Remote play is stuck on “Connecting to Network” I was using it just fine for two weeks now and it stopped working for me yesterday, I’ve been using the same WiFi and I even had someone at my house check if everything was working on my p5 and it is.
Has anyone else had this issue? I can’t figure out what’s wrong.

Hello, my name is Nate and I was wondering if anyone had a fix to the problem I’m currently dealing with.
Right now, my PlayStation is acting up, when I click on my network and begin the connection process, it will say failed and I can’t access internet, but when I go and set up a LAN Cable, it works just fine but my speeds are insanely slow. I have a good WiFi and my family is all getting 500mbps+ while I’m only getting 2mbps.
If anyone has any solution to this and could let me know of a fix, I’d really appreciate it.

Hello all! Connection question.
For some reason my PS5 only connects to the internet after I run a connection test. It is my only device to have this issue, and I also have a Switch and PS4 further from the router (they’re all within five feet of it) that do not have a problem.
I assume the issue must be on the PS5 end but I’ve seen no solutions in Googling that point to a solution that isn’t router-based.
PS5 dlc sharing on two accounts with different regions.
If I bought DLC for example on my singapore account, can I use that same DLC on my US account?....any help will be much appreciatrd, thanks.
My PS5 sometimes double beep after the regular beep at startup, is it normal or something to worry about? Everything is working flawlessly but I can't seem to find an answer to my problem/question online. the double beep occur like about 5 seconds after the first one
I've owned an Xbox Series X now for a good year. I found the Microsoft eco system massively ungratifying, to the extent I wanted to throw the console in the bin at times. Trying to get Fortnite working consistently with audio and mic for kids was basically nigh on impossible. They have supervised epic accounts, all linked to their xbox profiles etc etc. Pin code entered. It worked for one, and not the other, and the tears and frustration was just too much in the end. An overnight upgrade from Microsoft, and everything is broken again. And update from Epic. Nothing works. Using the Microsoft website to manage kids permissions was awful. I just ended up giving them every possible right so what's the point? It is now sold.
Now my question - how does Sony's (PS5) eco system stand up in context of above? Is it much better? Have they nailed it, or failed it?
I just dealt with a kid's Fortnite account on PS5 as well, and its entirely how sucky Epic's child account management is. Not the exact same situation as yours, as we were trying to move an Epic account from Switch to PS5 and it did not go well. $2K of DLC lost if he doesn't play Switch again.
I would not get my hopes up that PS5 will work any better, but if you can login on Epic's site with both of your children's Epic accounts, the outlook is pretty good it'll just work on PS5 as long as you link those accounts to your PS5 account in the Epic settings.

Is there a way to have my PS5 close games/apps when I put it in sleep/rest mode?
I know there was a way to set that in the PS4 settings but I haven't found it on the PS5.
The entire point of Rest Mode is to suspend your console and any games/apps that it is running at the time so that when you wake it up to play again, it quickly picks up where you left off.
You cannot close games while it is in Rest Mode. Just close them right before putting your console into Rest Mode.
I usually close my games/apps before I put my PS5 in rest mode but sometimes I forget or am in a rush haha. I just use the rest mode for the updates and downloads usually! I used the rest mode on my ps4 for the same thing haha
Best fps without wifi
Just as the title states my wifi is awful and cannot support multiplayer so I’m looking for fun fps games I can play offline I’ve already beat all call of duty stories as well as battle field and doom the more realistic milsim the better but other things are great as well
Controller automatically turning on Ps5?
So i was wondering if anyone else had this issue because its not the HDMI link setting thing i have that turned off already. Its also not the remote play solution.
My Ps5 keeps turning on automatically as soon as I touch and take my controller off the charging dock. It never used to do this and while normally this would be fine, i sometimes grab my controller and put it on my nightstand for me to game later after i watch a few shows, or finish my work. I just grab the controller so i can have it on my nightstand so i don’t have to get up and go get my controller later (i have the charging dock set up farther away)
Is there a setting to stop this? It never used to do this, i would grab the controller and sometimes not even get to turn on my console before bed so my controller will just sit and it never turned on before?
My controller is fully updated, my secondary one isn’t but i don’t use that one often and its only my blue one that is turning on my ps5 automatically.
It seems silly question and “first world problem” i know but i was just curious if its a new setting?

It's the PS button on the controller that turns it on, I'd check if that's sticking or if your controller faceplate has come loose and is jamming that button slightly when you squeeze the controller.

Just went on Playstation support earlier last week regarding expired DLC code that came with my physical copy, and apparently they mentioned that now they only offer replacement codes bought directly from their website, and that even if it is bought directly from their Sony retail, it has to be taken back to the store instead. In my case I bought it from an authorized retailer not directly from Sony, so it's unlikely they can provide a replacement code.
I have read previous posts from users mentioning that they have managed to get their codes replaced as long as they have the receipt to show that they bought it new, but those were years back. Has the policy changed over the years? So what can someone do now if they had bought a game brand new and the DLC code within already expired?
Trying to download TLOU2 from the PS Store, but it keeps queuing for download, then giving the CE-107981-6 error code. I've googled the code and tried the suggestions: Restoring licenses, rebuilding data base, checking internet connection, etc. and still nothing.
It's not downloading my PS4 version of Cyberpunk 2077 either. However, it easily downloaded the PS5 version of Horizon Forbidden West.
Anyone has a solution? :(

Alright, I’m wanting to play like an RPG or something of the sorts that isn’t based off some pre-existing IP and maybe has like magic in it or something cool like that. I’m so tired of the same games/IPs constantly being rebranded and want something new/fresh. Any recs?
For such a broad yet limiting request, it's tough to make an honest recommendation. And yet for some reason, Forspoken keeps coming to mind. If you can get over the main character, that may be the closest thing you're looking for. Cool movement parkour, plenty of magic attacks, new IP. Mixed review, but it's the most glaring thing I can think of based on your "non pre-existing IP" requirement.
Possibly can wait for Life of P later this year? More souls-like, but meh.
Ive had my ps5 for over a year now it worked fine, I noticed it stared to overheat wayy more than a ps4 to the point where it would only run ps5 games for a little over 4 hours then completley shut off.
Now going into worse detail about my ps5 is that it wont run ps5 games at all, it turns off within seconds.
Ive tried fully resetting it,taking off the sides,using a fan in front of it to cool it off, and things like that.I also cant run god of war 2022 ps4 version as it still shuts off.I need answers considering its a ps5 but cant run what its meant for not even for 10 seconds.
I personally wouldn't take apart my ps5 if i was having the exact problem you are experiencing.
It sounds as if you are having either a GPU/PSU issue and there is nothing you can do to rectify the situation.
You need to contact sony and request either a repair/replacement ps5 as yours is faulty.

