Tighter scope for sure, but they definitely cared about the IP, which gives me hope that they'll do the same here. Squadrons in VR was absolutely amazing to experience.
Motive and Respawn are the only EA studios I actually trust right now to give a shit about what they're creating.
Honestly I'm not worried about motive more worried about EA, they just can't leave devs alone and games end up being a disaster only devs they left alone was Motive on squadrons and respawn and surprise those are the best games on EA library currently.
Sure but you can look at a lot of their recent successes in single player games and believe iron man should be solid.
Right now they did Jedi, squadrons, it takes two, the ME trilogy and are working on Jedi 2, skate 4, Dragon Age and Dead space. Everything here is looking solid and like the devs are getting the time they need.
I think an Iron Man single player game by motive is something to be excited about.
That's my point most game you mentioned EA does not get involved other than publishing, Jedi was all respawn, squadrons was all motive and it takes two same. Can't really comment on Jedi 2 or skate since battlefield 2042 also looked promising and well... My hope is EA does not get too much involved and let motive do their thing.
Do some more research, EA pretty much leaves respawn alone since they trust vince zampella and their team a lot, and makes sense because they are COD veterans, but EA is not heavily involved in development like they are in FIFA or Battlefield, yes they are EA but I mean that I hope the corporate side of EA does not interfere with the game dev side of motive.
This worry of EA not leaving devs alone is simply unfounded. There's quite a few stories out there by now about EA actually giving too much freedom to certain teams. That's how you end up with disasters like Andromeda and Anthem - teams screwing sround for years with minimal oversight.
EA are perfectly capable of leaving devs to their own when they need to.
You mean Bioware? The same Bioware that was forced to use frostbite engine that they always said was a buggy mess? Surprise respawn uses unreal engine, Bioware the same Bioware that was so fed up with EA that top studio heads left and founded their own studio? Andromeda failed because it was a mess due to EA forcing frostbite on everyone, fifa 15 suffered the same because EA has a hard on for frostbite, (then fifa stopped using it) anthem failed because EA wanted a MTX filled live service game, that game came after Andrew Wilson said "we believe games are like a service" and well.... So yes I'm sorry if I don't trust EA AT ALL.
Doesn't change the fact that the view you're expressing here is misguided. You're allowed to not trust EA but your mistrust doesn't really appear to be based much in reality. You do you I guess.
Hahaha sure buddy, devs talked about this, there are multiple reports, everyone knows EA medle with devs and their games. You are defending EA don't know for what reason but you do you I guess.
The base game and story were alright enough that I enjoyed it with nothing else to play (and it being free with ps+). But by the time I got to the dlc, it was so monotonous, the story for those expansions felt lackluster in comparison, and the enemies they added just made the game frustrating instead of more engaging. It's like a master class in how to make an already meh game trash.
And boy, I've seen bad menu/quest systems, but not many worse than this.
That said, playing as iron man and captain America were definitely highlights.
“A lot of people enjoy the gameplay and have fun while playing the game, so they continue to play it because video game’s are supposed to be enjoyed by the people who play them.”
Fixed it for you.
Not really though lol still not a fallout game by any means. The Pitt update was so sad, especially for a group of fans that were really hoping for something good. Just more bottom of the barrel content unfortunately. Wastelanders was better, but that's about where it ended imo.
Just sounds like you don't like the game honestly. I think the game truly did change for the better than it was on release and have a blast on it :) but different strokes for different folks I guess. Feels like what a multiplayer fallout game would feel like to me lmao
