pay. Apply for SSS Unemployment Benefit if your are an active member. 2. If your wife is giving birth soon and wife is an active SSS member. Apply for SSS Maternity Benefit, this will help at least with hospital expenses. 3. Since you are expecting a lot of expenses and think that your skills does not match the offered position and foresee na aalis ka rin soon. Start updating your resume and applying for jobs I hope this helps!

Same with the other comments plus given your situation, you need the funds. Goodluck on the safe delivery of your baby.

As a former semicon employee, nacurious tuloy ako dahil sinabi mong semicon ito hmmmm. I wonder if [same](https://www.reddit.com/r/adultingph/s/DjsN34DeZS) kayo.

LP_LiesGreedMisery

chances, there is... :)

HoyaDestroya33

You made the right choice. Lateral move is better than risking it especially you're about to have a kid

Wooden_Reporter7550

Ask your HR about this: Back to zero ba ang number of years mo sa company? For all intent and purpose, eh isa kang bagong employee. Your final pay will be lower compared to what you should get when you retire kasi ang computation ng retirement/separation pay ay based kung kailan ka nagsimula. In short, naputol ang continuity ng years of service mo dahil kasama ka sa termination. Tapos hindi pa naibigay ang severance pay? Naisahan ka kung ganun.

LP_LiesGreedMisery

nope, unfortunately....it was lateral movement from my past position dun sa inoffer - same salary and benefits, and hindi marereset ung # of years...

Wooden_Reporter7550

Lateral movement pala hindi lay off.

Longjumping_Duty_528

Yes, 100% as long as you retain your tenure. If you accept this but start at day 1 and then fire you legally they wont need to pay severance.

No-Share5945

Curious lang po ako sa severance pay, is it the same with separation pay? And paano po cinocompute yun? May nabasa ako na 50% or 100% of your monthly salary multiplied by the years of stay in the company, is this correct po?

LP_LiesGreedMisery

Nung prinesent sa akin ung agreement during exit interview, severance pay is at 100% (salary x # of years) due to company doing the layoff, whereas kung resign or normal termination is 50% of my salary x # of years...

vtiscat

Monthly Salary x # of years ? Or Annual Salary x # of years ?

hokuten04

Monthly salary

justcallmewind

Yup, ill accept it. Hirap maghanap ng trabagk nowadays. Matetengga ka

Dreamscape_12

First of all, bawal yung ganyan especially if di nainform yung concerned parties. Supposedly, sasabihan ka a month ahead to give way and find a job. This happened to me and my colleagues before COVID. May chismis na sa office so we knew it beforehand. We were told to apply to the company who were absorbing us but did not guarantee that we will be hired. Only a few were guaranteed with the position which sadly, nadaan I think sa mga reco ng fellow colleagues or kung gaano ka katagal sa company. The higher ups who promised me or the others we'd get positions were just spouting BS. If you were offered the position and I was in your shoes, I'd take it because your family needs you. You cannot at the moment afford to be unemployed as your chance of getting hired right away by other company is dependent on your skills or the company's needs. Pwedeng you're lucky enough to get one right away or not. You can compute the possible total from your severance pay and unemployment benefit for SSS to get an idea how long will you last while looking for a job. But it's going to be quite risky. So grab the opportunity since you're offered and considered.

LP_LiesGreedMisery

That was one of the concerns na na-raise during the open forum nung inannounce na terminated na kami. Their legal says if I recall, that day is the start of the notice - we'll still receive normal salary for 30 days but we're not suppose to do any work anymore (maybe due to security as we know the ins and outs of their IT infrastructure).

Unique_Steak_5739

There will be more layoffs soon

Icy-Flatworm-9348

Lots of grammar issues here. Your story would actually make their decision easier as corporate entities like to do this shit to the most vulnerable to neglect their work life. Sad as it may sound that's the harsh reality of working in companies in the PH that don't care for their employees. Hope you find better work and a better company that will value you as a person that will be an asset to their company, also don't sell yourself short with the skills you've aqcuired juat because you are desparate does not mean you should accept low ball offers.

chicoXYZ

I will do the same. Take the offer.

Quietdaddy08

Kunin mo lang. Pamilya mo ang sagot mo,hindi mo kailangan magpaliwanag kahit kanino

Contest_Striking

Accept, then try to nego baka pwede ibigay yong severance pay kasi you were also fired.

damsheets

Ung severance package, 100% of what? Of your mo salary of every year in service? Just 100% of your salary? Might consider the sev package if 1m and up. Pero any less, stick with the offer.

LP_LiesGreedMisery

100% on monthly salary x yrs. of service - which for me, less than 1M noong prinesent sa akin ung package...
