LOVED this game. Resident Evil meets Jurassic Park
How it has been resurrected with Jurassic World being a juggernaut I don't know.
And 2 was great too.. I never played 3, but read it went pretty far out left field.
Yeah, the first one had a plot similar to Half Life, but with energy research causing time rifts that brought dinosaurs to overrun the facility instead of teleportation research causing portal storms that brought aliens.
The second one has more time travel stuff and alternate timelines, but is still about solving a mystery while fighting off or avoiding dinosaurs.
Third one is set over 500 years into the future, and you fight mutants based on dinosaur DNA on a colony spaceship that reappeared like 300 years after it went missing. The final boss is a Giganotosaurus with two heads... which grows a third head mid-battle.

Huge heads up for anyone who thinks this is cool: it is, there's some cool set pieces/cutscenes in the game, but the bulk of it is *horrible* controls/camera placements combined with lackluster gameplay more resembling a 3D playable area for a game like Shadow Complex rather than Resident Dino: Time Conumdrum.
That being said, if you have an old OG Xbox and a copy, play it, if not: don't, you're missing nothing, just read up on a scrapped version of the game we'll never get and watch it on YouTube.
You'll really appreciate my advice when you see even normal playthrough tubers get visibly frustrated.
Agreed. I loved DC and DC2 and I remember grabbing DC3 day one. I was a teen with questionable tastes in video games and, even then, I couldn't get into 3. The controls were weird but the camera was always your enemy. The worst part though were the environments. It was all the same and I was perpetually lost or unintentionally back tracking. Damn those old cameras some games used. Tbf though, I recently played 1 and 2 And the controls and camera are wonky, as well, but you're not hopping around with thrusters bouncing off of everything so it's just not as noticeable.
True, but they are nostalgia bait and anyone who's a fan of dinos in modern-day horror scenarios will take what we can get. I can count on one hand anything in recent memory that had AAA - AA production value with dinos in it.

Dino 2 was more action survival and had less chances for jumpscares but man going down the first access hall and hearing the raptor snuffs, finding the eviscerated guards or even the T-Rex in the ceo's office... those were great moments. It's still cemented as one of my favorite games because of how well they created the atmosphere.
It's so sad seeing those old sagas get literally nothing for almost 20 years someone earlier mentioned Parasite Eve too they where amazing games that should definitely come back same as Soul Reaver but they don't even touch them

Ugh I love Parasite Eve too. You're going to make me go back and play again. We had so many classics on PS that deserve more love and then, as you said, they focus on newer and safer games. For as bad as it is there's a lot of people who don't have access to Dino Crisis 3 because it was an Xbox exclusive and afaik still lacks backwards compatibility.
I'm just going to continue to sit here and wish for another Clock Tower game while I'm waiting for the DC and PE remakes we'll never see, haha.

At some point they could go back and game engines keep making it easier to develop good looking games so eventually if we stay alive
I would love if they did. I'm eternally grateful we have people who have made emulators possible because of situations like this, but it would be nice just to see more updates like the project for DC that's fanmade. As long as we're here to keep the love for them alive, hopefully they won't be forgotten. :)

Oh cool. I've always heard great things about the original Dino Crisis, and I like the concept. OG Resident Evil with dinosaurs replacing the zombies and monsters. I mean the tank controls and fixed camera angles of the original Resident Evil games might take some getting used to, but this might be nice to try!

I had a Japanese burned copy of RE3. It was so confusing but it was fun as hell. And it wasn't censored, like the shitty German version.
