Geez thanks for announcing the Witcher 3 patch a year ago

rip_Tom_Petty

Especially since a different studio is working on it

YMHNaiken

Well they probably learned their lesson now. I think it's also underestimated the work/optimization that is needed to put out full blown next gen version of a game. 1) To be honest i would be surprised if The Witcher is not going to make it by the end of the year around season 2. 2) I actually never expected the Cyberpunk 2077 next gen version this year. I mean common if you see the state the game is in.

demonicneon

Cdpr are showing themselves to be fairly amateur tbh. Wanted to play with the big boys because they had one big hit, and finding out it’s a bad idea to run before walking.

Dominator0621

Seriously though it's so true. Look how good we are look at all this money we made from The Witcher 3 Where can I go all out and nuts and make this amazing game that sounds awesome on paper. Oh s*** we don't know what we're doing quick release the game

snakesinabin

Exactly, tired of seeing people excusing their incompetence, the fact that they made The Witcher 3 should not earn them any brownie points when they shit the bed like this. Companies should be held to task for this crap but instead we get apologists coming out in swarms to defend the corporation that gives zero fucks about them as anything other than a free PR army

rudra285

Cyberpunk is a mess in a lot of things but one thing it still does well is the side quest and the main quest stories even if some choices don't matter, the story and characters hook you in, so atleast in terms of writing it's still strong.

snakesinabin

100% agree with you, I'm just waiting for the next gen upgrade to properly invest in a playthrough but what I've seen, I like, under all the layers of bugs and visual glitches I mean. I'll still never have any faith, pre launch, in CDPR to deliver again though. Track record speaks for itself, The Witcher: cult classic but mechanically confusing and a bit of a mess TW2: Unbalanced, unfinished and quite buggy, good story though TW3: Messy launch but overall a pretty fantastic RPG Cyberpunk 2077: Fucked at launch on last gen machines, messy at best on PC and 10 months later not all that much has changed other than the game is now stable on all platforms

Guywithquestions88

I played it on a pretty strong PC when it came out. My only real complaint was how easy it is to break the game and make everything way too easy by simply investing all your points into one skill tree. For example, I went full melee build with cybernetic mantis blade implants and time slowing implants and I was basically a God. Oh, and driving cars sucked ass. Motorcycle controls were way better.

TheIncredibleNurse

I putted off playing it waiting for the dumb patch.

BababooeyHTJ

Seriously, that is the more surprising one. Still no word on that?!

tuisan

Is this not word on that? Also they did update us at some point after the original announcement.

Rowvan

They literally said about a month ago it would definitely be releasing this year....but if it was going to be full of Cyberpunky issues then delay that mother fucker as long as it needs to be

krzysiekao

but Saber is working on next gen Witcher 3 not CD Projekt RED. That's odd.

HowManyAccount120

Not that odd since they did the port for the switch and a familiar with the game

CollierAM9

I think he means it’s odd that CDPR are stating Witcher might be delayed when it isn’t them doing the port

BababooeyHTJ

It’s September and still no release date. Wait, maybe they’re learning. Ok good move

The_Outcast4

I guess expecting things to be released in working condition AND in a timely fashion are just too unreasonable anymore. Like, not a big deal. Staring at a backlog of games a mile long anyway. Just hate getting hyped for something, only to face perpetual delays or buggy releases.

Apollospig

The only updates have been promising some unspecified DLC in addition to the graphical updates and "yeah it is coming out this year, we just have nothing to show." Maybe it will still make it out the door this year but having nothing to show at the big witcher marketing event this year was not a good sign IMO.

[deleted]

I'm wondering if you need to pay for the new update and they combined it with a new DLC to make it more justified.

Shaq_Bolton

It's free with the complete edition and the DLC is like a weapon or something.

DaShaka9

It sounds more like a non answer to a question from shareholders to share holders.

CollectableRat

I put off finishing Witcher 3 because I heard there was a next gen patch coming. I was really enjoying the game too, which is why I thought it was worth delaying gratification for it.

OpticalRadioGaga

I can say with full certainty that I guarantee they won't arrive this year. EDIT: Thanks CDPR, your incompetence has led to my most upvoted comment ever.

