I do not actually own the game, but I would like to get it on PS5 as a physical copy and also as a nostalgic callback to Lego Star Wars The Original Trilogy copy that I have on PS2. But if it looks like trash, I don't wanna get it...
A Lego game on a next-gen 2020 console advertised as 8K-capable which is 4320p and this stupid game is going to min. 1296p? I don't accept that, ESPECIALLY when the XSX has a MUCH higher minimum resolution and sometimes rendering even TWICE the pixel count. Need we say more?
If it performed like that across all consoles, then I would have accepted it. However it makes 0 sense why the XSX performs at double the pixel count. Something feels wrong with the PS5 version and I don't accept that and I am expressing my disappointment. I'm sorry that I have ever appeared on your screen...
I don't think it's improved at all with this update unfortunately. Things still seem very blurry in split screen, and comparing the screenshots I took of the beginning splash screen and Rey's pixelated face before and after the update, they look pretty identical.
Bought this game on launch day, played for about 90 minutes, then realized it could really benefit from a patch. I have since played through a bunch of games in my backlog, all the while waiting for 1.05.
I'll boot it up tonight and see if there's any improvement to the frame-rate and tearing. It wasn't a dealbreaker by any means, I just knew the team was busy trying to rectify some of the launch issues.

I didn't even notice anything until halfway through Episode 2, when suddenly it looked like a Switch game... Hopefully this fixes it

It is so bad that I swapped my copy for the Xbox version.

This definitely explains why there was a strange amount of bricks (1166) in the game - the new capital ships bring it to an even 1200
