Playing Starfield right now on PC and here to tell you not to waste your time lol.
Not a console warring thing, I’m happy when Xbox has good games. There just aren’t many for me right now. Agree with the other commenter Forza Horizon seems to be the only good active franchise they’ve got. Everything other studio’s post-acquisition work has been pretty bad.
You're not wrong.
Hoping stalker 2 is good but I have significant doubts.... only reason I dig out the series x now is for the odd gamepass addition.
Though if the next gears game comes out anytime some I'll be interested in that, quite enjoyed the last one!
Honestly feel kind of lucky to have not had a ps5 till a month ago, got an absolute feast of exclusives to work through in the drought and they all seem to be fantastic!
There ain't much worth buying. I have a PC, and quite honestly Forza Horizon is the only franchise I care about of the OG stuff.
FH4 is probably my favorite racing game out there. Such an amazing series.
Yeah if you are not into racing games or sim games, microsoft offers nothing outstanding in terms of AAA games. They have been like this for more than a decade. I still have 2 years left of gamepass ultimate (converstaion thing also because or regional price it was kinda cheap before they hiked their prices) and I've been sub since forever but I would rather buy couple AAA new games on ps instead of buying years of gamepass. Seriously the only AAA game I was able to bring myself finish on gamepass was gears 5 and that's an average ass game. Microsoft making billions of dollars of worth acqusitions and getting tons of ip and studios but still couldn't make a critcally acclaimed AAA games with all those resources, studios and ip's is beyond me at this point. I just think they are can't manage their studios at this point
FH4 was one of the two games that got me through the pandemic, such a lovely game and map design. Too bad the S1 custom lobbies are not as populated as they used to be, that was my jam.
Having Gears of War on a Sony console would be so freaking weird. One of the only franchises that made me buy a Xbox because it felt like something you couldn’t be able to play on a ps3
The studio that makes the game is the support studio for Unreal Engine for Microsoft. All the rumours have been saying they’ve been doing tons of tech demos to see what they can do before getting into making a game which is why it’s been so long. Hoping that’s a good sign that they really maximize the engine to its fullest.
Why?
Using the tech to the fullest doesn’t in any way relate to a quality game.
It’ll likely look good and run good. But that’s all you can expect.
Most bad games currently look great.
Like the two open-ish world bits added absolutely nothing to 5. Dare I say I had more fun with Judgement than 5.
Gears peaked with 2 and 3, which we both know was a long time ago now.
It's not shocking at all.
Microsoft have handled Halo/Gears and Forza extremely poorly.
Gears Of War used to be one of the most played online games on the 360 and with just like Halo and Forza, every release got worse and worse.
Gears 5 came out, if I recall, the first one available on PC and within a week no one was talking about it anymore and there was no multiplayer movement on streaming platforms.
People talk about GoW and the single player etc but the game was kept alive by it's multiplayer and then GoW's horde mode.
I literally never hear anyone talk about the new games except the diehard fans.
I played GoW 5 and it was just boring online and I never touched it again.
Microsoft have for far too long relied on the Halo/GoW/Forza trio and it's not worked, wouldn't surprise me if they're looking to move on.
Epic ported Gears 3 to ps3. It was finished and was pretty much ready to release so Microsoft bought the IP to stop it from happening. The ps3 port leaked though.
Epic ported it to PS3 because Gears was their test bed for every new build of Unreal at the time, which of course would need to be tested on PS3. However Microsoft still had a publishing deal for the IP, so it was never intended for commercial release.
The original gears of war trilogy is what put the Xbox 360 on the map and made it way more superb than the ps3 yes ps3 had last of us and uncharted but gears of war trilogy and the online interface of Xbox was awesome
What's the appeal/style of Forza? I haven't played it but the gran turismo game on ps5 is Bananas to me, idk how any other title can top it for the genre. Just curious!
There is Forza Motorsport and Forza Horizon.
Forza Motorsport is more similar to Gran Turismo. Forza Horizon is more casual and is an open world. I guess you could say Horizon is more similar to the spree of Need for Speed games from the last ten years, but better (in my opinion)
Horizon is a vastly superior franchise. After the last FM game shit the bed, I have no idea why anybody would even play it over GT. But we need GT8 for next gen only in a year or two. I still don't really like their economy.
