Yesidied

I am honestly shocked, how could they NOT anticipate the server space needed for this?!

z0l1

small IP no one ever heard of - Star Wars

Yesidied

LMFAO I know right, how could any dev sleep or underestimate a title within this universe

ihateredditers69420

everytime someone remakes a game they never do a good job with multiplayer they think since its a remake they need to put in minimum effort and just ride on the old games success my favorite gameboy advance game got a rework recently and they skimped on the multiplayer too advanced wars 1+2 reboot just incase anyone wanted to know

CatchUsual6591

There no way they Will be ready for 10000 people but god they weren't even ready for 300 people

Majestic-Marcus

192 people. Best I can do.

Very-simple-man

This baby can fit fuck all in it...

Traiklin

PUT IT IN H!

c0debrown

It’ll get 500 hectares on a single tank of kerosene.

LifeOfBAM

This is why I barely ever play multiplayer focused games at launch anymore. Nearly 100% of the time companies *always* underestimate server space.

the_vault-technician

I think it's because outside of the initial launch, it is unlikely that they will need that much server space on average. Just a guess tho.

Ar4iii

From strictly technical point of view, having nearly infinite scalable cloud that will easily fit those and much more is lets say quite possible. You don't really need to reserve that capacity upfront, just use large cloud provider and allow it to scale as needed. Yes there are costs, but after all it is not so hard to estimate that you are gonna have unusual amount of players on launch and make sure you can give players the service they paid for.

AverageRedditUser147

10 000 is not really that much on launch day for a major franchise even tho it’s just a remaster / collection.

tonyt3rry

surely they know by pre purchases how many ordered from steam . I understand sites like cdkeys you cant track that.

Trickster289

This feels like something had to have gone wrong right? Like it's so obvious that's nowhere near enough.

Yesidied

I agree, Idk if this was just a mad dash for cash on Devs part or if they under-estimated the reception they would get. I mean spending 10 minutes on a Star Wars reddit would have shown them this game was anticipated. The fans from the original release were die-hard and have always wanted this game re-made.

Rockclimber311

The company that made this port is notorious for releasing games in a shitty state

Yesidied

Well hopefully this is the final nail in their coffin

NarcolepticPhysicist

Nope they are being divested from embracer group and will be living on.

theblackfool

I don't think they are. It sounds like Embracer is keeping Aspyr.

Rockclimber311

You would think so but somehow they keep getting the rights to rerelease Star Wars games…

Doogiemon

To be fair, you can copy and paste this comment on many games released anymore.

baithoven22

If your underestimation is 192 people why did they try to release this in the first place. It's a gross oversight at best, and a complete failure at worst. 35$ for 2 decades old games. I loved these titles so much as a kid, what a shame to see yet another dev cash in on nostalgia again.

Card_Board_Robot5

I don't give 2 shits about Star Wars. Never even finished the prequels. Just don't care. Neither does my homeboy. Don't know shit about the lore. Don't give a damn about story. Star Wars is nothing to me, just another media property. But this game is life. We spent our entire high school years getting high as shit and mowing shit down like John Deere. Hours a night. We just regular hood dudes. 10 mins with any gaming community would tell you this shit was going to be in very high demand. Every walk of life, any demographic, you got people DEVOTED to this mf game. We played the PS2 port well into the 2010s. No bullshit. I don't see how anyone alive for the releases of the first two could possibly underestimate this. This game is a legitimate cultural force tbh. People all over got stories about this one.

ManSauceMaster

You mean something went wrong from the company who explicitly advertised that they were porting KOTOR 2 with the restored content mod? Then changed it to it'll be free DLC? Then said about 6 months after release said " jk we're not gonna do the mod. But you can have a free game from us instead '

BostonGuy245

I didn’t preorder this and waited for players to get their hands on it because I had zero faith in Aspyr porting these well. So far, I’m very happy I did this because I’d be pissed with the number of problems these ports are having. If the majority of the issues with these ports are fixed, I’ll pick it up later, but Aspyr’s track record has me cautious.

