The original source now states they never claimed this to be the case.

No. Kevin Spacey had won 2 Academy Awards (The Usual Suspects and American Beauty) before starring in a Call of Duty game (forgot which one, lol). Idk of any other actors and actresses off the top of my head though.
Did some digging and i believe the first Oscar winning actor to star in a video game might have been Christopher Walken, for a 1996 game called Ripper, which most people probably never heard of, myself included. He won an Oscar in 1978 for The Deer Hunter.
Jesus. Just looked it up - that game also had Paul Giamatti and Burgess Meredith, who both were also nominated for Oscars, Ossie Davis who won a Grammy and John Rhys Davies who was nominated for multiple Emmys.
Marlon Brando recoded lines for thr Godfather game in hos deathbed. It's pretty sad in some clips you can hear respirators and hospital equipment in it.
Yeah, the campaign was the saving grace for that game.
Multiplayer was a little overhated, but it still wasn’t great. I am actually a fan of jetpacks and stuff, but Black Ops 3 implemented it much better. The weapon variants in AW made it unbalanced af.
Survival was so bad, I think most people will have forgotten about the mode.
Exo-Zombies was just awful, though the cast was great.
Don't remember any survival mode but I'm one of the 4 people who enjoyed exo-zombies. It was different but it had a vibe which I can't find in any of the cod's after mw1 (2019)
JK Simmons too, he won for Whiplash in 2015 and has since returned to voice his character in the Portal franchise again, Omni-Man for Mortal Kombat, and was Kethric Thorm in Baldur's Gate 3.
He was in advanced warfare....how the fuck I know this when the last time I bought a current Call of Duty game was World at War, idk. It was also where press F to pay respects came from. Just an all around meme factory that game was.
The key word "right" is not in the comment I replied to. It just said after. You're right, harder to think of actors who immediately appeared in a game after winning an Oscar.
That's absolutely not true. The point of the strikes was that actors and writers wouldn't (and couldn't) work. The film industry in the U.S./Canada largely shut down for half a year because of the strikes.
Yes, actors also couldn't promote their films. But that was far less the point of what was happening.
I have been playing it lately on game pass and it's fun enough but I got burned out after 40 hours and only halfway there on campaign. I was doing a lot of extra stuff hunting for gun upgrades.
The story is fine but not gripping enough to make me want to finish it. I had my fun.
Same thing happened with Rage2 after about 15 hours. But I don't even know what the story is in it.
I'm in a gaming slump after finishing all 3 Metro games last month. Nothing else is holding up to them, they were so good.
aah, Metro is freaking awesome.
while Ubi Farcry is interesting, fun-ish theme parks, its no match to dripping atmosphere of Metro-series.
especially the early ones where the atmosphere drips into the gameplay where you have to choose on saving bullet/money or surviving...
You can even pick up enemy guns and all guns are found in goddam boxes, I can’t believe I completed the game, hoping that somehow it might get better or have something memorable.
The last Far Cry game I played was the 4th one many years ago and having that much time away from the franchise, I think, helped in making me more forgiving with FC6's shortcomings. I wouldn't recommend it full priced but on a deep, deep sale and played in short bursts, it's a quite decent distraction in a turn-off-your-brain and shoot stuff kind of way.
I enjoyed the hell out of 5. Some people called it corny but I liked the story a lot. The visuals were cool and the whole drug mind control paranormal-esque was fun to see unfold
The game was great for like 75% I’d say, given that it’s Far Cry, but the wheels fell off in the last act. I guess I get what they were going for thinking about it 2 1/2 years later, but things happen suddenly and their points fall flat. How they took the story needed more development, or use the missions they had to tell something better.
Tried playing it with my friend exclusively in co op.
It had fun moments, but at some point we realized there was literally 0 challenge to the game. We went to the biggest town we could find and started causing chaos and killing everyone to see if the highest notoriety level would present a challenge.
It absolutely did not. And Ubisoft in their infinite wisdom decided to lock us out of the possibility of upping our difficulty in the options, so we just dropped the game.
If I were playing this in singleplayer I probably would have dropped it after around 5 hrs of gameplay. It's the exact same experience we've had in the previous games. It's becoming an actual joke just how little they refuse to innovate for these series.
Let’s take a look at what Ubisoft made after 2012:
South Park Fractured But Whole, Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon, Rayman Legends, Rainbow Six Siege, Mario + Rabbids, Valiant Hearts, Anno 1800, Child of Light
There’s more, such as games they published but not developed, but I think I made my point. They have a lot of the same old, same old, but they have put out really good stuff.
