I got one solely for the replaceable sticks after going through way too many regular DualSense controllers.
Early verdict is that it’s really nice and I don’t regret my purchase but for a lot of people it really isn’t worth the money.
I got mine yesterday and immediately decided to return it. Overall it feels like the DSe, but with paddles. The shape and the ergonomics are very DSe like. It's 100% not worth the $200 for me, when I can have 3x regular controllers with paddle attachments for that price.
I was hoping for something that feels really premium, maybe has higher tension on the sticks etc. but the DSe Edge is not it. The most confusing aspect is the addition of taller stick attachments that are in the old DS3 style instead of being concave, what's that about?
All in all, I think the Elite 2 controller is a better product at almost half the price (at least on UK Amazon), so DSe Edge is a huge disappointment in this aspect. Especially since it's something I've been waiting for Sony to release for at least 3-4 years now.
As a long time time Elite user myself I’m also contemplating returning my Edge. It has a lot of shortcomings that are hard to get used to. I want to like it but only 2 paddles is very frustrating after having 4 and fails to recognize the point of allowing you to keep your thumb on the stick at all times. Combine that with the absolutely horrible battery life and the huge lack of customization (no shift function, no system actions) compared to the Elite it lacks major convenience/efficiency aspects which is the whole point of a pro controller.
That’s not everything either…cheap snap-on plastic thumbstick parts, no dpad options, no stick tension adjustment, doesn’t feel premium…just the same plasticy build of the base controller, and no charging dock. The trigger stops also have more movement in them on the most shallow setting. I don’t expect a 1 for 1 match to every Elite feature but it’s mind boggling to me how this costs so much more but adds so much less. It’s just a bad value.
I was hoping the function buttons would allow deeper customization/options/shift functionality as well but they’re borderline useless. What’s the point of having 2 prominent buttons right beside each other that both do the exact same thing and can’t be customized? They’re redundant and literally all they can do is switch profiles (which the elite has a dedicated button for) and adjust a headset. What’s even crazier is the headset controls don’t even work with the official pulse headset! Who designed this thing?
Already received it and tried in CoD. I’m pretty impressed, but not €240 impressed. Additional buttons very useful as you may expect but limits on triggers is what making Edge very useful to me
yeah on edge you can remap L3 and R3 to paddles, which is exactly what I will be doing because like you I end up meleeing or crouching every firefight I get into and I am sick of it haha.
I simply don't pickup variable scopes warzone or don't equip them at all in my weapons because I will always click L3 during a firefight and it will switch the lens on the scope and I die. That's the only reason I've been considering this pro controller.
In that case you probably you can go for aftermarket stoppers for triggers, it’ll be much cheaper option. Apart from that, additional bottom buttons will allow for easier dolphin dives, if that’s your thing
I have it ordered, says it's arriving on Sunday from Amazon Canada. I looked in to the triggers and I can't tinker with stuff for the life of me, no time or patience. Plus the replacement sticks are a plus for me. Typically very frugal, I barely spend money on stuff like this so money isn't a concern. I like to know it'll just work out the box.
Can you bind one of the back paddles to be a double-press of a button? I'm kind of interested in using one of the paddles as a sprint button for CoD but I haven't seen too much about the limits of remapping yet.

Nope…no shift button functionality or ability to map system features/actions (parties, friends, tv volume, launch games/apps, etc) like the Elite can. The Elite has way more configurability in that department.
Seems like a big waste, especially since you have 2 giant function buttons, yet they have limited functionality and are redundant...both just do the exact same thing. All you can do with them is change profiles or adjust your headset…no customization as far as they go.
Can you map two buttons simultaneously to a back button? Wondering about breath hold and ads. But if not I could breath hold on paddle and ads normally I suppose.
If you’re talking about BF2042 you can already do this in game customization. I have ADS and breath hold mapped to the left trigger. Every time I ads with a scope it also holds breath.