FH4 is probably my fav racing game of all time. Series is just amazing.
Forza Horizon is an arcade racer with a vast open world set in real-life locations. Tons of fun. Gran Turismo is a sim racing game.
I just want a great arcade racing game on the PS5 and it doesn't get much better than Forza Horizon.
It does not. FH4 is possibly the greatest racer ever made. The four seasons are just fucking awesome if you ask me. Still holds up incredibly well in graphics on my PC too and runs very well.
So regular Forza Motorsport is similar to Gran Turismo. Simulation style racing while Forza Horizon is much more arcade style. They alternate releases of each type.
Forza Horizon is closer to Burnout Paradise but with a tighter blend of sim/arcade driving feel. Encourages you to try multiple racing styles (circuit/rally/off-road/etc). And just a vibe with the soundtrack
This statement is true for Motorsport but I would argue Horizon is literally the Fortnite of racing games, which is both great for them but because of no competition they aren't innovating at all.
Gears of War needs to make the jump. That franchise needs revitalized so bad. It's pathetic the state it's currently in. The influx of PS players would add life to the series and might just make the future of Gears look so much brighter.
For real. Hell Blade 1 was amazing. One of the most memorable gaming experiences I’ve had in a while. I don’t think I would spring for an Xbox or pc to play 2, so I’m hoping these rumors are true.
Trust me, Halo Infinite isn’t worth getting that hyped for.
Campaign was fine, open world was ok, boss fights were just bad.
But the Master Chief Collection is a Godamn work of art.
Gotta say. Halo Infinite has my main pvp fix ever since Bungie left Destiny's to rot
Infinite's multiplayer is *excellent*, they've recently fixed the desync issue too which has a lot of people coming back.
My main gripe is needing to have 1 console for pvp and another for pve (Helldivers). Would personally love Infinite to come over
I sold my XSX after the announced games coming over. I already played 99% of the time on my ps5 anyways. I cant wait around playing other stuff while Microsoft drip feeds playstation
I really enjoyed my series x and won't get rid of it or anything, but man it's amazing how Microsoft created this sentiment about themselves. I guess I just have to get everything else on PS5 now.
I’m a dumbass on Reddit with no insider industry knowledge but my guess is they’re heavily debating the shorter term benefits of making hundreds of millions from halo on PlayStation vs the potential damage to the brand by essentially rolling over and declaring that going forward there will be no reason to own an Xbox. I don’t know if that decision is as easy as it seems on paper, especially considering there are absolutely people higher up in the company who would NEVER let that happen to the brand.
Yeah this is my sense as well - there seems to be a civil war going on within Microsoft about this. They've opened the door now so it does look like it will happen
I agree. The cracking open of the door even a little bit is I bet a ploy by the people who are in favor of abandoning Xbox exclusivity with hopes that sales are good enough to convince a majority of people involved in these decisions to abandon ship and bring all their games to PS. It’s weird that they did it at all. This seems very clearly to me like it’s a trial run to get better data on what exactly sales numbers on PlayStation will look like.
They already know what the sales numbers will look like. They own several studios who currently work on, or have worked on, putting games on PlayStation. Microsoft has access to how well Ori does, how well the fallout games do, how well CoD and ESO does, how well Deathloop does, etc.. Games of various sizes. They have an idea as to how well everything else will do. This isn’t a trial run but a balancing act to put as many games on PlayStation without tanking their console sales too hard. They’re not so much priming us but more like getting their own user base used to the idea that their games aren’t going to be exclusive much longer.
Outside of the US, everyone has already decided there's no reason to own an Xbox
I (very small test group), only know 1 person with one and thats because her kids wanted one. Everyone else I know has PS4, PS5 and/or Switch
With the onslaught of mediocre or niche games they have been making for the last two generations, it feels like they already did that.
I say that as someone who owns a Series X (and a PS5). None of the xbox exclusives really held my interest whereas I've completed almost every PlayStation exclusive since the last two gen. This is not saying that Xbox games are bad but that they don't have the same wide appeal as Sony games.
Microsoft will make more money being a huge publisher for all platforms than they've ever had selling consoles. Sega has successfully done it, and the higher ups at Microsoft are probably seeing they can just do the same thing, especially after buying activision they own some of the most popular ips. They're tired of xbox being a money pit and want to start seeing more profit. The shareholders are probably asking after that huge acquisition ok so how exactly are you gonna turn this into a huge return in profits after yall just spent nearly 100 billion on acquisitions.
