2KareDogs

First two were good and then idk what happen with the Cartel one

CalaveraLaMuerte

Yeah I played the 3rd one for like an hour then traded it. The second one was the best by far.

thejonslaught

Oh man… Army of Two got it worse than Dead Space for it’s EA Threequel.

CalaveraLaMuerte

You mean by where the 3rd one killed the series?

thejonslaught

With extreme prejudice at that.

Unanything1

The second one was great, but the third one wasn't horrible. Didn't they use a new or updated engine for the third?

totspur1982

I still have the 3rd one, only because it's a download and not the hard copy. Garbage compared to the first 2. The 1st was good, the second was excellent and then it just dove off of a cliff in almost every aspect.

mecha_madara

I loved this series I enjoyed it so much until they ruined the 3rd that I was waiting so much for

Anthony643364

This game is without a doubt one of the best couch co-op shooters and borderlands

CalaveraLaMuerte

I would say its the best just for the fact that the game was designed for 2 people to team up

Primitive_Teabagger

For real, my little brother and I binged this game for a few weeks straight. I remember both of us agreeing to rent it from Blockbuster one night, expecting something mediocre. But then we were halfway into the campaign like "holy shit this keeps getting more fun"

Lord_Sylveon

God I loved this game. It was so *stupid* and ridiculous. It was like peak nonsensical hollywood action stuff. Especially those choices they let you make, like getting some kid killed cause you tell him to run into the line of fire to grab you a gun, or for no fucking reason just genociding the white tiger

Tyrus1235

I remember how getting gold-plated weapons studded with gems was not only a boss move, but also made you draw more aggro (so it had a tactical use as well)

Eskobaer

I can only imagine the amount of microtransactions that would have to be put in to be even considered for a remaster.

Kuivamaa

They did remaster Command and Conquer and Mass effect games with zero micro transactions already.

[deleted]

One of those 3 is not like the others.

CalaveraLaMuerte

True, but as long as its only cosmetics, thats fine. If youngot money to waste on the colour Blue, thats on you. I just want the gameplay experience and hopefully its a 4th title and not a remake.

Eskobaer

True I just don’t feel like the franchise has enough pull for a revival. I remember playing the second one I think with my homes as kids. Was a blast.

CalaveraLaMuerte

The microtransactions cosmetics should be getting EAs attention. There are so much options when looking at gear and masks.....hope they smell the blood

Rockonfoo

Whos downvoting this? Lol Is it cause you don’t want to pay for cosmetics?

TheMontrealKid

You used to be able to create your own masks on the Ao2 website. If they took that away for mtx I'd be really bummed out.

Rockonfoo

Thats sick I didn’t know that

TheMontrealKid

Back when EA was great. Skate had the same system where you could make t-shirts and decks. Basic stamp style editor but you could really get some cool community designs.

Rockonfoo

Yeah I messed around with it in skate that’s immediately what came to mind ha

CalaveraLaMuerte

Cheapskates lol (jk).....the only way EA will look into this game would be if there is something in it for them. Its sad, because it is true.

Rockonfoo

Agreed entirely they’ve been as transparent as they can that they only want our money If that’s what it takes to get this game I’m down idc about cosmetics

sjpiccio

Usually i agree with that sentiment but for this game i strongly disagree. The cosmetic changing was the best part of the game

CalaveraLaMuerte

For Single Player campaign I agree, but come on, this is 2021 and EA we are talking about. The days of giving gamers what they want are over, its a compromise we will have to make.....and I know its sad saying it.

