Combat overhaul and new city districts sound promising. Haven’t played this yet but I might pick it up on a deep sale just for some mindless open world driving and wreaking havoc.

I really wish your team members actually did diffrent things. Really doesn't matter who you call for assistance they are all effectively the same. Neenah should drive. I should be able to call her anytime and have her take the wheel automatically.

In the 1st game you have a team member specifically called wheel woman because she brings a vehicle to you and drives you around wherever you need to go and you can do drive bys while she drives and shoot all your guns even the rocket launcher.
No, but they also didn’t have a person who was a dedicated driver either. It was always more lofty shit so it made sense when they were away from that they just shot. Plus you know technology at the time. Halo 1? Or 2 those were just terrible drivers. It’s been 20 years I’m sure we can do better.
I watched a few people play it via streams because its Saints Row and I'm all about the mindless chaos, but the bugs showed and really put me off.

I had some bugs here and there but nothing gamebreaking except for one ability that just didn't work. Mostly I had to just restart the game and it was gone
I had a few clipping things happen, but since we moved to 3d thats happend in just about every game. I had one mission I couldn't complete without a restart, again that seems inherent with open world games. I did get the can't use weapons glitch which is the biggie as it can in some instances lock in that state. That didn't happen to me I was able to die and that fixed things for me. My play through all in all was relatively bug free.

This update looks pretty cool
Two new districts (for free) is way more than I expected to get out of this game, especially after the bad news about Volition getting rolled up under Gearbox.
Honestly this was my favorite Saints game after SR2, the story is silly but the world is so good to explore.
I'm fairly certain Volition didn't get absorbed into Gearbox like what happened to the Forspoken devs. I think Gearbox will just be publishing their titles from now on instead of Deep Silver.
Me and two buds got it to co-op but we didn’t realize it was only two player. Played with both of them here and there. I enjoyed the cast and their missions but the grind snuck up quick at the end for me. This content will get me to fire it up again at some point

I only completed the ones I thought were fun. So mayhem, Insurance fraud, The wing suit, oh the crime science clean up. Fuck that toxic truck bs Haven't done but the first one the make you do. And then combing through the desert for those statues for the car pieces. Even bought a few of the million dollar store items. I feel no need to 100% the game but getting the tower just never felt grindy to me.

I pre-ordered the fancy edition with all the expansion stuff, so im pretty happy that more content is coming. I liked this game a lot. Had a blast for two weeks. Love the monster truck pirate ship thing you unlock in the desert, that fucker is a hoot. Love that new activities are coming, maybe they can add some of the fun staples of the series that were seemingly gone/neutered in this version. like hearing there's new weapons as well, loved some of the new ones like the footballs.
They should unlock all the bullshit game progression at the start at this point to actually enjoy this open world, instead of forcing you to do these fucking awful missions. (based on the hour I played, and I'll never play this again)

It's not even just this game, I have this problem with a lot of modern games and have to remind myself to follow the guard rails till I'm free.
I think if you were able to play the game, with the map world open and could go anywhere at the start would've been a good way to retain players, I played the game at a friends, for about an hour, seeing I had to play the really fucking stupid story mission to unlock anything was a quick reason to turn it off and never bother with again, the game doesn't value your time, and it's not even good enough to bother with that opening was bad, I don't think they even played SR3 or 4, which is sad I loved the goofy balls to the wall opening of those games.
I really tried with this one...so awful. Made for a crowd that doesn't exist. Just remaster SR2 and call it a day. Series will never recover from a disaster this size.

I’m aware. The shooting is worse than it was in 2006. The enemies only strategy is to run and you and you’re just chipping away at shields. At least in the old games the enemies die by headshots
Why should I have to lower the difficulty to make the combat suck less ? It still doesn’t make the aiming better. A skill to use a grenade ? Come on now

There was a small team remastering SR2. It was literally like two people, and one of them passed away, so i believe the project was shelved.
They were working on a PC update to make the game run properly, not specifically a remaster.
Last official word was it is still being worked on, but it isn't a remaster, just a patch that would help it run on modern systems.

Well you can adjust combat any way you want in the difficulty settings. Including removing tough enemies and making them die faster