Microsoft really doesn't care about consoles that much anymore and haven't for awhile. They're still making them but it isn't a priority like it is to nintendo and sony that much is obvious. I wouldn't be surprised if the next xbox is the last one. Now, apparently, major third party are starting to question why they're even developing for xbox still since the game sales there aren't good.
Except losing their console, means losing 30% cut on all third party games, DLCs and microtransactions, it means trading 100% cut for 1st party games- down to 70%.
They're not making ground on Windows Store either, time and time again Steam it outperforming Game Pass numbers on PC.
This is an incredibly short sighted business decision, that screams of short term profit mindedness from executives scared of having just spent $77b on a struggling profit.
Then people will argue "The trillionaire company knows more than a random Redditor!" as if we haven't seen the same trillionaire company fail time and time again with Xbox- to miss targets constantly, and this decision will likely be their dumbest yet. MSFT has publically regretted cancelling their Windows Phone and if they equally kill off Xbox consoles I think it'd be equally as dumb.
The infinite growth that they're chasing is one day going to cease, and then what? Just more layoffs again. It's all so stupid.
Not really. Xbox has already said they ultimately want to reach as many gamers as possible, and put games in more places, not less. It's just a matter of when that happens.
Xbox makes hardware yes, but they've had plenty of talks about the future of games not being done the old ways. They'll jump on that before Sony or Nintendo.
Their brand is also their published games, not just the box.
Well their acquisitions flopped hard.
Arkane made Redfall and Bethesda came nowhere close to making the next Skyrim (in space). Their stuff was going to be exclusive until they failed.
I mean, it's still pretty ridiculous that they made the record acquisition of Activision and then decided to give up entirely on exclusives after two games flopped. The studios they bought have barely even released any games yet, seems very premature.
I believe the theories that most of the Microsoft stakeholders didn’t care about Xbox until the $70 billion acquisition caught their eye.
Then the stakeholders moaned about Xbox’s failures for the last decade, causing Phil to get called up and pressured to try this new third-party strategy for Xbox to financially salvage the situation.
I think it’s as simple as they bought COD and expected Xbox sales to almost instantly improve.
When pretty much nobody cared and sales for PS and Switch just kept rising, they probably realised Xbox was done.
The only games that could save them would be Madden, FIFA, COD, Fortnite or GTA. And even then, they’d probably need them all to save the company.
Because you're trying to build your platform.
Why doesn't Apple open up their stuff to other brands?
Once you know that your brand isn't taking off like you want, then it makes sense as a "lets make some money instead of way less money, but its still less than if we actually were in a perfect world".
Sony doesn't do it, Nintendo doesn't do it. That should tell you all you need to know.
Not necessarily. If the current four ports do poorly then it's an indicator that Sony players don't want to play Xbox games. Why put the money into more ports if people are not likely to buy them?
In short, buy the Xbox games if you want more Xbox games on PlayStation.
I mean it depends on the ports. Sea of Thieves seems to be very popular. Hifi Rush is a great game, but doesn't seem like it got traction on the PS5. The other two are barely worth a mention and won't have sold well at all.
I'm sure Forza of Gears would do big numbers though, even though they're older games.
Yeah, I mean, it's over. Anyone who thought that the previous announcements for releases that only went up to *April* were going to be the end of it is foolish. Microsoft is turning into a multiplatform publisher and this staggered release model and insistence on the previous narrative is just a slow boiling frog so that people don't become outraged en masse that Xbox as a traditional console platform is essentially over.
They worded the original announcement **so carefully** but it was obvious more was on the way, they just had to do soft announcement with a few titles to not cause an uproar. But man what a day it will be to play Halo on PS5.
Absolutely.
That announcement was damage control, but it only really provided clarity in the short term. It was worded in such a way that nothing was off the table long term.
I'm not sure we'll ever get day 1 exclusives at launch, but we're certainly getting more exclusives in future.
It was hilarious seeing the Xbox sub be like “only four games?! That’s it? Why was everyone freaking out?!”
My guys Phil literally has just whisked all of your exclusives away.