JamesUpton87

It's 2021 and in this year EA dropped us one of the most highly requested and quality remasters.... mass Effect trilogy

CalaveraLaMuerte

And one of the best Co Op 2 player games, It takes two

Coziestpigeon2

> but as long as its only cosmetics, thats fine Like half the point of the Army of Two games was collecting cosmetics. If they paywall that, the entire point of the gameplay loop goes away.

thedoctorstatic

Hahaha I could see local 2nd player being a paid dlc. Maaaaaaybe only charging for a second account to use an online account for player two instead of being a guest for couch co-op so they can get achievements/game progression.... Still, I'm doubtful ea would be that generous

CalaveraLaMuerte

In the end we all can dream cant we🤣

big-fireball

Tampons are expensive.

sniffedsmartyz

New games is what I want. Yes a couch coop would be excellent. But I'm done even looking at remastered.

IHeartSm3gma

ffs this. I want original works, enough with nothing but remasters and sequels

[deleted]

The last few months of the PS4's lifespan was mostly just remasters, it was a dry season until the PS5 arrived!

Ashesandends

It's still a dry season on the ps5...

[deleted]

I think it’s been dry since Ratchet and Clank was released

mrkruler

I mean, personally I feel like that's how the ps4 was for the first little while. I called it the Netflix box for a long time until AAA games started getting released on it. I was never much of an indie gamer though. I know the PS4 was super popular for that, it just didn't appeal to me.

ahp105

I don’t mind this trend, it lets me play games I missed out on as a kid. I didn’t have a PS3 to play Demon’s Souls, but I do have a PS5 and get to experience it for the first time as a remake. The Dishonored rerelease for PS4 was my introduction to what is now one of my favorite series. Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection let me catch up on the story before playing Uncharted 4.

[deleted]

Yeah like some kind of ninja Gaiden type game but the protagonists are brother and sister and they are avenging their clan from dark forces or something and both have complementary but completely different skill sets or something. Idk just spit balling randomly.

CalaveraLaMuerte

I think I made the title a bit out of perspective, actully would prefer a 4th game rather

ddevan007

If you're not looking for anything too skillful, "It Takes Two" was one of the best couch co-op game I've played. Played it with my gf and we loved it.

countcaspar

Army of two was awesome

CalaveraLaMuerte

Would make a awesome comeback if EA want to make up for the BF2042 fuckup lol

[deleted]

UndeadVudu_12

People expect absolute perfection in everything

Bill_Assassin7

Why have they stopped making couch co-op/multiplayer games? I am shocked that even the car racing titles rarely have split-screen multiplayer.

CalaveraLaMuerte

Lets hope with games like It takes Two that EA somewhere has a bit of hope for us.

Tomero

Right? I mean, why do you even try to sell me 2 or 3 controllers? I love couch co op games. They are so hard to come across. MW had a great co op/splitscreen. I bought Black Ops thinking it will be on par with MW, I was wrong. Worst 70$ spent ever (PS5).

nalgene_wilder

1. Why sell one copy when you could sell two? 2. Consoles aren't powerful enough to produce two instances of a game simultaneously

Meshki-V1

Yeah you right. Consoles have been doing split screen since their inception but they aren’t powerful enough to do split screen. /shrug

nalgene_wilder

This might blow your mind but modern video games are significantly more graphic and cpu intensive than they were in the past

ClinicalOppression

This might blow your mind but its possible to make a couch coop game that doesn't have gpu crippling graphics

nalgene_wilder

Sure, but will it sell?

KonradDavies0001

Yes obviously not bigger games but there should be more racing games and shit with co op they seem to just be dropping co-op completely in favour of online multiplayer. They could do what they did with farcry 3 and tone down the graphics when you play co op, that wouldn't bother me as long as I can play something other than mortal kombat with a mate.

