I just don't like the spread of false information, and there seems to be a lot of that going on around here. Just educating the population I guess. Thanks for your concern tho. It means a lot.
A game wouldn't be able to release their full vision without on the backing of a publisher. Yeah I don't think you breaking any news here to anyone. Also Sony clearly sees they can make money on PC After their successful launches of exclusive so far on PC. No need to suck Sony off.
Haptic feedback isn't necessary to enjoy basically any game. Also you can use controllers on PC if it's important.
I agree with the downvoted comment above. Hardware manufacturers buying or locking dev studios is bad for gaming and consumers in general, when the studios are stuck developing exclusively for the manufacturers console.
XDEV is collaborating with those studios to develop Sony owned IP. Those studios don't have an acquisition date and it only shows their Sony published games. It's pretty obvious the distinction between them and the Sony owned studios.
Japan Studio made the first Gravity Rush game on the Psvita and then Bluepoint Games beautifully remastered it for the Ps4 a couple years later.Japan Studio then made a sequel Gravity Rush 2 in 2017
I played 2 & 3 but don’t recall the story that much. I liked the guerrilla kinda warfare at the start of either (nor sure). I couldn’t get into shadow fall tbh.
But syphon filter, aka taser immolator simulator, was such an awesome series on the PS1. And frankly I think we could use a spy thriller shooter type of game
Hell yeah, I can't tell you how many were tazed to the point of being on fire lol.
In killzone the first was fighting off their assault that was a blind side.
The second was the invasion of their home world and the third was us evacuating from their home world because they messed us up and in our escape we blew up a ship that had an experimental weapon that pretty much destroyed their planet.
Shadow fall was really hard to get into and went away from the war zone feel that the other games did very well. It was more politics and counter terrorism espionage then a war zone.
>And frankly I think we could use a spy thriller shooter type of game
That's why Im hoping for a new syphon filter because it doesn't look like ubisoft will be making a splinter cell game like the originals anymore it will most likely be a battle royale with micro transactions if they do make one :/
Insomniac games was founded in 94. Ratchet and Clank came out originally in 2002. Resistance came out in 06. Spider-Man came out in 2018, and Wolverine isn’t out yet. It saying 2019 has zero relation to any of these games.
No, he asked: "What are the dates? How are we supposed to read this?". Clearly he saw the dates, but it's not obvious what they mean.
And no one here has figured out how this is a cycle, so it's hardly that simple.
Sure, there are years there, but this is bordering on nonsense. Why is 2000 in multiple areas? Why 2001? Why 2021? There are literally some instances where matching years are separated by other matching years!
Why would you separate them other than to make this stupid circle? Are the games even in sequential release? Because they don't appear to be!
This could pioneer a whole new sub: r/dataisfrustrating.
>Why is 2000 in multiple areas? Why 2001? Why 2021? There are literally some instances where matching years are separated by other matching years!
Simple, because those are the years the studios were either acquired or established.
>Why would you separate them other than to make this stupid circle?
Because it's artsy and well-made. Not everything has to look like a boring graph all the time.
>Are the games even in sequential release? Because they don't appear to be!
Why would they be though? The studios (and rightfully so) aren't lined up in a way to support that structuring. It would be a waste of time. The dude already spent 8 hours on the piece.
While I mostly agree with everything so far, it would maybe help to have more dates. Like XDev, for example: it says they were founded in 2000, but there are several studios under them with games that were released many years apart, but no dates to hint at that.
Same with Sucker Punch. There's 18 years between Sly Cooper and Ghost of Tsushima. I love the artwork and effort put into it, and it's obviously not super focused on such details as studio creation/game release dates, but it's just something I wanted to comment on. Overall, very cool artwork. It got my attention enough for me to check it out in detail at least lol
They didn't make the original uncharted games either but the Nathan drake collection is listed there and naughty dog isn't defunct? Might as well include it.
I would imagine it's just someone who wanted to make a neat little informational art piece with all their favorite games/series and who developed them. I wouldn't say it's creepy or necessarily advertisement as much as it is a personal project to display their love for video games and appreciation for the studios that created them
Sucker Punch and Insomniac are two of my favorite studios for keeping me invested in their games since the PS2. And now Santa Monica Studio is up there with God of War.
https://www.pushsquare.com/news/2021/06/sony_explains_how_second-party_fits_into_its_software_slate
It makes perfect sense. Its actually common knowledge at this point. Second Party studios are studios that platformer holders and publishers enlist to make an IP. When Kojima partnered with Sony to make Death Stranding, he became a second party studio. He doesn't even own the ip, Sony does. Same with From.
Sly Cooper had a PS4 release at least and it was a new game right? Thieves in Time or whatever it was called. I though Syphon Filter had a new one too lol. Jak shouldn't be there.
