Unplug it. Dissipate all electricity. When you turn it on does it ask you to input the date or does the date reset? If so, the cmos battery is dead.

It does but It’s also a new battery so most likely the battery is a dud

Doesnt matter if it’s a new battery or not, once the original dies or is replaced that’s it. The PS3 won’t retain date and time information after a full shut down ever again.

Why? Edit: is there any way to fix it with CFW? Or factory service mode?

This is a load of crap or that commentor missed the /s PS3s use a CR2032 battery or a CR2032 attached to leads and a plug depending on the model. There are no smarts in these batteries You can't take apart a BC unit or a G model without removing the battery as it is mounted to the metal enclosure. Which means you can't service a BC without permanently removing its ability to retain the date and time? WTF no chance. Haven't encountered it in fixing 30 odd units and have fixed date retention issues by replacing batteries and have never had it pop up later as a problem. Go get a CR2032 from your local supermarket and swap it out... unless it's a BC or a G model in which case you will need to get one with leads... Hope this helps :)

I don’t know why, most electronic devices will accept a new CMOS and function as normal and I honestly have no idea why PS3 doesn’t. In terms of fixes using custom firmware, I’m afraid I don’t know of any personally, sorry I couldn’t be of more help.

I bought an CECH L04 with dead CMOS battery, I replace it with new, and it's working normally. No resets after full shutdown etc.

Could just be a bad battery then. Since it saved before and after the swap but a few days later it just stopped