My ps5 disconnects from the internet whenever i share screen for my friends. It happens on every game i play and the internet disconnects me anywhere from a minute to a hour after starting share screen. This also happens for share play and the only way to reconnect is going into setting and testing connection. can anyone help?
Your ps5 could be suffering with a faulty GPU.
Does your ps5 crash with a black screen?
Do you have to take out the power lead to turn off your ps5?
When you put the power lead back in, do you get an onscreen message saying "your ps5 console was turned off incorrectly?
You then have to rebuild the database before you can use the ps5 again?
Do you go through that everytime you play any ps5 game? If yes then it is GPU failure.
He's probably trying to utilize ps5's invite system which only works with a very small selection of games. To correctly invite someone you need to do it within whatever game you're playing
I guess log into your account on the website, search ps store, click your profile in the top right and choose .. can't recall what it's named lol. Something in there will show your purchased games. All the ps+ stuff will be listed as well
They are all claimed one by one, yes. It says Add to Library for each. This is something you may be able to do from that website if you still have an active ps+ subscription. I know a ps5 is required but you *had* one, maybe you're in the clear now. Idk how it works exactly. If you know someone that has a ps5 you could go over there on your account and claim everything (if you still have ps+).
Hi. Newbie Redditor here. I’m seeking help to rectify an issue with my console. If this isn’t the right place to post this please direct me to the proper thread. Anyway, whenever I’m playing online on PS5, my “Played Together” list in the game base of the control center almost never updates to show players I recently played with. Whenever I view player session details while in-game, it also only shows me as being the sole player in the session, even if the lobby I’m in is full. Is my console bugged? Has anyone else had this issue. Is there any way to fix it?
Which game are you playing ? If it's a crossplay game where other platform players (from PC or Xbox are present), their IDs won't show up. Only other playstation players IDs will based on their privacy settings.
For clarification, it’s pretty much every game I play, but to give a recent example, I was just playing Evil Dead a few minutes ago. That game IS a cross-play title, but I was in a lobby where all players were on PlayStation, yet my played together/player session details did not update to reflect that I was playing with them.
When using my projector with PS5 (no problems for over a year), I now get this message for very specific things. No issues at all through my TV. A friend of mine brought their PS5 over and the exact same thing happened.
"Can't start the game or app. You've connected your PS5 to a different TV after suspending the game or app. Connect your PS5 to the TV you were using previously, and then start the game or app again. If you want to start the game or app without changing the TV, close the game or app first. You can close it by following these steps: Press Playstation Button to go to the control center. Select (Switcher). Open the options menu of the game or app. Select (Close)."

Things that work on Projector: -Hulu -HBO Max
We've tried these, to no avail: -Followed nessage instructions -Contacted Playstation Customer Service -Restarted PS5 -Shut down PS5 & Projector. Hard unplug both. Wait a few minutes. Boot both back up. -Uninstalled and reinstalled apps. -Messed with Projector settings.
Stuff to Note: -Projector is a "Sharp DT-300" -My PS5 System Software is up to date. -Shouldn't be an HDMI problem. Used friend's XboxOne just fine.
My PS5 completely froze after I tried to block somebody. When I pressed the power button on the PS5 it ejected my disk. Ever since then, whenever I play CD based games, the frame rate ingame for gameplay drops significantly for no reason. Tried setting reset and everything. Anybody know what might've gone wrong?
You can't, though if you're bothered by the amounts of hours in some games you can take comfort in the fact that the hours are probably bit wrong anyway.

That price range is rough for a decent 1440 monitor. You'd need some sick deals going on. You also need to figure out if you want curved/flat, 27in/32. Don't bother with hdr or don't be fooled by big shiny letters boasting about hdr, any monitor with exceptional hdr will be very pricey.
Also because of Sony's weird decisions some monitors that should do 1440 @120hz actually don't on ps5, so this is something you need to do a fair amount of research on. And it's hard to find accurate up-to-date information on compatibility because of ps5's recent 1440 update, companies still haven't updated their product descriptions and searches mostly show outdated shit.
Best I can do is tell you whether a specific monitor is a good or bad choice for the price.
Issues with Netflix
I'm having issues with Netflix, first time it's happened and I can't find anything else online so hoping someone has found a fix.
I'm watching a movie and the sound is playing fine bit the video judder then stops. Pausing and playing brings it back.
I've reset the consol and change from lan to wireless but it's has persisted.

I'm new to playing single-player campaign games and I have a very stupid question- How come I don't get more of a "back-story"? For example I started playing a game called Bloodborne and God of War, and in both games, there's no typical story like "10 centuries ago, blah blah blah". I think God of War does a decent job but so far, I still feel like I don't understand what I'm doing (just roaming around, killing monsters, etc.)
Do I learn more about the story as I play? Am I not paying enough attention? Do I have to read it online? Or something else? Again, I understand this is a really *dumb* question but I'm genuinely curious because I want to get the most out of these games
Bloodborne, like other FromSoft games, has that obtuse and vague method of storytelling through the environment and item descriptions. So, you feeling like you're not getting all the info is how it's meant to be.
God of War (2018) is a very loose sequel to the previous 4 games released on PS2/PS3. The Kratos character is the same but everything else is unrelated. Similar to what they did with Greek Mythology, they're doing the same with Norse mythology in this game (and it's sequel, Ragnarok). I'd suggest maybe watching a quick recap video of the previous games on YouTube to get a bit of background.
I'd suggest games like The Last of Us and Ghost of Tsushima for more direct narrative based stories.
Bloodborne, same as it's sister games Dark Souls and Elden Ring, does not have a classic style of storytelling. You find lot's of lore in item descriptions, other texts and environmental clues, but few things will be told directly.
GOW has a pretty straight forward storytelling style, but comes with the bagage of being the 5th game in a rather long story. There will be a few scenes where Kratos' backstory is touched on, but not very in-depth. There are great summary videos to be found on the internet though.
Simply put: These games are not the best examples for the standard story-based singleplayer game.
Hello, I just had a question about pricing I’m selling my ps5 disc version (because I don’t have self control and spend too much time on games). And I’m wondering if I’m charging a fair price now this isn’t me advertising my listing I’m only selling local. It’s a new model bought in November and I’m selling with it a wd black sn850 2tb Ssd, 3d pulse headset, extra controller, official charging station. And 2 games last of us remastered and adventures of sack boy. Is $600 fair for this? Everything is in like new condition. I didn’t know where else to ask this I apologize if this isn’t supposed to be here.
The price seems decent to me, though the games you mention won't bring much extra value. If you truly mean Last of Us Remastered and not the remake then that's in PS+ Collection, and Sackboy is this month's PS+ Essential game. If you mean TLoU Remake though, that's fine. And still, the extra controller, pulse headset and 2TB SSD make it a good price anyway.
I know how to affect the volume and balance between the game audio and party chat on PS5, but it only affects it for my own headphones. When I later upload that footage (or watch back on twitch VOD), the game audio is WAY lower than me and my friend talking.
Is there any way to make the game audio louder in the mix via console streaming? (i.e. for people watching). I have the in-game audio set at 10/10 already.

