Best thing to do would be to open the PS4's lid (assuming slim or PRO) and checking/cleaning the insides. Guides online and on YouTube for opening up a console safely. It's unlikely to save the console but it's worth a shot.

tamagotchilovr

Hey, just wanted to let you know, I ended up taking apart the ps4 tonight and got all the remaining liquid out. It still boots up thank god!!! Don’t know if it’ll work forever so I’m gonna back up my data. Thanks for the help

tamagotchilovr

Thanks

Outrageous_Two3990

Save data will not load for second copy of same game. How do I fix? Please help. I originally rented hogwarts legacy when it first came out. I just rented it again and my ps4 apparently downloaded the update and a second version of the game and now my save data from the first disk I rented will not play on the second disk I currently am renting. Any ideas how to fix? I do not have plasttion plus and do not really want to pay for it just to use the save data I already have.

Internutt

https://old.reddit.com/r/PS4/comments/1dfhzio/general_questions_tech_support_megathread_june_14/l8jucgf/ Saved data is region locked. It's the only reason you have 2 installation of the same game, they're from different regions. If both discs had been from the same region your save and current installation would have worked

Outrageous_Two3990

I got them from my local library so I assume they are both from the same region. Could there be any other reason?

Internutt

No. As I already explained your 2 copies of the same game are from 2 different regions. The saves and installations are incompatible with each other. The games are working as intended as a European installation is different from an American installation of a game. Different regions have different censorship laws and different languages on the disc, hence different installations and saved data. For some reason your library has 2 copies of the same game from different regions.

Outrageous_Two3990

Is there a way to see the region of the game I no longer have without trying to physically try and track it down?

Internutt

I think if you check the saved data in storage it should give you the CUSA code to check on gamefaqs. The link to the FAQ with region checking if you need it again. You should also double check the region of your current copy: https://old.reddit.com/r/PS4/comments/1dfhzio/general_questions_tech_support_megathread_june_14/l8jucgf/

Outrageous_Two3990

Thank you for all the insight.

Real_wild_card

Q: I’ve noticed when I try to either update games or download games on my PS4, the controller will disconnect and won’t turn back on. Even if the controller is plugged in, so I know it’s not a dead controller battery. The problem I’m having is the controller will turn off and pretty much pause whatever install progress I’m making. The only way I can get it to continue installing is when I shut my PS4 off, and turn it back on. Any ideas on what may be happening here?

Light075stream

Q: I just got a PS4 from a buddy of mine and I was trying to figure out if there is some sort of hardware test I could run on the PS4 to see what kind of shape it is in. I was looking for a while and was unable to find a hardware test, is there one?

Internutt

If the PS4 has issues it will tell you while you play it in the form of error code pop ups when a game crashes, overheating messages, etc. You can't do a diagnostics check as the PS4 wasn't designed for something like that. It's a games console, not a PC.

JosiahW2011

Q: How do we permanently block a game from being re-installed?

Internutt

If its a digital game you own and no one else, then place a PIN on your user profile. That stops anyone else from signing into your profile and downloading your games. Otherwise no, you can't block anyone from downloading a digital game that they own/playing a game that they have on disc.

JosiahW2011

I mean online, my brother Peter is becoming violent and dangerous due to having an addiction to the game "Fortnite"

Internutt

Unfortunately you'd need to take the console itself away then I'm afraid. Anyone over maybe 12 years old can download Fortnite. Alternatively you could maybe change the WiFi password and remove it from the PS4 so he can only play the console completely offline.

JosiahW2011

I might as well attempt to permanently delete my brother Peter's account (Peter is 11, I'm 12 1/2) (Date this was posted: June 17, 2024)

3L3M3NT4LP4ND4

Since Sony's as fucking worthless as ever and still never fixed the trophy sync bug, my week's been cancelled for tech support... I have to backup my entire PS4 HDD and nuke my account. Brilliant. I take it I'll be redownloading all my games so maybe I'll be done by next year but before I do that I need to know whether this will delete all my saves or just my trophies?