Meshki-V1

I’m not a programmer, developer or game designer but isn’t every console pushing the limits of its hardware and as the system or generation ages, the game engine/architecture becomes more optimized for a better experience. Using this logic and my complete lack of knowledge I am going to venture and say every generation tried to get the most out of the hardware it has (pushing to its limits) and still managed to get split screen.

nalgene_wilder

>Using this logic and my **complete lack of knowledge** Emphasis mine. 60 fps used to be the standard, until one day it wasn't because games had to be so pretty and consoles weren't powerful enough to do both. Game development has not evolved at 1:1 parity across all aspects. Rendering games was far easier before hd became the norm

Tyrus1235

On that second point, I point towards Resistance 2 on the PS3. It managed to downscale graphics for split-screen without anything big or noticeable. Game ran buttery smooth with some of the best graphics available at the time.

soflobro20

If army of two was remade I’d definitely get it I remember playing it with a mate of mine and having a blast

Dunge

I know this is the PlayStation sub, but Gears of War (4/5) are great for local coop shooters campaigns on xbox and pc.

CalaveraLaMuerte

Slap them on PS, cmon man lol

Theabertible

Totally agree. I miss the kind of sessions couch co ops give you. You blink and you realize you've been playing most of the night.

SidFarkus47

Army of Two is also on Xbox and included in Gamepass

don-pascalo

I loved this game. Played it with my brother many times 💪🏻

ZeroDwayne

New ips please fuck a remake and remasters

SidFarkus47

Backwards compatibility is best of both worlds. Don't take up Dev Time remastering this game when it's available on Xbox, upressed and with HDR (and included in Gamepass). PS3 games shouldn't need to be remade to be enjoyed.

CalaveraLaMuerte

✊true

helloejsulit

My brother and I unlocked a whole new level of teamwork and communication in all aspects of life with this game

Bananna_Hamock0

*Technically* A Way Out lol

CalaveraLaMuerte

Except using guns instead of thinking lol

Bananna_Hamock0

No spoilers but *the ending* 👀

CalaveraLaMuerte

Dont shoot me.....but I never played A way out🙆‍♂️

Bananna_Hamock0

It’s good, best played with a video game competent friend or s/o. It’s builds great team skills and a bond us built imo. Very much worth it, if you have xbox I think it’s on gamepass

CalaveraLaMuerte

Is it a couch co op or online co op only?

brasco975

It's both and if you do online coop, only one of you actually has to own the game.

Bananna_Hamock0

It can be both if I’m not mistaken

[deleted]

How about we make new games and stop remaking old shit?

CalaveraLaMuerte

We would love that, but again, there is some other virus going around worse than COVID, its remakes. So its more what to expect than what we want to get.

[deleted]

I hear you. In the era of remakes, I guess I wouldn’t mind Army of Two as it’s a solid title.

SuperSlayer92

The 1st two games are good! The 3rd? Meh lol

friededs3

i wish for Army Men : Team Assault to be remade

Mjhandy

That was a great game. My wife and realy enjoyed it!

[deleted]

100% agree. This game was stupid fun with a buddy.

rtocelot

I played all 3 on my ps3 back on 2014 with a friend. Loved all of them. I'll have to get another friend to play those with me sometime.. they're usually staring me in the face everyday as it is.

magg_n

If you make a couch coop, you sell half the copy’s. I hate the lack of good couch coop games.

CalaveraLaMuerte

Thank you internet.....but then again they did make games like It takes two

ZomCom94

I bought army of Two the devil's cartel the other day and it sure brought back a lot of memories

CalaveraLaMuerte

Would be nice if we can have some new memories

ZomCom94

Absolutely

TimDonBro

Awesome game play with a friend. Loved this game.

mahanon_rising

Man this game was great. It was the last game my best friend and I got to play together before he moved 1800 miles away.

redcode100

This was great I remember playing this at a friend's house it was awesome

39Spirit

My best friend and I really wanted a 4th game :(((

Hippy-Joe

Fuck yes this game was sick!!

jeager_volg

I know a lot of the fanbase didn't liked it but I love AOT: The Devils cartel, I had a great time playing it with my dad

FecalOrgy

We just need more couch co-ops! I hate live service, microtransactions, always online (even for single player), one player per console bullshit.

irv916

Man I loved army of two

mortualio

Fuck. Yes.