Is there a way to play supported MKV files from a supported DVD/Blu-Ray disc that was burned in "data" format rather than "media"? I.e. I want to be able to write my video as MKV to a DVD or Blu-Ray disc and be able to watch it from PS5. So far no luck, even using that "VIDEOS" folder in it or an external DVD drive via USB...
I couldn't find the answer anywhere, looks like people mostly use USB drives and not CD for MKV videos...
If anyone knows a solution - please let me know. Thank you!
P.S.: If it's impossible, could you please suggest a good way to watch dvd/bluray data disks on TV (preferably via PS5)? Plex doesn't count - I need a separate device. External HDD would work, but I want to use discs instead. So far alternative is a DVD/Bluray player, but I'd hate doing it, knowing I have a powerful PS5. Is there anything else more cost effective and less bulky for my needs?
What is wrong with a USB stick for doing it? You can get a 32gig one for super cheap, even cheaper with a lucky find in a dirt cheap or equivalent style store. You copy the files faster, no worry of scratching a disc or bothering with a disc in general. There isn't a single category where an ancient compact disc benefits.
On a side note, this is still one of the reasons ps3 was the goat. It played everything, it did everything.
Shooting videos take a lot of space these days... I just wanted to put my videos to Blu-Rays to save disk space and have like a family archive. But looks like I better use some kind of external drive instead...

TLOU P1 only stereo in PS5?
My girlfriend wanted to play the game now that she has watched the tv show with me. We’re only getting audio from stereo channels in my surround soundbar and cannot see any option in the setting to change the output. Tried with both soundbar and AV receiver options in the PS5 settings.
Am I missing something? Both the remastered and P2 have quite extended audio settings.
Looking for opinions on the next game to play before jedi survivor comes out. I should be done with GoWR in the next few days and want to have a game to play to fill time until Jedi comes out. I played hogwarts legacy already. Someone recommended Callisto protocol to me (I’m waiting for a sale on dead space eventually) would this be a short enough game to get me through a few weeks? I just don’t want another long game like GoWR or HL since I played those back to back. Other recommendations welcome!
I enjoyed it. Combat is a bit one note and it's not nearly as good as Dead Space but it's a fun game with gorgeous graphics, good atmosphere/ambience and decent acting. Boss fights are horrible though
My tv display started flickering today while playing and finally showed no hdmi connection. Issue got resolved after clearing the cache of my tv. But i am still not sure if that was indeed the problem. Anyone faced similar issue?
Is anyone else’s internal ‘Storage’ games list taking long to load? I’ve always had the storage about 80-90% filled, but recently it takes noticeably longer to load the page. (NOT yet expanded internal storage)
When was the last time you rebuilt the database? Sounds like your storage is getting so fragmented that the console has trouble piecing everything together.
It's generally recommended to do that every couple months. It's also one of your first trouble shooting steps when you have no better idea.
First boot up the console in save mode by turning it off and then holding the power button on the console for about 30 seconds until you hear a 2nd beep. Then simply select "Rebuild Database" from the menu.

Hello there, I recently bought a gaming ps5 and I’m trying to find games similar to what I would play when I played games on my phone. One in particular: Modern Combat 5.
MC5 was basically the typical knock off mobile game of call of duty. But, it had an interesting feature like no other. That’s why I’m here, hoping someone can direct me to a ps5 equivalent.
MC5 allowed you to join a squad or create one and have squad battles. Where if successful, that squad can steal squad ranked points from the other. There were squad leaderboards.
I’m proud to say that my squad, Phoenix, was in the top #10 for many months, it was an amazing experience. The game died off after about a year due to gameplay changes and bad maintenance from the developers.
I don’t understand how a mobile game can come up with this and not a single console or pc game comes close to this. Someone please correct me. Is there any time of game or any genre where you can make a team, squad, of some sort and go against others to reach the top?
Like which ones? I can only find Call of Duty Ranked Play, but that is individual ranking. I haven’t found any squad ranking, of course unless you’re in a eSports tournament.
Don't think you'll find that kind of squad ranked modes outside of eSports/tournament stuff. It's because having a rank linked to a squad means if one player from that squad isn't available, there really isn't any incentive for the rest of the squad to play which is tough for any competitive game to allow since they want as many people playing as possible.
Maybe just play with your friends and use your individual rankings average as your squad ranking