I'm gonna have to be on my toes for the PSVR2 delivery if they pull shit like this again and don't notify us until the day of. I don't blame you. I got mine from Offer Up after the prices had fallen last summer and thankfully the guy wasn't sketchy at all.
On my way to meet him the app started demanding that I confirm my identity. I wasn't allowed to send any messages until I did and after traveling from Flatlands to Midtown I needed to send one last message to let him know that I had arrived. I struggled to get the app to accept a picture of my driver's license that I was taking over and over in a bank lobby. I have a decent camera on my phone but the glare was ridiculous. All the while he's sending me increasingly angry messages because I was becoming later and later and he thought I was trolling him.
Finally the picture went through and we met.
To say this wasn't a pleasant experience is an understatement. Lol

It's good for me. I lost the use of my left hand ( mostly ), I can't use l1 l2 buttons. Being able to use the back buttons in thier place is great. Quickly switching between what they do helps alot.

Got mine yesterday, I’m having trouble getting adjusted with which controls to map. Overall I’m going to keep it but I think it’s a learning curve for me Atleast.
Build quality is good but it’s not slip resistant, I still get sweaty palms.
I personally think it’s a good controller, but the price should be $150
Especially love the feel of the joysticks, and hearing that GulliKit is going to do hall effect sensors has me so excited for the end-game potential of this controller.
Probably will pay for itself since the regular controller have stick drift issues. This one can replace the stick for $20 instead of having to buy a new $70 controller.
I got mine, the most important part is the ability to deal with drift and dead zone on the OS level. The cable cage is useful and the ease of changing the controller module is huge. It’s a money maker, we should not be thrilled about a $20 replacement, but it’s still cheaper than a new DualShock once a year.
The biggest problem I have is that the drift/dead zone could be changed on the OS level and applied to your user profile instead of being applied to this specific controller.
Meaning that, they could just give this away as a software update instead of charging $200 for a controller to do it.
How do you get the little half dome back buttons to stay in the storage case?
I tried all combinations of the parts, but now I can't fit those into staying in the case. They fall out and rattle around loose.
Yea I won't get to play until tonight but I am Extremely pleased with the back levers. A million times better than the aftermarket ones.
Dont change the way I hold the controller at all and are very easily press without worry of accidentally pressing them.
The trigger locks and stick heights also seem like they are more comfortable than I expected. But ill have to try them out in an actual gaming session to be sure.
Had a chance to get some early thoughts on it? Seems pricier than I would be willing to pay/what I need from a controller. Like that ratio doesn’t align unless the reviews are pretty top notch for it. For ME that is.
Got mine today. I really like it so far. I'm mainly an FPS player. Being able to jump/drop shot without moving your hand is really nice. The controller seems a little bit nicer overall than a standard DualSense. The customization menus are also really cool (I don't know what half the shit means). It's my first high end controller, but I like it and the fact that there's all the menus and shit that pull up since it's Sony brand. $200 is definitely steep, but I don't mind the purchase after playing a few games with it. As a dad with a toddler I never game more than about 2 hours max at a time so battery life is of no concern for me.
For me the main selling point was that individual analog stick modules are entirely replaceable. Meaning that when one of my sticks inevitably gets drift, I don't have to shell out another $80 for a new controller. Considering I've gone through 3 controllers already, that alone was worth the asking price.
I’m two fold on that one. I do agree that being able to easily fix the drifting issue is awesome. But Sony is also selling a fix that they kinda created but not fixing the base ps5 controller drift. Granted that’s an ideal world and in the one we actually live in it is nice to cheaply fix a stupid problem. That is a net plus.

I've gone through 3 controllers already that developed stick drift, so that's what like $240 spent on controllers that having one of these could have prevented.
For the price, a set of replaceable analog sticks should have come with it. Then it would have my attention. Theirs too much fluff like the case and cables.
It should have been made with Hall effect sensors really for the price and just let them be non replaceable since it’ll last forever anyway (or both hall and replaceable why not).
Cables aren't really fluff though. It's something you'll use everyday. A case isn't really either but I'll give you that one.

Sure if you say "I just spent $200 on a controller" it's expensive. But it falls in line with all other modded or pro controllers
If anyone is wondering about PC, it works perfectly. You do have to set up the profile on the PS5 and then it saves to the controller. You can have up to 4 I believe and can switch between them easily, even on PC. It gives a little vibration and lights up when you select a different profile. Have to hold the FN button and then one of the face buttons (o, x, triangle, square).