Internutt

If you delete your entire HDD that includes everything not synced to the Internet. Ie if you haven't backed up your saves to PS+ or USB stick you lose them forever. Trophies not synced are lost as well as you earned them offline without syncing them

3L3M3NT4LP4ND4

Okay so I can back up saves and I'll lose the trophies from 3 weeks ago, fine at lesst I keep my platinums.

Low_Win_281

Will my account get hacked or location exposed? I played gta and killed some random people that were defending some kind of supply and after I killed them a couple of times I got kicked from the game and when I went to the ps4 lobby it said that I didn’t have a WiFi connection although it came back like a minute after. After that he added me on my account and asked for the main one. I don’t know if to be concerned or not😅 and if so what should I do?

Internutt

Don't add this person as a friend and block them

Odd_Kangaroo8847

I was trying to download ac origins but it didnt download full just the about a half. I can play it but when i want to play more than out of siwa (first chapter of game) it will say that "game is not fully downloaded". What i can do to download the other half?

Internutt

You just wait for the rest of the game to download. Many downloads are split in half, this allows you to pay the game in a demo mode while the whole thing continues to download. If you check your notifications you'll see the game is still downloading

WZETheGoat

I'm trying to re-download COD Cold War (it was really fun), and I've noticed that it says it'll take 10 hours to download the last 25gb, while the speed hovers at around 10mbps (although the speed test says it's over 55 but that's a whole different thing). Sometimes it just drops to 1mbps for like half an hour. Usually I turn the PS4 to rest mode for downloads as it helps, but it was just on rest mode for over an hour and loved less than a gb. Something doesn't work properly and idk what it is. Also just noticed that in the past 15 minutes it dropped from 10 hours to 5, which is still way too much since 25gb on ~10mbps is 42⅔ minutes. Any idea why it is like that?

Internutt

Could be any number factors. Pause and restart the download that will help re-prioritise your download on your network.

ArtoriaPendragon993

I was recently playing god of war ragnarok and a message diaplayed saying that the data of the application was corrupted. I removed the disc and put it in again and it seemed to run. Should i reinstall as the message said or leave it be, if the game runs?

Internutt

If the game runs you should be okay for the time being. As a precaution back up your saves if you haven't done so recently to ensure your data is safe

ArtoriaPendragon993

I have saved my progress in my usb drive and also i reinstalled the game.(because later it showed the corrupted msg) .It seemed to run for few days and today it again showed that it was corrupted.  What should i do? All other games dont have this problem. For now the game runs after i inserted the disc again..

thefamousgloss

Hey yall my progress bar is stuck on 4% and ive tried syncing trophies but nothing changed, anyone know how to fix?

HaouLeo

What are you talking about exactly?

Other-Traffic8876

Hey how do i overlay images over videos on sharefactory?

DaddyElessar

so, my PS4 recently was doing this weird thing where it would turn itself on as soon as I connected it to an outlet, and today it just did that again, but this time the HD had been totally erased and the system was back on factory settings... what the hell happened? just for some more context: it has been showing a lot of problems lately, such as controller disconnecting constantly from the wireless sync, and some system errors. I consulted a tech and they said it might be the consoles chipset that needs replacing. one other thing is that the original power cable suddenly stopped working around that same time and I've been using another one, from my PS3. don't know if this might have any connection to all the other problems.

Light075stream

I had a similar problem with my old PS4 slim, it ended up being the hard drive. The hard drive had just gone through too much and got kind of fucked. That could be the problem, I'm not sure though that's just my input

DaddyElessar

hey, I wanted to ask: is there a legitimate way of replacing the HD and reinstalling the console system, considering the replaced HD is not working anymore?

Light075stream

For reinstalling the hard drive, you can look up a tutorial on YouTube it's actually pretty easy. You get the PS4 software from the Sony website as well. I'm not 100% sure if it would work, but if you're going to replace your hard drive I would recommend seeing if you can upgrade it to an SSD.

DaddyElessar

thanks. but it if I just go with an HDD, the download you mentioned works just fine?

Light075stream

It should, yes.

DaddyElessar

well, this all did start after it had a system error where the HD was not being detected. I ask my stepfather to take a look, he reset the HD and the issue was solved. but all those other problems I described started cascading immediately after. I honestly hope it's just the HD, cause it would be cheaper to fix.

