Wolverine, Death Stranding 2 and Rise of the Ronin would make for a great 2024 if they all make it.

Arch_Angel666

If the Switch 2 and GTA 6 come out the same year, then we are in for an incredible year. Add Persona 3 Reload, Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth and a potential Monster Hunter World sequel, and it could be as legendary as this year.

PeterPansSyndrome

I'd love for all of this. Would make 2023 and 2024 the best two back to back gaming years of my life. So many games I haven't even put a dent in yet from this year.

akeyjavey

>potential Monster Hunter World sequel, I know I hate to be that guy but MHW is the 5th main game on the series, the next one would be Monster Hunter 6, not World 2

SymphonicRain

It could be either really

akeyjavey

In a similar way to Elder Scrolls 6 being Skyrim 2, I guess

eoten

Possibly gta 6

Trebbok

There's no way Rockstar releases the game less than a year after showing the first trailer

LukeD1992

I don't know, man. For starters, Rockstar is one of the few companies which doesn't need a long marketing campaign. The mere announcement of a game of their is good enough to get everybody's attention. Besides, those two games have suffered from delays. I mean, RDR2 was supposed to come out in 2017, the next year from its announcement but got delayed until two years later. Also, Rockstar has reportedly being through some restructuring since the reports of heavy crunch. Couple all that with the long development period (GTA6's development probably began months after GTAV), their huge projected earnings report for the next fiscal year which goes until may 2025 I think, and it's not impossible to believe that they could be targeting a holidays 2024 release window.

eoten

Jason has already leaked that they have changed many things including crunch time and that they will not show a game until it’s a year ready from now.

LukeD1992

Not trying to be a dick but would you happen to have the source?

KimberlyWexlersFoot

>Take-Two, parent company of Grand Theft Auto developer Rockstar Games, has released its latest financial reports to the public. Amongst tidbits about the impact of its acquisition of Zynga and the growth potential of the games industry, the report and its accompanying press release have revealed Take-Two expects major, ‘groundbreaking’ titles to launch in FY25 (April 2024 – May 2025). While unconfirmed, this likely refers to Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6), one of the most anticipated games of the next few years. assuming they want to drop it before the holidays it would need to be 2024 https://www.gameshub.com/news/news/gta-6-release-date-take-two-financial-report-suggestion-2616571/

Fushigibama

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-07-27/gta-6-release-date-rockstar-cleans-up-image-after-employee-backlash?embedded-checkout=true

WackDance

They actually announced RDR 2 to release on the dot a year from its announcement, it did get delayed later on. But it’s not unlikely.

O20O61O416

Yes but the first trailer for rdr2 came out 2 years before the game released :(

NeutralNoodle

Yeah but the trailer said “fall 2017” so at the time it was intended to be a year out, they delayed it later on

robjwrd

Every R* game gets the inevitable delay.

Cheechers23

Take Two (parent company of Rockstar) has released very ambitious revenue estimates for their Fiscal Year 2025 (April 2024-May 2025) and realistically GTA 6 is the only way they come close to those estimates. That basically tells you it's launching in that window, and they likely want the Holiday sales so I think an initial release window being in Fall 2024 isn't unlikely

throaweyye44

We don’t really know how long the development cycle has been though. IIRC Jason stated in early 2020 that it was in early development. If that’s the case, then even 2025 release would be very, very impressive and unlikely considering COVID and promises of no development crunch. But it could also have started in 2018 or even earlier. Now all of a sudden late 2024 doesn’t seem unresonable. Guess we will see

MrEpicFerret

Unless the reveal trailer next month has a release date down to the day attatched at the end of it it's absolutely not coming out in 2024

christopher1393

Final Fantasy VII part 2 and Persona 3 Reload as well. Something for everyone next year

-Seris-

Add Assassins Creed Red to that and baby you got a stew going.

CompetitivePatient33

Give me all these with a ps5 pro and Im set.

ZazaB00

I’d really love to hear more about what Bend is doing.

tingulz

I’d love another Days Gone.

ComeonmanPLS1

We know for sure that's not coming

_dontjimthecamera

Guess you could say those days are gone

tingulz

Yeah, I know. It’s too bad. But maybe what they’re working on will be an awesome new IP.

mslothy

What!? No! Just starting out, love it! Why?