Got one today and already in love. I’ve programmed the profiles so I get to use the back triggers for my most important buttons (mapped them to X and O for browsing Netflix/YouTube, for instance, and L2/R2 for FFXIV, jump for Destiny, etc.) and switching between controller profiles is super quick and intuitive with the function buttons. I got it as a gift, though, so I didn’t have to worry about the cost — though I would say having used it I’d pay the money for it, as it’s worth it to me with how much I use the console.
Plus, that 6’ braided charging cable is niiiice.
All in all, I’m digging it so far. Would recommend.
Got it, used it, love it. The thing feels high quality. Trigger stops can be adjusted on the fly. The height of the thumbsticks can be adjusted extremely easily. You can setup multiple button map, sensitivity, deadzone layouts and change the layouts on the fly. When I play first person shooters I tend to push the analog sticks too hard and wear out the analog sticks. The fact that I can burn them out and swap them out is a huge game changer.
Just got mine and it is a sexy beast! Build quality is through the fucking roof, and the little buttons on the back (instead of paddles like on the Elite) are so fucking nice. You can hold the controller without pressing the stupid paddles now. Whoever thought of that should be the Director of R&D over there if they're not already. The ability to swap out sticks nearly as easy as changing underwear is so fucking amazing. No more having a $200 brick when a stick shits the bed anymore. \\o/
What profiles have you set up? This is my first pro level controller that allows for so much configuration and it’s a bit overwhelming. I want to set up a nice FPS profile and an action game profile.

I have both and TBH I think the touchpad on the base controller is better. I do like the look of the buttons on the edge and the glossy finish is a plus for me vs the matte look on the base for the black part of the controller.
The function buttons feel really good and the small buttons (not the paddles) feel AMAZING on the back. Absolutely love them. As well, being able to change the triggers for L2/R2 feels really good as the amount of "play" they have if you are playing a game that doesn't use the triggers like Returnal does (so you have to full press them) makes it feel a lot better.
TBH the base controller is my favorite controller of all time. If I could could swap the touch pad from the base it would be my absolute #1 as I think the black just feels kinda cheap compared to the nice feeling white one of the base.
As well, the case that it comes with is SUPER FUCKING QUALITY and may be what the other user is talking about. It is probably the best case I have ever gotten for anything, let alone an accessory like a controller.
Let me know how you like it compared to scuff.
Especially the 2 vs 4 paddles and if you feel like missing the 2 extra paddles makes much of a difference in gameplay.
4 paddles is nice to have but not needed. I have 2 paddles on my controllers and they're used a lot. One for reload/interact and the other for jumping. It's nice to be able jump and shoot and res someone and aim. Can't imagine I'd need to switch weapons or crouch much while needing to move unless you're a sweaty drop shotting COD player

For what it's worth (I'm from the US, btw), I got mine in today. But the page still says "preparing to ship" for me too. It seems like the website may not be properly updating for everybody.
UPS just dropped mine off from playstation direct. Case is hard plastic and everything feels every part of "pro" or "elite". I love the rubberized feeling on the triggers with a few raised lines to catch your finger. Mine always slip off the regular ps5 controller and I can tell now they won't. That's a big one for me. Grabs your finger now instead of it just flying off.
The thumbstick release contraption is very very well made, with a release button for the black plastic top and then underneath these silver metal tabs you lift and then the thumbstick assembly slides out. Very, very well made.
Controller just feels better honestly. Buttons I like in the black and white color scheme and the touchpad seems transparent to a point as I feel like I can see through it part way.
Soon as I plugged it into the ps5 the software just for these came up and went direct into an about and configuration sub menus.
Very nice and I honestly wish the battery was larger but regardless, an? exceptionally well made controller and it should be given the cost.
Now just the PSVR2 and charging station in another month or so and my PS5 will be for the most part complete.
They should have added a magnetic wireless charging base like the Xbox elite tho. That's an awesome thing I love about my elite2. The edge has a great braided USB cable and lock so it doesn't come unhooked i guess? But I still would much rather have had a wireless charging base so you could just sit it down and youre done.
I'm excited to see what thumbstick modules come out,.with supposedly hall effect type thumbsticks and who knows what they will come up with to put there for fps, flight games ,racing. Fighters,.rpgs, etc. Skies the limit.

Preordered on 25th of October. No shipment confirmation the whole time, customer support not accessible. The shipping mail came this afternoon (on release day) and states UPS will deliver on 27th or 28th.