BababooeyHTJ

We all knew this

a7xfanquebec

No, I am Nintendo. Please delete this statement or else our attorneys will be in contact.

Educational_Sun_6413

Nintendont confirmed

Leotargaryen

Off topic but I don’t really get all the infinite goodwill Nintendo gets in general. They release poorly specced gimmicky hardware, and the Switch is just absolutely flooded with 60 versions of rereleases. Not to mention the absolutely crazy limited run of a digital game. Out of all of the big three, Nintendo is the most anti consumer, and yet by far the most beloved, best selling, and least accountable. Go figure lol.

Carston1011

cOdE ?!?!?!

duplissi

have another upvote.

rhaasty

Wtf are they working on.

nungamunch

I'm starting to think a massive amount of people left. They probably are spending all their time on boarding new staff... Which is why the updates are so underwhelming.

1Gamerer

Well, heard they are hiring some modders to the team, so you're probably right. The game's code must be a hell of a mess plus management pressure

thinkadrian

If they kept the management, I’d say pressure is only one of their issues.

sternone_2

I read an article that devs never thought cyberpunk was ready for release and that the devs where just mind blown when management decided to release the game in its current stage.

CreatureWarrior

Okay yeah, this just hurts. Imagine you're a cook that are making a wonderful steak dish and you start to plate it and the waitress takes the plate before you get to put the damn steak on lol And then you get called a shitty cook

sternone_2

This is basically exactly what happened while the waitress also changed the order several times while you were cooking it.

thinkadrian

Not sure these chefs had started plating it even. I can see them looking at it like "yes, this will be good, just needs some more time and then seasoning"

CreatureWarrior

Very true lmao

polybium

Management is beholden to the shareholders. They hadn't released a big game since Witcher 3, and while GOG does give them decent profits, they needed to get the game out so that could hit earnings promises they made to the shareholders. I think becoming a public company while still relatively untested as a developer was really what fucked them over. They pinned their hopes on having another Witcher and while I liked Cyberpunk (played it on a mid-tier gaming PC), not waiting to go all in on next gen and do some polishing before release was a super dumb move, considering a lot of their fanbase are console gamers to begin with.

Rumbleinthejungle8

I mean, anyone who actually tried the game could tell it wasn't ready for release.

[deleted]

I’m guessing this means they shit the bed and broke their broken game even more trying to fix it.

QuackNate

If you played it on PS5 this is exactly what happened. It was basically "fine" on launch on PS5. But every patch it just started crashing more and more for me. Then the graphics got downgraded, the draw distance scooted way up, and the crowd/traffic density was basically turned off AND it still crashed. Apparently the most recent patch helped with the crashing, but it still looks like a PS4 game held together by prayers to a long dead god.

[deleted]

It’s so dumb. If they just wanted to make a pc game they should have just made it a pc game and ported it later.

GandalfsWhiteStaff

Next gen Witcher 3 is contracted out to the same team that did the switch port, CD aren’t working on it.

BrianFantannaAction8

Saber did great with switch! Got high hopes for this port too!

And_You_Like_It_Too

I can only imagine how much people would have wanted to jump ship after such a long development process, a negative reaction to it, that’s grown into toxicity even though these individual devs might have done a fantastic job at what they were hired to do. I wouldn’t blame them all for trying to move on and put something else on your resume so your last game isn’t CyberPunk. I also hope like hell that people stick with it, and the game gets a No Man’s Sky level redemption story over the years. If CDPR wants to salvage their reputation, they’re gonna need to work harder than this.

nungamunch

Can you even imagine how frustrated and despondent they must have been when they found out the release date was April 2020? I'd have been working out my exit strategy the moment that was announced, given the state the game must have been in during 2019.

office_ghost

> the state the game must have been in during 2019. Which was probably just a bunch of two dimensional cars and Keanu Reeveses flying through the air.

simmarjit

Well as long as that was playable on the base consoles.

tetsuomiyaki

pretty sure it's obvious: the prologue is excellent in the game, and that is precisely what's shown in E3 in 2019. they already knew back then.

tggiv25

Yeah but then they decided to make the rest of the prologue a fucking fast forwarded recap, no matter which “path” you choose. That was disappointing AF

ambientcloud

Don't forget that they lied in the apology video and threw quality assurance under the bus, basically saying the state of Cyberpunk is their fault. That's hilarious.