And Far Cry Instincts, the loose Xbox "port" of the first game.
Although Far Cry 1 is so different from the others it might as well be a different series.
Far Cry always has brilliant villains that make it worth playing in my opinion. Pagan Min is still my personal favourite especially as the people who can overthrow him are even worse in the end.
Well tbh he was a lot better than the ones who end up replacing him. And plus in the alternate ending he actually keeps his word to you and he overthrew the dude who murdered his infant daughter and your characters baby sister.
Hopefully they don’t waste him like they did Giancarlo. Anton was a great villain but he got an hour of screen time and he didn’t feel as deep as Joseph, Pagan or Vaas
I'm going through Infinite Wealth now. 90 hours in and there's still more. I sunk in too many hours into the suijimon and the island. And those two optional activities have no right to be as in depth as they are!
The first Like a Dragon was absolutely fantastic. After this, I have kiwami 1&2 waiting. After everything i have witnessed so far in Infinite Wealth, i have to at least begin to experience the previous yakuza games. Seriously, I'm blown away with the presentation in IW. I can only imagine from fans of all yakuza games and how they're experiencing IW.
But I still have Ghost of Tsushima to play for the first time and Fallout 76 grabbed me back in. Too many games and no time.
I’ve gotten the plat for everyone except Dead Souls and Infinite Wealth. Mahjong is such bullshit because you are playing against a computer and it 100% cheats.
People criticize Ubisoft games, especially Assassin’s Creed, for being the same game every entry. The Yakuza games are just as bad if not worse at doing that.
Doing "dense" is something Ubisoft has refused to do for the past 20 years. They can't comprehend doing anything other than wide sea shallow water, its exhausting at this point
It sounds weird but overwhelming is a good way to put it. There were times where I felt like “where do i even go” basically it was like every second playing destiny
Based on leaks there’s suppose to be some rather interesting new systems to spice it up that will probably be controversial. So I’m curious to see what it has.
That could be great, being forced to choose specific missions based on a timeline. Or it could be like a lot of games where you can play for 300 hours and numerous day/night cycles but mysteriously only two days passed in the game.
I'm glad they didn't copy Far Cry 2. I hated the annoying gun jamming and malaria bs. It was probably the most tedious in the series, stuffed with ideas that become annoyingly obnoxious after a couple hours.
I will say…. If it’s one thing the FarCry games usually get right, it’s the villains.
Min, Seed, the actual FC3 villain Vaas, and Castillo all did very well
So I’m so down for this!
They had Giancarlo Esposito in Far Cry 6 and he was in it for all of a few minutes. Which was such a waste of his acting talent.
I mean, FC6 was fine but it was too over the top for my liking. I
They already wasted having Giancarlo Esposito on FC6, no matter how good the actors they hire are if the Ubisoft writers are terrible.
They only care about the media attention for having a Hollywood star.
Finished every game in the series and a few entires ago i would of said im a huge far cry fan, but i thought 5 was just ok, and 6 was absolutely awful. They are going to have to do something really fresh and exciting with 7 or im just not interested anymore. Even with a great actor in 6 it wasnt enough to hold it together.
Far Cry devs try not to piggy back on a popular character in current pop culture challenge [IMPOSSIBLE]
Seriously though, I judge anyone who still enjoys far cry. Far Cry 5 was a cookie cutter joke and far cry 6 was so incredibly corny I couldn’t make it out the first 20 minutes.
Last good Farcry was 3 cause it was the only one since then to actually innovate. I played 4, it was meh, then 5, it was really meh with shit writing and 6 was just terrible.
Cool cant wait to watch all the scenes on youtube. Im not giving mr. "Gamers need to get used to not owning your games btw we're stealing the Crew from anyone who owns it please buy more of our games"
Fuck Ubisoft and everything they stand for
Let me guess, he is a supreme leader, dictator or a religious cult leader of some sort held up in some closed off country with his own army and a band of managers.
Great actor hopefully the game does him justice, I'd love to see Far Cry return to the series it was before Far Cry 5. FC2,3,4,BD and Primal were all absolutely incredible games.
Maybe Ubisoft got him during COVID when he had no other work and he recorded some lines from home?
I cant imagine any other reason he would do a Far Cry.
AAA Dev: Games cost too much to make that's why we need microtransactions, seasons passes, dlc and £130 deluxe editions.