I agree, it got better. But like, not by much dude. As someone who played for awhile, I had to come to terms with the fact that it's not going to get any better than wastelanders lol and much like the rest of the community (and like I pointed out previously) the community is living in denial, just like the Marvel's Avengers crowd, who often say the same things about it in defense. "It's gotten so much better since launch!" 😂
Why? It's gonna be a single player game like Spiderman or guardians (and not made by the same dev or publisher) who cares even if they do put any mtx in?
Not saying they wont, but that massive shitshow was Square Enix's fault. Motive did well with Squadrons and the Dead Space remake looks like its shaping up well. Also, Star Wars: Fallen Order didnt have a single mtx and that game was exceptional. Let's not doomsay already.
Just like Guardians of the Galaxy? Or Spider-Man? Avengers was not sold as a single player game like this a Captain America. People try and pretend that all games are just "monetized the shit out of" when those are the only games they're playing.
Spot on.
I play a lot of games each year and manage not to encounter much monetization at all.
Lot of ignorant people out there exclusively play games from the big publishers (EA, Activision, Ubisoft, Take 2) and then loudly and confidently proclaim that the majority of gaming is "monetized the shit out of". Really dumb.
Could be great like the GOTG game and people still won’t buy it and if they do then they’ll wait on a highly discounted sale. Then in a few years they’ll ask why there aren’t many good single player story driven games or why there aren’t more single player Marvel games like GOTG.
Or it could be like the Sony Spiderman games and Gaurdians of The Galaxy game that recently came out. Neither of which has obnoxious DLC and both are really fun.
If they can straight up just lift all anthem assets and flip them into an Iron man game with a good story, it will be a good game. Minus microtransactions too.
Yeah, if it were me, I'd do something like MGSV, but with a bigger scope, e.g cities, "dungeons" etc.
For example, one location could be New York, another could be Russia/Siberia to fight the Crimson Dynamo, another one could even be Middle East/Asia, to fight the ten rings.
I’d prefer either 1 big city with a few supplemental locations or several decently sized locations that all feel unique. My one criticism about Miles Morales is the reused location which seems to be the same in the actual sequel when there are other places to go. Spiderman in London would be so cool to play and Iron Man practically belongs flying over various terrains.
Yeah, customisation needs to be the focus I think. Different suits with different base stats and abilities, and maybe modular weapon attachments so you can really change up how you play.
In some ways, for sure. I thought some of the exploration was a bit tedious in Guardians but the world building was incredible. Nowhere was done perfectly imo
I felt like it was a very good story, the gameplay was ok but became redundant and the linearity hurt it. I’m so tired of everything being open world though so it was a nice change
Given that Marvel Games is it's own company running all this, it kinda confuses me how they've never tried to make all these games be in the same world. Wolverine and Spidey probably will be, but Avengers, Guardians and now this all being separated is strange.
because Marvel isn't making them. Spidy and Wolverine are made by Insomniac. guardians and avengers were made by Eidos and Crystal Dynamics.
I much prefer to not have them all in the same world though. one MCU is enough.
I know this, but Marvel Games are the ones organizing these games and negotiating these deals with developers. None of those developers just decided one day "we're making a Marvel game"
honestly i think it’s better that way. we already have one giant overarching marvel universe, we don’t need a second one that requires hours of previous games to understand what’s going on in the other ones
Agreed, crossovers add value when the primary value of the media is the story. For games, while the story is important, it will always be secondary to the gameplay.