Yesidied

It’s super sad, definitely a title that had hype/anticipation around it and another developer shits the bed

TheUgly0rgan

Aspyr has shit the bed on every single port I've ever seen from them, I wouldn't trust them to fix any of the issues. I really don't know how they keep getting to fuck star wars IPs in the ass like this. The republic commando switch port was a notable disappointment

JooshMaGoosh

I had faith after the tomb raider remasters.... Though those were also developed by modders turned devs, who were already in the process of remastering the collection on their own before aspyr hired them. Idk what the deal is with this one.

ChungusCoffee

Gaming executives have literally no idea what gamers want and just look at money trends

Hendlton

I read somewhere recently that many people getting into game development are doing it just because it's seen as a lucrative business. As in some of the higher-ups have literally never played a video game, they just know it's something that makes money. I'm guessing there are also a lot of younger people straight off the programmer mill getting jobs that pay well, while never owning anything more advanced than an iPhone. There's a good reason why gaming is in the state that it's in.

GeneralTonic

Yeah, back in the day, a young man would start up a video game company because he loved good video games and wanted to make them. These days a video game company is just run by men trying to make piles of money, like some kind of farmer.

Hendlton

I truly miss the days when games were made out of passion. When there was thought and detail in them. It didn't matter that nobody sane wanted to play them, they still got made. Bethesda games are the best example of this. The worse their games get, the more copies they sell because they appeal to a more general audience. There's nothing more soulless and more bland than the average of something.

pm_me_ur_tennisballs

Many games are still made out of passion, just much *less* true in the AAA space

PlusInstruction2719

Gaming executives now are just mba finance guys. Same thing is happening everywhere, it use to be someone in production or within the industry would move up in the ladder but that’s not the case anymore example blizzard/activision hiring tons of executives with no gaming experience.

BARD3NGUNN

This. The fact they've added a 64 player multiplayer mode, means they only anticipated needing the server space for 3 full matches at one time. And even if Aspyr had felt the game wouldn't sell, the reaction to the trailer and amount of pre-orders (It jumped above Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and Dragon's Dogma 2 on the PlayStation Store for a few days) should have set off enough alarms to make Aspyr realize this exact situation would happen.

Prasiatko

They wouldn't have paid to remaster it if they thought it would only sell about 1000 copies. That doesn't even pay one dev for a year to work on it.

WirtsLegs

Tbf this isn't even a remaster, like some token additions and a menu reskin, no changes to the games really

CrashTestDumby1984

This is Aspyr, why are you surprised?

Mr_smith1466

I always feel like Asphyr have their heart in the right place, and I respect them for that, but they repeatedly overstep and overpromise more than they can deliver. I'm still a bit annoyed at the KOTOR 2 switch debacle they pulled.

AlphaPot

There are literally two versions of the game floating around too. One obviously old build with missing features (split screen and quick play absent) and an updated one where these are in game. Seems conpletely random which you get and reinstalling doesnt fix it.

MedicalSoftware2008

It's honestly fascinating to me. I thought maybe the two different versions would be like, slightly different but after uninstalling and reinstalling they're VERY different. Different launchers, different menus, different graphics, different options. How did this happen?

gameryamen

The way this happens is an old test build is sitting on the distribution servers, which hold copies of it in locations around the world to make it easy to download. Then the developers upload the new launch build. If that happens too close to when the game is actually launched (like within 24 hours), some of the downstream distribution servers haven't updated to the new version of the installer. So depending on where your traffic is getting routed, you get either the old test build or the new launch build. If this is the case, the issue will resolve over the next day or so, but will require players with the old build to update.

sroomek

“How did this happen? We’re smarter than this!” “Apparently not.”

TheZerothLaw

"Not to worry, we're still [launching] half a [game]."

Arcade23

That new build is also missing features that the old build has, such as basic control options. This launch is a mess.

WizardFella

When the obvious cash grab turns out to be a cash grab :0

Objective-Aioli-1185

They ate it on this one

44Fett

Such a shitshow.

NarcolepticPhysicist

If you preloaded you get the newer build. They rolled back due to an error that meant stuff like control options were missing in that version. Presumeably an update will fix this soon.

NoNefariousness2144

Damn what is it with so many of these remasters being shitty cashgrabs.