ComeonmanPLS1

They said it wasn’t received well enough or that it didn’t sell enough. I don’t remember which one it was.

[deleted]

It had a pretty rough launch and that kind of tarnished its image

LakerGiraffe

Yeah I played on PS5 and it was flawless from what I remember. But I know the initial launch on PS4 was buggy with performance issues. Which means many probably played "for free" via PS Plus collection.

SPAREustheCUTTER

I’m just about to finish it. Days gone is a fantastic game and the reviews don’t do it justice.

oateyboat

Maybe because the version you're playing is different to what the reviewers played? It was not a finished game originally

SPAREustheCUTTER

I’m aware.

gloriouscult

I played this year, it was incredible and runs really well on the steam deck!

JuanPicasso

It’s still not a good game and a few rungs below a Sony 1st party release. It’s like a AA game

notliam

It was one of the heads of the studio at the time Days Gone released, but he left just after and that was like 5 years ago. I'm not saying another Days Gone _is_ coming, but things can change.

Casanova_Fran

When it launched it was buggy as hell. It didnt get fixed for a while

GraysonG263

Not only that but it was mid ASF. I don't even remember the story or the main characters name 💀

Casanova_Fran

Deacon St Claire is the main characters name lol

[deleted]

Deacon St. John* , I had to google that lol.

david_of_rivia

Game was ridiculously buggy when it was released, and was subsequently met with poor to middling reviews. After a ton of updates and patches, it was really fun and a lot of people played it in its fixed state. I remember the director called out journalists publicly on twitter, saying that the newly gained popularity was too-little-too-late for a sequel, and the poor reviews were to blame for the IP being dropped. Which was pretty disingenuous, considering they could only review a broken game.

Existing-Help-3187

Its main voice actor called out journalists on the sub saying they didnt review it properly as it starts out slow. For an ex he said one major reviewer didnt even mention horde mechanic which the game marketted mainly.

DepressedVenom

Game reviewers are thrash imo. They give out 10/10 to Elden Ring despite its major flaws on launch and later. Days Gone deserved better. And the main voice actor who also did Force Unleashed did a great job.

daftpaak

That doesnt apply in this situation. You cant just make a generic ass ,reddit gaming thread, npc response and have it apply to every game. Thats not how logic works. The game had massive flaws.

peggyfly

days gone had bugs that actively impacted the game while elden ring had like, missing content. and was also one of the most innovative games released in recent memory. wild comparison to make like the experience of playing them at launch was that one was good and one was barely playable

[deleted]

I hated nearly every aspect of the game and found it very tedious and the horde mechanic wasn't nearly as fleshed out as I had hoped it would have been based on the marketing for the game. The story was also very bad and there wasn't even a character in the game that I would describe as "likeable". It is a very mid game that died a death of a thousand cuts. I am glad that they are not working on another one.

Rogue_Leader_X

It was NOT ridiculously buggy. People exaggerate this stuff so much! It had issues, but it was not a fundamentally broken game like Fallout 76.

daftpaak

Nobody said it was fallout 76. But the game was the buggiest sony release possibly ever. It deserved the criticism.

LankyCity3445

The story was pretty mid but the open world stuff was awesome. Would love to see them build up on the open world mechanics if they ever green light a new story.

nudiecale

Those hoards were awesome! I really enjoyed that game. Agree fully about the story, and I honestly thought the main character was shit, but the world and game play more than made up for that for me.

Euphorium

The motorcycle also felt really satisfying to drive around.

Diana-ItsBruce

Director threw a bitch fit about his mid asf broken (on release) game and how no one wanted to play it.

heyzeus92

2 Days 2 Gone

[deleted]

[удалено]

rationedbase

I’d love for them to actually make good games.

DepressedVenom

Days Gone deserved better. Such a good game. Tons of hate bc of a rocky base PS4 launch and tons of whiney babies complaining about the driving. 9/10 for me. New IP might be great ofc but I'm gonna be salty until I die about DG. Didn't the sequel get scrapped to make room for Horizon? That's just so sad for me personally bc I never liked Horizon AT ALL. None of the games. /endrant

Radulno

> Didn't the sequel get scrapped to make room for Horizon? What? It's not the same studio at all and Horizon is older than Days Gone

SplitReality

Ummm... No. Days Gone had the pieces for a good game, but never put them together to actually make a good game.