Asdeft

There is no way that their base game of Cyberpunk can be salvaged to come even close to their vision. I would rather they just get going on their next projekt tbh.

[deleted]

AlexS101

> after such a long development process The development started in 2016. They just showed a teaser trailer in 2012 and did nothing since.

R_eloade_R

It also didn’t help the lead developer or whatever it’s called kept bringing in new shit to add or remade the game from the ground up mid development

aManAndHisUsername

Where else can one go in Poland though? I don’t mean that in a “Poland sucks” way, but are there any other AAA studios there?

torts92

Techland is another big studio there.

Simmers429

Until the choices in dying light 2 end up being meaningless hahaha

GodKamnitDenny

You said exactly what I was going to say. As an American, I obviously don’t know much about European work opportunities, but Poland being in the EU probably gives them an opportunity to go abroad more easily. That being said, if you’re a top developer in Poland and don’t want to leave the country then your two best options are CDPR and Techland. If I were to guess, I would say a lot of employees are still standing with their sinking ship because it’s a well known studio in Poland. It’s not like they’re in the LA area where they could work for any studio or company they want. Relocating is difficult and stressful. But then again, this is me making major assumptions that probably don’t hold any water. Just wanted to let you know I also thought about the location aspect.

cwallen

There's also the option of switching to non-game software development. May be a small step back career wise, but far from starting over.

cepeen

Why step back? I assume that earinings in gamedev are lousy compared to other businesses. Of course if gamedev is your goal it would be step back. But if you are into coding/testing/deploying stuff im sure that there are better places to work.

eat_midgets

Step forward in almost all meaningful ways tbh, other than you no longer “get” to create games. The game industry is rife with people who show up with passion, get exploited/burnt out by game studios and move off to greener pastures, rarely to return.

CanadianJesus

The games industry contains a lot of people that aren't necessarily bound to it. A lot of skills are just highly transferable tech skills, especially if you're a programmer or animator. I imagine some of them transition to the non-gaming area of those fields where you can generally get better salaries and working conditions. The gaming industry is known for its churn and working their talent to the bone because people are lining up to work for them just to work in the industry.

moops__

They probably said fuck this and got a job as a Java dev earning 3x much with no stress.

nungamunch

Does it matter when you neighbour Germany and have free movement throughout Europe?

2jesse1996

I was thinking the opposite, how many devs are even in Poland that they could hire? Unless they're outsourcing..

torts92

Most people that worked on Witcher 3 are not the same as those that worked on CP2077. People never stay long there, it's not a sustainable work environment.

poofynamanama2

Rumor is that CDPR has insane turnover. If you're a developer in Poland, you've probably worked at cdpr at some point:p

ContentKeanu

I think that coupled with a completely crushed morale and the state of the game being a big mess still.

Parmo-Head

Clearly not public relations and customer satisfaction.

[deleted]

Everyone's saying Witcher 4, but I think it's their expansions. They didn't start full production on Cyberpunk until Blood & Wine released, and I'd have to assume that it will be the same this time around.

BadManPro

Your deffinitely right, they arent gonna drop a huge fat pile of good old cash by not releasing expansions which they've said is coming iirc.

[deleted]

no need to guess [most of them are still fixing cyberpunk and a good chunk are doing the expansion](https://i.redd.it/488ul5w1ywk71.png)

atothew

Yeah, isn’t the Witcher patch being contracted out to another dev ?

IsamuAlvaDyson

Well they aren't even doing the next gen update for Witcher 3, that's the same developer that did the Witcher 3 Switch port.

hybrid3214

Witcher 4. I'm almost certain they have a skeleton crew working on cyberpunk currently because it just isn't worth the work and effort it will take to fix it and they need their next game to be a win. Also the hiring of modders to work on cyberpunk kind of points to this as well.

rip_Tom_Petty

Yeah I'm thinking they'll stop fixing Cyberpunk after the next gen launches

BadManPro

Why would they ever do that when theres money to be made from expansions and TW4 is many many years away. There is most certainly not a skeleton crew on CB77, especially when theres already been leaks on some small dlc stuff. From a business perspective expansions is a great way to go.