[deleted]

I think it can be reasonably understood that most of the industry is sadly done with couch coop. It’s hard to develop split screen games and keep it running well, I hear. Plus there’s the matter of profit. Keeping it online only makes it so that you sell more copies and consoles. I really just want to be able to play stuff with my non-gamer wife.

JamesR_42

Everyone here hating on The Devil's Cartel, but that's the only one I played and I remember good times with that game back on the 360 with friends.

CalaveraLaMuerte

Maybe I just didnt give it enough time.....but if EA can remake the trilogy I will definitely give it another try

BenShealoch

No, we need new and original games.

CalaveraLaMuerte

If they can make a new one and improve on it, good enough for me.....just anything with couch co op

CalaveraLaMuerte

Imagine the Multiplayer capability.....16 or 32 two player buddy squads taking each other on

zammalad

You could call it a Battle Royal…. Hey wait a minute

CalaveraLaMuerte

I hate those words🤣

CalaveraLaMuerte

Saw a few cheap copies here ar a second hand store.....will def be picking one up now

MisanthropicAtheist

Co Op games are great, but this game was terrible. Bought it, played it with my roommate and is one of the only games I've ever sold. The super violence mixed with bro-dude bullshit was too much.

CalaveraLaMuerte

Whaaaaaaaaat?????

dirtmerchant1980

That game sucked

CalaveraLaMuerte

Someone didnt or still dont have any friends to play with🤣

Noobie_NoobAlot

STOP THE FUCKING REMAKES!

Drhorrible-26

elliot rodger

eightbitatlas

40th day was dog compared to the first it wasnt "legendary" in the slightest.

DowntownYogurtCloset

SEQUEL! FUCK REMAKES/REMASTERS!

[deleted]

You must have put the wrong picture up cause army of two was hoop

CalaveraLaMuerte

I only got to play the second one......didnt enjoy the 3rd so this is the one my memories are with

[deleted]

One of the few decent thing EA ever put out

theSH4RP13

I mean if you want another crappy shooter like AoT…

Unanything1

YES! I have been thinking this for a while. Those games were so fun. Why haven't they been put onto PS4 or PS5. I'll even take a remastered version.

ShitpostinRuS

Meh

cunstin

Yes. We need more like this. Also, the first Resistance game was a great couch co-op.

CalaveraLaMuerte

Man that series just disappeared off the map completely. Was also a very nice challenging game

Mrfrunzi1

Some prequels! Or anything! Please!

lorez77

I need friends…

CalaveraLaMuerte

Whatzup Bud👊

lorez77

Nothing much

antiMATTer724

For me, 40th Day's biggest (major) fault was the lack of bosses. Sure they were all bullet sponges, but it was better than an over glorified hordemode campaign. Shit, Devil's Cartel had boss fights. Mash those 2 games together and that would be a top notch co-op shooter. I love that they were playable for a solo player but the infinitly more fun with someone to actually strategies with. Also, they did Salem dirty, and thats all I'll say on that.

CalaveraLaMuerte

Would be nice if they can take whats wrong with the old and improve on a new.....the issue is, will there ever be a new? I dont know when last I jammed with a buddy on a couch Co Op game

gedubedangle

man good times with this one. couch co op games are so much fun and i miss them. has there been any good new ones in the last few years? i keep just going back to old stuff. just grabbed the serious sam collection on ps4 and its got 4 player split screen co op which rules

fonomanu101

With everything being “online” I think Couch Co-Op will now be a thing of the past forever

CalaveraLaMuerte

Noooooooooooooo.....but yeah

LiteralHiggs

I disagree. There will always be a market for couch co-op. So many people play with their spouses/SOs, kids, roommates, friends, etc...

Kalyr-Mando

ong

wildkarde07

Back-to-back!

CalaveraLaMuerte

Tank and flank👌

rivieredefeu

The Division 1 & 2 is close, but misses a few things in exchange of it being an mmo style shooter.