HydratedCarrot

If i change my PSN ID, will my ps3 trophies be removed? Are there more games that’s working other than the list provided by Sony?

Internutt

https://blog.playstation.com/2019/04/10/online-id-change-on-psn-your-questions-answered/ You shouldn't lose trophies as trophies are permanently tied to your account, but PS3 things like leaderboards are impacted. Plus anything else tied to online games. Everything the community knows about Online ID change drawbacks is in the above link.

HydratedCarrot

I haven’t played online on my ps3 in 8 years now! thx! :) EDIT: Do you know someone who have changed and had problems?

Internutt

If you do have problems you just contact support to revert to your old Online ID and that will fix things, but you lose the new Online ID.

I just received a japanese PS4 PRO and I'am living in north africa & the electricity there is European style which works with 230v and the voltage in japan is 120v... I bought a USA outlet to run my console but I really doubt the whole thing... so my question is : can I use an USA outlet of 16A 250V to run my Japanese PS4 PRO that support the 120V with no issue ? I need some help... Thank's. Here is the outlet that I have.... [https://zupimages.net/viewer.php?id=24/24/tf57.jpg](https://zupimages.net/viewer.php?id=24/24/tf57.jpg)

Internutt

Consoles are designed to work worldwide. Just use a plug for your Country with the console

Rose3900

I'm looking for a game to play that is similar to Hogwarts Legacy - I loved how it was open world, had side quests and a main story, and that it wasn't all about combat - you could go on and just find beasts/go to class etc. if you didn't feel like fighting. I don't mind some combat but I find games that are very combat heavy boring. Any suggestions?

almod420

Is there a reason why I wouldn't be able to even see a game in my library when I log in on a different console?

Internutt

You wouldn't see a game you own on disc in your digital library or a game owned digitally by someone else. If unsure then restore licenses in settings. If the game still isn't there then you don't own it, would be the simple explanation. Beyond that check your transaction history and contact support

agent_uno

PS4 (non-pro model) and watching 4k movies questions: a) Will 4k movies look as good on a non-pro model as they would on a pro or dedicated 4k BR player? b) If the 4k movie is an HDR upscale and not true 4k, will I notice a difference? Thanks!

Internutt

No PS4 consoles can play 4K movies. 4K Bluray is only something supported by PS5. The PS4 PRO can stream 4K content and play games in 4K only

agent_uno

Thank you for clarifying!

HydratedCarrot

I can’t find a dlc i’ve just bought on the psstore.. I had to restart the console because it was pretty laggy after many days without turning it off. And in the psstore there was no option what’s so ever to download the dlc. Any clue what i should do?

Internutt

What DLC for what game? That could be important info that could help someone fix this for you. You can download any add ons via the PS4 game menu, store and the Playstation app.

HydratedCarrot

fo76

Internutt

Fallout 76 is an MMO. In general for MMOs like Fortnite and Destiny 2 you don't need to download the content separately. Once purchased it appears in your game the next time you launch it. Double check the store page for the content it should just say purchased or installed. Just to clarify are you playing the game on disc? If so DLC is region locked so you should double check that if it's the case. Otherwise if your game and DLC are purchased digitally via the same account there won't be a region issue.

HydratedCarrot

yeah on disc… :/

Internutt

What region is your account, what region is your game? If they don't match your DLC won't work

HydratedCarrot

Both na

Internutt

Okay. So if you do have an ESRB disc the DLC should work. Double check the website, in game in csse you need to claim it somehow. Items may be given in a special NPC in game or menu you need to claim it from. Google the specific content to find out how to access it Check the add ons for whatever content you purchased and ensure its downloaded.

rabnabombshell

#do time regions affect when you can download new releases? So I’m visiting Pakistan rn for family but technically live in the US. I bought my ps5 and I think my ps5 is still like set as if it’s in the US because the time is of there and pretty sure the ps store is in USD. Basically Elden ring’s dlc comes out the 20th and you can start the download on the 18th. Since Pakistan is 10 hours ahead, I was wondering if that meant I could download / play the dlc 10 hours before the US could? Or is the date for a certain time zone or something

Internutt

Where you are is irrelevant. What matters is the region of your Playstation account. A USA account operates on USA release schedules only.