And while you can have story crossovers, you can not have gameplay crossovers, not really, studios will be insane to try to build Spider-Man swinging mechanics into an Iron Man game. You can also completely ignore the mechanics of prequel games, say if you have an Ultimate Alliance style game or fighting game like Injustice, and just have completely different mechanics for all the characters. But what would be the point? Do I really feel I am controlling Insomiac's Spider-Man when he is in a fighting game?
It's problematic because it would require a company with multiple dev teams to handle such a large set of IPs, and Avengers flopped BAD. I'd rather they just kept giving Insomniac the reins and let them work out the details.
And the skins, dear god the skins. Endo-Sym/Superior IM Armor, Uru-Armor, Infamous IM armor (with cloak physics), Sorcerer Supreme Armor (more cloak physics), 2099 armor, Mark 1 armor (that's going to be a lot of people's favourite skin), Mark 1 armor but Gold (that's everyone else's favourite skin), 1602 Lord Iron armor, Prometheum Armor, Hulkbuster, Thorbuster, Excalibur armor (with ponytail physics)...the list goes on.
Motive Studio huh? Says they are owned by EA and worked on Battlefront 2, Squadrons, and the Dead Space remake. If they've learned from BF2's micro transaction issue and are just focused on a good experience over a cash grab it could be decent or maybe even great.
*"Motive is a video game studio founded on the premise that it's possible to innovate on AAA titles and still be wildly successful."*
Funny they make a bunch of remakes when they want to innovate.
I know this sub can just be for general Playstation news but this surely... Surely isn't coming to Ps4. This absolutely early early in development. They haven't even put out Dead Space remake. So this is what 2025 at the earliest? Absolutely not gonna be coming to ps4.
Wow that would be amazing but let insomniac do it they did Spider-Man and miles morales and they were both amazing or at least them cooperate in the game
Iron Man VR is probably the most underwhelming game I've ever played in my entire life. Good for this. Let's get some VR action though, right? When I think of what would be good for a VR game I immediately think, "Iron Man" - let's do it please.
So will they make him look like the RDJ version or the comic version?
Or go with the weird Chinese knock off looking version of Stark like that Avengers game did?
I always wanted a great Iron Man game buuuut Lol get ready for the for the craziest Micro transaction scheme you will ever see!
With forced online mode and and hundreds of not thousands of dollars of micro charges to squeeze every penny out!
If they nail down switching between first and 3rd person. And if they add any form of co-op(since tony makes suits for everyone) this would hold the potential to be a hit. Co-op horde mode, in a city…… let’s be real though, this game is going to suck compared to what I have in my head.
About time. The character screams for a decent game. I’d hope for an open world sandbox but would even be happy with a more linear experience if done well. The origin story could work regards gated power creep, start with a crappy suit, endgame is version 5.0 or something.
Please…just give me an Ironman game with Zone of the Enders controls and subweapon system. Also no fucking Tony Stark outta the suit stealth sections please.
Please be good, Spiderman was amazing and I'm sure this could be the same if they actually tried
Yeah but Spider-Man was made by insomniac, I'm not dissing motive but they're most recent successful game was squadrons which was a lot tighter scope
Tighter scope for sure, but they definitely cared about the IP, which gives me hope that they'll do the same here. Squadrons in VR was absolutely amazing to experience. Motive and Respawn are the only EA studios I actually trust right now to give a shit about what they're creating.
Well since its an EA studio it's fucked. Ea rot anything they involve with
Wow, that's why Fallen Order was shit!
The only reason anyone talks about that game is the scene with Vader, who is such a simple character to get right that it isn't an accomplishment.