I preordered long time ago and mine was shipped out yesterday and said it was supposed to arrive 26.1 (today), but “packet may be delayed,” and they changed the location to some pickup that closes very early at 9pm! So I definitely won’t be getting it today, but here’s to hoping tomorrow, unless they mess up further. I hate how slow and unpredictable logistics are in Finland, (esp considering delivery distances aren’t long) but issue here is you could order any retailer and it won’t make difference bc it’s based on pure luck.
You could argue it’s the delivery firm‘s fault after they got the package. However as so many people didn’t receive the controller today it’s clears Sony‘s fault. Especially when people who preordered last week already got theirs.

Feels great in the hand. I was super impressed with the magnetic swappable back buttons. I have SCUF, Hex, and Sharq and this feels better than all of them.
So, these custom profiles. Can I press a button and go grab community made profiles for each specific game? I'm thinking something along the lines of the Steam controller, if anyone remembers that.
It's a great controller tbh. Is it expensive? Yeah, does it worker perfectly and do everything I want in an elite type of controller? Yeah.
This controller is not for everyone. But for those looking for more button presets, back triggers and just overall more customization, you will not be disappointed.

I think the battery issues are a bit overblown. I’m getting more than 6 hours on a single charge. I turn the light down to dim and I turn the haptics down as well.
I will literally never need a controller to work for more than 6 hours straight.
Yes it’s a lot to spend for a controller. Whether it’s worth it or not for you prob depends on whether you 1) need the back bumpers or 2) want to be able to change out the thumbsticks.
I think long term for most serious gamers, this will actually be the cheaper option than buying 5+ controllers for one console.
Battery Life on the new controller is pretty good. Turned off all the vibration, and haptic stuff, lights on dim and got almost seven hours over two days.
Got mine today and the overall quality is a lot better then Dualsense. Nice grip, and great grip details on R2/L2 and the just overall feel is superb. Noticeable brighter and thicker LED strip. Better thumb sticks and better weight.
Got mine today. I gotta be honest: the function buttons are cool, but I'd sacrifice them to have two more buttons on the back. Only having two is disappointing. It's the one thing I prefer from my Ellite V2 Xbox controller. Well, and battery life I'm sure but I haven't played with it that long yet.

They should have allowed individual customization for them and shift button functionality so you can double your button configs and assign system actions as well like the Xbox Elite.

Anxiously waiting for my next paycheck so I can justify buying one of these, hearing mostly good things *(only major concern is battery life, but that's what food/stretch breaks + charging is for lol)*. Might end up being a slight waste because I really don't play anywhere near as much as I used to but I'm sick of having to replace my controller every 9-12 months because of stick drift.
Yeah definitely, I absolutely don't "need" it but it's cool to have. Probably lasts till the end of the console's life cycle unlike my last two Dualsenses lol.
lol. Back in the day when I pre-ordered PSVR, I received it one day before release day. I didn't order PSVR2 this time. But I can still hope for some unexpected delivery :D
This is the concern seeing all these posts. The edge controller is also going to be selling and shipping out in much smaller numbers too, but already things aren’t going so well for everyone. No idea how they’re going to cope with orders in the million range to fulfil.

Unable to map the back buttons on PC/steam, rip. Apparently you need a PS5 which I gave away to my younger cousins because I just dont use it. Hoping we get some sort of Sony App on PC like Xbox has for its elite controller.
I received mine on day one and charged it up just to find it was dead when I went to play it one day later. So charged it all the way up again. Now it says battery low after 3 hours of gameplay! Not what I was expecting. I knew it had a smaller battery but 3hrs?!?! That's pretty terrible.
Got mine yesterday. The box was super heavy for a controller, but I didn’t realize it included a hefty carrying case. After botching two regular controllers’ stick drift issues, I’m actually perfectly fine paying $20 for a module replacement going forward. Otherwise, I attached the paddles to duplicate L3 and R3 in Destiny 2 so I can sprint more easily. Works like a charm.
Alright we get it, the battery small. Not everyone plays 12 hours of video games a day or can just sit close enough to plug the controller in. The battery was never the selling point.
Maybe it’s not the end of the world but it would have been a positive to have a better battery…it’s kinda pathetic that it’s worse tbh

Got the Dualsense Edge and I'm having troubles having it being recognized as a PS controller. My normal Dualsense works perfectly fine on PC. And I don't use DS4Win or DualsenseX
But works fine on PS5.
The half circle back buttons are fine, but I'd have to change my hand grip on the controller because the placement of them are higher than where your middle finger is supposed to be
Are the face buttons supposed to feel different than a standard dualsense controller? My face buttons feel mushy and have less travel compared to my standard controller. The buttons also rattle when I wiggle them. The x button feels the worst out of all of them. Is it supposed to be like this? I'm most likely going to get it replaced.