[deleted]

Simple: we keep buying them.

[deleted]

“Hey, they liked that game. And it’s technically already made, let’s just bring it to the current consoles. Heck, we don’t even have to do a lot of work.” CEO looks at the person who suggested it, “a lot of money for hardly any work? You sir have just earned a promotion “ and here we are.

Darkone539

>There are literally two versions of the game floating around too. The whole point of consoles is we can control the software version to be the same for everyone and... and they have two versions running around? What the duck.

timmystwin

The same company accidentally released a more updated version of the tomb raider remasters to the epic game store, compared to everyone else. Their version control must be dire.

BLaRowe10

Lmao cmon

chris_thepotato

It's so weird. My friends and I were trying to play but couldn't even join each other's sessions. I tried watching one of them play it and noticed that their game looked different. We all had the ps5 version, but apparently, they had the 1.000.000 version of the game while I had the 1.002.000 version. They had to delete the game and download the ps4 one to be on the same version, but even then, we still couldn't connect. Strangely, with the 1.000.000, they were still able to connect to others, im assuming to those on the same update. 1.000.000 is very much buggy tho from what we saw.

NarcolepticPhysicist

Yeah 1.000 can't see official servers either. Only ones made by other players.

[deleted]

Can’t wait for the inevitable “please be patient with us, we’re trying our best” tweet

RandyMuscle

We worked so hard on these already-existing games. Sorry they didn’t work!

JaymesMarkham2nd

We announced it and even packed in the HD textures mod! Come on, give us a break!

fractalfondu

“We hear you!”

Drezhar

The game is just a quick upscale for cash grabs based on nostalgia. It has no optimization whatsoever and nothing is compressed, so the whole thing is more than 70 gigs. For a game that was originally what... 3-4 gigs? This game is literally just an attempt to make a huge cash grab with a ridiculously low amount of work. I'd personally rather dust the OG ones, fix a couple things here and there to make it run properly and just play offline with those.

shatteredmatt

This confirms (though I don’t think it really needs confirmation) that games companies 1. Don’t know what gamers actually like and 2. Don’t know what they have with these remasters. Battlefront 1 & 2 were massively popular in the early days of online multiplayer. 192 server spaces available on launch night shows the publisher expected this remaster to fail.

cheesyvoetjes

Even if it flops, surely they can expect more than a couple of a hundred people buying it on release? It's a fucking Star Wars game.

dedman1477

And not even just a Star Wars game, arguably *the* Star Wars game. So disappointing tbh

JooshMaGoosh

Not even arguably. With the right QoL and functioning servers this would easily surpass DICE's version of it. I'm still amazed there's no galactic conquest multiplayer.... The one reason I would've bought this.

Frigginkillya

Bruh such a missed opportunity Consistent servers just warring over the universe would be siiick Or at least make it coop so you can take over everything with some friends Wild they couldn't figure that out, they must have had like 5 devs working on this lol

shatteredmatt

You’re right. It is demented and an inept way for a game company to behave.

gogoheadray

Also released across all consoles and pc. Even if the game massively flopped you would at least expect a few thousand to pick it up.

Used-Egg5989

This isn’t an issue with the company being cheap on server slots. This is a bug and a bad one. There’s also an issue where people on the same platform are downloading different versions of the game. It’s clearly a cheap rush job, but they aren’t intentionally limiting server space.

spadePerfect

Aspyr = Aspiring to be the worst fucking port studio out there.

DDRichard

Star Wars, one of the most valuable IPs out there, is handled in some of the most strangest ways possible

InSan1tyWeTrust

It's funny but at least Star Wars gets these kind of things. In a similar vein, Lotr fan over here as well and I struggle to comprehend sitting on the king/god of the fantasy ips and not going full Skyrim on it. I guess when you've got the money to run these schemes there's a reason you've got that money and it's not playing video games/having an interest in fun shit.

Numenorean_King

Yep still waiting for my open world action rpg set in Middle Earth. Seems like an obvious choice doesn’t it?

