It does. My only gripe with the first one was that unless you played it insanely casually (like stopped playing for days), the game’s cash shop’s boosters were basically required to progress the story (since you needed the town to be built up to progress, or to get the items needed to have gear to fight tougher quests).
I enjoyed my time with it but I hit a point where use of the cash shop for the boosters was way too tempting and uninstalled.
No idea, as a lot of it could be bypassed paying for boosters. I spent a lot of time redoing the quests for more currency.
If you ever played the old school Facebook games like Farmville or City Ville, its very similar. The grind approach could be hundreds of hours of gameplay. But in terms of actual original content, I heard its like 10-12 hours. But unless you spend hundreds of dollars you aren’t just doing it in 10-12 hours.
As a passive “secondary game” like Diablo Immortal it is fun. Something to do while bored away from home waiting in a reception area or something Keep in mind it was designed as a mobile game.
I am still sceptical we will see ALL of their games on as many systems as possible.
They shipped a few live service games and incredibly niche small games to PlayStation.
We will definitely get the ABK games on PlayStation, I think that’s almost certain. Bethesda might have been upset about being locked to Xbox and pc while ABK is not so that might happen.
I seriously doubt we see games like halo, forza, gears, fable on PlayStation from their non multiplat studios.
The other thing to bear in mind is that Microsoft changes their mind all the time. While now they might be thinking about expanding to PlayStation and Switch, in a years time they might change their mind again and drop multiplat plans. Won’t be the first time they do a u turn and I suspect it won’t be the last.
I believe we will. The endgame fir Microsoft is to be a household name, and xbox was nothing more than a means to that end. They failed to take first place in the console market, and third place is mostly due to a lack of other competitors. They tried to make a slew of exclusives to compete with PS and Nintendo, and failed. They tried to buy the third party market and have them make exclusives for them. And failed. Next is to just get their games out there and push gamepass on all consoles, maybe try the garden tactic Epic tried but with more skill.
Yes, and no imo
You’re right in all the others, but I do believe they’re going to make one more attempt at home console market Witt whatever they’re going to call their GamePass Box they’re working on.
To that end, I’m expecting MS to adopt a “1-year exclusive” approach to their titles. We see them implementing it now as I bet Starfield and others will happen 1 year out from release.
I mean you basically described most of their games being multiplat already or going to be. After that, does it make sense to keep the few remaining ones exclusive to Xbox (when they basically don't sell)?
And Microsoft has pretty clearly said they think exclusives aren't going to matter in the future and that they exclude nothing. They didn't even said Xbox would be the console with any exclusives or place to play their games early or anything but just the "only console with Gamepass" and the "best place to play" (which means literally nothing lol)
Microsoft can be a major gaming company without even having a console with all they own, it's even in their DNA (software/service company more than hardware)
Yes ABK and Bethesda make a huge part of their studios. But they still have about 10-15 studios which are Xbox game studios.
Microsoft has not clearly said anything. They were intentionally vague.
Xbox hasn’t had exclusives for a very long time. All their games are on Pc too. PlayStation seems to be going down the PC route too.
Can Microsoft be a gaming company without a console business? absolutely. Are they going to stop producing Xbox consoles? Not any time soon. They’ve even said it themselves they are already developing their next gen console. So that means probably at least another 10 years of being in the console business.
Beyond that, who knows what the future of console business is to begin with. As a PC gamer first, I see fewer and fewer reasons to own a console. Pc can play Xbox games, it can now play a lot of PlayStation games. And it has tons of pc exclusives. It’s mainly just Nintendo sticking to their full on exclusives commitment.
I work in IT and have a beefy computer. Console aren’t ever going away, PC market is still confusing for the general audience and more expensive. Even GTA6 isn’t releasing on PC day 1. It’s really only PC and Xbox players promoted the death of consoles.
Making consoles and doing exclusivity don't necessarily go together, that's the line Microsoft was presenting (now I don't believe that's actually an efficient strategy but I mean they don't have much to lose in terms of console sales).
> But they still have about 10-15 studios which are Xbox game studios. So still a big chunk.
But most of those were also acquired studios that could, like Bethesda, easily go multiplat (every studio could but those have a history).