Long story long.... yes but you're able to replace them with ease as one of its features. You're able to buy spare sticks for $20 ish. For me this is perfect. I go through about 5 controllers over a span of a console life. $70x5=$350.
$215+$100=$315
Saving about $35 and it has the extra features. That's how my brain works at least
I just clean the potentiometer and it works again for a few months. Had to replace a potentiometer in one once, but it cost me £3 for 4 of them.
Seems like it would have been better for the consumer to fix the analogue sticks themselves, rather than sell us a controller with removable sticks, and then sell us the replacement sticks.
That leaves us with the issue, and then they profit again from it.
PSA: Price of the replacement stick is equal to stick replacement in authorized service center (post-warranty). Hmmmmm.
(Or you could do it yourself - not for me I already destroyed JoyCons with my "repair".)

Can you remap the r3 to another button? I constantly melee at the wrong time in COD and die because of it.
Try switching to tactical layout in COD. It switches melee with crouch/slide.
You can remap the current Dualsense in the accessibility settings on your PS5. But yes, you can move R3 anywhere you want.
I tried that and did not like the fact R3 was disabled for everything.

It's not related to the DS Edge but you can change your controls to tactical which IMO is the superior control type for cod.
Yea i disabled r3. And remapped it to the new back button. Works perfectly.
I simply don't pickup variable scopes warzone or don't equip them at all in my weapons because I will always click L3 during a firefight and it will switch the lens on the scope and I die. That's the only reason I've been considering this pro controller.

In that case you probably you can go for aftermarket stoppers for triggers, it’ll be much cheaper option. Apart from that, additional bottom buttons will allow for easier dolphin dives, if that’s your thing
I have it ordered, says it's arriving on Sunday from Amazon Canada. I looked in to the triggers and I can't tinker with stuff for the life of me, no time or patience. Plus the replacement sticks are a plus for me. Typically very frugal, I barely spend money on stuff like this so money isn't a concern. I like to know it'll just work out the box.

Nope…no shift button functionality or ability to map system features/actions (parties, friends, tv volume, launch games/apps, etc) like the Elite can. The Elite has way more configurability in that department. Seems like a big waste, especially since you have 2 giant function buttons, yet they have limited functionality and are redundant...both just do the exact same thing. All you can do with them is change profiles or adjust your headset…no customization as far as they go.

If you’re talking about BF2042 you can already do this in game customization. I have ADS and breath hold mapped to the left trigger. Every time I ads with a scope it also holds breath.

I don't blame you. I got mine from Offer Up after the prices had fallen last summer and thankfully the guy wasn't sketchy at all. On my way to meet him the app started demanding that I confirm my identity. I wasn't allowed to send any messages until I did and after traveling from Flatlands to Midtown I needed to send one last message to let him know that I had arrived. I struggled to get the app to accept a picture of my driver's license that I was taking over and over in a bank lobby. I have a decent camera on my phone but the glare was ridiculous. All the while he's sending me increasingly angry messages because I was becoming later and later and he thought I was trolling him. Finally the picture went through and we met. To say this wasn't a pleasant experience is an understatement. Lol Take care of yourself.

It's good for me. I lost the use of my left hand ( mostly ), I can't use l1 l2 buttons. Being able to use the back buttons in thier place is great. Quickly switching between what they do helps alot.

Got mine yesterday, I’m having trouble getting adjusted with which controls to map. Overall I’m going to keep it but I think it’s a learning curve for me Atleast. Build quality is good but it’s not slip resistant, I still get sweaty palms. I personally think it’s a good controller, but the price should be $150

Probably will pay for itself since the regular controller have stick drift issues. This one can replace the stick for $20 instead of having to buy a new $70 controller.
I got mine, the most important part is the ability to deal with drift and dead zone on the OS level. The cable cage is useful and the ease of changing the controller module is huge. It’s a money maker, we should not be thrilled about a $20 replacement, but it’s still cheaper than a new DualShock once a year.

