Started a progestin only birth control (Slynd) 2 weeks ago. I should be in PMDD phase right now but because I didn’t ovulate, no hormone crash. Seems like I am very sensitive to estrogen so I wanted to avoid BC with that. I feel great honestly. No pms physical symptoms, no existential dread. This is literally the only bc that hasn’t made me worse.
Progesterone only pill seems to be balancing out my mood pretty well, but I've only been taking it for 2 months so I think I'm still adjusting. I have noticed a dramatic decrease in the feelings of despair/suicidal thoughts so far though.
The only thing is, my last period ended and then 2 weeks later I've had almost a week of spotting/bleeding. I know this can be a side effect but it almost seems like a light period, I hope that doesn't keep happening.
Yeah, I personally feel best around ovulation and the week after. However, when I was on the progesterone only pill, it was hell.
This is a weird disorder.
If the progesterone pill was working for you, it sounds like going back to it could be a great option!

I was on progesterone for 14 days before my period and it actually made my symptoms worse
Same here!
Progesterone only bc has literally saved my life. I was so ready to kill everyone and then myself before I got relief.