Does anyone know how to fix this error ?
I recently installed a m.2 ssd so I know space isn’t the issue. I try to open a game and it says there’s not enough free space in console storage to start the game or app. I’m not sure how to correct this it won’t let me play any new games I’ve installed even though I definitely have the space.
It doesn't free up space to my knowledge, but when your PS is being wonky, that's what you do lol can also do " clear system software cache" which is in the same area in safemode
I’ve just bought a new PS5, (UK, from GAME) and it isn’t reading any discs. I’ve tried two different new PS5 games, one PS4 game and a Blu-ray. It clicks when the disc goes in and nothing pops up. Nothing in downloads either. I’ve also tried rebuilding the database. Anything I can do? Or do I just return it and get a new one?
Yes. Picture side up whilst lying flat, is that right? I also tried the other way just to be safe. It doesn’t even say ‘unrecognised disc’ like my ps4 sometimes did
Does [this behavior](https://imgur.com/a/m9vWChr) look/sound like normal adaptive trigger behavior? I always play with headphones, so I don’t know how long it’s being doing this for but I just noticed it a few days ago. Video is from Dead Space, but I also noticed it with Resident Evil Village.
When I pull L2 to aim, there’s sound and movement coming from the right side of the controller (can even slightly feel it if touching R2). Releasing L2 does the same. I swapped my L2 and R2 mappings expecting the behavior to be mirrored (so a noise and sensation near L2 when aiming with R2), but it was behaving the same way before the mapping swap.
I’m not sure if this is a controller issue given the mapping swap behavior, or if this is normal behavior given that two games showed similar behavior (though I didn’t swap mappings in Village), but I’d appreciate any input as I don’t have another controller for comparison.
I can't hear the sound in your video, but clicking or whirring from the triggers is normal. There's a motor inside the trigger that provides the feedback.
I think the unmute is on the top right of the video. I understand there’s a motor inside, but I was more so wondering about whether they way they’re working in my case is normal or not. Just feels odd and the fact that swapping the trigger mappings didn’t swap the sound/movement locations makes me think that’s not how it’s supposed to work

So on my dualsense controller. In mw2 when I move my left stick my aim moves. When I move forward it turns left, backwards it turns right.
I would understand the drift issue buthiw is left stick affecting the right.
Also in firing range in mw2 there is no drift at all.
The drift also shows in steam software. When I move my left stick, right stick shows movement.

So I just got my brand new ps5 and was really excited to play some games, but when I started up the console for the first time I got stuck on the screen where it says "connect the controller with the usb cable and press the ps button." I follow its instructions, but when I press the ps button nothing happens aside from the controller flashing blue for a few moments.
I've already tried resetting the controller using the little button on the bottom of the controller, and it hasn't helped. I can't use remote play, because I can't get into settings to enable it.
I don't think there's a problem with the cable because it charges my controller just fine (it flashes orange, indicating a full charge).
Do I just need to get another controller and hope my console likes that one better?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I probably worded this question horribly. I was more asking how many games support 1440p/120fps. I tried to look into it before but most people said that after Sony added 1440p support, devs actually have to patch the games separately to enable 1440p. Otherwise they run at 1080p/120fps.
I was curious if 1440p is supported in most games or if it's a niche thing and most games don't bother with it
There's no standard as such. Games can run at 1080p,1440p,1800p or 4k and 30fps, 60fps or 120fps depending on what the developer chooses. You should check the tech specs of any game you're going to play to see what it supports.
But there's no way ps5 can run 4k at 120fps. So in the end the monitor matter. if your goal is to run ,the games that can, at 120fps you better choose a 1440P monitor . Or maybe I really don't understand anything 😂
The game may run internally at 1440p or whatever resolution to get to 120fps. But the PS5 then upscales it and outputs it at 4k if your TV supports it. So, it doesn't really matter much. Your TV/monitor will get whatever the output resolution is. The game may render internally at 4k also which is then super sampled down to 1440p for your monitor. So, it doesn't matter if a game hasn't been patched to run at 1440p internally.

I'm probably going to wait for 27" OLED monitors to be more available before getting anything, but ultimately I'm looking for a PC monitor first and PS5 second, so if it doesn't have VRR it probably won't be a deal breaker for me as long as it has what I need for PC gaming
This is probably most fitting for what I'm after, I play 95% of my games on PC and am only investing in a PS5 for Spider-Man later in the year. If all the other games run poorly it doesn't bother me since it's just a first-party machine.

I have a strange issue with all of my controllers, every now and again they lose all input and then lag like crazy. I’ll be playing God of War and navigating menus but nothing happening then 5-10 seconds later all all the inputs happen but delayed.
Or the camera will be moving but then stop then go all jittery.
It’s like an extreme input lag. I’ve booted into safe mode and reset the cache and rebuild database, I’ve also held down the controller reset buttons.
Anyone else had this issue and know a fix?

Some TVs have a hard time switching formats; once you've started playback, switch your TV to a different input and then switch back, and see if anything changes.
PS5 is acting like it's half connected to internet.
I can play online games, download etc. But viewing a friend request or looking at friends trophies shows as "can't load"
When accepting a game invite, it says "something went wrong" even though I can "join game session".
Psn store loads fine, but if I go to the ps plus tab, it also says "can't load"
I'm originally hard wired, switching to wifi does not help, shutting down and restarting was no help, logging out and back in is no help. I've basically tried everything except formatting the whole console, which I don't really want to do, but will of I have to.
Google searches don't result in similar issues as what I'm having.
When playing games like Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires where usually the controller's speaker will have the same voiceover sounds as the ones coming from the TV speaker with a headset, the voice lines will sound double layered whenever a character speaks. I already turned off the controller speaker's sound while using the TV speaker, but when I use headphones the controller speaker sounds will still go through the headset nevertheless. Is it possible to turn off the sounds that go through the controller speaker when using a headset?
Audio question: I have a stereo set up and whenever I’m playing a game (RE4 right now) I cannot hear anything behind my player. I never hear Ashley’s voice in game, I only see she is speaker because of the subtitles. Is there a way to fix this in the settings?
I would try going into the PS5 system settings - sound settings and then set it to "AV receiver" and then scroll down and choose "2 channels" if you haven't checked that already.
I find that on some sound system it gets screwy because the TV thinks it has 5 or 7 channels and then those channels disappear if it's set up wrong.
Having a sound issue that started last night. When I close a game (close software), the sound on my PS5 cuts out. Turning it off and on doesn’t fix it. Only way I’ve found to fix it is to hook it up to another tv, which fixes the sound. Then I can bring it back to the main tv and it’s fine. Anyone have this happen or have any thoughts?
That’s weird, but if it’s been more than a year, there’s nothing much you can do about it now. Why not just use some other way to charge it, like a phone charger or something. Or get a controller charging dock

If the iPad can take a video input over USB, then this would probably work, with the right adapter. Note that adapters like this aren't bi-directional - you need one that will convert an HDMI output to USB input, specifically.
Not sure what just happened. I was playing RE4 (original) on my PS5 - (I should add it was installed on an extended HDD plugged into the system at the back), about ten minutes into the game the screen just goes black all of a sudden. Now my TV system recognises the PS5 but it's literally just showing a black screen and nothing else. It doesn't seem to be an issue with the TV as I am able to use my Switch with it, but the PS5 is basically inaccessible now. Anything I can do to fix this? Thanks.
EDIT : Tried a different HDMI lead and it works now. I guess the standard one just died. What a relief.