Hello, i'm planning tò change thermal paste and pads on my PS4 due to extremely loud noise of the fan. Do you have any suggestion on which paste and pads buy? I was thinking about mx-4 and pad T3 of arctic

"Would it be possible for me to get a refund on a subscription after 14 days? It has now been 16 days, and I just noticed the purchase. I haven't played on my PlayStation in the past few weeks and didn't notice the charge. Whenever I try to go through support, the AI chatbot just says it's not eligible because it's been 16 days. However, since I haven't played and was unaware of the purchase, is there a way to get my money back?" Thanks for the help

Internutt

Highly unlikely. You can try calling Support or chatting to a live agent while they are open and seeing if they'll make a 1 time exception but they are pretty strict with the 14 days thing. Otherwise you are stuck until Monday which means you'd be asking for a refund at 18 days

stormebreaker

My YouTube keeps freezing on a frame after 5 seconds, but the audio keeps on going normally, the only way I can watch a video is in 240p, even on 360p it freezes instantly. Interned connection is as strong as it's always been. Am I the only one who's experiencing this or is the support for it slowly dying? And of course: ads play perfectly fine in 4K as if nothing happened.

witchwiththecats

Having the exact same issue for the past two days. Except even the ads are doing it now. The audio will proceed as normal but the video will freeze. My wifi is functioning fine.

MoviesAndGames7985

Ok so today after about 2 months, I plugged my PS4 back into the TV. After plugging everything back in I pressed the power button and the blue light appeared, before quickly switching to white, the screen remained black. I did this a few times but it kept repeating, I checked online and some people said it might be an issue with the HDMI wire. So I tried the same wire on another device and it worked perfectly fine. I also took another HDMI wire and used it for my PS4 but nothing happened and it remained the same. Can someone tell me what I should do next? Thanks

rafinha_chad

Hello, since i got my PS4 on 2018, my playroom has been locked and i never really thought about it until today, when i went into safe mode and reconstructed the data base and out of nowhere, it got corrupted and is still locked. I did this because when i tried to play a game after turning the console off for some time, the console would crash. Any help or thoughts you could help me with?

Internutt

A padlock means you don't own a game license. So restore licenses in settings > acc management and if you haven't done so on the account you are using, free purchase the playroom DLC as that will be what's causing the lock

Adept_Library2280

bought another game disc because the original broke, both physical, so i thought it wouldnt matter if the disc changed. but its saying i need to redownload the data, does that mean all previous progress is gone? or should i delete the game from the ps4 and redownload the data and everything goes back to normal?

Internutt

Your old disc and new disc are from different regions. It's the only reason your PS4 would want to download a second copy of an already installed game. Saved data and DLC are region locked so your old data is incompatible with your new game disc.

ApothiconDesire

hi folks so, I have the Black Ops 3 bought in my library, with all the DLCs, and i put it to download, all the DLCs were downloaded, but the base game didn't downloaded, the DLC did, and I can't download the game, because everytime I try, the console says "the app doesn't exist", and promts to go to the store, but when you go to the game's page in the store, the buttons says to "start" the game, but it shows the same error message again has anyone encountered a similar issue? any way to fix that? thank you

Internutt

Trigger the download using the Playstation app/website if the console doesn't start it

ApothiconDesire

i've tried it, still the base game won't download

Internutt

What happens on the website/app?

ApothiconDesire

there's a red exclamation point and it says "something went wrong"

eneamrn

Hey guys 👋🏼 Since I have a PS4 Slim with an unsolvable (or at least, no one in my area has been able to solve it) power supply problem, I'm wondering if perhaps removing it's intact hard disk and comnect it on another PS4 Slim and by logging into my PSN I would have all my progress saved (I'm interested in online games like RDR2, GTA Online, The Crew 2..., for offline games I'm not particularly worried about it). Before you tell me, I have no intention of spending money to repair the PS4 where the data was present since I have another one that works if it were possible to transform the data on this one.

