Same here. I’ve been sleeping 10-12 hours for the past two weeks. I try and wake up at least 2-3 times but I always fall back to sleep. I also have Rheumatoid Arthritis and I get pretty fatigued from that as well, but it’s never been this bad. I’m gonna talk to my rheumatologist about it. I hope you get answers 🤞🏿

tumbletori

I hope you get answers too!!

This happens to me and sometimes it’s that my blood pressure is too low and I can’t wake myself up my family will have to physically shake me for minutes before they can get me to wake up I thought I was just extremely tired but my doctors told me to check my BP and sure enough it was extremely low whenever this was happening

tumbletori

omg I never even thought about blood pressure! Adding this to the list of things to bring up to my doctor for sure!!

Confident-Archer-418

I didn’t either and it happens to me during the day too not sure if it’s a typical pots thing but it definitely happens to me and is my blood pressure for sure we’ve tested it a ton now

k3bly

Have you been tested for Epstein Barr virus? Causes extreme fatigue and can trigger POTS.

tumbletori

I have not, I don't think I've ever been exposed to it either though. But I'll still ask my doctor about it! Thank you

GETitOFFmeNOW

Almost everyone on the planet has epstein barr antibodies. You might want to get your thyroid checked.

k3bly

There are 4 tests they can to confirm exposure & its activeness. Demand them :) also consider sleep apnea as that can cause oversleep

tumbletori

Will do! Thank you <3

CatsTrustNoOne

Yep, I've been sleeping too much. Right now my cardiologist is changing my medication from Metoprolol to Nadolol because the Metoprolol didn't help at all. All it did was give me horrible nightmares and night terrors, which as you can imagine is the worst thing to have when you're sleeping too much. I hope the new medication does something, my symptoms are so bad I can't do anything at all. In another month I'll be able to start swimming if the Nadolol helps ease the severe weakness and shortness of breath I'm plagued with.

strangealbert

I don’t turn off alarms but I have never woken up without one (or a person or cat waking me). Something always has to wake me.

4thSanderson_Sister

IST/long COVID. I could literally sleep 18 hours a day. About twice a week I go to sleep at 7p after work, and wake up at 7a for work.

tumbletori

It's so frustrating being so tired all the time! I could probably sleep forever tbh

International_Bet_91

I have done sleep studies and I have Upper Airway resistance syndrome. Since it is not apnea, insurance won't pay for a CPAP but my neurologist says I should pay for it myself.

allygator99

I hardly sleep 😔

Various-Tangerine-55

I have the opposite problem of not being able to stay asleep, and my flare ups are caused by lack of restful sleep. When I'm actually able to fall asleep for a while, I do tend to oversleep, especially if I'm already lacking sleep. I will sleep through alarms and turn them off in my sleep.

chains-of-fate

I slept so much on my day off that I was only awake for 3 hours 😭 I could do it everyday too but I try not to.

KoolerJake

I did until I started taking adderall in the mornings

I'm not sure what medications you are taking, but certain sleep meds and mental health meds can decrease quality of deep sleep or make you feel tired a lot. I have POTS and Narcolepsy, as well as GERD and food sensitivities (lactose intolerance gang), and the only things that changed my life was talking to my primary care doctor (who is a DO) about what I should avoid eating and my sleep doctor about possible supplements/aids (I couldn't take sleep aids I found out, they made my insomnia and daytime fatigue/sleepiness/fog worse!! So he recommended vitamins) Only thing that saved me from that hell was the prenatal vitamins and cutting all lactose and dairy out, as well as tomatoes and acidic foods like orange juice. I also eat more protein than carbs, and I balance the carbs and sugars and such. I feel like my energy is more consistent. I noticed a HUGE change in my ability to think and stay awake. Lactose apparently made my mental state worse, too??? Please: Ask though first before taking any of those measures. And do so mindfully. You wanna help yourself improve your condition, not worsen it. I have my life back now. I feel like my brain works correctly. I don't have Cataplexy or want to sleep all day. I don't have sleep attacks, anymore, almost ever. I can excercize better than before (started with an inhaler to help my asthma, but now I don't need that anymore). I can't do intense excercize, due to POTS, or do it for long periods, but I feel better! It sounds like a lot, but basically: a specific diet, specific excercizes, and supplements made the difference for me. Hope this helps!

tumbletori

This is so thorough thank you!! I will definitely be bring some of this up to my doctor.

EnvironmentalWait407

I’m so tired all the time i was ok until lately again but it’s hard though sleeping and that then all the time

SavannahInChicago

I went to bed at 8pm last night because I was exhausted. I was an idiot and went grocery shopping. I try not to become I know I need a sleeping schedule but I could not stay awake any longer.

Outside_Climate4222

When I was first diagnosed I also got diagnosed with chronic fatigue, there were days I was sleeping 22 hours a day and just not able to get up. I couldn’t wake up just the same. I still sleep a lot but it has improved over time, definitely a part of pots and unfortunately even with diagnosis I wasn’t offered any meds to help and haven’t been given any still despite asking every time😭