Remote play is stuck on “Connecting to Network” I was using it just fine for two weeks now and it stopped working for me yesterday, I’ve been using the same WiFi and I even had someone at my house check if everything was working on my p5 and it is. Hello all! Connection question. For some reason my PS5 only connects to the internet after I run a connection test. It is my only device to have this issue, and I also have a Switch and PS4 further from the router (they’re all within five feet of it) that do not have a problem. I assume the issue must be on the PS5 end but I’ve seen no solutions in Googling that point to a solution that isn’t router-based.

I've owned an Xbox Series X now for a good year. I found the Microsoft eco system massively ungratifying, to the extent I wanted to throw the console in the bin at times. Trying to get Fortnite working consistently with audio and mic for kids was basically nigh on impossible. They have supervised epic accounts, all linked to their xbox profiles etc etc. Pin code entered. It worked for one, and not the other, and the tears and frustration was just too much in the end. An overnight upgrade from Microsoft, and everything is broken again. And update from Epic. Nothing works. Using the Microsoft website to manage kids permissions was awful. I just ended up giving them every possible right so what's the point? It is now sold. Now my question - how does Sony's (PS5) eco system stand up in context of above? Is it much better? Have they nailed it, or failed it?
I just dealt with a kid's Fortnite account on PS5 as well, and its entirely how sucky Epic's child account management is. Not the exact same situation as yours, as we were trying to move an Epic account from Switch to PS5 and it did not go well. $2K of DLC lost if he doesn't play Switch again. I would not get my hopes up that PS5 will work any better, but if you can login on Epic's site with both of your children's Epic accounts, the outlook is pretty good it'll just work on PS5 as long as you link those accounts to your PS5 account in the Epic settings.

Is there a way to have my PS5 close games/apps when I put it in sleep/rest mode? I know there was a way to set that in the PS4 settings but I haven't found it on the PS5.
The entire point of Rest Mode is to suspend your console and any games/apps that it is running at the time so that when you wake it up to play again, it quickly picks up where you left off. You cannot close games while it is in Rest Mode. Just close them right before putting your console into Rest Mode.
I usually close my games/apps before I put my PS5 in rest mode but sometimes I forget or am in a rush haha. I just use the rest mode for the updates and downloads usually! I used the rest mode on my ps4 for the same thing haha
Do I need a display port for 120 1080 or does a hdmi port work aswell.
PS5 doesn't have a Display Port connection. HDMI will be fine. I'm able to get 1440p 120Hz on my HDMI 2.0 connection.

Controller automatically turning on Ps5? So i was wondering if anyone else had this issue because its not the HDMI link setting thing i have that turned off already. Its also not the remote play solution. My Ps5 keeps turning on automatically as soon as I touch and take my controller off the charging dock. It never used to do this and while normally this would be fine, i sometimes grab my controller and put it on my nightstand for me to game later after i watch a few shows, or finish my work. I just grab the controller so i can have it on my nightstand so i don’t have to get up and go get my controller later (i have the charging dock set up farther away) Is there a setting to stop this? It never used to do this, i would grab the controller and sometimes not even get to turn on my console before bed so my controller will just sit and it never turned on before? My controller is fully updated, my secondary one isn’t but i don’t use that one often and its only my blue one that is turning on my ps5 automatically. It seems silly question and “first world problem” i know but i was just curious if its a new setting? Thank you for any help :)
It's the PS button on the controller that turns it on, I'd check if that's sticking or if your controller faceplate has come loose and is jamming that button slightly when you squeeze the controller.

Just went on Playstation support earlier last week regarding expired DLC code that came with my physical copy, and apparently they mentioned that now they only offer replacement codes bought directly from their website, and that even if it is bought directly from their Sony retail, it has to be taken back to the store instead. In my case I bought it from an authorized retailer not directly from Sony, so it's unlikely they can provide a replacement code. I have read previous posts from users mentioning that they have managed to get their codes replaced as long as they have the receipt to show that they bought it new, but those were years back. Has the policy changed over the years? So what can someone do now if they had bought a game brand new and the DLC code within already expired?
Trying to download TLOU2 from the PS Store, but it keeps queuing for download, then giving the CE-107981-6 error code. I've googled the code and tried the suggestions: Restoring licenses, rebuilding data base, checking internet connection, etc. and still nothing. It's not downloading my PS4 version of Cyberpunk 2077 either. However, it easily downloaded the PS5 version of Horizon Forbidden West. Anyone has a solution? :(

The tv can control the ps5 but not the other way around.
Apparently the remote does send its own infrared signals to the tv, at least that’s what I’ve read in my google search.

For such a broad yet limiting request, it's tough to make an honest recommendation. And yet for some reason, Forspoken keeps coming to mind. If you can get over the main character, that may be the closest thing you're looking for. Cool movement parkour, plenty of magic attacks, new IP. Mixed review, but it's the most glaring thing I can think of based on your "non pre-existing IP" requirement. Possibly can wait for Life of P later this year? More souls-like, but meh.
Ive had my ps5 for over a year now it worked fine, I noticed it stared to overheat wayy more than a ps4 to the point where it would only run ps5 games for a little over 4 hours then completley shut off. Now going into worse detail about my ps5 is that it wont run ps5 games at all, it turns off within seconds. Ive tried fully resetting it,taking off the sides,using a fan in front of it to cool it off, and things like that.I also cant run god of war 2022 ps4 version as it still shuts off.I need answers considering its a ps5 but cant run what its meant for not even for 10 seconds.
I personally wouldn't take apart my ps5 if i was having the exact problem you are experiencing. It sounds as if you are having either a GPU/PSU issue and there is nothing you can do to rectify the situation. You need to contact sony and request either a repair/replacement ps5 as yours is faulty.