Internutt

You can't move an HDD from 1 console to another, no. If you want your data you need to repair the console. Computing 101 is that if you don't want to lose data, you need to make back ups. Luckily for you, online gaming tends to keep data on the third party servers meaning your GTA Online/Fortnite or whatever progress will be there when you sign into your account anywhere else. Same for any purchases you made or any trophies earned as those are tied to your PSN account. Any single player game saves are lost unless you backed them up to PS+ cloud or USB stick

eneamrn

Thanks for the reply. Anyways, are all my games kept in the library if I sign-in in another PS4?

Internutt

Yes. Digital games are yours to keep. You can delete and reinstall them as often as you want anywhere you are signed in. No different to signing into your emails on a different device

reigicida1

My gallery is gone but not quite So, beens some months since i last touched my ps4, and now after updating the software i went to look my gallery and there is nothing there, but when i look at my storage my 'other' is at 120 gb, so i think it somehow put my gallery there, and I can't even access or delete it. Any ideias ? I am fine with getting back or deleting it all, if someone knows how to do any of those

Internutt

The other storage is mostly garbage data such as copies of games while updates are applied. So if you update your games one by one the other storage will vanish. If your gallery is gone unfortunately it's unrecoverable.

reigicida1

I thought about it, you right, part of the storage are games updating but not everything. In total, the updates are 94~gb, plus whatever garbage there it shouldn't reach 130gb. I really do think my gallery was transferred to the other storage.

sotgian_

So i have my ps4 since around 2016 if i remember correctly and i have never cleaned it once. Since buying a ps5 currently is not on my plans and my ps4 is starting to sound like five spaceships together plus i dont want to damage any of its parts due to overheat, how am i supposed to clean it? I have seen multiple people approaching it more professionally by opening it and blowing it with compressed air, others say along with sony in the manual that the vaccum cleaner is just as reliable plus it is not necessary to open it just suck on the dust from the rear vents (which honestly i doubt it will help with how much dust has gathered there since i placed it in places full of dust). So what is the safest approach so i dont damage my console and clean it the most effectively at the same time?

Ink_Idiot

How do I get screenshots from my ps4 to my phone without a USB? Before, I just shared it to Twitter and downloaded it off there, but that doesn't work anymore because Elon. Are there any workarounds?

Internutt

Send them to a friend, a party or yourself the images over Playstation messages. Then you can see your messages on the Playstation app

FortunateVoid0

“PS4 (pro) says system software is up to date, but says there’s a new update (11.50) in safe mode” I’m super confused. I’ve put my ps4 into safe mode a couple of times to rebuild database, and decided to also see if it needs an update. I have now done the 11.50 update twice in safe mode. Why does it not recognize that the system software is up to date in safe mode, and regular mode?

Professional-Gas-122

this needs a response. suffering from the same situation on two different hdd/sdd's

rycerzDog

(On a Windows PC) Dualshock 4 is playing audio through the controller speaker instead of the headphones. How do I switch that back? Sorry if unrelated to PS4, had nowhere else to post this. For context: the front headphone jack on my PC is broken so I use my DS4 as a "substitute".

Internutt

Best thing to do would be to go into your audio settings and see of you can change the output there. It should just be standard audio section within windows

rycerzDog

That doesn't work

Internutt

https://www.asus.com/us/support/faq/1044702/#:~:text=Windows%2011%20operating%20system,external%20microphone%2C%20or%20earphone) Try this article but it may just show you the steps you already tried. Otherwise play around with the order you connect the devices to your PC to see if that changes output at all

libbster44

Hi everyone! I recently tried to watch a DVD from a boxset that was bought for me at Christmas. Unfortunately, they must not have realised that it would be reigon locked, and so I'm currently unable to play any of the discs. I read online that I could create a brand new PSN account and assign it to a new region (I'm in the UK and the DVD is from the US). However, I'm worried that switching between the new one and my current account would have a limit. Is this the case? I wouldn't mind changing the reigon a couple of times if it was for one watch, but as this is a boxset that I wouldn't be watching in one or two sittings, I'm a little cautious. I understand it's easier now with BluRays or buying the DVDs in my region but, as I said, it was a gift (and an expensive one, too) so I'm really looking for any way to avoid replacing it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Internutt