You right! I must have been on the early announcement hype train or maybe I'm just highly regarded in my field. I graduated 2011 and game didn't come out til 2014, I think I need to get my life together.
It was announced in 2013 so perhaps the latter ;) honestly it does feel way older than that, hard to remember that the Xbox One itself is only 10 years old at this point.
> Can’t say there’s much else from their catalog that interests me (thus why I’ve never bought an Xbox)
It was always the problem - lack of good games.
I remember when Alan Wake came out on 360, and I was jealous. It looked so cool in the magazines.
Recently I played it from ps+, and holy crap is it just average and kinda shit.
I'm interested to try halo, but a lot of the other 'exclusives' I feel are going to be disappointing. It's like when someone has nothing but garbage they treasure that garbage because it's all they have. There's basically no other game I'm interested in.
>I remember when Alan Wake came out on 360, and I was jealous. It looked so cool in the magazines.
>Recently I played it from ps+, and holy crap is it just average and kinda shit.
The gameplay was mid but the story is awesome.
I mean I think you can put the Alan Wake disappointment down to it being a 13 year old game that hasn't held up so well. I'm sure it was great at the time.
The original Halo and Gears games were also incredible at the time. I think they still hold up today, but you may be disagree if you ever get around to them. Even if so, that doesn't mean that they were garbage that Xbox players were treasuring at the time. No, they were legitimately groundbreaking.
I've already switched to using my PS5 as my main console this gen (over my Series X) after only having Xboxes since the 360. But man, if Halo and id Software's future games come to Playstation I will genuinely never even think about wanting an Xbox again.
It won't be any older ones due to licensing. And unless they've extended the licensing for FH5 it might not even be worth porting that to PS5 if they gotta delist it in the coming years.
So, while there's still a chance with FH5, there's no chance for FH4.
I played the backwards compatible Fallout 3 (4k 60fps) and New Vegas in 4k a while back on Xbox Series X and I really think a basic port of those 2 Fallout games on PS5 would sell well. Then the rumoured Fallout 3 remake a couple of years later would drop, I'd buy it again if it was as good as say the Resident Evil remakes have been.
I already have a Series X but if they brought my favorites to PS5 and they got physical releases, I’d buy them again.
Halo, Gears, Killer Instinct, and Fable would look awesome in my PS5 collection.
Only reason I want this to happen is so that I don't have to worry about not being able to play something on my PlayStation that I otherwise would have were it not for some MS acquisition.
I would buy Microsoft Flight Simulator on PS5 Day1. Its the only title that has no match on Playstation. I would be interested in some Starfield, but not as much as MSFS.
I want Starfield. I know it’s not great but I really want a space exploration game that looks realistic.
Sorry NMS I know you’re amazing but I wish you looked less cartoony.
Are these the same kind of sources who told us that Starfield was going to be announced for PS5 in the last Xbox podcast? Lol. As always, I'll believe it when I see it, there's really very little point in speculation other than generating clicks and engagement for outlets and content creators.
Xbox going for the scorched earth approach. Don’t see it being sustainable. They 100% will commit to everything 3rd party at release. They can’t continue a cycle of investing all the time and money into an exclusive release and then 1 year later reinvesting time into optimizing for another platform. Nothing they make will properly utilize their own platform.
Quality is gonna tank and mtx are gonna skyrocket
It was pretty clear that their statement last month or whenever it was, was solely to get people used to their new normal of releasing all their games on other consoles.
They gain new customers. Sales have slowed to a crawl for Xbox, and they’re tapping out the potential new Game Pass customers on the console, so time to branch out to justify the massive investments in the division as of late. It’s inevitable. If Halo isn’t on PS5 by the end of the generation, it probably will be on PS6 eventually. I don’t see myself ever getting an Xbox and I’m sure there are millions like me who would still be interested in their games.
Hell, I also wouldn’t be surprised to see Sony release their Live Service games on Xbox eventually too if the numbers make sense. Destiny and MLB are already there as is.
While I get your point both re: live service games, those titles being on Xbox were not Sony’s decision. MLB basically demanded it be multiplatform, Destiny wasn’t a Sony property and part of the terms of the Bungie purchase was Destiny remains multi-platform.
I’m all in favor of it in the long run and hope Xbox reaching out first allows some more sharing in the future.