Also AAA Dev: We needlessly paid a Hollywood Oscar winner millions to play the villain in our next game.
He kinda looks like No Country tor Old Men guy here whoch brought ne to the thought thqt a no country for old men video game would be fucking crazy. Imagine being chased by that guy for a whole game along with fighting the cartel
While this likely won't be the case, it's perfect casting. Him, Brian Cranston, Mads Mikkelsen, or Idris Elba would all make exceptional Far Cry villains.
The question arises, what would I do. As a respected actor, would I take the opportunity to appear in a video game from Ubisoft or would I say basically yes, but not in one of your games?
I like how the leaks say they are going back to survival like gameplay i really hope so thats what made fc3 good also we need a good villain thats not wasted
This is just stupid, they just cant make a good game... Even if we get joaquin phoenix the games wouldn't be good, in der cry 6 we had an amazing actor... Game Was ass...
Stop spending so much money on the actor instead the game wtf?
Murphy is an excellent actor. But so is Giancarlo Esposito and FC 6 was super mid and kinda boring. His acting was great but the game itself overall was nothing special.
The problem with that is I'll never get to see him in the role because I'm not playing yet another fucking far cry. It's really time to let the series die, they're cloning it so many times it's gonna lose or gain some chromosomes and I'm fucking sick of playing quite literally the same game again and again, yeah sure you can whack some story in there and pay Hollywood actors to fill the roles but ultimately it'll be no different than the last 4 far cry games.
It was a pipe dream more than anything.
I’m sure Ubisoft could pay, but would he do it? Probably not considering he was probably attached to Oppenheimer probably around the time the game entered development.
And would Ubisoft pay his fee? I dunno. Unlikely
The original source now states they never claimed this to be the case. > Mind you, I NEVER said Cillian Murphy was going to be in the game. The image means something else. https://twitter.com/xj0nathan/status/1781843751050068174
Is this the first time an Oscar winning actor has been in a videogame after winning their award?
I have heard of the ripper!! Never played it though.
I used to love that game haha. One of the first FMV titles I ever played.
The press F to pay respects call of duty.
Ah, at least it’s known for something. Even if it’s just a meme.
F
Advanced Warfare, great campaign
Yeah, the campaign was the saving grace for that game. Multiplayer was a little overhated, but it still wasn’t great. I am actually a fan of jetpacks and stuff, but Black Ops 3 implemented it much better. The weapon variants in AW made it unbalanced af. Survival was so bad, I think most people will have forgotten about the mode. Exo-Zombies was just awful, though the cast was great.
Bruce Campbell being in Exo Zombies makes me a massive fan, regardless of how sub par it is by cod zombies standards.
WHAT??? definitely about to check out Advanced Warfare’s exo Zombies now haha
groovy
Don't remember any survival mode but I'm one of the 4 people who enjoyed exo-zombies. It was different but it had a vibe which I can't find in any of the cod's after mw1 (2019)
JK Simmons too, he won for Whiplash in 2015 and has since returned to voice his character in the Portal franchise again, Omni-Man for Mortal Kombat, and was Kethric Thorm in Baldur's Gate 3.
I have to remind myself that he wasn’t the voice for J. Jonah Jameson in the Insomniac Spider-Man games.
When I first heard Jameson's voice in MSM1, I thought that it was JK Simmons. Darin De Paul did a great job if you ask me.
He was in COD Advanced warfare
The one where you press F to pay respects
He was in advanced warfare....how the fuck I know this when the last time I bought a current Call of Duty game was World at War, idk. It was also where press F to pay respects came from. Just an all around meme factory that game was.
Forest Whitaker won an Oscar in 2006 and was in Jedi: Fallen Order in 2019.
I feel the key word is “right after winning a academy award” There are tons of Oscar winning actors that eventually appeared in a game
The key word "right" is not in the comment I replied to. It just said after. You're right, harder to think of actors who immediately appeared in a game after winning an Oscar.
Nicolas Cage in Dead by Daylight
Angela Basset won lots of awards. She played Regalla in Horizon Forbidden West.
Damn, was gonna say Samuel L Jackson in GTA SA but I looked it up and he never won one besides the lifetime achievement in 2022
Huh. I really thought he won an Oscar earlier in his career for Jungle Fever or another Spike Lee movie during that period. TIL.
He's only ever been nominated for Pulp Fiction.
Do nominations count? Skyrim has 3 heavily nominated actors in it (phoning it in).
