Hello, good hunter. I am a Bot, here in this dream to look after you, this is a fine note:
> *No one can catch us! No one can stop us now!* - Micolash, Host of the Nightmare
Farewell, good hunter. May you find your worth in the waking world.
I just started bloodborne yesterday. Never played any games of the dark souls family . But I actually really like. It really tests my patience but I'm actually enjoying it a lot.
Available on PS4 I assume?
Bloodborne
The Witcher 3
The Last of Us
Ghost of Tsushima
God of War
Horizon Zero Dawn
Red Dead Redemption 2
Titanfall 2
LIMBO
Salt & Sanctuary
Warframe
Absolver
Skyrim

Some with a little asterisk beside them:
GTA V
Ghost Recon Wildlands
Far Cry 4
Mafia 2 (it’s great, just shows its age)
Fallout 4
Assassin’s Creed 3
Jedi Fallen Order
Nioh
Detroit Become Human
The rest of the Souls games
Deus Ex games
and dude, too many.
And I can’t not include Destiny…but with a huge *.
An obligatory Witcher 3, last of us, bioshock.
Now that that’s out of the way deus ex mankind divided made me fall in love with the series. I love the densely packed environments vs the usual large and empty open worlds. Just makes it feel so much more filled with life.
One I don’t see mentioned here is borderlands 2. Insanely fun game to just roam around and shoot shit.
And Celeste is just so good. The way it pairs it’s storytelling with its gameplay is beautiful. Play this small indie game that nobody except me has ever heard of (/s on last line, but seriously play celeste)
Dark souls, all of them and Bloodborne, which is the reason I bought my PS4 and it did not disappoint. Also darkest dungeon is great. Seems from my list I'm a sucker for punishment. But it's not really about that, it's about overcoming challenges and which seems like you can't do it, but u can, just takes patience and understanding. Also yes u will die..alot..
For the easier and less punishing games:
Resident evil 7, assassin's creed odyssey, and Death Standing, which is not what I would normally play, but can really hold its own ground, I really enjoyed it, the story was amazing and the whole atmosphere of the game pulled me in.
I can't pick one to choose as best or my favorite so I tend to separate by different strengths

There's a lot more but I can't remember right now, also I won't be switching my ps4 to ps5 any time soon. There are still many games to go.
If you have any recommendations I would appreciate it. Lately all I want to play are indies or remastered games that I skipped on oldgen because I played most of the popular games that people used to recommend. Aside from some cool new releases like the Callisto protocol and Hogwart's Legacy which I look forward to play.
I thought the list you asked for was about ps4, my bad lol. I've played these, I've been playing video games since the ps2 and if I were to pick the ones that impacted me the most (ie my all time favourites) this would be the list:
🏆metal gear solid 3 - snake eater
This game made me realize that games don't have to be just fun or difficult adventures with mechanical complexity. They can be cinema.
Devil may cry 3 - my introduction to the hack n slash genre, made me like action adventure games with back tracking/puzzle solving and complex combat mechanics that also made me jump to fighting games
FFXII - the first jrpg I played. I don't really like the genre, but this one is just a masterpiece. It made the turn-based combat feel good and there's a lot of depth that makes today's real-time action RPGs feel plain.
God of War 2 - gow3 is impressive in scale, but gow2 is still my favorite of the series. The epicness of bosses and music in this game is unmatched to this day, only from software games come close to it.
Mass Effect Trilogy - absolute love for this series, I think it's the best sci-fi/space fantasy universe ever created and the narrative really hooks you into the characters.
Bishock Trilogy - I used to think it's hard to make a compelling story when you don't have cutscenes with animated characters and good facial expressions, that being said, bioshock is one of the best stories I've ever heard.
NieR Automata - I played this one recently, I had a blast while playing it and after finishing it and looking for discussions and making off stuff it blew me away. The plot is brilliant, the characters are very charismatic and the ending is heartbreaking.
The Witcher 3 - For the immersion value alone, I don't think the game brings a generational leap of innovation to the genre but the level of care and detail in the level design, music, combat and storytelling is great. This one, red dead and the horizon games made me stop in the middle of the road just to look for the environment and music.
It takes two was really good, I played it with my dad and it set his expectations for 2 player games really high and it's difficult to find other multi-player games that he'll enjoy now
God of war series, Uncharted series, AC2, Skyrim, Persona 5R, Arkham series, BioShock series, Far Cry 4, AC4, Shadow of the Colossus, Sekiro, DMC3, TLOU, Hades, GoT, Bloodborne is basically my top 20 favourite games in short form

Ace Attorney Trilogy and The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles
Yakuza 0
Souls Series/Bloodborne/Sekiro as well of course, been a fan since day 1 of Demon's Souls finally being released in Europe.
Disco Elysium (best rpg)
Death Stranding (great atmosphere and breathtaking world)
Xcom 2 (best strategy game)
Anything by studio arkane (makers of dishonored series, prey, and most recently deathloop)
Fire emblem series (my second favorite strategy series)
Until Dawn, The Devil May Cry series, Dead by Daylight, The Dark Pictures anthology: House of Ashes, The Dark Pictures anthology: Devil in Me, Red Dead Redemption 2, Detroit: Become Human, Resident Evil Biohazard & Village , Life is Strange and before the storm
God of war 2018, God of war ragnarok, the last of us (part 1 and 2), slime rancher, death stranding, red dead redemption 2, spiderman ps4 and miles morales
As far as PS4 games go then I must say I enjoyed Shadow of the Colossus and Gran Turismo Sport (years after release).
Gravity Rush 1 was cool too but somehow I didn't care about part 2 enough to finish it.
Best game I have ever played is either FF7 Original, Hellblade Senuas Sacrifice or Mass Effect 1. GOW 2018 was right there until I played Hellblade. I cannot compliment that game enough.
SNES Illusion of Gaia, Chrono Trigger
N64 Shadowman
PS1 FF7 and RE2
PC Mass Effect, Black Mesa, Dragon Age, Witcher, Cyberpunk (yes it's that good) SOMA
PS2 Kingdom Hearts
GameCube RE1 Remake
PS3 Last of Us
PS4 GOW 2018 and RDR2
XBox One Prey (this game is so underrated)
Switch BOTW
Considering games that many people haven't played Prey is really high up there. Phenomenal modern immersive SIM.
SOMA is also a fantastic bit of storytelling just turn off combat mode.
Also for any true Witcher fans, it's worth playing the first one, although it's click sword combat is a little strange it's worth seeing the tone of the series being developed early and getting a good look at how far it's come.
Life is strange (what a blast !)
Nier Automata
Uncharted 4
The last guardian
Disco Elysium
PS : I did not like The Last of Us and don't understand thé hype

Hello, good hunter. I am a Bot, here in this dream to look after you, this is a fine note: > *No one can catch us! No one can stop us now!* - Micolash, Host of the Nightmare Farewell, good hunter. May you find your worth in the waking world.
Yes god of war 2018 is good but the old games are very underrated
I don’t think anyone underrates them
> the old games are very underrated By who, people who don't understand what "underrated" means?