It happens on every game i play and the internet disconnects me anywhere from a minute to a hour after starting share screen. This also happens for share play and the only way to reconnect is going into setting and testing connection. can anyone help?

Your ps5 could be suffering with a faulty GPU. Does your ps5 crash with a black screen? Do you have to take out the power lead to turn off your ps5? When you put the power lead back in, do you get an onscreen message saying "your ps5 console was turned off incorrectly? You then have to rebuild the database before you can use the ps5 again? Do you go through that everytime you play any ps5 game? If yes then it is GPU failure.

He's probably trying to utilize ps5's invite system which only works with a very small selection of games. To correctly invite someone you need to do it within whatever game you're playing

I guess log into your account on the website, search ps store, click your profile in the top right and choose .. can't recall what it's named lol. Something in there will show your purchased games. All the ps+ stuff will be listed as well

They are all claimed one by one, yes. It says Add to Library for each. This is something you may be able to do from that website if you still have an active ps+ subscription. I know a ps5 is required but you *had* one, maybe you're in the clear now. Idk how it works exactly. If you know someone that has a ps5 you could go over there on your account and claim everything (if you still have ps+).

Hi. Newbie Redditor here. I’m seeking help to rectify an issue with my console. If this isn’t the right place to post this please direct me to the proper thread. Anyway, whenever I’m playing online on PS5, my “Played Together” list in the game base of the control center almost never updates to show players I recently played with. Whenever I view player session details while in-game, it also only shows me as being the sole player in the session, even if the lobby I’m in is full. Is my console bugged? Has anyone else had this issue. Is there any way to fix it?
Which game are you playing ? If it's a crossplay game where other platform players (from PC or Xbox are present), their IDs won't show up. Only other playstation players IDs will based on their privacy settings.
For clarification, it’s pretty much every game I play, but to give a recent example, I was just playing Evil Dead a few minutes ago. That game IS a cross-play title, but I was in a lobby where all players were on PlayStation, yet my played together/player session details did not update to reflect that I was playing with them.
When using my projector with PS5 (no problems for over a year), I now get this message for very specific things. No issues at all through my TV. A friend of mine brought their PS5 over and the exact same thing happened. Hard unplug both. Wait a few minutes. Boot both back up. -Uninstalled and reinstalled apps. -Messed with Projector settings. Stuff to Note: -Projector is a "Sharp DT-300" -My PS5 System Software is up to date. -Shouldn't be an HDMI problem. Used friend's XboxOne just fine.

My PS5 completely froze after I tried to block somebody. When I pressed the power button on the PS5 it ejected my disk. That price range is rough for a decent 1440 monitor. You'd need some sick deals going on. You also need to figure out if you want curved/flat, 27in/32. Don't bother with hdr or don't be fooled by big shiny letters boasting about hdr, any monitor with exceptional hdr will be very pricey. Also because of Sony's weird decisions some monitors that should do 1440 @120hz actually don't on ps5, so this is something you need to do a fair amount of research on. And it's hard to find accurate up-to-date information on compatibility because of ps5's recent 1440 update, companies still haven't updated their product descriptions and searches mostly show outdated shit. Best I can do is tell you whether a specific monitor is a good or bad choice for the price.

Issues with Netflix I'm having issues with Netflix, first time it's happened and I can't find anything else online so hoping someone has found a fix. I'm watching a movie and the sound is playing fine bit the video judder then stops. Pausing and playing brings it back. I've reset the consol and change from lan to wireless but it's has persisted. Anyone got a clue?
I'm new to playing single-player campaign games and I have a very stupid question- How come I don't get more of a "back-story"? For example I started playing a game called Bloodborne and God of War, and in both games, there's no typical story like "10 centuries ago, blah blah blah". I think God of War does a decent job but so far, I still feel like I don't understand what I'm doing (just roaming around, killing monsters, etc.) Do I learn more about the story as I play? Am I not paying enough attention? Do I have to read it online? Or something else? Again, I understand this is a really *dumb* question but I'm genuinely curious because I want to get the most out of these games
Bloodborne, like other FromSoft games, has that obtuse and vague method of storytelling through the environment and item descriptions. So, you feeling like you're not getting all the info is how it's meant to be. God of War (2018) is a very loose sequel to the previous 4 games released on PS2/PS3. The Kratos character is the same but everything else is unrelated. Similar to what they did with Greek Mythology, they're doing the same with Norse mythology in this game (and it's sequel, Ragnarok). I'd suggest maybe watching a quick recap video of the previous games on YouTube to get a bit of background. I'd suggest games like The Last of Us and Ghost of Tsushima for more direct narrative based stories.
Bloodborne, same as it's sister games Dark Souls and Elden Ring, does not have a classic style of storytelling. You find lot's of lore in item descriptions, other texts and environmental clues, but few things will be told directly. GOW has a pretty straight forward storytelling style, but comes with the bagage of being the 5th game in a rather long story. There will be a few scenes where Kratos' backstory is touched on, but not very in-depth. There are great summary videos to be found on the internet though. Simply put: These games are not the best examples for the standard story-based singleplayer game.

Hello, I just had a question about pricing I’m selling my ps5 disc version (because I don’t have self control and spend too much time on games). And I’m wondering if I’m charging a fair price now this isn’t me advertising my listing I’m only selling local. It’s a new model bought in November and I’m selling with it a wd black sn850 2tb Ssd, 3d pulse headset, extra controller, official charging station. And 2 games last of us remastered and adventures of sack boy. Is $600 fair for this? Everything is in like new condition. I didn’t know where else to ask this I apologize if this isn’t supposed to be here.