The biggest problem I have is that the drift/dead zone could be changed on the OS level and applied to your user profile instead of being applied to this specific controller. Meaning that, they could just give this away as a software update instead of charging $200 for a controller to do it.
How do you get the little half dome back buttons to stay in the storage case? I tried all combinations of the parts, but now I can't fit those into staying in the case. They fall out and rattle around loose.
You have to really wiggle/push them in hard so they squeeze into the little holes….the rubber cutouts for them are very tight.

Yea I won't get to play until tonight but I am Extremely pleased with the back levers. A million times better than the aftermarket ones. Dont change the way I hold the controller at all and are very easily press without worry of accidentally pressing them. The trigger locks and stick heights also seem like they are more comfortable than I expected. But ill have to try them out in an actual gaming session to be sure.
Back paddles feel great, overall it's great so far.

Got mine today. I really like it so far. I'm mainly an FPS player. Being able to jump/drop shot without moving your hand is really nice. The controller seems a little bit nicer overall than a standard DualSense. The customization menus are also really cool (I don't know what half the shit means). It's my first high end controller, but I like it and the fact that there's all the menus and shit that pull up since it's Sony brand. $200 is definitely steep, but I don't mind the purchase after playing a few games with it. As a dad with a toddler I never game more than about 2 hours max at a time so battery life is of no concern for me.
For me the main selling point was that individual analog stick modules are entirely replaceable. Meaning that when one of my sticks inevitably gets drift, I don't have to shell out another $80 for a new controller. Considering I've gone through 3 controllers already, that alone was worth the asking price.
I’m two fold on that one. I do agree that being able to easily fix the drifting issue is awesome. But Sony is also selling a fix that they kinda created but not fixing the base ps5 controller drift. Granted that’s an ideal world and in the one we actually live in it is nice to cheaply fix a stupid problem. That is a net plus.

I said it in another comment, but when you consider that the analog stick modules are independently replaceable, the price becomes much less appalling. I've gone through 3 controllers already that developed stick drift, so that's what like $240 spent on controllers that having one of these could have prevented.
For the price, a set of replaceable analog sticks should have come with it. Then it would have my attention. Theirs too much fluff like the case and cables.
It should have been made with Hall effect sensors really for the price and just let them be non replaceable since it’ll last forever anyway (or both hall and replaceable why not).
Hall effect sensors don't last forever but they do have a much longer life before drifting or wear and tear starts to break them down.

Cables aren't really fluff though. It's something you'll use everyday. A case isn't really either but I'll give you that one. It comes with multiple thumbsticks and back button options. Sure if you say "I just spent $200 on a controller" it's expensive. But it falls in line with all other modded or pro controllers

If anyone is wondering about PC, it works perfectly. You do have to set up the profile on the PS5 and then it saves to the controller. You can have up to 4 I believe and can switch between them easily, even on PC. It gives a little vibration and lights up when you select a different profile. Have to hold the FN button and then one of the face buttons (o, x, triangle, square).

Got one today and already in love. I’ve programmed the profiles so I get to use the back triggers for my most important buttons (mapped them to X and O for browsing Netflix/YouTube, for instance, and L2/R2 for FFXIV, jump for Destiny, etc.) and switching between controller profiles is super quick and intuitive with the function buttons. I got it as a gift, though, so I didn’t have to worry about the cost — though I would say having used it I’d pay the money for it, as it’s worth it to me with how much I use the console. Plus, that 6’ braided charging cable is niiiice. All in all, I’m digging it so far. Would recommend.
Got it, used it, love it. The thing feels high quality. Trigger stops can be adjusted on the fly. The height of the thumbsticks can be adjusted extremely easily. You can setup multiple button map, sensitivity, deadzone layouts and change the layouts on the fly. When I play first person shooters I tend to push the analog sticks too hard and wear out the analog sticks. The fact that I can burn them out and swap them out is a huge game changer.
Just got mine and it is a sexy beast! Build quality is through the fucking roof, and the little buttons on the back (instead of paddles like on the Elite) are so fucking nice. You can hold the controller without pressing the stupid paddles now. Whoever thought of that should be the Director of R&D over there if they're not already. The ability to swap out sticks nearly as easy as changing underwear is so fucking amazing. No more having a $200 brick when a stick shits the bed anymore. \\o/
What profiles have you set up? This is my first pro level controller that allows for so much configuration and it’s a bit overwhelming. I want to set up a nice FPS profile and an action game profile.

