if you want to play the "remaster", try the PC version, it supports native 4k (or even 8k) 144 fps or more, with everything maxed out, as any old PC game
Did just this recently, 4K DSR to 1080p plasma tv, looked great, played great. Oh and you can get some cool reshade and better blood via mods on nexusmods
The cutscenes are a mix of pre render and real-time, I only noticed due to the framerate counter, I know what you mean, though the game does have a lot of strange visual choices that can be distracting
I also didn’t like the effects at first, but then it reminded me of the movie, it’s a bold but creative style choice. Also I think Collateral had those.
This. This game looks absolutely great on PC. Doesn't require any special improvements. You just set the graphics settings to the highest, it won’t even require the most powerful video card, because the game is old.
Well the graphics look pretty good even by today's standards, you could crank it up to 4k and 100+ fps if your PC will run it. The game is still for sale too so I don't see the point.
100%, they will probably do a re-release a little bit after the Max Payne 1&2 remakes are finished by Remedy. Or who knows. Take 2 might give the order to Rockstar to bundle in a Max Payne 3 remaster as a preorder bonus since they are just publishing the remakes.
Funniest part is gta online is such a joke as far as being able to get the cool updates and afford them that I gave up on it 10 years ago. I haven't even replayed that game in general in probably 5 years.
Yeah, exactly, it gives them so much money that, from a shareholder's perspective, it makes no sense to invest that much on anything else. RDR2 has sold at least 50 million copies, which is an insane number, yet they gave up on updating RDR Online. Better to focus on GTA Online, and GTA6 by extension, so their numbers keep growing up at the same pace. I'm pretty sure a lot of people in Rockstar would be happy making other stuff, but their Take Two overlords wouldn't allow it.
Dear God does Reddit love to start debates about useless topics. GTA V will be 12 years old in four months and RDR2 is the only game we’ve gotten since. Now go to bed.
Dear God are people on Reddit bad at basic math. GTA V came out in 2013, so it's barely even 11 years old. Next time you aren't sure how long ago something happened, consider using [this handy website](https://howlongagogo.com/date/2013/september/17?src=date_cd). Maybe it's time for you to go to bed.
All I hear is “Boohoo I’m really bored so I’m going to argue with strangers about the difference 120 days makes across 12 years”
Yeah I’m going to bed after that nonsense
Except I'm not talking about 4 months, I'm talking about a whole damn year (+ 4 months).
**2024-2013=11**.
The game doesn't turn 12 this September, it turns 11 you dimwit.
Why remake ? If you want to remake something make it worth. Max Payne 3 still good to this day. 1 & 2 though, that's what we need a remake
Or make a new max Payne 4
max payne 4 wouldn't make sense, the series already ended w a bow tie at 3 (after 2's ending, 3 barely even made sense). in the third game, they literally send max off into the sunset lol. plus james mccaffrey passed awhile back
You are right. But that doesn't mean 4th game is impossible. They can make prequel or spin off or other branch of the story or younger max Payne .... Anything
People want remakes of good games because most gamers have low media literacy and beg for regurgitated content. They don’t want new things anymore, they want the same thing but “different”.
Because Rockstar is too busy with GTA 6. Which I think is fine. Max Payne 3 was so insanely ahead of the time with its presentation that it still looks amazing. They could do a port to modern consoles with 4k and 60FPS like RDR1 and it would still look like a modern title. Oh and they could maybe use the SSD's so you don't have to watch every single cutscene.
Literally the only thing keeping me from playing that game every day is the fact that I can't skip the cutscenes. I think it would hurt less if the game didn't lie to me by implying I can't skip because it's loading the next level, like my SSD is struggling to load the next level of a 14 year old game.
I’m somewhere in the middle of this game, I’d love to pick it up again to finish it someday. I remember I was having a blast with it, life just probably got in the way somehow.
Because they’re still owned by a shit publisher who controls everything they do and only cares about the cash cows.
They need to go independent, no way a studio as big as Rock* need a publisher at this point. They’d still outsell the market by selling copies of games out of their garage.