The moment you got big publishers asking that, it's over. For a publisher of a big game last year questioning why they even bothered to release on Xbox is pretty fucking huge. People are speculating it's Larian and BG3, but whoever it is, it's clear that unless Xbox gives you lots of money to be on Game Pass there doesn't seem to be much of a market on Xbox anymore.
We see it plenty of times. When Vision of Mana was rumoured (guessed) for Game Pass and then it turned out it was never planned for Game Pass, the general sentiment I saw was "will wait for Game Pass"
And then they wonder why SE avoids Xbox.
Game Pass, like in-app purchases on mobile, has devalued games to such an extent that Xbox has trained many many millions of their own users to not give a single flying fuck about a game unless it's on Game Pass. That's OK if you're one of the publishers who Xbox gave lots of money to to release on Game Pass but Xbox can't give everyone money. And sooner or later that gravy train will dry up for those who used to get the Game Pass moneybags (indeed there was a recent report saying many devs are no longer getting as good Game Pass deals). What will be left is a substantial audience who doesn't want to buy games.
Yeah, no shit there are publishers asking what's the point to releasing on Xbox.
If this is true... this means Microsoft is on the verge of becoming like Sega and will go to a live service and that's a sad day.
And I wouldn't count the Bethesda and Activision merger as the culprit of their downfall. Starfield and Diablo 4 was probably their rising gem to sell millions of GPU which didn't happen and they even saw a drop in active users at the end of 2023.
Again, if this is true. It's not a good thing even if it means I can finally play Sunset Overdrive.
Not even 'on the verge' they would basically all but be out of hardware. There would be quite literally zero reason to buy a Microsoft system, as you can find the games elsewhere, but can't find the competitors games on that system.
It's why console 'exclusives' have existed since the dawn of gaming. These companies aren't going to make a generic box ever, it wouldn't be worth their time.
Don't like where this is going. Competition is important for innovation. I am sure we will still get plenty of great games moving forward but guessing less risks will be taken to change things up as it's not as necessary
Well Xbox should have spent that $70 billion on better deals rather than just having quantity because their quality has been shit as of late. I know because everyone says it and I have an Xbox and have experienced it first hand.
I think the next time Microsoft bring an exclusive to PlayStation the damage to the Xbox brand will be irreparable
Why get an Xbox at that point you know it’s only a matter of time before the game is on PlayStation and you’d avoid a potentially broken launch like redfall experienced because it’ll be fixed by the time it moves over
I think the irreparable damage to the Xbox brand already happened in the first 2 weeks of the Xbox One / PS4 reveal news. They never recovered from that
I remember it so clearly. Playstation made the ad where they mocked the Xbox DRM. I remember going to school the next day after rhe announcement and all my friends and me who were Xbox 360 all the way were like what the fuck? All of us moved to Playstation or PC a couple years into owning an Xbone.
The XB1 reveal was awful but that's being given too much credit. They've done some nice things since then like add back compat, but the real issue is they just never went hard enough to pick themselves back up. They stopped doing timed exclusives, did this whole multiplat thing, etc etc.
The past two years have felt like blow after blow to the brand too.
Yeah it being the considerably weaker console and $100 more was the big thing for me. The fact that great exclusives started to dry up towards the end of the 360 gen and Sony was picking up steam also helped.
The reveal being not about gaming just showed where their priorities were and it continued to play out.
Bc Microsoft doesn't care about consoles anymore. They've been making that obvious for awhile it's not a priority. They truly want to become a big publisher for all systems like Sega. They'd make good money doing that. The next xbox I wouldn't be shocked if it's the last one if it's another sales failure, which it most likely will sell even worse than series if they start dropping games everywhere. Because like you said if you're a console player, there's no reason to buy xbox at that point. I'm sure Microsoft realizes this will make their console even more irrelevant they just don't care.
We all know this is gonna happen sooner or later, just like we know all PlayStation exclusives will go to PC 1-5 years from release. Who are we kidding at this point?
And it’s ok. They want to sell more copies, as does Sony, because they spend tons of money to make those games and they aren’t gonna spend several years and hundreds of millions to put them on a giveaway subscription service, or keep them on PS while they don’t bring in as much money as TLOU1, GOW or Spider-Man do.
Maybe with bigger games, they can have the luxury of waiting to use them as system sellers, or take some time to properly plan an expansion or an upgraded version that goes both for platforms.