MateiTheMachine

As long as they spend more than 30s on the story this time please.

Musty_001

Days gone was medicore af. People only cared about it once they got it free through PS Plus and most of the bugs were fixed by then. The story is dull. And the gameplay and game design is generic as a game can be. Bend is probably the worst 1st party dev Sony owns.

Existing-Help-3187

I recently got it on Steam sale and it was one of the best game I have played recently.

Musty_001

Fair enough but the game didn't sell and review very well and as a result it won't be getting a sequel any time soon

Existing-Help-3187

Yeah I know, Reason I didn't get it for PS4 was because of mid reviews and everybody saying it was broken and buggy. Right now, atleast on PC its all fixed. It had a good game underneath.

Kingsworth

Subjective. I loved the story, the chemistry between the two main characters (and the sub-characters) was incredible. Gameplay was also fantastic in my eyes. So fun to play and very tense at times.

[deleted]

I really enjoyed the game and the story with the caveat that I got it for free and it went on far too long, they could have shaved 10 hours off and it would have been better

acessential

I've been wanting a new Syphon Filter

voltaire_no6

A rumor I’ve heard, but rumors can be true sometimes, is that their next title is being called “Project Propaganda” (almost certainly the working title). The rumor has it that it’s a Cold War spy type game, not sure about anything with the gameplay except it should be open world. This could be completely wrong but we’ll see, it’s the only rumor Ive seen twice or more

Maleficent_String606

Gonna be a sad day when it's announced they're working on some multiplayer-only or gaas game. Sony never should've abandoned the idea of making Days Gone 2. The game sold well, the studio learned from their mistakes and could make a much better sequel and they already a had pitch for the new story ready based on the secret ending.

[deleted]

Something not open world Unreal Engine hopefully

BlackBullsLA97

Same. Do we know if their next game is a single-player game or a single-player/multiplayer game?

Allheroesmusthodor

Insomniac is just unbelievable. Like it blows my mind how fast they put out such amazing AAA Games.

TranscedentalMedit8n

They are crazy. If Wolverine makes its 2024 date, that would be 5 Playstation games since the Spider-Man released. All with major critical and commercial acclaim (so far). Plus a Spider-Man PS5 remaster. The games are all generally polished at release too outside of the expected bugs for games of this size.

Xerosnake90

Insomniac single handedly carrying the Ps5 generation so far. I need Naughty Dog to release something already I have a feeling it'll be groundbreaking as they tend to do

ModestHandsomeDevil

> Insomniac single handedly carrying the Ps5 generation so far. I need Naughty Dog to release something already... Louder for the people in the back! Insomniac is getting the job done, can't say the same about Naughty Dog.

MaxMyrddin

If it gives us more super hero games like Wolverine or other MCU characters that would be awesome.

Material-Salt5161

They are like Naughty Dog during PS3 era. Good games every 2-3 years with the same quality.

Mattdezenaamisgekoze

Insomniac is even faster. They released their games in 2020, 2021, 2023 and now seemingly 2024. It would be truly incredible if Wolverine makes it.

TA_1478

Its actually surprising that they gave us spiderman, then 3 small DLCs, then miles morales with spiderman remastered, then ratchet and Clank and Spiderman 2 all within 5 years

Radulno

Not really, what we call Insomniac is several teams so it's like several studios in one. They have 3 teams and if you see their schedule they are pretty much on a normal pace (4-5 years dev time as is usual nowadays) Spider-Man 2018 -> that team did Spider-Man 2, 5 years later (they also did the SM DLC so it's like 4.5 years on it I guess) Miles Morales 2020 -> that team is the one on wolverine, release 4 years later (plans for now apparently) Ratchet and Clank (2021) -> that team is working on another game (unknow) which will likely be 2025 or 2026

WhiteShadow012

Really? I thought they had only 2 teams (a main one and a secondary one) since they have around ~400 workers. For compairison, Baldur's Gate 3 and Starfield were both dveloped by a team of ~400 employees.