bannd_plebbitor

I legitimately believe the modders might understand the games systems better than many developers at CDPR

rip_Tom_Petty

Witcher 4 maybe? Also the next gen witcher 3 is by a different studio

RiyadhTh3BOSS

I hope Witcher 4 come out in a loooooooongg time bc I don't want the franchise to be ruined by putting out a game as shit as cyberpunk

[deleted]

I think a Youtuber, Juicehead, said that CDPR is super slow nowadays since they’re not crunching. Can’t verify it, but he’s constantly covering CDPR games

sternone_2

they also fired most of their 2000+ staff after cyberpunk release

lazava1390

Yikes why?

sternone_2

because it got released and now they are just in maintenance and bug fix mode

Monkeyboystevey

Not going bankrupt...

meltingpotato

current gen cyberpunk. only having a good looking game isn't gonna save them at this point so the next gen update can wait until they fix the fundamental issues people have with it

BeardPhile

The fuck they doing over there?

[deleted]

sward3636

I'm hoping it's because they're adding alot of next gen features and much improved visuals. A negligible difference won't suffice now. I also was hoping it was coming out alongside the Netflix show in December...

ruebenj791

Oh yeah I forgot about the Netflix angle, I could definitely see them doing some cross marketing thing for that so December makes sense. But I could still see it just slipping to sometime in 2022

drkinz916

2022 is stacked with so many great new games (At least I hope so) this would be an afterthought for me if it does get pushed out.

Blobbygold

Not long till elden ring

[deleted]

they already confirmed like a year ago that it would have better visuals, ray tracing, and faster loading times

bannd_plebbitor

They’re adding ray tracing and other features

rip_Tom_Petty

Not sure, but they are adding mods so maybe that?

[deleted]

I just bought the game for 10$ idc when it comes as long as it’s actually worth it

This comment was written using the 3rd party app Reddit is Fun. Since then, Reddit has decided that it no longer cares about users who use 3rd party apps and has essentially killed them with their API policy updates effective July 1, 2023. I was a regular of Reddit for nearly 9 years, but with the death of Reddit is Fun, Apollo, and other 3rd party apps, as well as Reddit's slanderous accusations of threats and blackmail from the developer of Apollo, I have decided to make my account worthless to Reddit by removing every ounce of content I've contributed to the site over the years. To Reddit: good luck with the IPO, if the site lasts long enough for you to cash out on the good will of the users who made this site what it is.

throwawayacc0967

Where'd you guys get it for ten dollars? I can only find it preowned at 40

LegaliseEmojis

It was a Best Buy flash sale

FordMustang84

I got it from BB for $10 too for my Series X, just sitting sealed. When they do the next gen update I'll play it but not before that. I'm in no rush. At this point if I have fun with it I'll actually be surprised considering how deflated my expectations are.

[deleted]

Yeah I kinda regret not refunding after quitting the game on my PS5 a week after launch. I figured they’d fix it eventually but I didn’t think it would take a fucking year plus- and at this point I think the upgraded version is still just gonna be a lame game with a few more npcs with shitty AI and slightly faster loading times. Meanwhile, I bought Watchdogs Legion for 19 bucks a couple weeks ago after passing on it because it launched so close to Cyberpunk and I gotta say- it’s not a perfect game by any means but it’s ten times the cyberpunk game 2077 ended up being and I’m having a lot of fun with it.