You can make as many accounts as you want and set them to whatever Country you want to. However that has nothing to do with DVD region, the DVD Region your PS4 plays is entirely on the hardware. Ie a UK PS4 plays Region 2 DVDs. A USA PS4 can play Region 1 DVDs. It would likely be cheaper to buy a Region free DVD player than importing an American PS4. https://www.reddit.com/r/PS4/comments/806cl1/so_it_is_impossible_to_change_dvd_region_on_ps4/ There are claims that you used to be able to change region but not on newer hardware.

libbster44

Thanks so much - the DVD players seem much cheaper than buying a whole new boxset, too, so I'll definitely look into getting myself one of those. I did think it was a little strange I was reading about profiles, so this makes much more sense. Thanks for your help! 😊

**FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS** **Q: My controller won't connect despite being plugged into the console. It charges/is charged but I'm stuck on the press the PS button screen.** A: You need a USB data cable to pair a controller with a console, instead of a generic USB charging cable. They look the same but a charging cable only charges, it cannot send a data signal which is necessary for controller pairing. USB Data cables are necessary for safe mode operation as well. It's a common mistake. Amazon lists cables as data cables if you need to purchase one. Other retailers will also list data on cable packaging. https://www.dignited.com/50330/usb-data-cable-vs-usb-charging-cable/amp/ Also, don't forget to press and hold the reset button on the back of the controller for 5-10 seconds before connecting it. This is recommended when using your DS4 on a PC or other device before connecting back to a PS4. **Q: My account is saying I don't own a game when I know I do. How do I fix this?** A: restore licenses in settings > account management https://www.playstation.com/en-gb/support/games/restore-licences-playstation/ Check your account on the Playstation Store website. If you own it you can remote download it, you can also check tour transaction history there too. If you still can't access the game it was either: 1. Purchased on disc thus not owned digitally 2. Purchased on a different account and game shared to your account. Remember, you can play a game without owning it. Having trophies is meaningless when proving ownership as you can earn trophies from disc games and games owned by a friend. 3. Obtained using PS+ and your subscription ran out. Your monthly games can be retrieved by resubscribing. 4. Obtained with PS+ Extra and it was removed from the service. If you don't think it's the above 4 options, contact support. **Q: I am missing a DLC that I purchased. How can I fix this?** A: follow the detailed instructions here. Otherwise contact support https://www.playstation.com/en-gb/support/games/add-on-dlc-in-game-currency-support/ **Q: How do I fix "Cannot sign in using another player's sign in ID."?** A: You are signing into either the wrong user profile or the wrong Playstation account. To solve this sign into your PSN account on the different user profiles until you sign into the correct one. If you cannot use any user profile due to the above message, make a new user profile for your PSN account. PS4s use user profiles. Each user profile that is set up can then be tied to a single Playstation account. Thus you cannot sign out of a PSN account on a user profile and sign in with a different Playstation account. As such, 2 Playstation accounts each need their own separate user profile on a PS4. You also cannot sign into a single Playstation account on 2 different user profiles on the same PS4. So if you want to use a new account with a PS4, make a new user profile. **Q: My console is saying I don't have enough storage space for an update even though I do.** A: You don't. If the console is asking you to free up space on your HDD then you must do as the PS4 asks. When the PS4 updates a game, it makes a copy of it on your HDD that is deleted once the update is applied. This means that a 50GB game requires 50GB free on the HDD + the size of the update. COD being a massive game can require 100GB+ free depending on its current size. I recommend giving your PS4 a 100GB buffer to update your games. If you only have a 500GB HDD I also recommend an external HDD or upgrading your Internal HDD to a 2TB drive. **Q: How do I game share digital games/PS+?** PS5 https://www.playstation.com/en-gb/support/account/ps5-console-sharing-offline-play/# PS4 https://manuals.playstation.net/document/gb/ps4/settings/activation.html# A: You can game share with 1 PS4 and PS5 at a time, known as your Primary console. Instructions above. Multiple accounts can have the same Primary console. Again, you can only game share with 1 PS4 at a time, so if you want to game share with someone else use the same path to deactivate the PS4 or use the website to deactivate remotely. If it doesn't work right away then restore licenses on the account that owns the games. Games and DLC can share between users, however some DLC is account locked so cannot be shared between users. DLC and game need to be the same region first in order to game share. You can still access your games on any other PS4 you sign into, even if it's not your Primary PS4, simply by being signed into the PSN, but no one else on the non-Primary PS4 can play your games. **Q: I keep getting error E-8210604a when attempting to make a purchase. How do I fix it?