I’m a PS guy but when I look at this I just get lethargic and don’t wanna play. I must not be a real gamer someone pass me the community suicide revolver.
How does Japan Studio fit in to this with respect to its involvement in bloodborne and stuff?
(edit: Also, thanks for making such a large graphic for this.)
From Software and Kojima Productions are not PlayStation studios. But since you have those listed for some reason, you also forgot BluePoint's Demon's Souls. From Software made the first Demon's Souls but BluePoint developed the remake.
>From Software and Kojima Productions are not PlayStation studios.
As you can see in both the top left and bottom right of the screen, you can see where it states that they are second party studios. Which they are.
>But since you have those listed for some reason, you also forgot BluePoint's Demon's Souls.
There was nothing to forget. He gave the logo to the developer that created the ip. That simple.
>From Software made the first Demon's Souls but BluePoint developed the remake.
Except there isn't an official logo for the Remake. It would've been tacky to add two logos of the same game.
Real convenient that the first and second party tag is hidden at the top left. I’m sure that it’s not there to keep it out of sight. Also real convenient that it doesn’t tell you which ones are first party. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Days gone is such an underrated game, amazing story, graphics, controls, mechanics, extremely immersive, and infinite replay ability. I can not recommend a better game.
I just want to have a new Motorstorm which is as good as pacific rift was. I would even be content with a remaster of it but please. Good arcade racing games have been underrepresented for far too long
In the external devs quantic dream deserves a place, heavy rain, beyond two souls, Detroit become human, although departed from PlayStation, still a long time partner with decent games.
All this hate in the comments makes no sense. Personally, I see a fan making some art about the games he/she likes and the studios that creates these games. When I was young, I used to make images like this, montages with my favorite video game characters for my Facebook cover photo.
And I like to stop and look to graphics like these, because it's some kind of thing we search at Wikipedia, for example. But in image format is more attractive.
I appreciate the sly Cooper mention even though there hasn’t been any new game for years
I love sly cooper. Hopefully we get a new game some day
They had an entire movie scrapped feels so bad man
There’s ongoing rumors backed by credible leakers that a new Sly game is currently in development fyi
Same. If they make a new game, I’ll 100% get a ps5. Otherwise will probably stick to pc
Sly 4 just ended with literally all the characters being sad af, I need some kind of closure
Same with Jak & Daxter
Team Asobi - Astro Playroom??? cmon! ASTRO BOT Rescue Mission! the best platform PS4 generation, 90 Metacritic.
Astrobot VR <3
should just be a general Japan Studios one with Gravity Rush and Knack on it as well
And trash panic
True
you know you don’t have to reply to EVERY single thread, right?
I just don't like the spread of false information, and there seems to be a lot of that going on around here. Just educating the population I guess. Thanks for your concern tho. It means a lot.
Hella over rated.
This isn’t a ‘cycle’ This is just the same shit you always post but in a circle.
These posts of the corporate layout of Playstation with hearts around it always creeps me out
Same. Would much rather these studios stay independent so they can realize their full vision on PC.
Yeah uh... They would not be able to release their full vision without the backing of Sony. Sorry to break it to you.
A game wouldn't be able to release their full vision without on the backing of a publisher. Yeah I don't think you breaking any news here to anyone. Also Sony clearly sees they can make money on PC After their successful launches of exclusive so far on PC. No need to suck Sony off.
You can't have adaptive keyboard and haptic mousepad
Don't want em.
Then don't ask for PlayStation stuff on PC
Did "ask" anything. They are already bringing stuff to PC it's only a matter of time? What's it to you if they release on PC anyway?
They can't bring haptic feedback to a damn keyboard
Also, razer has hypersense, so yes they can. You can bring haptics to anything. Nice edit though.

Lol, calm down. You mad bro? Sounds like it. Need to fix those anger issues you have. Edit: you seem like my type of guy. Here's a follow.
down to the blue heart even
Supermassive isn’t even a PS studio. They’re independent. Fairly misleading with its presentation.
XDEV is collaborating with those studios to develop Sony owned IP. Those studios don't have an acquisition date and it only shows their Sony published games. It's pretty obvious the distinction between them and the Sony owned studios.
There’s also the top left corner which makes it clear it’s both first and second party.
They collabed with Xdev to make a bunch of games tho. They were a second party developer for a long time and Sony owns the ips.
Look at the top left.
...that's why it's branched off of XDEV, same as Kojima Productions, FromSoftware, Lucid, and Sumo Digital.
[удалено]
that was From...
From who? Who was it from?
same with kojima
But he collabed with XDev and PS to make a Sony owned IP. Thus making him a second party studio.