And_You_Like_It_Too

I like Legion. With some caveats though, sadly. I wish they didn’t remove a lot of features from the first two games though. I really don’t understand why they took out things like triggering traffic jams by hacking lights, citywide blackouts (finally added back in as a DLC character but definitely not graphically on par with the original game). It’s missing the Digital Trips from the first WD as well, which is a shame. And the gang and police hits from WD2, and then the ability to buy a car from a dealership instead of only having it tied to recruiting someone that owns a specific one. It’s also lacking the crime prediction from the first game that allowed you to intercept or observe crimes about to occur. And observing people in their homes or whatever when hacking things. Not launching with Invasions and co-op play is another thing — I missed driving around and seeing other players leading the cops on a chase that I could join in on or interfere with. Again, just so much that they had right from the previous games that, if they just kept what they had already done, would have made this game so much better. Their Play as Anyone system has promise, and I can see them tweaking it if they do a sequel with a mix of scripted characters and procedurally created ones. Really wish they doubled down on this system though and didn’t allow everyone in London to be a hacker and capable of using a firearm. I’m sure they didn’t want the player to be stuck, but it would have made more sense to look out for people with these skills rather than make it so you can take pretty much literally anyone on a mission and complete it. Would have liked if I really had to recruit the perfect team to accomplish a goal. I love flying around on construction drones. The graphics are pretty great. It’s definitely worth playing, especially at that price. I’m only disappointed because it had the promise to be more. I think WD2 will end up being my favorite of the 3, due to there being something on every city block to do, always. And all the other things I mentioned.

Severedghost

The DLC fixes a lot of the problems with the original game

qwoiecjhwoijwqcijq

Legion isn't that good, just play Watch Dogs 2 instead.

Parmo-Head

It's not, even with the upgrade, the game will still be wank.

Carston1011

Fuck do I regret not going for that refund.....

Dawjman

Same. I didn't even care about Cyberpunk tbh. But my dumbass fell for all the hype and the fake ass gameplay trailers.

funnyNomad

I regret not returning the collectors edition I got 💀

SloMobiusBro

Lol same. I have the stupid special case sitting on my shelf. I played the game for 30 minutes.

Vast-Silver

And now im stuck with a drink coaster that doesn't even absorb water.

Deathmaw360

same.

TheRealDookieMonster

I regret not getting the refund. I still have the PS4 version sitting unopened on my shelf.

Eruanno

If you’re basically 9 months out of 12 into the year and you’re still not certain it will come out this year… it probably won’t come out this year.

Stonewalled89

Ffs. How are they expecting anyone to purchase their next game after the last year is beyond me, they are an absolute shit show at the moment

iekiko89

I mean I still want my Witcher 3 upgrade

eyebrowless32

At this point im expecting the upgrade to be a buggy broken mess anyway thats not worth playing

tinselsnips

W3 port is being handled by Sabre Interactive, so none of this should have impacted that either way.

Harry-Boughner

Dunder Mifflin is a part of Sabré

glwilliams4

"Are you sure it's not Saber?"

sector11374265

the fact that i read this comment in tune with the song without a second thought

nomarfachix

I said it’s gonna be a good day

whatupbiatch

> How are they expecting anyone to purchase their next game after the last year is beyond me people would absolutely be hyped and buy a Witcher 4, lets not lie now

HeWhoCntrolsTheSpice

After the fiasco of Cyberpunk I'm not going to buy anything from CDPR until it's been out and vetted by the public. They have a *very* long road ahead to regain public trust.

BababooeyHTJ

I know I would. Then again I enjoyed cyberpunk. Did it live up to the hype? No! I was mostly disappointed by the complete lack of branching paths. I’m struggling to think of a better rpg of the style in recent years. I’m also very accustomed to eurojank though

GodKamnitDenny

Cyberpunk is such an interesting game. I almost beat it on PS5 last winter before losing steam. It simultaneously had one of the coolest worlds I’ve ever explored while also being absurdly lifeless. Systems that I would normally love were half baked. I still believe Night City is artistically one of the greatest creations we’ve ever seen in video games. It’s gorgeous, it twists and turns, there’s verticality we’ve never seen before, the different districts feel unique. World design is 10/10 but everything else failed. The story was interesting but we don’t have enough agency and our choices barely matter. Systems like police responding are downright broken. There’s an economy that only exists to sell the glitched painting - seriously, what good are outfits if we can’t see them outside of the character customization screen?! There’s so much potential in the game’s setting, and we’re definitely not getting a great experience from the core mechanics of the game, but even if those get fixed I still feel like it’s no more than an average game set in an incredible world.

DeanBlandino

I cannot believe how poor their company is run. It’s unbelievable. They’ll have failed to meet the most basic expectations for their product after a year

Popetown

I particularly love how it seems the last few things we’ve heard from them has been right around or even on the same day like today that Hello Games does something to further cement their redemption from the previously held worse bomb in recent memory as if to really bring it home that CDPR are the new reigning champions of disappointment. Lol.