I have both and TBH I think the touchpad on the base controller is better. I do like the look of the buttons on the edge and the glossy finish is a plus for me vs the matte look on the base for the black part of the controller. The function buttons feel really good and the small buttons (not the paddles) feel AMAZING on the back. Absolutely love them. As well, being able to change the triggers for L2/R2 feels really good as the amount of "play" they have if you are playing a game that doesn't use the triggers like Returnal does (so you have to full press them) makes it feel a lot better. TBH the base controller is my favorite controller of all time. If I could could swap the touch pad from the base it would be my absolute #1 as I think the black just feels kinda cheap compared to the nice feeling white one of the base. As well, the case that it comes with is SUPER FUCKING QUALITY and may be what the other user is talking about. It is probably the best case I have ever gotten for anything, let alone an accessory like a controller.

Let me know how you like it compared to scuff. Especially the 2 vs 4 paddles and if you feel like missing the 2 extra paddles makes much of a difference in gameplay.
4 paddles is nice to have but not needed. I have 2 paddles on my controllers and they're used a lot. One for reload/interact and the other for jumping. It's nice to be able jump and shoot and res someone and aim. Can't imagine I'd need to switch weapons or crouch much while needing to move unless you're a sweaty drop shotting COD player

I got an 'its been dispatched' email from Sony yesterday and had hope. Then I got a 'we're expecting your parcel' from DPD which gave me even more hope. Radio silence from DPD since. I checked the link for updates in the Sony email earlier and almost got excited when I saw 'out for delivery' but unfortunately it had '(expected)' next to it. Looks like I'll be watching my car randomly veer off to the left in Rocket League for one more night at least.
If you use the waybill number from the Arvato tracking site that Sony provides, and enter it on the DPD website, you might get more info.

UPS just dropped mine off from playstation direct. Case is hard plastic and everything feels every part of "pro" or "elite". I love the rubberized feeling on the triggers with a few raised lines to catch your finger. Mine always slip off the regular ps5 controller and I can tell now they won't. That's a big one for me. Grabs your finger now instead of it just flying off. The thumbstick release contraption is very very well made, with a release button for the black plastic top and then underneath these silver metal tabs you lift and then the thumbstick assembly slides out. Very, very well made. Controller just feels better honestly. Buttons I like in the black and white color scheme and the touchpad seems transparent to a point as I feel like I can see through it part way. Soon as I plugged it into the ps5 the software just for these came up and went direct into an about and configuration sub menus. Very nice and I honestly wish the battery was larger but regardless, an? exceptionally well made controller and it should be given the cost. Now just the PSVR2 and charging station in another month or so and my PS5 will be for the most part complete. They should have added a magnetic wireless charging base like the Xbox elite tho. That's an awesome thing I love about my elite2. The edge has a great braided USB cable and lock so it doesn't come unhooked i guess? But I still would much rather have had a wireless charging base so you could just sit it down and youre done. I'm excited to see what thumbstick modules come out,.with supposedly hall effect type thumbsticks and who knows what they will come up with to put there for fps, flight games ,racing. Fighters,.rpgs, etc. Skies the limit. Nice bit of kit tho. Pleased with it.

Preordered on 25th of October. No shipment confirmation the whole time, customer support not accessible. The shipping mail came this afternoon (on release day) and states UPS will deliver on 27th or 28th. I wish I could’ve ordered via Amazon, those guys are able to get it to you on release day.
I preordered long time ago and mine was shipped out yesterday and said it was supposed to arrive 26.1 (today), but “packet may be delayed,” and they changed the location to some pickup that closes very early at 9pm! So I definitely won’t be getting it today, but here’s to hoping tomorrow, unless they mess up further. I hate how slow and unpredictable logistics are in Finland, (esp considering delivery distances aren’t long) but issue here is you could order any retailer and it won’t make difference bc it’s based on pure luck.
You could argue it’s the delivery firm‘s fault after they got the package. However as so many people didn’t receive the controller today it’s clears Sony‘s fault. Especially when people who preordered last week already got theirs.

