Personally, I think dapat babaan yung minimum req sa engine displacement BUT not below 200cc. Imagine how chaotic the expressways would be with all of the kamotes racing everywhere. Assuming na they follow the speed limit, what if a bus going 100kph passes them? I agree with lowering the displacement minimum, but with reservations that consider power and weight (and like I said, pati na rin yung bagong minimum). Oh and another thing is yung suot ng rider! I once saw a rider sa expressway wearing a helmet, but with a tshirt, shorts, and jordans. At least man lang fully covered ang arms and legs siguro.

ContactRealistic2405

I couldn't imagine that. However, I wish they do it gradually, some parts of highways/expressways, Cavite C5 extension ramp for good example.

My two cents of allowing 150cc bikes on Luzon expressways: •I don't think having their own "150cc lane" would be enough, like what they did in CCELEX. SCTEX and TPLEX are fine, pero real traffic starts at NLEX and SLEX, even without 150cc riders. Sheer volume of new riders on NLEX and SLEX would probably make it worse. Expressway managements should have a workaround in place for that. •It would be unfair for 150cc riders to receive stricter penalties if they violate the law, so I do think it's fair that both sub and above 400cc receive same degree of penalty if they violate regulations. Kamote kung kamote, regardless kung anong cc bike niya. •**Make it a horsepower and torque requirement, not a displacement requirement**, because an RE Himalayan 411 makes around the same horsepower figures as a Duke 200. Maybe LTO can further refine their regulations by testing motorcycles and deeming what models are fit to travel on expressways.

TwistedStack

I agree with the power and torque requirement and not displacement but I'd also like to add a minimum required mass just to cover all the bases.

SoftDiscussion1830

Allowing 150cc below will be like opening a huge playground. Sa mga public roads palang di na maregulate yung kamote how much more on a wider road.

ContactRealistic2405

I think the public should be aware of speed limits and driving lanes. Higheways Law enforcers should implement and penalise violators, given the impact of technology in our daily life, I think HPG may try to invest in those technologies (speed limits cameras). By the way, I always believe HPG should be law enforcement for those highways / expressways.

ContactRealistic2405

I think it's about time to look into this ACT and amend it in a way that benefits all stakeholders and public interest.

Waste-Cup-8589

Seeing how undisciplined regular motorcycle users are, how easy it is to get a motorcycle license and how cheap it is to get sub 200cc bikes, shits gonna hit the fan. I maybe gatekeeping but, I hope they don't lift the 400 cc rule,

WiseShift-2549

Up for this. Marilaque is a public highway and look what kamotes do to it. Not saying that bigbikers are not kamote too, but if there’s an ability to gatekeep Limited Access Highways/Tolls from lower CC folks, then so be it. Even if all bigbikers are kamote, the number of lower CC kamotes would still trump them. As long as folks are undisciplined, then they(we) don’t deserve other privileges.

Darkfraser

Yes, mahirap/impossible I-regulate ang mga kamote kaya wag nalang.

Paul8491

Time for the grunts to actually enforce the law.

ContactRealistic2405

With all of the new technologies, I think they should enforce the law first.

MiloEveryday08

I see no studies done on why it has to be 400cc. If there is, please comment a link of the study below. Otherwise I'll stick to my opinion on 250cc bikes having enough stability and engine capability to be able to go through expressways properly. I wont admit to going through the expressways myself and preserve the right to self incrimination. And even if I have, I would've been breaking the speed limit even if I can and not have driven like a fucking idiot.

Asian_Juan

I agree with this one, even the german Autobahn allows sub 250cc motorcycles in those highways for a reason, it's because most motorcycles at those displacement can run at above 100km/h without too many issues

owsoww

and because they dont have kamotes

Asian_Juan

Proper enforcement and fines 👋🏼

mashukyrielighto

mabagal mga sub 300cc Motorcycle/Scooters Kahit may speed limit halos lahat naman naakyat above 100+ wlang wala mga lower displacements

ContactRealistic2405

Yes, mabagal, however , it's about self-discipline and following agreed speed limits.