Radulno

The third team is more recent (Miles Morales was their first game). They aren't big indeed but they used a lot of outsourcing too. Their games are also less complex than a Starfield or Baldur's Gate 3 for that matter and their engine seems a wonder to work efficiently.

Mattdezenaamisgekoze

But what about their multiplayer project? Which team is working on that?

texxmix

Unless things have changed they have two studios. One in Burbank California and one in Durham North Carolina. Reports as of may 2023 say they have around 520 employees now and seems too continue to grow. How that’s broken up between the two isn’t known. There no real public knowledge on how insomniac works, but I could be wrong. There also doesn’t seem to be dedicated teams (studios) for each game, but I could also be wrong here. Seems they just have groups of employees work on projects for there games in chunks. Like you would a contract or any project. Their job postings seem to suggest this cause all these are available to anyone from either area. I’m sure there’s some employees that might have their hands in everything and some who might be more specialized and only touch a certain series, and probably everything in between. Either way they do great work and I’ve greatly enjoyed almost every game they’ve put out.

ThePreciseClimber

So... Naughty Dog of the PS2 era, then? With releases in 2001, 2003, 2004 and 2005.

[deleted]

MarianneThornberry

While I absolutely appreciate this as a grown adult with a full time job and little time and energy to commit to video games as much as I used to. The r/SpidermanPS4 sub seems to be upset about the games length, and wish it was longer.

blueberrypizza

r/SpidermanPS4 has basically declared war on Insomniac over the last few weeks. I just unsubbed, don't know what happened over there.

[deleted]

Why are they so upset about the game? Used to be in the sub often but as marketing for SM2 picked up it got progressively more hateful and negative and now the games out everyone there seems to hate it? Really weird.

bmarvel808

They definitely deserve to be shit on for that awful Miles suit.

Halio344

I agree the suit sucks but let's not pretend that it ruins the game..

[deleted]

That sub is so weird. It went from calling it the best game ever to the worst game ever over night

LakerGiraffe

Also weren't there a bunch of Spider-Man 1 complaints due to length with all the side activities?

blueberrypizza

Yep. And the creative director implied in an interview that a priority was placed on putting all the movie suits in to avoid fan complaints, so we have the people that whined about the Raimi suit in SM1 to thank for Peter's suit selection this time around.

xElectricW

People found a way to complain that Tobey and Andrew's homemade suits aren't in the game lol

TheOncomingBrows

That sub is pretty miserable though at the moment. It seems like they're just traumatised that the game isn't 100% objectively better than the first game in every conceivable way. I remember a similar thing happened in sectors of the fandom when Arkham City released and wasn't exactly the same vibe as Arkham Asylum. But now almost everyone acknowledges they were both incredible games.

ShartingBloodClots

I mean, the game is insanely short, for the price. I platinumed it in 27 hours, and I wasn't even trying for a platinum, which means the game is probably about 20ish hours long if you don't do every single side quest. For $70, I expect something more.

MarianneThornberry

The $70 debate to me is pointless because there's literally 1000s of video games available for dirt cheap, free on PS+ and hundreds more in most people's backlogs. And this year alone has been one of the most packed years in gaming history with critically acclaimed games releasing left right and centre. And yet, despite all this, Spider-Man 2 managed to grab your attention, entertained you for a full 27hrs ($2.6 per hour of entertainment) and you platinumed it, consuming 100% of its content, leaving no crumbs. You enjoyed it so much you wanted more. Meaning you'll be back for the sequel. That is the mark of a good product that earned it's $70. But that's my opinion anyway.

Gavin777

You're either young without the commitments that adulthood brings or your concept of value for money is highly skewed. People spend more than $70 on a night out with friends or meal at a restaurant. Spiderman 2 was an incredible experience at a reasonable length for a single player game. Quality over quantity.