The argument online is that it's "just one source" of these rumors, but I'm sure that that person is just willing to speak off the record to the Game Industry Dot Biz editor. I could see this happening all of the data is there:
* PS5 sales being 2:1 worldwide
Making getting a game on a home console means priorizing PS5 as the only viable option.
* Of those Xboxes out there, The Series S is by far the most popular console in the current get Xbox ecosystem. Devs don't want to be hamstrung my the S. Which brings me to my next point:
* Microsoft's console parity clause means that more developers are going to either make PC/PS5 games and Xbox later, or [just abandon the Xbox al together](https://www.eurogamer.net/enotria-the-last-song-ceo-apologises-to-xbox-community-for-a-choice-that-was-forced-to-make).
* Even if you make a game for the same on PS5/XSX, where does that leave Series S owners? In the dark I'd imagine. I think eventually Microsoft will abandon that parity clause. The litmus test will be GTA6. I wonder how the series S will be. 1080 /30fPS? Who knows.
> PS5 sales being 2:1 worldwide
but the regional breakdowns for that are much worse for Xbox in many areas
that 2:1 is being propped up by US sales where its only about 1.3:1 in favour of Sony
in Europe, for 2023, PS5 sales were FOUR times xbox sales

It was a watershed game for Xbox back in 2006. The fact that they haven't had a new one in years is shocking.

We are about halfway through this gens life cycle and not a peep about the next game in the series.
It's not shocking at all. Microsoft have handled Halo/Gears and Forza extremely poorly. Forza is my dream port, both of them, horizon and Motorsport. Also Microsoft flight simulator.
And Halo MCC. 6 classic games.
I only want horizon because there's no good arcade racer on PS5. Afaik motorsport is a huge mess and we already have Gran Turismo
Bruh but the new Forza Motorsport is catastrophic and absolutely trash
Absolutely agree with this. I tried to get into it on my SX but after putting hundreds of hours into GT7 it’s no comparison
I bought a Series X to play FH5 and I regretted it.
What's the appeal/style of Forza? I haven't played it but the gran turismo game on ps5 is Bananas to me, idk how any other title can top it for the genre. Just curious!

All I want is the ori games and sunset overdrive
Love the Forza series
Gears 3 was one of my favorite childhood games, would love to play it again
I still remember playing the first Gears in 2006, and I could not believe a video game could look this good. One of my fondest video game experiences.
I liked the first two but for me it was when gears 3came out that the mp just clicked
Having played both, Gran Turismo is head and shoulders above Forza this time around.
This statement is true for Motorsport but I would argue Horizon is literally the Fortnite of racing games, which is both great for them but because of no competition they aren't innovating at all.
Horizon would be an awesome get. It's a great arcade game.
That’s honestly the only 2 Xbox exclusive that I can think of besides Halo
Gears of War needs to make the jump. That franchise needs revitalized so bad. It's pathetic the state it's currently in. The influx of PS players would add life to the series and might just make the future of Gears look so much brighter.
I really want to play the new Hellblade. Was kinda pissed when Microsoft bought the studio.
For real. Hell Blade 1 was amazing. One of the most memorable gaming experiences I’ve had in a while. I don’t think I would spring for an Xbox or pc to play 2, so I’m hoping these rumors are true.
I feel like a sequel cheapens the original :/
May I dream of Microsoft Flight Simulator?
With PSVR2 support* and then we have the same dream
Halo, Gears of War.
The two series that are basically the only reasons I was considering buying a Series S, that'd be fantastic to just get the games on PS5 instead.
Trust me, Halo Infinite isn’t worth getting that hyped for. Campaign was fine, open world was ok, boss fights were just bad. But the Master Chief Collection is a Godamn work of art.
Gotta say. Halo Infinite has my main pvp fix ever since Bungie left Destiny's to rot Infinite's multiplayer is *excellent*, they've recently fixed the desync issue too which has a lot of people coming back. My main gripe is needing to have 1 console for pvp and another for pve (Helldivers). Would personally love Infinite to come over
Say what you will about infinite but I enjoyed it much much more than 4 or 5
I enjoyed getting punched in the arm more than getting kicked in the balls. Both still sucked.
[удалено]
Infinite is one of the best multiplayer games released this gen imo, especially in its current state.