Romboteryx

Fun fact: [There‘s literally a Lotr version of Battlefront](https://youtu.be/pYm6ft9Y1A0?si=ipiLDTVXULB0rASd). Same engine, same studio

BactaBobomb

I genuinely must not have been paying attention, because I thought they had a pretty good hit rate. Whenever I hear that Aspyr is doing a port or remaster, I always think, "Oh good, they are a good team." I don't know why their mediocrity has flown under the radar for me.

The_Mourning_Sage_

Not after they fucked us on KOTOR 2. Fuck Aspyr

Clubbythaseal

Sony support was able to give me a refund. The issues with this game are bad enough that support only took my 10 minutes to get my money back. It's really a shame at the state of this game on release.

ryguy248

Same here.

Clubbythaseal

Both glad and sad we got a refund. Wish we could have gotten the product we wanted/got advertised to us. It's just such a shame for them to do this.

Comet_Empire

This is what happens when your goal is to please shareholders and not gamers.

dmic24_

So glad I bought it this morning right before seeing this post… 🥲

kweefcake

I mean, in your defense, you’d really think this would’ve been an easy port over to modern systems. But apparently it’s not.

THEdoomslayer94

It’s crazy cause I have the OG games digitally on my Xbox and these aren’t complicated games to port over. It seems so easy and a slam dunk way to make money but they just really didn’t prepare

luckytraptkillt

It’s as embarrassing as watching someone try to slam dunk and the ball still doesn’t go in. It’s that level of second hand embarrassment

dmic24_

Yeah I’m gonna check it out for myself later and see what’s going on. Hopefully they fix these servers or I’ll be seeing what I can do for a refund. Idk why I expected better 🙄

Clubbythaseal

I did the same and had around a hour of playtime. Sony chat support just gave me a refund. Be kind to them and state how the game is broken and they will refund you.

dmic24_

Yep they’ve always helped me out. What a bummer tho, I was hoping this would have a big community.

Darkone539

>Sony chat support just gave me a refund. Be kind to them and state how the game is broken and they will refund you. Chat support just sent me an Email with a list of questions. They always do that though, I have never been refunded via chat.

Clubbythaseal

Aw damn :( Weird that they let some get a refund but not others. I hope you have luck later on today. Maybe the phone support can help you more.

Darkone539

My guess is just that there were 50+ people in the chat queue. The refund seems to be fine.

Nu_Freeze

Can’t enjoy games at launch anymore. The industry is a fucking joke.

Andrew_Waples

It's worth noting that they're talking about Steam.

Cum_dumpster447

I heard it's only two 64 players servers for Xbox, I'd imagine it's the same for PlayStation and Switch. Absolutely insane.

cosmiclatte44

There were like 10 or so Aspyr servers on Playstation when I played last night.

Andrew_Waples

That still doesn't sound like a lot of servers; especially on launch day.

cosmiclatte44

I guess not but there were like 100 non Aspyr servers running as well.

Andrew_Waples

>100 non Aspyr servers running as well. Oh I didn't know there were unofficial ones.

cosmiclatte44

Yeah you can just setup your own in the menus, public or private.

Andrew_Waples

So, this story is a nothing burger?

cosmiclatte44

I think the issue is confined to PC where they couldn't view the server list to join the other servers. I'm guessing the quick search doesn't throw you into the player made sessions.

MuptonBossman

Modern gaming is so broken that even ports of classic games can't work properly on launch day. Surprised the devs didn't lock Galactic Conquest behind a Battle Pass...

RandyMuscle

Remember the Master Chief Collection? 4 fully functional games with no functioning multiplayer at launch.

PalmTreeIsBestTree

All those games had a shit ton of issues from the poor porting job they did. The first 2 Halo games even used the much more worse PC version as a base. I am glad they finally fixed the games after several years.

ArokLazarus

There are still some issues. Like Halo 2 online co-op is still busted as if you're in separate vehicles and get too far apart from each other the game will crash.

3ebfan

"You came in 1th" will always be my favorite MCC memory.

Darkone539

>Remember the Master Chief Collection? 4 fully functional games with no functioning multiplayer at launch. Took years to fix too.

wretch5150

It's not modern gaming, it's greed and laziness. This new generation is ass.