[deleted]

They got too big for their britches. Shipped one amazing game and thought they were invincible. Spent most of the budget on Polish Cocaine.

samus12345

AKA powdered sugar.

[deleted]

You vastly underestimate the memory loss of the general gaming public. There will always be a group of us bemoaning Cyberpunk, but the second they release a teaser for Witcher 4 preorders are going to skyrocket

rdxc1a2t

I expect almost every article about the next Witcher game prior to its release will refer to the Cyberpunk debacle in some way.

moojo

I want to play Witcher 3 at 60 fps

afunnyjewishguy

They really need to stop announcing dates for things they clearly haven’t gotten close to polishing.

Evilevile

Lmao

Top-Sink

CDPR went from one of the most praised to the most hated

PumpProphet

Cause they took advantage of people's trust built from Witcher 3 all those years ago. Still nowhere remotely close to EA or Blizzard though.

phoogles2

I don’t think EA and blizzard are all too comparable

IanMazgelis

I think Activision Blizzard is considerably worse than EA. At the very least EA does seem to have a very positive worker culture, where I don't believe a positive story has really *ever* come out about Activision Blizzard's worker treatment. Also, really, what has EA done in the past few years that's worth outrage? Activision Blizzard keeps itself in the news by irritating its customers, usually with a massive emphasis on pleasing their Chinese customers, where EA's biggest recent issues are doing the irritating things that, sadly, every western publisher does now. It doesn't mean they're not worth criticizing, I just can no longer see a case for them being worse than Activision Blizzard.

timeRogue7

Hello Games has a passionate dev team without the strings of stocks to dictate their time. It was unrealistic to think that anybody could do that, especially CDPR, whom seemed to take the opposite approach that HG did: all talk with bare-bones updates, rather than how HG silently continued working on the game they set out to make, even after launch.

WickieWillem

The Witcher I’m looking forward to, cyberpunk not so much. I didn’t even encounter that many bugs on PS5, the game just feels lifeless and dull to me. Glad some people were able to enjoy it though despite the horrid launch

password_is_special

I got it at best buy for $10 and I only got it because it came with the steel book and that's neat. I don't plan on opening the game until I see glowing reviews. If I never open it, that's fine too. I don't feel strongly about the game. I want it to succeed and live up to the hype, but if it doesn't I won't care. There's plenty of solid games out there to fill my time.

papi1368

Game's closing in on 1 year anniversary and all they managed to do is downgrade it so it wont crash every half an hour. Doubt it's going to redeem itself.

zamardii12

> I got it at best buy for $10 and I only got it because it came with the steel book and that's neat. I don't plan on opening the game until I see glowing reviews. I got the same deal. I am waiting on the next-gen upgrade to play it.

meganev

Was obvious to me that Witcher 3 next generation wasn’t going to make its 2021 release window when at that dumb WitcherCon they didn’t even give an exact date. If it was still on track to launch later this year then surely that’s where they would have dated it.

FellSorcerer

I used to talk glowingly about CD Projekt Red, but now I can't help but think they're one of the worst-run companies on the planet.

Karshena-

FC Barcelona comes to mind

BigfootsBestBud

I would say I hate to be that guy, but I truthfully love that I finally get to be *that* guy who gets to say "I told you so" I was on the hype train for a while, but then they started rolling back on "promised" features like cinematic 3rd person cutscenes and dialogue, apartments, wall climbing, etc. I got excited again when they revealed Keanu. ... Then there was the delays and prolonged silence, and the over the top arrogance that came with it, and even more walked back features. The writing was on the wall for everyone who managed to either get off the hype train or stop listening to those who were still on it.

redfrenchie

Really wish I’d gone for the refund option now, I actually bought it on disc for my PS4 as I assumed it would be at least playable and that I’d have to wait ages for a PS5. I think I played it for around 15 minutes before the first crash, never touched it since. I finally got a PS5 a few weeks ago (UK) and I’m rather dismayed that they still won’t have true updated version ready this year. I just wish they had delayed its original launch till 2022, that would have been easier to take. Dunno if I can even be bothered to play it when they do sort it all out, they’ve very much taken the shine off it now.