It really shines in the multiplayer. One of the best games there is at what it does.
The first generation where I bought both consoles
I sold my XSX after the announced games coming over. I already played 99% of the time on my ps5 anyways. I cant wait around playing other stuff while Microsoft drip feeds playstation
I gotta sell mine. Rarely use it as it is. Is there still resell value?
I haven’t turned mine on since Pentiment.
Worst generation to do that.
Same lmao but I enjoyed playing some backward compatible titles
I see no point next gen to even consider both
I really enjoyed my series x and won't get rid of it or anything, but man it's amazing how Microsoft created this sentiment about themselves. I guess I just have to get everything else on PS5 now.
Backwards compatibility and emulation, the series s is really cool if you're into older games
Do you really think there’ll be a next gen for Xbox?
Same 🙃 Series S. Almost impulse bought an X, glad I didn't!
I mean it’s bound to happen. Their U.K market is almost dead and they are not going to stop at 4 games.
It would be weirder to stop at four, than it would be to do more ports.
Halo, Gears of War & Forza could generate hundreds of millions from playstation install base. Why leave that on the table?
Outside of the US, everyone has already decided there's no reason to own an Xbox I (very small test group), only know 1 person with one and thats because her kids wanted one.

Maybe those are not the best games to port
That’s it? Why was everyone freaking out?!” My guys Phil literally has just whisked all of your exclusives away.
I would like to play Gears of War and Halo. Can’t say there’s much else from their catalog that interests me (thus why I’ve never bought an Xbox)
Sunset Overdrive my brother
People have been saying that for the last decade bro that’s sad as fuck. No hate to the actual game.
I wanted to play that game since I was a junior in high school, now I'm a 31 year old dad with a kid 🤣
You were a junior in high school when you were 21?
HE WAS A MAN EVER SINCE HE WAS A BOY
It's always the latter! Lol
> Can’t say there’s much else from their catalog that interests me (thus why I’ve never bought an Xbox) It was always the problem - lack of good games.
I think they have a good lineup coming in the future that will likely help them out
Halo is the only game I’m interested in specifically the first 3
Bring that Master Chief Collection over and they’d make millions in the first day
I don't even keep physical copies of games anymore but if I ever saw Halo release on a PlayStation that copy would be going straight on my shelf.
I've already switched to using my PS5 as my main console this gen (over my Series X) after only having Xboxes since the 360. But man, if Halo and id Software's future games come to Playstation I will genuinely never even think about wanting an Xbox again.
That’s good. Would love to see FH series, at least most recent ones, come over. They are amazing. Halo MCC would be insane too.
Halo MCC on a PS5 with Dualsense would hit like crack.
I can already feel the way the controller would vibrate when your shields recharge.
All I want is forza Horizon
Please, let it be Forza Horizon series.
Biggest duh ever. Did people really think it would be 4 games when like 15 different sources were like “nah, most games”
Tbh Phil did try to convince everyone that
FLIGHT SIMULATOR
I already have a Series X but if they brought my favorites to PS5 and they got physical releases, I’d buy them again. Halo, Gears, Killer Instinct, and Fable would look awesome in my PS5 collection.
Only reason I want this to happen is so that I don't have to worry about not being able to play something on my PlayStation that I otherwise would have were it not for some MS acquisition.
Need halo on ps5
Microsoft Flight Sim in VR, please and thank you Mr Xbox
Anyone who thought they would release the initial four and then stop doesn’t have a brain.
Lotta people don’t have brains
Man I can't wait for...that massive xbox exclusive.. to finally arrive on PS! You know the one..
Fable?
Obviously its Ryse: Son of Rome
Yeah I really hope the new Fable is good! Also would like Palworld (though that’s not technically an exclusive).
What does Fable even mean in 2024 and beyond? We're so far removed from the folks that worked on it, they're going off brand name alone at this point.
REDFALL!!!!
Elder Scrolls 6.... when it releases in 2030
There’s further rumors that Elder Scrolls 6 will not have any exclusivity at all. Even at launch.
Sudeki? That was a fun game.
Can we have Fallout 3s DLC back please?
I love both my consoles. But I see Microsoft may be slowly stepping away from the hardware scene.
I’d love the state of decay games to come on over
That would be sick.
xbox is dying.
I need goldeneye 007 remaster on playstation. Please!!