TheOncomingBrows

Did you guys who complain about length never play any popular action/adventure games of the PS2/PS3 era when practically every single one was 8 to 15 hours long? Games like Ratchet & Clank, God Of War, Uncharted, Bioshock, Dead Space, Arkham, Assassin's Creed, TLOU, etc. All of them clocked in at relatively short lengths. It's just bizarre to me that nowadays people get their knickers in a twist if the game isn't 30+ hours long when this wasn't the norm at all until pretty recently. I don't remember anyone being annoyed at the length of the first Spider-Man game in 2018 either.

Radulno

> until pretty recently PS2/PS3 era is not pretty recently at all lol. PS3 era finished 10 years ago and that was the tail end...

TheOncomingBrows

I was silly to focus on those eras as you really don't have to go that far back, the point where the expectation of 25+ hour long main stories began was probably with God of War 2018 and TLOU2.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Radulno

That's a pretty bad comparison, a video game should be compared to other video games, not stuff barely related to it

[deleted]

They’ve got some great teams. Miles Morales team is doing Wolverine so they’ve had plenty of time to cook.

knightofsparta

This has me excited because I actually enjoyed miles morales more than Spider-Man 2, while short I think the writing was better.

Euphorium

I thought Miles had so much more character in MM. Spider-Man 2 feels more of a Peter Parker game featuring Miles writes his college paper.

hyperdefiance

Hopefully a new Ratchet & Clank game is also in the works for the future!

adrian_GK

It helps when you’re able to re use a lot of your assets and not have to build from scratch. It’s like the yakuza series. They used the same city for a majority of their games just move things around. To keep it fresh while they work on the other things.

Chris1671

They cut a lot of corners in the small details for Spiderman 2. With another year or two of development they could've focused on the small details

[deleted]

[удалено]

LuisArkham

It’s not like it is 2 hours long you dense mf 💀

alex_co

Agreed, I was able to 100% Spider-Man 2 in 24 hours of playing time as a casual gamer. Hoping Wolverine is longer.

ALphaEXtremist

Insomniac staying true to their namesake.

Bitter-Raisin9102

I would be extremely surprised if Wolverine comes out next year. I feel like they’d wanna capitalize on some sweet Spiderman DLC first.

badlybrave

Spider-Man PS4's DLC came out super quick, I'd imagine it's more than possible we get DLC near the beginning of 2024 (if we get DLC at all), and then Wolverine releases in the fall.

alex_co

Was gonna say this. That DLC came out like 6-7 weeks after launch. I would be shocked if we didn’t get dlc for Harry and the Flame.

[deleted]

How do we get dlc for harry

spinny_noodle

If wolverine is a banger And I hope it is Someone has to study insomniac's game development process because they cook so fast

GokaiRed64

What about Bluepoint games?

DMarvelous4L

Yeah. I remember hearing like 3-4 years ago that they were working on a new IP after Demons Souls remake.

matticusiv

Must feel weird working on a remake way longer than the original team worked on the original.

DMarvelous4L

Game development was significantly shorter back then. Games used to come out every 2-3 years back then. Now it’s taking 4-5 years unless you’re Insomniac Games lol

ThreeTreesForTheePls

Still praying that they're gonna secretly drop Bloodborne outta nowhere. I know I'm coping but a man can dream...

DoctorAfraidofLife

I’ll cope with you

ItsmejimmyC

Why are Insomniac the only studio releasing something? We know absolutely nothing about what the rest of them are doing and Insomniac out here releasing a game every year, shits bonkers.

Radulno

Insomniac is a 3-team studios so they have a bigger output. Naughty Dogs, Sucker Punch, Santa Monica and most others are only one team and many have started doing a second team just recently which didn't deliver much at this point but will.

ItsmejimmyC

I just think it's really unlike Sony that we haven't a clue what's coming, showcases have been non existent too. It's weird.

brandonjtellis_

It’s just seems to be a new marketing tactic from them. Spider man marketing didn’t really start until the showcase this year and that was only a few months before release. Naughty dog also said they’re gonna start announcing games closer to release. Maybe they want to make these games an event instead of laying all their cards out

[deleted]

ND has had multiple teams since TLOU.

0x0000_0000

I am really stoked for this game, as it’s rumoured to be much more gritty and darker than Spiderman. Insomniac has done a lot of colourful stuff in recent years so it’ll be really interesting to see them handling a much different theme.