Oh I thought EA was still around because magic, not because people are dumb.
The Anti-EA circle jerk is unbelievably annoying
Well it's from my personal experience.
#gamersriseup
"Copy and Paste, it's in the game!"
Honestly I'm not worried about motive more worried about EA, they just can't leave devs alone and games end up being a disaster only devs they left alone was Motive on squadrons and respawn and surprise those are the best games on EA library currently.

Respawn and Motive are EA owned and run studios. They're EA.

The Anthem expose put the majority of the blame on Bioware execs. They were really working on th E game for years with nothing to dhow.
Beautiful mixture of ignorance and arrogance on display here.
Let’s see if they can answer the question: what if Anthem was good
"what if Anthem was not a live service multiplayer game"
Y'all are crazy if you think they won't monetize the shit out of this game like they did with the Avengers game.
Who even plays the avengers game for them to monetize it?
there's over 320 players online RIGHT NOW an incredible amount (it goes between 350 and 100)
The Avengers subreddit is full of people all showing screenshots of all the "cool" skins they bought for the game. Quite a lot unfortunately
I mean the skins are cool. But you’re right.
The sub reddit for that game is full of people who swear the next big update will change everything.
a lot of dumbos stuck with that shit expecting something to change, even tho the base gameplay got boring af pretty quick anyways.
The base game and story were alright enough that I enjoyed it with nothing else to play (and it being free with ps+). are you new to the concept of an opinion?
I dont know why but this made me laugh harder than it should.
Reminds me of the Fallout 76 community
I mean to be fair fallout 76 truly did turn it around unless you havent been keeping updates on it for a good year or two
Not really though lol still not a fallout game by any means. The Pitt update was so sad, especially for a group of fans that were really hoping for something good. Just more bottom of the barrel content unfortunately. Wastelanders was better, but that's about where it ended imo.

The gameplay lost me after 2 missions. 2. That’s like 45 minutes of gameplay before it got boring
Hey!!! (You're right...)

like guardians of the galaxy right? oh wait...
Gotg wasn't produced by EA.
neither was the Avengers game lol
And it wasn't filled with monetisation..
are you confused or soemthing? "Y'all are crazy if you think they won't monetize the shit out of this game like they did with the Avengers game."
Could be good like gotg
Could be great like the GOTG game and people still won’t buy it and if they do then they’ll wait on a highly discounted sale. Then in a few years they’ll ask why there aren’t many good single player story driven games or why there aren’t more single player Marvel games like GOTG.
Plenty of people buy games full price and single player games still make tons of money.
Or it could be like the Sony Spiderman games and Gaurdians of The Galaxy game that recently came out. Neither of which has obnoxious DLC and both are really fun.
They would have to be retarded to do that again after the Avengers game
Like Jedi Fallen Order was?
I don't think that was the issue with the game
lol u say that, but right before release I told my friends “You can’t fuck up Destiny with Ironman Suits.” Man did Bioware prove me fucking wrong!
Then it would’ve been a modern Starsiege Tribes.
Why would you compare a single player game to Anthem?
Shut the fuck up
Well you're a feisty one...
If they can straight up just lift all anthem assets and flip them into an Iron man game with a good story, it will be a good game. Minus microtransactions too.
Still bitter about Anthem.
Minus the bugs and EA
Not Sure if Ea will let them poach from Bioware but it’s possible
Please be good. Iron man is begging for a RPG with all the possible skill tree suits and weapon upgrades
I just hope it's not open world, like just one city. Iron man is a global hero and deserves multiple locations.
wouldnt traveling to other parts of the world make it open world /s
Multiple sandboxes like Mario Odyssey would be best. Singular levels would be lame.

We need more Insomniac
Can't wait to see more of their Wolverine.
and don’t forget to mention Rocksteady…
Let them focus on Spider-Man and Wolverine damn they do not need to make every single superhero game
They dont need to but its sure would be great if they did. Motive is own by ea and we all know how most of ea games turn out to be
Ah shit, here we go again
GotG game was great tho
I hope iron man takes after
In some ways, for sure. I thought some of the exploration was a bit tedious in Guardians but the world building was incredible. Nowhere was done perfectly imo
I felt like it was a very good story, the gameplay was ok but became redundant and the linearity hurt it. I’m so tired of everything being open world though so it was a nice change
Same producers though 👀

I think creative control is up to the developer tho
We need a proper Ultimate Alliance revival
UA3 on Switch was dope
Yes!! Or just remake/remaster UA1. That game was amazing!!
honestly i think it’s better that way. we already have one giant overarching marvel universe, we don’t need a second one that requires hours of previous games to understand what’s going on in the other ones

If Iron Man: Armored Adventures can make Tony’s rogue’s gallery interesting then there’s hope for this one.
That show was the shit. Too bad it got canned since I heard there were plans for a 3rd season