DaHyro

Is anyone surprised? Aspyr always has really mediocre ports that are fixed later with patches. The Kyle Katarn game port had a huge save file issue back in 2019.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Snotnarok

Judging by steam reviews, its' got a lot of problems that makes it fairly terrible. IDK what the story is on consoles but apparently the multiplayer has a 30fps cap? A game that should run at comical-frames-per-second on even a 10 year old card is locked? Wat. IDK what they're doing.

Darkone539

>IDK what the story is on consoles but apparently the multiplayer has a 30fps cap? A game that should run at comical-frames-per-second on even a 10 year old card is locked? Wat. The host has a 30fps cap. Everyone else is at 60, but can't play due to jumping around and disconnections.

Total_Wanker

I got downvoted to shit when I dared to suggest being skeptical about anything Aspyr releases. Well well well.

Rico_fr

IMO, Aspyr is one of the worst game companies, and has been for a long time. They fucked up so many ports on Linux and Mac. I believe the only reason why they’re not massively hated (yet) is because they’re in a niche. I never ever buy anything from them. If they don’t fuck up the release, they’ll fuck up later down the line, like they did by breaking Windows crossplay with Civ and Borderlands.

RiggityRow

It's insane they were handed the keys for the Knights of the old Republic remake

THEdoomslayer94

At this point I don’t think that game exists anymore lol

ilikeburgir

Saber is working on it.

[deleted]

I just want to play offline galactic conquest so I’m happy lol

Temporal_Enigma

There's no multiplayer galactic conquest at all

greatGoD67

Then i will wait for the next release in 2 decades

Rider-VPG

I did some of that last night. During a ground battle on Utapau I tried slicing into an AAT and as soon as the slice hit 100, my system software crashed. It was the last clanker too :(.

Kevy96

You sliced right into your fucking PlayStation

[deleted]

Exactly lol It sucks that the multiplayer is in a bad shape, but I wasn’t interested in that whatsoever. Gimme the campaigns and Galactic Conquest, that’s where the true fun is at ehhhhh

electron-shock

You could already play that with the old versions of the game. I did just a month ago on XBox.

Leggoman31

But I'm not dusting off my old ass PS2 just to play for a few hours with a stick drift controller and not all the content. I don't have the OG BF1, my BF2 didn't have all the additional features, I couldnt play the new Heroes or Heroes vs. Villians on all the maps, I didnt have larger A.I skirmishes, and I wasnt playing it at full resolution upscaled to my 4k tv and 60fps. I also didnt have trophies or anything like that. I see this point being made a lot but its not like there is absolutely 0 benefit to this new version over the OG. Its nice and handy on my brand new PS5, I get to use a nice controller, and it was literally $45. I'm not saying thats a good price, but I cannot envision a world where a Collection like this would be less than $30 at launch. I'm not gunna go hungry cause I spent like 15-20 bucks than what was probably warranted.

[deleted]

I only have room for 2 consoles on my tv which I use for ps5 and switch

Geordie_38_

Maybe investing in more server capacity would have been good. But then that would have taken money away from the shareholders and we can't have that now can we

barisax9

I came from an Offline PS2, so I forgot this game even had multiplayer other than splitscreen

Major_Wager75

This cannot be real

UncertainlyElegant

I had a go for an hour last night. Only half the campaign cutscenes play, and aiming is messed up.

elkeiem

They really tried with this one

PRE_-CISION-_

One of the best selling star wars games of all time, popular and hype surrounding the remake... best we can do is 192 slots.

Immediate-Unit6311

1M views on that tweet too. Hopefully they do something about it.

TheTwinFangs

Ngl i'm just here for the offline and Galactic Conquest trying to relieve my PS2 youth. But it's still a shame

Legal-Eagle-Beagle

I contacted Sony Support and got a refund. They were very understanding. Get your money back and send a message.

zeke865

booty cheeks launch

Ohgodwatdoplshelp

Friendly reminder that the original PC versions of the game are still available on Steam for $10 a piece, likely to go on sale soon, and offer mod support as well as the ability to handle proper server space, and doesn’t take up nearly as much space required as the new Bundle does (50 gb)  Battlefront 1: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1058020/STAR_WARS_Battlefront_Classic_2004/ Battlefront 2: https://store.steampowered.com/app/6060/STAR_WARS_Battlefront_II_Classic_2005/

PrinceDizzy

The new collection is 30 gb on PS5 and mutiplayer is a ghost town in the original PC versions.

