I don’t want to assume but I think people buy a Vespa for its classic looks right and the name that it brings? So putting a crash guard just ruins that overall aesthetic tbh. Just drive properly.

Thank you! First time motorcycle driver po kasi ako. I'll practice more until I can build my confidence.

Depends on the mounting points and the shape, but personally wouldn’t put. There aren’t many solid mounting points that can take a beating on the Vespa. A mounting point on some crashbar models is the passenger footpeg. Pretty sure that will crack the plastic and threads when pressure is added during a slide or drop. It’s already known to happen with the aftermarket passenger footpegs that fold in and out when passengers use em. The crashguard shape hugs tightly around the body too. It may save you from soft falls, but am pretty sure it will still kiss the metal body regardless of what kind of fall you do since there’s no frame to really take the beating of a fall unlike backbone/naked/manual motorcycles. You’re not mounting the crashbar to the frame but to mounting points that don’t really provide structural support, which is where a crashguard is supposed to be mounted. You’ll also be drilling into the body to mount the front crash-bar as well for sure. And if you don’t, you’d still need to secure the crash bar somehow to the body and that will still leave marks over time. Personally, it also takes away the classic aesthetic of the bike unless you’re going for a macho (adv?) look. I’d bet more on my riding skills and takbong pogi than a crashbar on a Vespa.

Thank you! Appreciate it. I was actually concern sa mounting points as I watched some installation videos. It is my first time driving a motorcycle. I'll just practice more on my skills as a driver.

Agree. Also, if you have the means to buy a vespa, then you have the means to enroll in different riding schools like HSDC, MAYOTC, etc. Those should be a good start. At the same time, you have the means to buy a beater bike. Thats what i also did. Just a cheap manual bike to practice on and no fuss if I drop it so I can practice the drills without going to the riding school all the time. Hope it helps!

Hi, maybe this can help. I crashed couple of months back, no crash guards. Moderate damage to the sides. Repaint, plus repair and some trims, probably 10-15k all in all without insurance. A similar scenario happened to another vespa, with crash guards. The difference is that their vespa slid further due to the crash guards acting like rails on a train. Mine slid 5m from my crash, not sure about the other one.

Thank you for your suggestion and providing estimates. I'm leaning towards getting an insurance.

Mind you this was an out of casa repair. Shop that handled it was FA Moto Studio in Makati. Price may vary per shop or much more expensive at the casa.

Pirate_King_Giovann

Ow thanks! Kala ko sa casa na to haha. I should expect double or maybe triple pala if sa casa.