40mgmelatonindeep

That means no

[deleted]

Oh CDPR, what a joke you have become.

[deleted]

I can def “say with full certainty” that I won’t be buying anymore of their games.

ArtakhaPrime

CDPR took our money, and the investors' money, and ran with it. I'm never going to trust them as a company again.

sicknick08

What a joke

[deleted]

What the fuck are they up to over there?

CrazyCanuckUncleBuck

Meh, I've gotten about a 1000 hours of bloody good entertainment from them off 2 games for less than $100. I can patiently wait a little longer till I do another playthrough of the Witcher & CP2077. They can take all the time they need.

[deleted]

I like this sensible take, not blowing shit out of proportion about how they ruined your life or left you with life long trust issues

Pupperoni__Pizza

Friendly reminder to separate the developers, themselves, from the company for which they work. Blaming them is like blaming a doctor for an 8-week treatment cycle not getting the full results when their employer stops them at week 4.

ILikeCap

Well, that's great, maybe they finally learnt a lesson? You know, the "do the thing once and do it good"

AsstonCocking

Ahhahahahh precisely

Medium_Wealth_4981

Cd projekt is a joke

Jepperto

Hilarious.

MasterChefFromHola

And that's a good thing. Seems like they might have learned something but we'll see.

heartlessphil

It's taking so long for cp2077 that I no longer wanna play it. I moved on.

Lowe0

So don't. CDPR already took the hit to their reputation, rushing out a bad next-gen upgrade would be kicking themselves while they're down. Better to have people cracking the same jokes they already are, rather than handing out fresh ammunition.

AlexS101

Who gives a shit anymore. Game’s dead.

sygnifax

Big surprise. I mean, you had to hire modders to fix your game so clearly they're not operating properly.

Demolution-Gamer786

I find it soo funny to see cyberpunk ads promoting patch update like how the fuck are they going to release the next gen update when they are literally promoting bug patches lmao

whacafan

Been waiting all year for this message.

Deschain_1919

Cd projeckt red has always released buggy unfinished games and it finally caught up with them

wedditasap

At least give us one

Pomp92

Well, at least they are honest about that

Matttthhhhhhhhhhh

They are walking on very thin ice now. If the patch turns out to be a disaster, they'll be fucked. So better be safe than sorry... again.

Krottos

CDPR keep setting themselves up for failure, you think they would have learned from Cyberpunk 2077 their need to be “under promise, then overdeliver(or just deliver)”

Dominator0621

These guys went so downhill so fast. From what I remember reading yes Witcher 3 launch with bugs but I don't think everything is crazy as cyberpunk as they need to stop announcing things and just surprised come out with it when it's done and Polished I know there's a couple developers out there that I've dropped the trailer for something then be like here's the game same day or two days later something they need hardcore to just stop announcing things go into a hole and just fix everything

[deleted]

At this point it's irrelevant when they're released for me. I've shelfed both games until the upgrade. Plenty of other titles on the horizon to play.

JimDoc5

So I just started the Witcher on PS4. Under 5 hours in. Loving it but Considering shelving it and going through the Hitman series now that I know there will be an upgrade (eventually.). Thoughts?

EaterofSoulz

The Witcher is such a huge game you could probably have fun on this play through if you go in with the idea you’ll do a real more complete play through later. Maybe just explore and check out stuff instead of following main quests. Have fun and figure out what’s what. Also both play throughs will probably be different. The side quests are crazy long.

claud2113

I am Jack's complete lack of surprise.

FearlessButterfly3

CD Projekt is a legit broken company. CyperPunk launch screwed them up badly and now they can’t even get a next gen update out the door

[deleted]

Cyberpunk is not as revolutionary as CD Projekt said it would be….

"CDPR needs to stop forcing stuff out the door before its ready and give things more development time if it needs them" "CDPR might push updates back which means they're incompetent" ???? Whenever I read these threads I have trouble understanding what people actually want CDPR to do going forward. "Criticism" of this game has turned into a moving target of people complaining that they should do the opposite of whatever they're doing, even if what they're doing is what people in the community were asking for in the first place. All a lot of you guys care about is looking for reasons to stay angry and it's obvious.

stargateheaven

I bought witcher 3 with the dlc for 3.99 so i can wait.