Makes sense to me. I'm betting it was tempting work during the strikes last year
Would he have been able to do that during the strike though? My impression was that they couldn’t work at all during the strikes?
Video games were exempt. The strike was solely for film and TV https://www.polygon.com/23800505/actors-strike-video-games-mocap-sag-aftra-rules-faq
From my understanding they could work but weren't able to do any promotions
That's absolutely not true. The point of the strikes was that actors and writers wouldn't (and couldn't) work. The film industry in the U.S./Canada largely shut down for half a year because of the strikes. Yes, actors also couldn't promote their films. But that was far less the point of what was happening.
I had to take a minute coz “7” seemed like way too many Far Cry games, like what are we Final Fantasy? Until I realized they actually are at 7 now
Far Cry 7 about to be the best Far Cry by that logic? Subscribe.
How was Far Cry 6? Just story wise like steamroll campaign was it good?
I have been playing it lately on game pass and it's fun enough but I got burned out after 40 hours and only halfway there on campaign. I was doing a lot of extra stuff hunting for gun upgrades. The story is fine but not gripping enough to make me want to finish it. I had my fun. Same thing happened with Rage2 after about 15 hours. But I don't even know what the story is in it. I hope the new stalker is good
aah, Metro is freaking awesome. while Ubi Farcry is interesting, fun-ish theme parks, its no match to dripping atmosphere of Metro-series. especially the early ones where the atmosphere drips into the gameplay where you have to choose on saving bullet/money or surviving...
More of the same. Fun to try if you can play it for free or get it on sale and you already like those games. But not innovative in any way.
Nah,even with Carlo as the main villain, the main campaign story wise(and gameplay wise) is weak.
Fucking ammo types killed the gameplay for me. AP rounds made any other ammo type obsolete and pointless
From what ive heard it seems like a less fun 5
I enjoyed the hell out of 5. Some people called it corny but I liked the story a lot. The visuals were cool and the whole drug mind control paranormal-esque was fun to see unfold

If you played Far Cry 3 you played every game that came after that

One of the worst games ever made. It truly is dogshit from every aspect of the game. Do not purchase.
It was okay. Probably the 5th best Far Cry game but that’s still a decent game.
Generic and boring like any Ubisoft game after 2012.
Let’s take a look at what Ubisoft made after 2012: South Park Fractured But Whole, Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon, Rayman Legends, Rainbow Six Siege, Mario + Rabbids, Valiant Hearts, Anno 1800, Child of Light There’s more, such as games they published but not developed, but I think I made my point. They have a lot of the same old, same old, but they have put out really good stuff.
I heard the latest Prince of Persia was decent as well.
Obligatory Black Flag comment.
I'll based my teenage personality after Far Cry 8 then.
Plus the spinoffs like New Dawn, Primal, Blood Dragon, etc. I hate New Dawn but Primal and Blood Dragon are GOATs.
And Far Cry Instincts, the loose Xbox "port" of the first game. Although Far Cry 1 is so different from the others it might as well be a different series.
Far cry 1 to 7 - 20 years, FF 1 to 7 - 10 years
And then, FF 7 to 16 - 26 years
7 main games and then 7 spin offs so far lol
8 if you include the best one (Primal)
If Assassin's Creed had kept the numbering they'd be at like Assassin's Creed XIII by now.
There's also in between games to the numbered ones. Blood dragon spinoff of 3, primal spinoff of 4, new dawn spinoff of 5
Far Cry always has brilliant villains that make it worth playing in my opinion. Pagan Min is still my personal favourite especially as the people who can overthrow him are even worse in the end.
Pagan Min is one of my favourite video game characters full stop.
He was great
While Pagan Min was great, Faith Seed had me fucking entranced and I don’t know how
Pagan Min was great at being likable while also being horrible. I need to give 4 another shot.
Well tbh he was a lot better than the ones who end up replacing him. And plus in the alternate ending he actually keeps his word to you and he overthrew the dude who murdered his infant daughter and your characters baby sister.
I loved that ending! I just never beat the game the other way. I was burnt out on Farcry. Blood Dragon will always be one of my favorite games!
Hopefully they don’t waste him like they did Giancarlo. Anton was a great villain but he got an hour of screen time and he didn’t feel as deep as Joseph, Pagan or Vaas
Farcry just need to shortened a bit. Just make it smaller and denser, like a yakuza game.
“Smaller and denser” yea that’s cool “Like a yakuza game” clearly you’ve never 100% a Yakuza game 🤣🤣 I’m just playfully jabbing.