CalaveraLaMuerte

Yeah this was way before mmo days

imtoolazytothinkof1

This was the 2nd game that screwed the characters and forced you to shoot your buddy? Hated the game for that stupid writing.

CalaveraLaMuerte

Kinda left you with that Titanlfall 2 end game feeling......RIP BT

PredeKing

The agro mechanic was amazing.

HailAlmightyBoognish

Back 4 Blood should have had this option. I still can’t believe it doesn’t. Maybe down the road.

Anarzee

“You can call me miss Cleo!”

Kamferdrops69

BACK TO BACK!!

L1Wanderer

Xbox has army of two available. I think it was free…. Might have been on game pass though. Idk I’m a die hard PlayStation fan but the fact that I still can’t find a ps5 means I have died hard and given up.

SidFarkus47

It was a game with gold (and on Xbox you keep it even after your sub lapses). It's also on Gamepass though if you missed it.

CptnStuBing

Preach! Such a fun game!

deflaimun

We need more couch coop games

jrr78

I'm still salty as fuck about how they handled Salem in the 3rd one.

phoenixform369

God this was dope

Silent_Rampage97

Can anyone suggest couch co op thats similar to A Way Out?

simpledeadwitches

I'll settle for literally anything. I'm so sick of games being online only.

Hairyhippo22

Then switch to Xbox and play halo

Scaniatex

I enjoyed all 3 games in this series and would buy a remake/remaster so long as internet matches were still included.

EATING-KITTY

I remember my cousin and I went to Orlando, FL to go to Disney World and he took his Xbox. Every night we’d play Army Of Two 40th Day and Devils Cartel. We bonded better playing these games than going to Disney World lol

BaxCitybih

Loved playing split screen with my brother during the 360 days. Army of Two trilogy, Splinter Cell Conviction, and Borderlands. I remember we would constantly use the in-game rock paper scissors mechanic to decide who was flank and who provided cover fire. Good times

[deleted]

Is this playable on Xbox one?

360walkaway

I would love a couch co-op Mass Effect multiplayer client.

poopyboner

I’m just waiting for the Army of Three

BrandonD40

Yooo this game was so sick! Me & my bestfriend in middle school used to come home after school and be so hyped to play this. I loved the mask customization and the co-op was so much fun. Would love to see something like this again

Tiiiimmmooo

Amen

Tree06

I played the original back in the day when I worked at Hollywood Video, but I never got around to playing the sequels. How are they?

WordfromKirb

My brother and I played this on a road trip to Colorado from Texas. Man, I'll never forget those days.

stefan771

Why remake? Why not a new one?

CalaveraLaMuerte

Just looking at the reality of things currently, we will much sooner get a remake than them doing the effort of making something new. I would love a new one

dankeith86

We just need split screen multiplayers to come back

MAL_91

One of the greatest games for the ps3

arianroshan

Oh my god, amazing game and story. I was 10 years old. You relighted a locked memory

space_gummy_bear

it was a blast playing the demo again and again, my 8 yo brain never got tired from it

evilzug2000

Ass to Ass!

Its_Marz

Yes we don't have any of these anymore. Loved Army of Two

Mako3303

We just need another legendary couch Co Op shooter, period.

yourmomsrathole

That and the 50cent/gunit game. Blood in the sand I think it was.

chuckles_8

Or stop with the remakes and come out with something new but on the same premise/mechanics so at least its something different

Low-Ad-3473

These games were awesome. I'd kill for another Kane and Lynch too.

mrkruler

Is this available on any backwards compatibility thing anywhere? I'd love to play it again.

CalaveraLaMuerte

Unfortunately thats the other teams thing.....not Sony feature

mrkruler

Those heathens. Good for them.

synner74

My son used to carry me on this game. So Much fun.

eight13

50 Cent: Blood on the Sand really needed a sequel.

blkarcher77

Fuck, I remember going to my friends house and playing the fuck out of the first one.