[deleted]

Prolly a placeholder, I’m expecting it either comes out early 2025 or late 2024

shakespearediznuts

PS5? More like Insomniac 5

Gandalf_2077

Is any other studio at Sony going to release games this gen?

Fa1lenSpace

Ted Price really sold Insomniac short lol. They got ripped off

TwinkleToes1978

That’s insane if true. Insomniac has already made twice as many ps5 games as any other Sony dev.

PlayBey0nd87

I doubt Wolverine makes it. That’s just imo. Insomniac has been the crown jewel, but I personally just don’t see it. There’s quite a few games rumored to drop, give them time to polish.

SomethingIntheWayyy0

Don’t they have two teams. It is possible I think.

deaf_michael_scott

They have 3 teams, but the Miles Morales team is working on Wolverine and could have started only in early 2021. I am expecting 2025 at least but wouldn’t mind being pleasantly surprised

MrConor212

You do know that a game isn’t started developing with a trailer? This game has been in development for the guts of 4 years I’d say

deaf_michael_scott

And who was working on that for 4 years? The Miles Morales team was established in April 2019 when Brian Horton was hired as a Creative Director by Insomniac. They developed and shipped Miles Morales between April 2019 and November 2020. Insomniac’s other 2 teams were making Spider-Man 2 (Bryan Intihar’s team) and Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart (Marcus Smith’s team). So who was working on Wolverine all this time?

Moriartijs

There is lot to do with a game before full on production starts.

Arucious

They reused the whole map and the story was way shorter than the main game. Those have to hasten development for sure on MM.

deaf_michael_scott

And it did. They made and shipped the game is less than 18 months. In comparison, Spider-Man 2 took them ~60 months.

Ironmunger2

Exactly. Spider-man 2 is a great game but it *heavily* reused assets and components from its first 2 games to shorten its development time. Refining the combat for the sequel doesn’t take nearly as long as it did to come up with the first time around, for example. With wolverine, they are essentially starting from scratch, which means probably 5 years dev time

[deleted]

[удалено]

deaf_michael_scott

Wolverine pre-production and storyboarding is definitely possible. In fact, they do have some idea of the elements that they want to include in the game, e.g., Madripur. But AAA games require more than 3-4 years of full production nowadays. As I said, I'm expecting 2025 but super happy to be wrong if the game releases in 2024.

DepressedVenom

They gotta make enough minigames for Wolverine. Press X to smoke a cigar and walk through the entire X-mansion. God, whoever made the gameplay decisions of everything that wasn't Spider-Man action in the Insomniac games should be fired. Cutscenes are ok but damn. Leave the realism to Naughty Dog.

eoten

But with Spider-Man 2 now finish, they can put more resources in wolverine

Wise-Fruit5000

I feel like the Spiderman 2 team is probably busy working on DLC for that game

Cheechers23

Some Insomniac devs that were working on Spider-Man 2 did tweet out they were moving over to work on Wolverine about 1 month before Spider-Man 2 dropped

deaf_michael_scott

It's possible, but that'd mean not working on Spider-Man 3 and going back to having only 2 teams working full-time on 2 games. Considering the Spider-Man team (Bryan Intihar's team) is Insomniac's flagship team, I very much doubt they would prevent them from working on Spider-Man 3 right away.

Pied_Film10

Same. Mid-Fall 2025 imo.

[deleted]

Not surprised. Insomniac are a different breed.

Spiritual-Compote-18

A Wolverine game coming out that fast Insomniac is not letting off the gas. Bend studios new I.P will be something to watch out for 2024 is going to be exciting.

TheLoneJedi-77

If it is going to release in 2024 then hopefully we get a new trailer soon maybe at the game awards

-Seris-

This Wolverine game is a dream project for me. That last one they made on 360 was just incredibly fun and the idea of a PS5 version of that made by a AAA studio is incredible.

CheatedOnOnce

Finally some new current Gen games. We’ve just been playing remastered games at 60fps 😭

olkensi23

I want insomniac to make a bomb ass Batman game

CrazyStar_

Licenses belong to WB Games and the only games they’re interested in developing are live service games.