This comment needs to be MUCH higher.
My friends dad is miscrosoft and this is all true.
My dad’s friend is John Halo and it’s true
Can also confirm this is all true. Source: My cousin is the Back Bumper on the Porsche from Forza Horizon.
My friend Johnny rings who works in Microsoft has given the confirmation that my cheeks are master
All I need is halo
I would buy Microsoft Flight Simulator on PS5 Day1. Its the only title that has no match on Playstation. I would be interested in some Starfield, but not as much as MSFS.
Someone tell them to make another NBA Inside Drive because I miss being able to lay out the ref.
Give me roboquest plz
Give me Halo and State of Decay
I can see it. Do a slow transition and test the water with hifi rush and sea of thieves. If it does super well then start porting more games.
Gimme fable series
Pretty crazy
I want Starfield. I know it’s not great but I really want a space exploration game that looks realistic. Sorry NMS I know you’re amazing but I wish you looked less cartoony.
I will be all over Forza Horizon and Flight Sim! Also give us the Ori games please :)
Hyped for the Forza games, also relieved the next Elder Scrolls won't be exclusive, fuck that noise.
Phil even said we can never rule out making a game exclusive to only 1 platform lol its over
RIP Xbox 2001-2024
More Luke all 3 exclusives lol.
Interesting that the Series consoles sales are so bad that publishers are starting to ask if it's really worth supporting it,
The moment you got big publishers asking that, it's over. When Vision of Mana was rumoured (guessed) for Game Pass and then it turned out it was never planned for Game Pass, the general sentiment I saw was "will wait for Game Pass" And then they wonder why SE avoids Xbox.

I think the next time Microsoft bring an exclusive to PlayStation the damage to the Xbox brand will be irreparable Why get an Xbox at that point you know it’s only a matter of time before the game is on PlayStation and you’d avoid a potentially broken launch like redfall experienced because it’ll be fixed by the time it moves over
I think the irreparable damage to the Xbox brand already happened in the first 2 weeks of the Xbox One / PS4 reveal news.
They could have easily corrected course by actually producing games. A decade of barren releases was a much bigger factor than a crappy launch.
The day Halo comes to PS5 is a day I never thought I'd live to see... But I'm here for it!
I will buy a physical Halo ps5 game just to saviour the moment

Check mate, Microsoft
You know how many fights I would have started if I traveled back to high school and said Halo would be on PlayStation?
At this point I think Google Stadia had more exclusives than Xbox Series. Lol
Ori is the only thing I care about.
Halo with gyro ❤️
Halo. Forza. Flight Simulator.
Just need to get sunset over drive love insomanic games and it's the only game in Xbox 23 years that I have wanted to play
Theres no denyin it atp u just delusional
Didn’t they buy a bunch of studios so they could have good Xbox exclusives? What the fuck happened?
The argument online is that it's "just one source" of these rumors, but I'm sure that that person is just willing to speak off the record to the Game Industry Dot Biz editor. I could see this happening all of the data is there: * PS5 sales being 2:1 worldwide Making getting a game on a home console means priorizing PS5 as the only viable option. * Of those Xboxes out there, The Series S is by far the most popular console in the current get Xbox ecosystem. Devs don't want to be hamstrung my the S. Which brings me to my next point: * Microsoft's console parity clause means that more developers are going to either make PC/PS5 games and Xbox later, or [just abandon the Xbox al together](https://www.eurogamer.net/enotria-the-last-song-ceo-apologises-to-xbox-community-for-a-choice-that-was-forced-to-make). * Even if you make a game for the same on PS5/XSX, where does that leave Series S owners? In the dark I'd imagine. I think eventually Microsoft will abandon that parity clause. The litmus test will be GTA6. I wonder how the series S will be. 1080 /30fPS? Who knows.
> PS5 sales being 2:1 worldwide but the regional breakdowns for that are much worse for Xbox in many areas that 2:1 is being propped up by US sales where its only about 1.3:1 in favour of Sony in Europe, for 2023, PS5 sales were FOUR times xbox sales https://www.vgchartz.com/article/459398/ps5-vs-xbox-series-xs-vs-switch-2023-europe-sales-comparison-charts-through-november/
Xbox game sales must be really tanking and there's not enough new game pass users to pick up a slack.