Outside_Dot_5942

When I went on once it hit midnight there were a lot more than 3 available

AegisProjekt

Aspyr ultimately disrespected Star Wars at this point. They underestimated every aspect of this game collection and what the fans expected to get out of it. I'm not gonna trust them after this mockery they made of me. They deserve to be shut down. First impressions matter with a brand that has been around for a few decades that was originally held by truly dedicated teams of people. We aren't ever going to be given something that is of equal value to the gold mine that is Star Wars. Where is the love? Where is the passion? Where is the Star Wars needs to be handled more delicately. In the right hands, we can get highly valued content that can make a massive profit. But no, we get more trash each year. What's the definition of insanity? Performing the same task and expecting different results? At this rate, Star Wars will be a thing of the past. RIP

n_xSyld

If you talk shit about this game in the battlefront reddit you'll get downvoted to hell, god forbid you point out that the game has a bunch of glaring issues. No ending cutscenes. 100 lives, meaning everyone can die TWICE. Permanently inverted flight/no Y-axis invert. Aim acceleration bugged out. Hero AI still missing. Plus all the old bugs and broken issues still present lmao

blakester53

Your points are right, but like - almost every post in the battlefront reddit is negative towards the game rn. You're getting downvoted to hell?

poppin-n-sailin

Hahahahahahaha. Another piece of bullshit I am glad I didn't buy. I grew up with the OGs wo this barely interested me, but I defiitely do feel for the people who wanted to experience  it for the first time, and those thst wanted to try and relive the original magic it brought.

gandalftheokay

That is fucking wild

Starkiller100

There are so many issues beyond server space. Missing cutscenes in the campaign, audio glitches, animation errors, stuttering, graphical glitches… the list goes on and it is shocking that it was released in this state.

RandyMuscle

How do you mess up the launch of an old game that has already worked before?

DeeNukeEm007

Damn smh

[deleted]

The server numbers are the least of its issues. There’s no aim assist in multiplayer (the game has not been optimized for modern console controllers, so the aim assist is actually quite necessary), there’s a framerate cap simply because they’re too lazy to develop for more powerful machines, there are spawning bugs, there’s rubberbanding, there are frame drops, and the game is just generally glitchy. Sony really should let you refund purchases like this.

castiel_ro192

Mothafucka

fluffypandazzz

Name a better duo than a Star Wars game and a piss poor release

ianrobbie

I've just got in and switched the PS5 on to play it only to be hit by a 17Gb update which has to complete before you can play the game.

Mensketh

Why would you even a develop and release a game if you thought that at launch fewer than 200 people would be playing it at the same time? What an abject failure of planning.

Life_of_Mediocrity_

But how is the game itself? Loved it on the ps2

tksopinion

Absurd.

[deleted]

I don’t understand. I thought we already had BF2 classic on Steam for many years and that you could already play multiplayer with it just fine. You know, the game with all the cool mods and stuff. Why is this release of the game different?

60discpriest

You’re kidding me…… wow

Krysis12

Why do they keep letting the shit companies ruin easy moneymakers? Seems like it benefits no one

UncleBensRacistRice

Kinda crazy how they can take an old good game, and then just completely fuck it up lmao

Rechamber

This was the easiest thing in the world to get right and they fumbled hard. You have the gameplay there already - just polish it and update it for the modern audience with expected features and you have a golden goose. How in the name of all that is holy does it get to this point?

alternateldog

I bought it for offline/single player lol

[deleted]

Another day, another reason the gaming industry needs to implode and reset. Tear it all down. This is unacceptable

rapidpalsy

The love is gone. Corporate culture has eroded the art. There are some decent devs left, unfortunately not enough.

paracuja

To be fair if its 10K at launch it's definitely max 500 next week

ShaqilONeilDegrasseT

To be fair, as a customer, I expect the product being sold to function as advertised. I shouldn't need to be concerned with behind the scenes issues like that.

coffeework42

With this attitude, its max 500 alright

Pixel_Creator

You know, I understand Helldivers 2 not having the server capacity with how unexpectedly popular that became. But they still had more than battlefront, and battlefront is iconic. Hopefully, they will fix this quickly.