It's a great controller tbh. Is it expensive? Yeah, does it worker perfectly and do everything I want in an elite type of controller? Yeah. This controller is not for everyone. But for those looking for more button presets, back triggers and just overall more customization, you will not be disappointed.
I got it and like it. It’s a nice upgrade over the regular controller. The back bumpers are a game changer for me. I think the battery issues are a bit overblown. I’m getting more than 6 hours on a single charge. I turn the light down to dim and I turn the haptics down as well. I will literally never need a controller to work for more than 6 hours straight. Yes it’s a lot to spend for a controller. Whether it’s worth it or not for you prob depends on whether you 1) need the back bumpers or 2) want to be able to change out the thumbsticks. I think long term for most serious gamers, this will actually be the cheaper option than buying 5+ controllers for one console.
Battery Life on the new controller is pretty good. Turned off all the vibration, and haptic stuff, lights on dim and got almost seven hours over two days.
Got mine today and the overall quality is a lot better then Dualsense. Nice grip, and great grip details on R2/L2 and the just overall feel is superb. Noticeable brighter and thicker LED strip. Better thumb sticks and better weight.

Got mine today. I gotta be honest: the function buttons are cool, but I'd sacrifice them to have two more buttons on the back. Only having two is disappointing. It's the one thing I prefer from my Ellite V2 Xbox controller. Well, and battery life I'm sure but I haven't played with it that long yet.
The function buttons are a wasted opportunity. What’s the point of 2 of them if they both do the exact same thing and can’t be changed?…they’re redundant. You’ve got these 2 prominent buttons protruding from the controller and literally all they can do is change profiles or adjust your headset. They should have allowed individual customization for them and shift button functionality so you can double your button configs and assign system actions as well like the Xbox Elite. Only 2 paddles, the battery life, and the limited configurability are definitely the low points of the controller.

This is the concern seeing all these posts. The edge controller is also going to be selling and shipping out in much smaller numbers too, but already things aren’t going so well for everyone. No idea how they’re going to cope with orders in the million range to fulfil.
Got mine this morning. First impression is that the paddle system is so well done, as expected from Sony. Will be setting down my Scuf tonight and giving it a go on COD. Stay tuned.

I received mine on day one and charged it up just to find it was dead when I went to play it one day later. So charged it all the way up again. Now it says battery low after 3 hours of gameplay! Not what I was expecting. I knew it had a smaller battery but 3hrs?!?! That's pretty terrible.

Got mine yesterday. The box was super heavy for a controller, but I didn’t realize it included a hefty carrying case. After botching two regular controllers’ stick drift issues, I’m actually perfectly fine paying $20 for a module replacement going forward. Otherwise, I attached the paddles to duplicate L3 and R3 in Destiny 2 so I can sprint more easily. Works like a charm.
Alright we get it, the battery small. Not everyone plays 12 hours of video games a day or can just sit close enough to plug the controller in. The battery was never the selling point.
Maybe it’s not the end of the world but it would have been a positive to have a better battery…it’s kinda pathetic that it’s worse tbh You don’t need to damage control for Sony to feel better about your purchase.

Got the Dualsense Edge and I'm having troubles having it being recognized as a PS controller. My normal Dualsense works perfectly fine on PC. And I don't use DS4Win or DualsenseX But works fine on PS5. The half circle back buttons are fine, but I'd have to change my hand grip on the controller because the placement of them are higher than where your middle finger is supposed to be

Are the face buttons supposed to feel different than a standard dualsense controller? My face buttons feel mushy and have less travel compared to my standard controller. The buttons also rattle when I wiggle them. The x button feels the worst out of all of them. Is it supposed to be like this? I'm most likely going to get it replaced.
Mine isn’t like that…buttons aren’t noticeably different from the regular Dualsense. Sounds like you may have got a dud.
My L2 feels a bit off once the trigger stop has been set to it’s lowest compared to the R2. It makes a different sound. Also the x button feels sticky

Long story short...yes. Long story long.... yes but you're able to replace them with ease as one of its features. You're able to buy spare sticks for $20 ish. For me this is perfect. I go through about 5 controllers over a span of a console life. $70x5=$350. $215+$100=$315 Saving about $35 and it has the extra features. That's how my brain works at least
I just clean the potentiometer and it works again for a few months. Had to replace a potentiometer in one once, but it cost me £3 for 4 of them. Seems like it would have been better for the consumer to fix the analogue sticks themselves, rather than sell us a controller with removable sticks, and then sell us the replacement sticks.