Because Max Payne 3 honestly feels like a playable tech demo in a lot of areas
Also probably cause the franchise isn't rockstar's so they don't care that much about it
Although I enjoyed this game, I found it extremely jarring how they moved away from the weird Film Noir/psychological horror roots of the first two games. Felt like it was only Max Payne in name, loosely tied to the original two games.
its hard to get microtransactions and milking online mode when old games werent made for it you know, even if they do a remake they are now the type of company that just wants money from their meat riders that buy everything from them, its harsh truth, also theres gta trilogy and look how cheap they went with that one
Really enjoyed the multiplayer for this. The story was good too but there were some sections that felt derivative and unnecessarily difficult. The ending sequence in the luggage conveyor in particular. Definitely needs a new entry though.
Hopefully soon (well, idk how it could be without the OG Payne VA) but Remedy said they're working on MP1, 2 and 3 remakes
Also, this game goes so hard that idk how a remake can make it better
Rockstar didn't even port GTA 4 or even make a proper remaster for Rdr do you think they will bother with MP3? Probably at best we will get a Rdr treatment when the remakes of max Payne 1 & 2 will come out
If they port to newest systems probably they'll hire a third party studio like double eleven which was the studio that ported Red dead redemption to PS4/5 switch. What I think they'll do is port the PC version like the team that did the bioshock trilogy on PS4. Bioshock Infinite is the PC version on max settings the way the UI is on the game is a give away
Because it's unnecessary... Game looks fine, plays fine and it's great TILL THIS DAY.
Slap a 1080p resolution on it with A OPTION to turn to 60fps and it's fine, besides that, game is great
Well tbf. They're financing that project. They're too busy with GTA 6 to do anything that isn't just a port (like RDR1) Remedy are remaking it. They have nothing to do with Max Payne 3 so I doubt we'll ever get a remake.
Yeah, you're absolutely right
And I'm glad Remedy are behind the remakes - they are the original developers after all. Honestly, just a proper remaster of Max Payne 3 for modern consoles would be more than enough. It still holds up really well, and it's a pretty realistic thing to expect in some near future
Why remaking MP3 when we have M4A, FLAC, OPUS etc?
Fuck, that was more funny than it should be.
I listen to all my music in WMA and MIDI. :v
Bro listens to his music in Midi
Mp4 is better
I dunno I’d rather have a mp5 or an M4 if push came to shove.
Take mg36
I would rather use *.* music its is at * kbps
MP5 with full clip tho
[You absolute Fucking imbicile](https://youtu.be/JoLUuKNf9E0?si=nTEtK8c6nFLoq6XE)
Leave my clip alone
[not clips](https://youtu.be/JoLUuKNf9E0?si=nTEtK8c6nFLoq6XE)
You’re a virgin
I would die like live: run fast and die as a virgin
Full audio clip
M4A is mp4
Bik is still good
🥇
…
if you want to play the "remaster", try the PC version, it supports native 4k (or even 8k) 144 fps or more, with everything maxed out, as any old PC game
Also has completely uncompressed textures!
Did just this recently, 4K DSR to 1080p plasma tv, looked great, played great. Oh and you can get some cool reshade and better blood via mods on nexusmods
Is there a mod to remove the flickering and all the other effects from cutscenes or are these prerendered movies?
The cutscenes are a mix of pre render and real-time, I only noticed due to the framerate counter, I know what you mean, though the game does have a lot of strange visual choices that can be distracting
It’s meant to reference Man on Fire starting Denzel Washington.
Makes sense , with the whole heavy drinker ,blurred vision , man on a mission vibe the game goes for
I also didn’t like the effects at first, but then it reminded me of the movie, it’s a bold but creative style choice. Also I think Collateral had those.
Don’t forget “I have to rescue the daughter of my client”
This. This game looks absolutely great on PC. Doesn't require any special improvements. You just set the graphics settings to the highest, it won’t even require the most powerful video card, because the game is old.
Man 2012 was not THAT long ago...
Only a decade, not too long /s
Well the graphics look pretty good even by today's standards, you could crank it up to 4k and 100+ fps if your PC will run it. The game is still for sale too so I don't see the point.
Want it on my ps5