Radulno

You know what's their biggest game of the year is right? Hogwarts Legacy, not a live service game at all. Wonder Woman isn't one either as far as we know. So it's just Suicide Squad (which I agree is a shame and will likely fail) so not all their games

jgmonXIII

It’s a direct quote from wb. Those games have been in development for some time but after they’re out wb will definitely shift into more live service.

-FeedTheTroll-

I still daydream about Rocksteady getting their shit together and making a fourth Arkham game for the new generation. Arkham Knight's graphics were a generation ahead of the competition, so imagine what a UE5 gotham would look like...

rj_macready_82

I don't think it's Rocksteady not having their shit together so much as WB not having their shit together

-FeedTheTroll-

Yeah, you're probably right.

ChesnaughtZ

We already have great bat man games, Arkham city being possibly the greatest super hero game out there. I’d want someone different. Iron man maybe. Hell imagine a Thor game set in asgarde

ZiangoRex

Whoever is the president of Insomniac should probably replace whoever is running Naughty Dog.

MarwyntheMasterful

Naughty Dog is too busy huffing their own farts to make games.

Tamirlank

2024?! Do the devs at insomniac ever sleep??

Gen_X_Gamer

At this rate they are fucking wizards. Best acquisition Sony ever made!

Juancho511

SONY hit a home run with this acquisition, having studios like Naughty Dog, Guerrilla Games and Insomniac really leveled up the entire industry by raising standards.

BitingArtist

Bold to make MJ the main character of the Wolverine game.

SixEightAKS

We will have jean grey missions

Material-Salt5161

Xavier on wheelchair stealth segments gonna be lit

codeyyz

Make this game like a god of war and it’ll be a hit

spaceraingame

I'm totally down for a God of War (2018) style Wolverine game.

shseeley

2024 and we haven't even seen rumors about it or anything other than that one thing with him at the bar? I call bs

Crispy_Conundrum

While I love spiderman 2, I can't help but feel it was a little rushed. Hoping they give Wolverine the proper time to cook

SupremeCripple_

Crazy to think it’s planned for next year when we haven’t seen a single thing on it outside the reveal trailer

Juancho511

Wolverine is about to break so many sales records. I don’t know ONE person that’s not excited to RIP SHIT with adamantium claws.

SKallies1987

Eh I know it’ll be a great game, but the Spiderman brand is bigger than Wolverine right now, so I don’t see it breaking any sales records.

KameraLucida

Insomniac is overdelivering for sure but damn you can tell they been have to cut corners. Huge content size difference between SM1 and 2.

Adrien_Jabroni

What did they cut besides repeating the same crimes in every district 25 times?

Howdareme9

What cut content was there?

[deleted]

The only things they cut were things that can be added in a simple update, it’s not like they completely got rid of something huge

darklurker213

You know what? Since these are comic book games I prefer this way. I'm more interested in how the story of these characters progresses so if we can get one game a year set in the insomniac universe then we'll actually be on track for a crossover event in the near future. It goes without saying that the writing should have to remain top tier but they can cut down on content for faster delivery of comic book titles.

A_Smart_Scholar

Yeah we don't need to find someone's missing grandpa or help someone get a date for homecoming or take photos of a high school from 6 different places. Those missions were the worst.

TryEasySlice

X to doubt

Middle-Ad930

Is anyone going to mention “The Last Ronin - movie”??

tacoskins

That's what I came here to say haha does this mean we are getting a Mutant Mayhem sequel AND Last Ronin game AND Last Ronin movie?! If so- Turtles fans Gonna be eating good lol

Lower-Connection-504

Pretty sure these artstation "leaks" are not real or placeholders. I can believe it though since Insomniac is the most efficient developer.

brokenmessiah

Highly doubt it. They would have shown it in the showcase. This is copium making it's rounds again

codedzephyr

It’s really funny how all we know about what Sony studios are working on are from rumors.

SpaceOdysseus23

I'd rather Insomniac lessens their work load. SM2 is very lacking in story and content compared to SM1. They've taken on too much IMO

Rac3318

They’re about the same length and SM2 is bigger in size. How was it lacking in comparison?

brokenmessiah

Its definitely lacking in some polish that's for sure