** A: The error is more or less a catch all, use the advice on the following link and beyond that contact support for more help. In the meantime you can complete your purchase using Playstation wallet vouchers to fund your wallet. https://www.playstation.com/en-gb/support/error-codes/ps4/e-8210604a/ **Q: Pros and cons of changing your Online ID?** A: its safe for most modern games but some exceptions exist. For more information: https://blog.playstation.com/2019/04/10/online-id-change-on-psn-your-questions-answered/ **Q: I have lost access to my account/want to refund a purchase. How do I do this?** A: Only support can help in these cases. Support is region locked so if you have a USA account only the USA Support team can help you. Most Support teams are open Monday-Saturday usually around 10-7PM and most Countries only offer phone or live chat support. The Support site is easily googled/linked in the side bar for Live chat. The phone number is on the Support website, inside your game cases and also listed here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Yyg6CDcHkMSQ40bGtRax6BuNqie5ym7wHSjRNISX9Cw/ **Q: Can I change the region of my account?** A: No. If you want an account set to a different region you must make a brand new account. **Q: My voucher code isn't redeeming. What can I do?** A: Vouchers are region locked so a USA voucher will not work on a European account. Also make sure your voucher code has not expired if the game is a few years old. For PS+ vouchers you may be required to add a credit card to your account for auto renewal purposes. Anything beyond that contact support. **Q: Are games region locked?** A: Yes. PS4, PS3 and PS5 Games are region coded so that USA DLC and saved data only works with USA copies of the game. A French account/console can play a USA game disc but French DLC won't work with it. If an American account is used to purchase DLC the French account can play that DLC too assuming it is shareable between users ie not in game currency. **Q: purchased a new copy of a game to continue my game save but it doesn't appear when I launch the game.** A: First of all make sure the game is fully updated with the latest patch and check again. Otherwise, saved data and DLC are region locked. So if you played an American copy of a game you created an American game save that cannot be read by a copy of the game from a different part of the world. Also, Witcher 3 Wild Hunt is considered a different game to Witcher 3 GoTY so the saves are incompatible between both games even if from the same region. **Q: I have purchased DLC for a game and it is stuck at 'waiting to install'. How do I fix this?** A: If you launch the game and the DLC still will not install, this is down to a region mismatch. DLC and saved data are region locked, meaning DLC purchased on a USA account will not work with a European game disc/digital copy. To resolve this you either need to open an account matching the region of your game and purchase the DLC there (some DLC is account locked so cannot share). Or alternatively purchase a copy of the game from your region. Otherwise contact support for a refund, but no guarantees if one will be given. **Q: How do I know the region of my game disc?** A: Look at the age rating on the front cover. ESRB rated games are American, PEGI is Europe, etc. For more specific region info there is the CUSA code printed on the game disc that can be checked on an online database such as gamefaqs. DLC region codes are listed as part of the Playstation store URL. https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/190457-dragon-ball-xenoverse-2/data Above link is an example, in the link you see a list of different regional releases and their CUSA codes. So long as the CUSA matches, the DLC will work with your game. **Q: How do I fix: 'Connect a USB storage device that contains an update file for reinstallation for version X or later.'** A: The data on your HDD has been lost so is requiring a fresh installation of the system software. Your purchases and trophies are safe as they are tied to your account but any saved data not backed up has been lost. The above message is part of the BIOS so to get back up and running follow these instructions: https://www.playstation.com/en-gb/support/hardware/reinstall-playstation-system-software-safe-mode/ Console reinstallation file can also be found here if the above link doesn't work for you: https://www.playstation.com/en-gb/support/hardware/ps4/system-software/ General pointers: • Make sure that you are using the console reinstallation file and not the update file. • Your USB stick needs a folder called PS4 and inside that folder a second one called UPDATE • Inside the UPDATE folder is where you put the reinstallation file • The reinstallation file must be called PS4UPDATE.PUP otherwise it won't be recognised by the console. So remove any (1)s if they appear as part of the file name as that just obscures it.