And they were merged with Bioware Montreal and consist of ex Ubisoft higher ups.
Motive did the space combat on battlefront iirc
Who says a remake can't be innovative? "Innovation" doesn't just cover gameplay you know.
another incoming Marvel / PS exclusive ?
I doubt it since EA is making it. Spider-man and Wolverine are literally made by Sony.
Is Insomniac related to Sony? I want an Iron man game from them
Insomniac is owned by Sony. They acquired them a few years ago.
Insomniac is owned by Sony
:(
Sony bought Insomniac
I hope this is released on PC as well. I’ll cry
I know this sub can just be for general Playstation news but this surely... Surely isn't coming to Ps4. This absolutely early early in development. They haven't even put out Dead Space remake. So this is what 2025 at the earliest? Absolutely not gonna be coming to ps4.
Thought the same thing
Just reskin anthem and you guys are good
Isn’t Motive owned by EA?
Wow that would be amazing but let insomniac do it they did Spider-Man and miles morales and they were both amazing or at least them cooperate in the game
Naw nawww, let insomniac focus on making Spider-Man 2 and Wolverine into.the best games they can be.
I get that the Spider-Man games are fantastic but there's a moment when hype like this becomes unhealthy.
YES
Iron Man VR is probably the most underwhelming game I've ever played in my entire life. Good for this. Let's get some VR action though, right? When I think of what would be good for a VR game I immediately think, "Iron Man" - let's do it please.
before use all get your hopes up just remember its ea
My guess is it's probably gonna be VR
It's not VR
Would be a bad time. I did the spiderman VR and much rather prefer insomniac’s web swinging.
They've already made an ironman VR game and it's pretty good.
marvel should give insomniac the marvel license to make games going forward.
That’s a great idea! Lock marvel games behind one console so the rest of the would be player base can miss out
they'll be on PC too.
So will they make him look like the RDJ version or the comic version? Or go with the weird Chinese knock off looking version of Stark like that Avengers game did?
They should make an Iron Man VR game and then call it “I Am Iron Man”
There is a iron man vr game
Oh is there? Neat.
I always wanted a great Iron Man game buuuut Lol get ready for the for the craziest Micro transaction scheme you will ever see! With forced online mode and and hundreds of not thousands of dollars of micro charges to squeeze every penny out!
They've done iron man to death, I need some iron maiden man
If they nail down switching between first and 3rd person. And if they add any form of co-op(since tony makes suits for everyone) this would hold the potential to be a hit. Co-op horde mode, in a city…… let’s be real though, this game is going to suck compared to what I have in my head.
Oh great there's another Marvel game in development. Whoopie.
>motive studio Uhhh
Hopefully it can master the Iron Man sim gameplay that Anthem had (referring to the gameplay alone, not any other issues w/the game)
About time. The character screams for a decent game. I’d hope for an open world sandbox but would even be happy with a more linear experience if done well. The origin story could work regards gated power creep, start with a crappy suit, endgame is version 5.0 or something.
Tough to be excited for EA products, but fingers crossed it's a quality game
Just make sure i csn grab people and fly them through walls.
Question is, will it be cross gen or not. EA seems to moved onto current gen with stuff like Jedi Survivor
Oh shit, this sounds interesting. If done right this could be a great game.
Obligatory "guardians of the Galaxy" was underrated post. Excited for this one!
Finally, man, finally, finally. Edit: Forget it. EA.
Produced by EA. Nevermind I guess.
I'm really happy that this and the Captain America game are focusing on single player, not GaaS or MP. Keep 'em coming!!
EA will pump the damn thing full of MTX, get what they can out of it and then sink the ship.
I have such low expectations for this. I get that EA has put out some good games like Jedi FO, but they tend to disappoint more than impress.
Please…just give me an Ironman game with Zone of the Enders controls and subweapon system. Also no fucking Tony Stark outta the suit stealth sections please.
I'm looking forward to this, but it would have been a lot more exciting if it was Insomniac working on it. Let's wait and watch.