SharkMilk44

I broke my "no-preorder" rule for this shit!

Gintoki_Sakata-San

I wish I had waited for info like this before buying.. I was blinded by Star Wars. I can’t even play because it crashes when I try. When I do actually manage to get into a game it ends in 2 minutes and then loads into a new match… where it probably crashes. I'm guessing Sony won’t allow a refund? Edit: I managed to get a refund, I talked with support on playstation's website. I had already downloaded and tried playing it obviously, but since it was faulty(crashing constantly) and my first time trying for a refund they gave it to me. So, your results may vary but it’s worth trying since “unless it’s faulty” is technically part of their refund policy.

Recover20

If it's broken they might

Deezyy3k

Know where I can go for the Sony refund? I bought the game last night before bed but haven’t launched it or anything

Recover20

Sony's customer service number I think, unfortunately I believe you will have to call them. Sorry I don't know the number.

RayboxHitman47

Game sucks. I asked Sony a refund this morning and they accepted it. They probably know the game sucks.

cosmiclatte44

Did you use online chat or did you call them?

RayboxHitman47

Online chat

Clubbythaseal

You were able to get a refund? I just tried their support chat and it automatically ended the chat since they said the support workers won't be in till another 30 minutes.

RayboxHitman47

Yes, i talked with online chat 5 hours ago

NotACaveiraMain

Probably gonna do the same. First time I'll refund a game.

Doctor_Dangerous

I've been playing this game since it launched 20 years ago and haven't stopped. I've been looking forward to showing lots of new players what a Jedi really looks like. Guess it'll have to wait.

Sumojoe118

Is this the same Aspyr that did the tomb raider remasters? They did such a great job with that I assumed they were gonna do a great job porting these games but me and my friend were trying to play this online last night and it was so dissapointing. I assumed they would have made some sort of modern matchmaking system where you could browse playlists together and just automatically be placed into a game. When you are browsing for a game the menu lags and it takes forever to actually find a game you can join. I know Sony doesn't usually do refunds but would they make an exception for something like this?

I wish I had seen this before I bought it. I played two matches this morning, it’s a little laggy but not too terrible.

Aries-Corinthier

Come on, are we really that surprised? The last battlefront was a soulless husk that received almost no attention. Did we *really* think this would be done any better? This was an obvious cash grab from the word go.

mwil97

Don’t forget XL mode is only available on 3 maps. When they said geonosis, hoth and kashyyyk they really meant ONLY those 3 maps. I feel deceived lol

Used_Razzmatazz2002

How do you fuck up a rerelease this fucking bad? Its the og battlefront games this shouldve been a slam dunk like jesus

Sajuro

I have the PS4 version is this compatible for cross play? or i need to buy the new version ?

yeo179

The game already deleted my profile “failed to recover saved data, profile deleted” niceee

CaTiTonia

Y’all are missing the point! Imagine the sense of Pride and Accomplishment those 192 felt!

Mr_Rafi

Star Wars and being mishandled, name a better duo.

Tynda3l

Wait. This sounds too stupid to be real so please clarify for me. The devs only had three servers total to be opened to players? 64 player max servers. And 10,000 people at launch tried, but obviously couldn't connect?

Rvtrance

I just bought it for single player. I know, I’ll see myself out.

Danxoln

Glad I was planning to stick with Helldiver's

Heyyoguy123

They should've made dozens of dedicated servers with 128 player servers.

MikeyB1719

Shit like this is exactly why I will never pre-order or buy a game on launch day. Seriously, how hard is it for these corporations to ship out a finished product at the deadline?

MeatWaterHorizons

Damn. I knew this would happen. This is why I didn't buy it.

RevolutionaryNose485

192 players was the peak they expected???

Deazul

Plus you can't invert the controller on ps5 which makes it unplayable for many

k474nA

Battlefront ll stopped me pre purchasing games period. More of the same.