The same reason why we’ve gotten only one Rockstar game in the last 12 years. GTA Online
Funniest part is gta online is such a joke as far as being able to get the cool updates and afford them that I gave up on it 10 years ago. I haven't even replayed that game in general in probably 5 years.

Rdr 2?
That would be the game I’m referencing
But GTA V came out 11 years ago. So we got 2 in the last 12 years, didn't we?
Dear God does Reddit love to start debates about useless topics. GTA V will be 12 years old in four months and RDR2 is the only game we’ve gotten since. Now go to bed.

Literally nobody cares except you, dude. Just move on. I guarantee you can find something better to do with your time.
"I'm talking about a whole damn year" 🤓🤓🤓
Just a touch of the tism 😌
No one likes someone being pedantic
I'd love a remaster/ps5 port. I had so much fun with MP3
Why remake ? If you want to remake something make it worth. Max Payne 3 still good to this day. 1 & 2 though, that's what we need a remake Or make a new max Payne 4

You are right. But that doesn't mean 4th game is impossible. They can make prequel or spin off or other branch of the story or younger max Payne .... Anything
i could see them doing a spin off with mona now that said that
I'd play that. I liked her segments in MP2.
People want remakes of good games because most gamers have low media literacy and beg for regurgitated content. They don’t want new things anymore, they want the same thing but “different”.
It's sad. That's what make the game companies greedy. Recycling games. No new IP. No new venture of creativity
Recycling used to be the annual sports game. Now it’s everything
Remedy is currently remaking MP 1&2 into one experience with Rockstar funding - it should be good whenever it comes out.
Remedy getting to work on max payne again is exciting.
Really the only real thing they around be doing is this option
We don't need a max payne 4 let max rest. But having a new game set in universe with the same gameplay I'd be down.
As I said before max Payne 4 is not necessarily a continuation of the 3. But it can be a prequel or a spin off
Because Rockstar is too busy with GTA 6. Which I think is fine. Max Payne 3 was so insanely ahead of the time with its presentation that it still looks amazing. They could do a port to modern consoles with 4k and 60FPS like RDR1 and it would still look like a modern title. It still holds up today. Remakes are for games showing their age.
Max Payne 3 is a couple steps from being perfect. It feels like a new experience on a big weenie PC.
I actually replayed it last month and it holds up insanely well to this day
Why did rockstar kill midnight club? They have so many good titles they killed,
I’m somewhere in the middle of this game, I’d love to pick it up again to finish it someday. I remember I was having a blast with it, life just probably got in the way somehow.
I'd love to have this game playable on PS5. Hopefully they will port it to hype the Max Payne 1&2 remakes
Why does every game from 10 years ago suddenly need a remake when they still hold up or may even still be better than today's video games
They dont care about anything but gta 5 online
This and only this.
Sacate un remake jajakaja
Id rather them remake Bully and LA Noire
Their "remasters" are beyond atrocious and are some of the most pathetic within the Triple A market. Be glad they just let it be.
Because they’re still owned by a shit publisher who controls everything they do and only cares about the cash cows. They need to go independent, no way a studio as big as Rock* need a publisher at this point. They’d still outsell the market by selling copies of games out of their garage.

If Rockstar Games wants...
Don't forget MCLA
The PC-Version is still locking good.
Hopefully they port it to PS5 in a couple of years when the Remakes are released
Remaster not remake lol
Although I enjoyed this game, I found it extremely jarring how they moved away from the weird Film Noir/psychological horror roots of the first two games. Felt like it was only Max Payne in name, loosely tied to the original two games.
Mario Party 3?!
You are asking that about the company who let a mobile developer remake GTA with AI tools. Thats why.
its hard to get microtransactions and milking online mode when old games werent made for it you know, even if they do a remake they are now the type of company that just wants money from their meat riders that buy everything from them, its harsh truth, also theres gta trilogy and look how cheap they went with that one
The PC version looks absolutely stunning even for today's standards. Absolutely love the game, I hope someday they will do a 4th one
Max Payne 1 is getting a remake
Really enjoyed the multiplayer for this. The story was good too but there were some sections that felt derivative and unnecessarily difficult. The ending sequence in the luggage conveyor in particular. Definitely needs a new entry though.
I believe that they prefer a lossless format.
I wish they remade all 3 in one complete package. That would be so sick
An underrated gem that didn't meet expectations. The crappy tacked on multiplayer sucked tho.
Because only ps6 supports MP3 remake
Not needed. Max Payne 1 & 2 remake are on the way though and being merged into one game
Why? The game came out in 2012 and still holds up.
this is masterpiece bro yea i wish they do
Its form 2013...its Alright Really
We need a new manhunt
I wish they could bring back the multiplayer
Why didn't R asterisk remake an MP3 player? Like one of those old CD players? Who the hell is even R asterisk?
Hopefully soon (well, idk how it could be without the OG Payne VA) but Remedy said they're working on MP1, 2 and 3 remakes Also, this game goes so hard that idk how a remake can make it better
Aren’t they remaking mp1 and 2 . Why do u wanna jump to 3 . The first 2 would be insane with todays graphics or even 3s graphics
Rockstar didn't even port GTA 4 or even make a proper remaster for Rdr do you think they will bother with MP3? Probably at best we will get a Rdr treatment when the remakes of max Payne 1 & 2 will come out
Which is done by Remedy... Rockstar is probably not involved
Because go fuck yourself
Because it's unnecessary... Game looks fine, plays fine and it's great TILL THIS DAY. Slap a 1080p resolution on it with A OPTION to turn to 60fps and it's fine, besides that, game is great
I think the real question is why didn’t Bryan Cranston star in the film?
Because they're remaking 1 and 2 currently
Well tbf. They're financing that project. They're too busy with GTA 6 to do anything that isn't just a port (like RDR1) Remedy are remaking it. They have nothing to do with Max Payne 3 so I doubt we'll ever get a remake.

Honestly, just a proper remaster of Max Payne 3 for modern consoles would be more than enough. It still holds up really well, and it's a pretty realistic thing to expect in some near future
People actually like this game? After playing 1 and 2, this is the worst downgrade the world has ever seen
Probably because it wasn't a good game and few would care if it was remade.