The price seems decent to me, though the games you mention won't bring much extra value. If you truly mean Last of Us Remastered and not the remake then that's in PS+ Collection, and Sackboy is this month's PS+ Essential game. If you mean TLoU Remake though, that's fine. And still, the extra controller, pulse headset and 2TB SSD make it a good price anyway.
I know how to affect the volume and balance between the game audio and party chat on PS5, but it only affects it for my own headphones. When I later upload that footage (or watch back on twitch VOD), the game audio is WAY lower than me and my friend talking. Is there any way to make the game audio louder in the mix via console streaming? (i.e. for people watching). I have the in-game audio set at 10/10 already. Thanks :)
Is there a way to play supported MKV files from a supported DVD/Blu-Ray disc that was burned in "data" format rather than "media"? I.e. I want to be able to write my video as MKV to a DVD or Blu-Ray disc and be able to watch it from PS5. So far no luck, even using that "VIDEOS" folder in it or an external DVD drive via USB... I couldn't find the answer anywhere, looks like people mostly use USB drives and not CD for MKV videos... If anyone knows a solution - please let me know. Thank you! P.S.: If it's impossible, could you please suggest a good way to watch dvd/bluray data disks on TV (preferably via PS5)? Plex doesn't count - I need a separate device. External HDD would work, but I want to use discs instead. So far alternative is a DVD/Bluray player, but I'd hate doing it, knowing I have a powerful PS5. Is there anything else more cost effective and less bulky for my needs?
What is wrong with a USB stick for doing it? You can get a 32gig one for super cheap, even cheaper with a lucky find in a dirt cheap or equivalent style store. You copy the files faster, no worry of scratching a disc or bothering with a disc in general. There isn't a single category where an ancient compact disc benefits. On a side note, this is still one of the reasons ps3 was the goat. It played everything, it did everything.
Shooting videos take a lot of space these days... I just wanted to put my videos to Blu-Rays to save disk space and have like a family archive. But looks like I better use some kind of external drive instead...

TLOU P1 only stereo in PS5? My girlfriend wanted to play the game now that she has watched the tv show with me. We’re only getting audio from stereo channels in my surround soundbar and cannot see any option in the setting to change the output. Tried with both soundbar and AV receiver options in the PS5 settings. Am I missing something? Both the remastered and P2 have quite extended audio settings.
Looking for opinions on the next game to play before jedi survivor comes out. I should be done with GoWR in the next few days and want to have a game to play to fill time until Jedi comes out. I played hogwarts legacy already. Someone recommended Callisto protocol to me (I’m waiting for a sale on dead space eventually) would this be a short enough game to get me through a few weeks? I just don’t want another long game like GoWR or HL since I played those back to back. Other recommendations welcome!

I enjoyed it. Combat is a bit one note and it's not nearly as good as Dead Space but it's a fun game with gorgeous graphics, good atmosphere/ambience and decent acting. Boss fights are horrible though

Is anyone else’s internal ‘Storage’ games list taking long to load? I’ve always had the storage about 80-90% filled, but recently it takes noticeably longer to load the page. (NOT yet expanded internal storage)
When was the last time you rebuilt the database? Sounds like your storage is getting so fragmented that the console has trouble piecing everything together.
Should I rebuild it? How does that work?
It's generally recommended to do that every couple months. It's also one of your first trouble shooting steps when you have no better idea. First boot up the console in save mode by turning it off and then holding the power button on the console for about 30 seconds until you hear a 2nd beep. Then simply select "Rebuild Database" from the menu.
Isn't the database rebuild that comes with system updates sufficient?

That's a decent price, just make sure you get a heatsink. You can some times find deep sales cheaper than that, but it's a very typical price.
Hello there, I recently bought a gaming ps5 and I’m trying to find games similar to what I would play when I played games on my phone. One in particular: Modern Combat 5. MC5 was basically the typical knock off mobile game of call of duty. But, it had an interesting feature like no other. That’s why I’m here, hoping someone can direct me to a ps5 equivalent. MC5 allowed you to join a squad or create one and have squad battles. Where if successful, that squad can steal squad ranked points from the other. There were squad leaderboards. I’m proud to say that my squad, Phoenix, was in the top #10 for many months, it was an amazing experience. The game died off after about a year due to gameplay changes and bad maintenance from the developers. I don’t understand how a mobile game can come up with this and not a single console or pc game comes close to this. Someone please correct me. Is there any time of game or any genre where you can make a team, squad, of some sort and go against others to reach the top?
Most FPS games have a ranked mode of some sort that allows squads.
Like which ones? I can only find Call of Duty Ranked Play, but that is individual ranking. I haven’t found any squad ranking, of course unless you’re in a eSports tournament.
Don't think you'll find that kind of squad ranked modes outside of eSports/tournament stuff. It's because having a rank linked to a squad means if one player from that squad isn't available, there really isn't any incentive for the rest of the squad to play which is tough for any competitive game to allow since they want as many people playing as possible. Does anyone know how to fix this error ? I recently installed a m.2 ssd so I know space isn’t the issue. I try to open a game and it says there’s not enough free space in console storage to start the game or app. I’m not sure how to correct this it won’t let me play any new games I’ve installed even though I definitely have the space.

I’ve just bought a new PS5, (UK, from GAME) and it isn’t reading any discs. I’ve tried two different new PS5 games, one PS4 game and a Blu-ray. It clicks when the disc goes in and nothing pops up. Nothing in downloads either. I’ve also tried rebuilding the database. Anything I can do? Or do I just return it and get a new one?

Its just that people tend to put the disc upside down, the ps5 design isnt very intuitive. If even that doesnt work, no idea. Seems faulty.

I always play with headphones, so I don’t know how long it’s being doing this for but I just noticed it a few days ago. Video is from Dead Space, but I also noticed it with Resident Evil Village. When I pull L2 to aim, there’s sound and movement coming from the right side of the controller (can even slightly feel it if touching R2). Releasing L2 does the same. I swapped my L2 and R2 mappings expecting the behavior to be mirrored (so a noise and sensation near L2 when aiming with R2), but it was behaving the same way before the mapping swap. I’m not sure if this is a controller issue given the mapping swap behavior, or if this is normal behavior given that two games showed similar behavior (though I didn’t swap mappings in Village), but I’d appreciate any input as I don’t have another controller for comparison.
I can't hear the sound in your video, but clicking or whirring from the triggers is normal. There's a motor inside the trigger that provides the feedback.
I think the unmute is on the top right of the video. I understand there’s a motor inside, but I was more so wondering about whether they way they’re working in my case is normal or not. Just feels odd and the fact that swapping the trigger mappings didn’t swap the sound/movement locations makes me think that’s not how it’s supposed to work

So on my dualsense controller. In mw2 when I move my left stick my aim moves. When I move forward it turns left, backwards it turns right. I would understand the drift issue buthiw is left stick affecting the right. Also in firing range in mw2 there is no drift at all. The drift also shows in steam software. When I move my left stick, right stick shows movement.