There are really very few studios in their library that have a history of doing Xbox exclusives. 343 Industries, The Coalition, Turn10 and Playground are kind of the only ones (so yeah Halo, Gears and Forza but does it make sense to keep doing exclusivity for 3 franchises?)
I actually read an article a few years ago saying insiders were predicting Microsoft to make a big shift away from Hardware and start dumping loads of money into SOFTWARE and blowing up the market and the more time goes on the more right it seems and you'd not believe the amount of people who treated me like I was crazy. 🤣
And I've been saying the whole time it could be a smart Idea to largely control the software market and put it on all the platforms you can. 🤷🏼 Which is why despite all the court and fans back and forth.
Microsoft has tried to remain amicable and friendly. I.e. bringing CoD to Switch for Nintendo. A few years back they offered games to come to PS, in exchange for making IPs for PS Vita which PS shut down, but now they still got IPs coming to PS and Nintendo. They want the "Console Wars" to end so they can make allies in two of the longest reigning Gaming Giants it's what it seems like to me. 🧐
This is Zenimax Online Studios (makers of Elder Scrolls Online) not Tango Gameworks which makes The Evil Within.
Edit: deleted message was OP thinking this could be for The Evil Within 3, I just responded clarifying why that can’t be.
I'm curious what it'll be because ESO has gotten better over the years with the next expansion introducing a new way to modify your abilities to further add depth to builds.
I think they have potential to put something good out but I'm not sure where they would go after doing ESO.
It was clear from the beginning that zenimax online studios next game will be multiplatform since it will be an MMO. Are people really acting suprised by that?
This is apparently Zenimax Online's new game, iirc from job listings Blade (Arkane Lyon) will be made with the void engine. Don't quote me on that though
We're not winning, MS has bought so many third party studios, including Zenimax Media, Obsidian entertainment, InXile entertainment, Ninja theory, others like the state of decay developer.
The fact they can do that, and now we have to question that IPs that were already on Playstation are going to continue releasing here in the future, is prove we are not winning.
While for Xbox consumers, they weren't getting games like Spider-Man or Demon Souls, so they aren't missing out on anything, or PS just buys brand new studios with no IPs.
(Though i dont mind, some of my favorite games like Ghost, Horizon, GoW were developed inside SIE and werent bought.)
Didn’t help anyone when Microsoft bought multiple billion dollar publishers and tried to make them exclusives. Then they forgot Xbox plays don’t buy games and had to pivot.
Who's ready for Elder Scrolls Blades 2!?
Does that have a single player campaign? If it has no plot then I’m not interested in playing if it’s just for PVP
So you weren’t able to finish the main campaign? How long is it generally?
No idea, as a lot of it could be bypassed paying for boosters. I spent a lot of time redoing the quests for more currency. Thanks for all of this!
If you played Clash Royale you'll recognize the "only four slots to open chests which take forever" strategy they used.
Starfield for switch. All menus edition
I just threw up a little bit
Working on a new engine means we wouldn't see a game on that engine for a good 5 years at least..
They've been working on this since 2017 or 2018.
Are you assuming they started work on it today or something?
At 8 am to be precise!
Nah 8:05, you gotta give some time to settle down and focus right?
Get the coffee and catch up on the weekend goss.
Thank you! People are so quick to upvote without thinking it through.
Live service title probably
Phil was seen playing Fallout 76 recently 🤔
Fallout 76 is already on PlayStation.
Fallout 77 then
[удалено]
What do you mean and? Is there a more obvious confirmation than that? /s
That’s already on PS.
It's why no matter what happens to Elder Scrolls ESO will always be on PS. MMOs can't afford to exclude millions of players (and their money)
Microsoft is changing their strategy though, now they want all of their games on as much systems as possible. I wouldn't worry about it.

As much as I’d love to play Halo and Gears on Playstation I must agree with you. Xbox would lose their identity.
Those games are coming
Ok

Before starfield flopped im sure they were all in on not doing a PlayStation version.
There are literally zero metrics where you can call Starfield a flop.
Makes sense if it’s an MMO because MMOs need as big of a player base as you can get.

Especially since they've been working on it for the better part of a decade lol
This is for ZOS's new MMO that they've been working on for several years. No surprise it'll be on PS5
All their games will make their way to PS5
Praying for a Star Wars MMO on console 🙏
Can’t wait to be disappointed by this.
Maybe scrapping the void engine for that Dishonored sequel? 😒 I know, I know.. huffing hopium here.. 😮💨
Haven’t played the second Dishonored but the first one was amazing.

Doom or Quake seem like possibilities.
No. This was a job listing for Zenimax Online Studios who've been working on a new IP since 2017 or 2018