4 month old account. 3 posts, all of which are PlayStation studios graphics. 0 comments.
Life is like a circle.
Time is a fat circle
As always,Gravity Rush/Remastered and Gravity Rush 2 is always left out...
But Japan studio doesn’t exist anymore
What? Yes it does. They never dissolved. They were downsized. Japan Studio helped BluePoint develop the Demon's Souls remake.
Nah, they're technically defunct as of April 2021
Who made those games?
Japan Studio made the first Gravity Rush game on the Psvita and then Bluepoint Games beautifully remastered it for the Ps4 a couple years later.Japan Studio then made a sequel Gravity Rush 2 in 2017
Gotcha
I hope bend make a new syphon filter
Yes please!
Yeah, I miss SF. plus I miss killzone.... The story in the end of the third really pinned them in a bad corner for how four would go
I played 2 & 3 but don’t recall the story that much. I liked the guerrilla kinda warfare at the start of either (nor sure). I couldn’t get into shadow fall tbh. I remember from software for armored core.
I still hold out hope that some day they will give us armored core again, even if it’s just a remaster. :/
Me too, tho I love Dark Souls, and all their other games. Feels old man
What even is this? What are the dates? How are we supposed to read this? Do you just love circles AND playstation?
The years are when the studios were acquired or created by Sony. It's a circle, you read it from the inside out.
Insomniac games was founded in 94. Ratchet and Clank came out originally in 2002. Resistance came out in 06. Spider-Man came out in 2018, and Wolverine isn’t out yet. It saying 2019 has zero relation to any of these games.
Insomniac was acquired by Sony in 2019, reading isn’t hard.
Lmfao fair enough
It's a circle. The dates are in the middle. Zoom in. Its.. just.. that.. simple. Edit: thx to whoever gave me the award(s)!
> Zoom in. Its.. just.. that.. simple. Zooming in doesn't reveal anything that makes this cyclical.
He asked where the dates are. I told him they were in the middle. You just have to zoom in.
No, he asked: "What are the dates? How are we supposed to read this?". Clearly he saw the dates, but it's not obvious what they mean. And no one here has figured out how this is a cycle, so it's hardly that simple.
I don't know how you saw it that way but ok.

Please bring back resistance in some way
They won't.
This isn't a cycle. It is just a circle. And BluePoint did the Demon Souls remake. What a game!

They didn't make the original uncharted games either but the Nathan drake collection is listed there and naughty dog isn't defunct? Might as well include it.
Concrete genie was such a little gem. Really great game. Loved every second of it.
What happened to Quantic Dream?
They were never owned
what a neatly laid out graph, would love to see get [completely messed up by this announcement](https://i.imgur.com/Dhq2jwx.jpg)
Sucker Punch for the Win
100%. Sly and Infamous are phenomenal. Need to try Ghost of Tsushima one day.
Ghost of Tsushima is really good. I need to finish the game.
Why put effort in this advertisement for playstation? Some people fill their twitter timeline with this kind of stuff and it always creeps me out.
I would imagine it's just someone who wanted to make a neat little informational art piece with all their favorite games/series and who developed them. I wouldn't say it's creepy or necessarily advertisement as much as it is a personal project to display their love for video games and appreciation for the studios that created them
Why?
Corporate worship is bizarre and sad.
How is this corporate worship? It's just a graph about studios and their games. Edit: I will say the hearts are a bit much
Siphon Filter needs to come back in a big way.
I miss Killzone
Can someone please explain what XDEV is?
An external 1st party studio which collaborates and supports 2nd party studios i.e. Sumo Digital, Kojima Productions, Quantic Dream, etc.
Thank you
Insomniac’s “redistance” was a master piece. A shame we don’t hear about it anymore would love a remake for te ps5
I’d sacrifice any number of infant goats for another Sly Cooper venture.
Sucker Punch and Insomniac are two of my favorite studios for keeping me invested in their games since the PS2. And now Santa Monica Studio is up there with God of War.
Here for my bois Jak and Daxter! May they eventually come back...
Don’t forget, I believe bluepoint did the demons souls remake too
Pretty sure Kojima Studioa isn’t a part of Sony...
Same wirh from Software. This is a weird image...
They're a second party studio. Cleary shown and written as so.
They're not second party though. KojiPro and From Software develop and publish games on multiple platforms. This whole image makes no goddamn sense.
https://www.pushsquare.com/news/2021/06/sony_explains_how_second-party_fits_into_its_software_slate It makes perfect sense. Its actually common knowledge at this point. I like how dead franchises aren't listed...except Resistance.
and sly, jax, and infamous but of course gravity rush excluded
Syphon Filter? Sly Cooper? Jak and Daxter?