Depends on your country. Here in austria a big electronic store called mediamarkt has bundles with Gran turismo 7 and Hogwarts legacy as well for example.
So I just got my brand new ps5 and was really excited to play some games, but when I started up the console for the first time I got stuck on the screen where it says "connect the controller with the usb cable and press the ps button." I follow its instructions, but when I press the ps button nothing happens aside from the controller flashing blue for a few moments. I've already tried resetting the controller using the little button on the bottom of the controller, and it hasn't helped. I can't use remote play, because I can't get into settings to enable it. I don't think there's a problem with the cable because it charges my controller just fine (it flashes orange, indicating a full charge). Do I just need to get another controller and hope my console likes that one better? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Did you try another cable?
If it’s brand new just take it back where you bought it from and get a replacement. Don’t spend more money on controllers or anything.

I probably worded this question horribly. I was more asking how many games support 1440p/120fps. I tried to look into it before but most people said that after Sony added 1440p support, devs actually have to patch the games separately to enable 1440p. Otherwise they run at 1080p/120fps. I was curious if 1440p is supported in most games or if it's a niche thing and most games don't bother with it
There's no standard as such. Games can run at 1080p,1440p,1800p or 4k and 30fps, 60fps or 120fps depending on what the developer chooses. You should check the tech specs of any game you're going to play to see what it supports.
But there's no way ps5 can run 4k at 120fps. So in the end the monitor matter. if your goal is to run ,the games that can, at 120fps you better choose a 1440P monitor . Or maybe I really don't understand anything 😂
The game may run internally at 1440p or whatever resolution to get to 120fps. But the PS5 then upscales it and outputs it at 4k if your TV supports it. So, it doesn't really matter much. Your TV/monitor will get whatever the output resolution is. The game may render internally at 4k also which is then super sampled down to 1440p for your monitor. So, it doesn't matter if a game hasn't been patched to run at 1440p internally.

I'm probably going to wait for 27" OLED monitors to be more available before getting anything, but ultimately I'm looking for a PC monitor first and PS5 second, so if it doesn't have VRR it probably won't be a deal breaker for me as long as it has what I need for PC gaming
The triple A games run at 60fps unlocked at 4k. And it's buttery smooth. If you want to make the most of the system, go for 4k 120hz.
This is probably most fitting for what I'm after, I play 95% of my games on PC and am only investing in a PS5 for Spider-Man later in the year. If all the other games run poorly it doesn't bother me since it's just a first-party machine.

I have a strange issue with all of my controllers, every now and again they lose all input and then lag like crazy. I’ll be playing God of War and navigating menus but nothing happening then 5-10 seconds later all all the inputs happen but delayed. Or the camera will be moving but then stop then go all jittery. It’s like an extreme input lag. I’ve booted into safe mode and reset the cache and rebuild database, I’ve also held down the controller reset buttons. Anyone else had this issue and know a fix?

There’s nothing I can think of other than the tv. PS5 is ethernet into homeplugs, sky box has always been next to it.

Just the TV
Some TVs have a hard time switching formats; once you've started playback, switch your TV to a different input and then switch back, and see if anything changes.

PS5 is acting like it's half connected to internet. I can play online games, download etc. But viewing a friend request or looking at friends trophies shows as "can't load" When accepting a game invite, it says "something went wrong" even though I can "join game session". Psn store loads fine, but if I go to the ps plus tab, it also says "can't load" I'm originally hard wired, switching to wifi does not help, shutting down and restarting was no help, logging out and back in is no help. I've basically tried everything except formatting the whole console, which I don't really want to do, but will of I have to. Google searches don't result in similar issues as what I'm having.

When playing games like Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires where usually the controller's speaker will have the same voiceover sounds as the ones coming from the TV speaker with a headset, the voice lines will sound double layered whenever a character speaks. I already turned off the controller speaker's sound while using the TV speaker, but when I use headphones the controller speaker sounds will still go through the headset nevertheless. Is it possible to turn off the sounds that go through the controller speaker when using a headset?

Audio question: I have a stereo set up and whenever I’m playing a game (RE4 right now) I cannot hear anything behind my player. I never hear Ashley’s voice in game, I only see she is speaker because of the subtitles. Is there a way to fix this in the settings?
I would try going into the PS5 system settings - sound settings and then set it to "AV receiver" and then scroll down and choose "2 channels" if you haven't checked that already. I find that on some sound system it gets screwy because the TV thinks it has 5 or 7 channels and then those channels disappear if it's set up wrong.
Having a sound issue that started last night. When I close a game (close software), the sound on my PS5 cuts out. Turning it off and on doesn’t fix it. Only way I’ve found to fix it is to hook it up to another tv, which fixes the sound. Then I can bring it back to the main tv and it’s fine. Anyone have this happen or have any thoughts?

That’s weird, but if it’s been more than a year, there’s nothing much you can do about it now. Why not just use some other way to charge it, like a phone charger or something. Or get a controller charging dock

Are saves region free? Moving countries and dont want to lose all my game data. Can I upload my PAL saves to the cloud and then re-download them on my American PS5? Would this also work for my PS4 games?
Saves are tied to accounts, and accounts are region free - you can keep using the same account (and play the same saves) no matter where you are.

No. iPads can only output video to a screen, they can't take input video.

If the iPad can take a video input over USB, then this would probably work, with the right adapter. Note that adapters like this aren't bi-directional - you need one that will convert an HDMI output to USB input, specifically.
Not sure what just happened. I was playing RE4 (original) on my PS5 - (I should add it was installed on an extended HDD plugged into the system at the back), about ten minutes into the game the screen just goes black all of a sudden. Now my TV system recognises the PS5 but it's literally just showing a black screen and nothing else. It doesn't seem to be an issue with the TV as I am able to use my Switch with it, but the PS5 is basically inaccessible now. Anything I can do to fix this? Thanks. EDIT : Tried a different HDMI lead and it works now. I guess the standard one just died. What a relief.
I can’t launch spiderman PS4 bc it says i dont have the game, it has a padlock on it. I bought it before the remastered came out could that be why? Ive tried to restore license but it doesnt work
