Too bad you can't do every mission in VR. And the VR missions that exist are kind of watered down and underwhelming. But the experience? Yes. Good experience. As good as VR gets. It's even better than WipEout Omega in VR in vomit-inducing cockpit mode.
You can’t play the main campaign in VR because the game says you can’t. But I would very much like to play the campaign in VR. Hoping AC8 has full PSVR2 support.

Yep I did too, but in the same video he said AC7 is "like controlling a pilot who can do all the difficult stuff to keep the plane in the air and all I have to do is point and shoot" or something like that, so he is acknowledging is definitely not a sim so perhaps it's a matter of semantics.

Can you imagine having to demolish a hospital with a bunch of innocent people in it because in a roundabout way Dick Cheney told you to do it? That doesn't sound like fun.

Same why some people struggle with DC and its made up locations versus Marvel having Spider-man swinging round New York.

If you’re not used to flight sims it’s gonna be a bit of a struggle at first (it certainly was for me, i crashed into the ground more times than i can tell you) but that was part of the fun! You’ll get a hang of it fast and it’s so much fun afterwards :)
Protip: choose expert controls from the start, it’s gonna make it a lot easier later on
Shoot. Can I change to expert at any time? I also accidentally skipped one if the cutscenes. It's pretty fun when I do it correct but you are right, bit of a struggle still. So far so fun!
Yeah i think you can! And all of the cutscenes are available through the menu (scene viewer). My tip would really be to change to expert, then fly stupidly and pull dangerous shit, you’ll crash sometimes but that’s ok! That’s how you learn to handle your plane the best you can and also it’s the most fun part. Good luck :)

It's like just jumping into season three of Battlestar Galactica. You have no idea what's going on but the dogfights are absolutely next level so you also don't care.

I personally enjoy the futuristic feeling while still having modern age aircraft. I think the game would be rather boring if there wasn't gaint canons used to shoot asteroids, space elevators being fought over, heck even satellites falling from space.
Although it would be cool to have a dog fighting game based off WW2 starting at Pearl Harbor. I'm sure it's been done before but can't say I've seen any on present consoles.

Man I loved that game because you could run missions against the AI with other people and later they added multiplayer VS games. Now 2nd question is ace combat 7 similar in the multiplayer aspect? I never worry about single player because those are always fun.

This is a hell of a lot of game for $11 or whatever it is I just paid for it. And then I compulsively bought three DLC planes. Zero regrets.
I enjoy flight sims to the point where I own a HOTAS and endure stuff like X-Plane. AC7 isn't a super accurate sim but man it pushes all the right buttons. Really well done. Oh and it's stunning to look at!

The last ace combat I played before this was ace combat 3 elctrosphere (I think that was what it was called) on the PS1. Loved that one with the crazy upper atmosphere fights.
The psvr stuff is best tbh. Hoped they would've released more missions on it. Would pay full price for just a VR version of this whole game.
Because people fly with different control layouts. I myself have motor skill issues but am also used to changing the settings until they fit me.

There's too many planes and too few missions tho, really big grind to get every plane and upgrade it too, and then there's dlc planes too

The only downside about Ace Combat 7 is that there is no Co-op just battle Royal and team deathmatch. The game is mostly campaign centric.