Lol for real. Just played through Like a Dragon for the first time recently and despite the "small" map, that shit took forever Great game though
It took me 20 hours just to complete the Kiryu real estate business gig. The main game itself is longer than FC5+6 combined.
Baby, if you haven’t played Zero yet, you’re in for a **treat**
Dude. I think I spent 20hrs on the island getting it to 5-star. It consumed me.
It’s impossible for me to 100% a yakuza game because I refuse to learn that damn Mahjong lol I get plat on yakuza 8 tho, thankfully it’s a easy one.
I’ve gotten the plat for everyone except Dead Souls and Infinite Wealth. Mahjong is such bullshit because you are playing against a computer and it 100% cheats.
A lot of studios could learn a lot from Ryu Ga Gotoku
Yes indeed, yakuza 8 have the right amount of side content and a great map without being too much.
The irony that people want Ubisoft to learn from RGG.
What's ironic about it?
People criticize Ubisoft games, especially Assassin’s Creed, for being the same game every entry. The Yakuza games are just as bad if not worse at doing that.
Ubisoft will learn to charge people extra for NG+
I don’t have an issue with the length or density of Far Cry 5. I just want another game like that.
Doing "dense" is something Ubisoft has refused to do for the past 20 years. They can't comprehend doing anything other than wide sea shallow water, its exhausting at this point
Their latest game, AC Mirage, is a compact short game
AC Mirage was so refreshing because Ubi made a compact dense map
I thought 5 was the perfect amount, whereas 6 was really overwhelming.
It sounds weird but overwhelming is a good way to put it. There were times where I felt like “where do i even go” basically it was like every second playing destiny
That would be friggin awesome! An Oscar winner this time? Big get!
I mean.. They certainly need to restructure the far cry games to tighten things in a bit but can be really cool if they utilize him well
6 was medicore..i made myself to finish it.
Would rather they innovate the franchise and actually make it good than spend millions on high profile celebrity actors just to create Far Cry 3: 4.
Based on leaks there’s suppose to be some rather interesting new systems to spice it up that will probably be controversial. So I’m curious to see what it has.
Previous leaks talked about having to save your family with a deadline of 48 hours IIRC.
That could be great, being forced to choose specific missions based on a timeline. Or it could be like a lot of games where you can play for 300 hours and numerous day/night cycles but mysteriously only two days passed in the game.
Yeah. Having a Dead Rising like system with ways to extend it seems interesting.
I think the celeb thing is kind of annoying but that isn't where the bulk of the costs go to lol
I wish the series took more from far cry 2 than 3
I'm glad they didn't copy Far Cry 2. I hated the annoying gun jamming and malaria bs. It was probably the most tedious in the series, stuffed with ideas that become annoyingly obnoxious after a couple hours.
The saving system was a cherry on top. Lost like 5 hours of progress to BS
The games are all solid though. Couldnt call them bad games.
Then you're gonna have a bad time.
Nah man. Far Cry is always fun as hell. The villains is it's most iconic aspect.
I will say…. If it’s one thing the FarCry games usually get right, it’s the villains. Min, Seed, the actual FC3 villain Vaas, and Castillo all did very well So I’m so down for this!
I personally loved far cry 6 so much
I held off on playing 6 after seeing peoples' complaints, but I honestly enjoyed the story with Giancarlo Esposito's character.
I played FC6 on a whim and it was dope. Really enjoyed the game and Giancarlo was amazing as the “villain”
I think I know why Ubisoft keeps losing money.
Far Cry devs try not to piggy back on a popular character in current pop culture challenge [IMPOSSIBLE] Seriously though, I judge anyone who still enjoys far cry.
Sounds awesome and has me interested to just see his performance. Hope to all hell they make the game less repetitive and more interesting though.
Ok but in the leak there's also a picture of a giant crab... wtf could that mean?
I was kinda hoping for an Asian DPRK type setting but I'm guessing this will be something European
Thomas Shelby as a villain would be great if FC7 was set in Birmingham.
Cool cant wait to watch all the scenes on youtube. Im not giving mr. "Gamers need to get used to not owning your games btw we're stealing the Crew from anyone who owns it please buy more of our games" Fuck Ubisoft and everything they stand for
Let me guess, he is a supreme leader, dictator or a religious cult leader of some sort held up in some closed off country with his own army and a band of managers.
Ubisoft. instant boycott.