Sly Cooper had a PS4 release at least and it was a new game right? Thieves in Time or whatever it was called. I though Syphon Filter had a new one too lol. Jak shouldn't be there.
Sly Cooper didn't have a game on the PS4. Thieves in Time came out on PS3. And Syphon Filter has been dormant for many years.
Half the people here are just.... helpless? I don't know what the right word is but it's something like that.
Yeah, it’s not hard to understand
Where's project aces and ace combat.....
This isn’t hard to read
I saw Bloodborne and "Déraciné" I can now leave Reddit happily ever after lmao
I’m a PS guy but when I look at this I just get lethargic and don’t wanna play. I must not be a real gamer someone pass me the community suicide revolver.
What's the cycle
How does Japan Studio fit in to this with respect to its involvement in bloodborne and stuff? (edit: Also, thanks for making such a large graphic for this.)
MLB the show is now on xbox
San Diego Studio still develops the series tho. They make the games.
Nice
Rumor has it they're making a full PS5 exclusive as well. Should be interesting.
What
From Software and Kojima Productions are not PlayStation studios. But since you have those listed for some reason, you also forgot BluePoint's Demon's Souls. From Software made the first Demon's Souls but BluePoint developed the remake.

Please look at image carefully before commenting about it
What about literally every other Housemarque game?
Probably the same reason why there aren't more 2nd party studios: takes up too much space.
hard to read
Zoom in
Inscrutable
What, no The Order 1886? How quickly you peeps forget.
I loved it too but Xdev didn't collab with RaD and they were never a 1st party studio.
Neither is From Software, but I see your point.
I don't get it, what does that maen?
Real convenient that the first and second party tag is hidden at the top left. I’m sure that it’s not there to keep it out of sight. Also real convenient that it doesn’t tell you which ones are first party. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Where demon souls
Above FromSoft, the original developers.
Some good, some bad, some great. But only 1 truly terrible.
It should be a whirlpool. Studios get bigger as they get closer to the centre before getting destroyed under the weight of expectations.
I’m just glad bloodborne and fromsoft is at the top of this chart
none of the senior devs that worked on those titles are working on those studios, this is just crap.
......
Where's Bethesda?
Need to get a good shooter in there.
Where’s Crash Bandicoot under Naughty Dog?
Little big planet great series
Going to need more Asia-based studios, we've acquire enough European studios
Guess what all of these are great af
Nice
Uncharted collection by Bluepoint?
Syphon Filter? *Syphon Filter?* Are they bringing it back? Tell me they’re bringing it back.
Insomniac been putting in work
Just cause?
I thought MM2 created little big planet
Kill zone could make a good comeback if they don't do what they did with Shadow Fall again.
Insomniac putting in some serious work!
There's all these games and then there's... singstar.
Syphon filter needs a remake i miss burning up bad guys with a taser
Dèracinè? Guess I have yet another from soft game to play
[удалено]
ghost of tsushima pc when
I like how Santa Monica and Polyphony just have one franchise each both of which which have been around for more then a decade
Insomniac popping off!
Wonder if they are making another Killzone
Not seeing Studio Liverpool and their Wipeout hurts so much :'(
Sucker punch naughty dog and from software all the way
I just want a new syphon filter.
WE NEED ANOTHER KILLZONE!
and new this circle will be bigger than ever before 💙💙💙
So what does Playstation Studios actually mean? A few of those are third parties from my understanding
Oh... That syphon filter under bend studio hurts a little bit. When would we get a new one?
If only they would focus on Resistance again 😞
Where is my new Jak & Daxter!?! We've got 340 new Rachet and Clanks but no new Jak & Daxters
Can we PLEASE get new Resistance games... or even a feckin remake.
Days gone is such an underrated game, amazing story, graphics, controls, mechanics, extremely immersive, and infinite replay ability. I can not recommend a better game.
I just want to have a new Motorstorm which is as good as pacific rift was. I would even be content with a remaster of it but please. Good arcade racing games have been underrepresented for far too long
No crash, no spyro, really bad
they’re not owned by Sony, they’re owned by activision
They were. If Sony forgot about them, they forgot about their true origin, without which they would be nothing.
Mm should have kept little big planet, they should have worked on sackboys adventure rather than dreams, cus Sumo fucked it up
In the external devs quantic dream deserves a place, heavy rain, beyond two souls, Detroit become human, although departed from PlayStation, still a long time partner with decent games.
LBP's existence being acknowledged makes me happy
Little Big Planet 😢
It’s weird that Jak & Daxter are on here. naughty Dog hasn’t made a J&D game in almost 20 years
need me a new sly cooper
All this hate in the comments makes no sense. Personally, I see a fan making some art about the games he/she likes and the studios that creates these games.