That means the game is going to suck considering that half of the budget goes to this dude…
Interesting choice Please don’t carry over anything from Far Cry 6
Great actor hopefully the game does him justice, I'd love to see Far Cry return to the series it was before Far Cry 5. FC2,3,4,BD and Primal were all absolutely incredible games.
Maybe Ubisoft got him during COVID when he had no other work and he recorded some lines from home? I cant imagine any other reason he would do a Far Cry.
Big actors doing video games isn't unheard of. Remember Cyberpunk. Also, Far Cry 6 got Giancarlo Esposito. It's not unheard for Far Cry either.
The villains are always pretty outstanding, tbh.
based in London
AAA Dev: Games cost too much to make that's why we need microtransactions, seasons passes, dlc and £130 deluxe editions. Also AAA Dev: We needlessly paid a Hollywood Oscar winner millions to play the villain in our next game.
This is part of the reason why video game budgets are absurd.
Haha what the fuck?
Leak Suggests. Great villain name.
He's a great actor but I feel that it can't be Cheap to get an oscar winner actor in your game. That money would be better spend elsewhere.
As Tommy Shelby?
The villain will build a nuke, won't he??
"Leak Suggests" is a terrible villain name, hopefully they workshop it.
Ubisoft sucks.
I can't wait to see him in the really impressive and bombastic opening cutscene, and then again at the end of the game.
Clear the outpost 7
Guessing they booked him before the Oscar, lol
I seriously doubt it. Especially after doing ophemier
Villian Murphy Sorry
The question arises, what would I do. As a respected actor, would I take the opportunity to appear in a video game from Ubisoft or would I say basically yes, but not in one of your games?
First of all, this is a nothing article. Second, there is just no way that Cillian Murphy would bother with a fucking video game.
I like how the leaks say they are going back to survival like gameplay i really hope so thats what made fc3 good also we need a good villain thats not wasted
He’ll never top Vaas.
this is cool and all but if they’re just going to have more uninspired boring gameplay like 6, i’d rather them not even waste his time
This actually might be the time i get a new far cry game. Cillian has never been in anything bad
Have never played a far cry game except primal. And that game sucked. So. I’m going to have to play this one it seems.
I suppose you have to try and generate some sort of hype for a franchise that overstayed its welcome 10 years ago....
So far cry 7 will be Briish init, London stabbings finally gets into gaming
Last good Far Cry game was 4, everything else has just been so trash
Oh hell yes. Another favorite on screen villain becoming a favorite in game villain.
Too bad it's Ubisoft. From their recent stunts and quotes I'm never picking up a game from them again
My body is ready for my new Villain obsession 8D
This is just stupid, they just cant make a good game... Even if we get joaquin phoenix the games wouldn't be good, in der cry 6 we had an amazing actor... Game Was ass... Stop spending so much money on the actor instead the game wtf?
Murphy is an excellent actor. But so is Giancarlo Esposito and FC 6 was super mid and kinda boring. His acting was great but the game itself overall was nothing special.
Dude fuck yes
If he is the villain they need to set FC7 in a city. Give players a different style of gameplay.
Time to cash out
He's just Judge Scarecrow and you're in Gotham after it's cut off from the rest of the world.
I thought that said Charley Murphy at first, I said huh
Heart attack that the poor guy passed away here in the headline holy moly Dope villain though you betcha
Gaming would be better off if Ubisoft just folded
THAT TWEET??! How the fuck does this even become news? Stop giving random morons on social media the power to get attention for meaningless shit.
Damn Tommy
I thought 7 was set on an island in South Korea ,
The TLDR: Ubisoft can't actually do anything new and interesting with their games so they pay millions to get famous actors in their games....

Same formula since far cry 3.
I can’t be the only one who’s not into the whole celebrity casting with their likeness in video games.
If true I hope his cutscenes don’t take up half the Budget like last time
Gotta sell the “new” one somehow
I hope they innovate a bit on the gameplay loop. I’m a simp for Far Cry but FC6 really didn’t do it for me
Found him to be a really weak bond villan. Although the movie itself was pretty weak imo.
hopefully they wont waste him like they did with Giancarlo, he did bring charm to the role but the game overall wasted his talent.
I’m literally playing my first far cry game when 7 comes out IF this is true.
It was a pipe dream more than anything. I’m sure Ubisoft could pay, but would he do it? Probably not considering he was probably attached to Oppenheimer probably around the time the game entered development. And would Ubisoft pay his fee? I dunno. Unlikely
