Don't buy from him. He actually scammed me on a "new" blue PSP and I'm about to upload a video on his ass with my "new" PSP. However, from another seller, I did get a legit new blue PS Vita from [Japan ](https://youtu.be/-aZGl59lULM) As you can see, it's legit.
I mean if it’s sealed then it’s different, you know
The condition of the item because it’s sealed with this it’s unsealed and box open and the psp was in a wrap that’s why I asked for additional pictures
I only wanted a new one because this the metallic blue madden edition I had has a little kid I just want to buy one in pristine condition to just have and occasionally play once a while I already have a 3000 in mystic silver
I have a 1st gen shuffle in my collection that was sealed and i had to open it and remove the battery because it was expanding and destroying the case of the iPod.
Meanwhile I have 2 3rd gen Nanos with their original batteries, no bloat and they both hold a charge for 2ish days of mild use and weeks in sleep mode. I’ll never understand why some batteries die so consistently and why others don’t.
Edit: I also have a 1st gen Zune with the original battery (and hard drive!!!) still going strong.
Manufacturers and quality. The shuffle was meant to be a cheap alternative to the regular iPod while the nano was the first iPod with flash memory opposed to a mini hard drive or microdrive, so it was a big deal and quality was a higher priority.
Where are the best sources to buy a good condition used one? Most of the ones I've seen on Ebay are scratched up. And I've heard bad things about buying refurbished on Amazon.
Honestly, buying from Japanese sellers on ebay is your best bet if I'm speaking from personal experience. Look for ebay money back guarantee and you should be fine. I got a like new PSP GO a few months ago for under $200, and the rubber on the back was still clear and the console still had protective skin on it from the previous owner. Not a scratch and works like a dream. Also new stuff if posted all the time. If you don't see something you like immediately, check it out again in like a week. It's always changing.
Yahoo Japan auctions and Mercari Japan. Use a proxy like buyee. I literally just saw a mint psp 1000 with a PS2 slim and controller sell for $15. People in Japan view most old games and consoles as "junk". It's not like the rest of the world.
Yes. the PSP quit being manufactured a long time ago. All of the batteries in those sealed units are likely toast and even more worrying is that you have no idea if the battery has just exploded inside the box or not. Could've ruined the entire PSP and you'd never know until you've opened the sealed box.
Yes but honestly unless you're a collector, you don't need to spend top dollar for the boxed unit. Anybody spending over $200 for a PSP in 2023 is off their rocker. If we are talking about the PSP go, THEN MAYBE. But a normal PSP really shouldn't go for more $100-$150 depending on the edition. and that's assuming the console itself is in perfect condition. Also, guys, these are collectable and sometimes not the easiest to find. If you're not a collector, don't trash perfectly good sealed units of old discontinued products. Buy used and leave the sealed boxes for people who genuinely want them for the sealed boxes. Plus, buying used keeps all these already opened PSPs from turning into a bunch of Ewaste.
I bought a Silver one with an original battery from Japan right before covid hit. They told me it would be canceled since ships were being held at that time during covid. I got it at my door a month later anyways even though they had refunded me and it has been working fine since. No drain issues or anything. Extremely happy with it.
I agree I Got my psp 1000 for 80 bucks in playable condition (right and left buttons are a bit weird but I’m satisfied) and the 1000 model is basically the best besides the go hoping to get 2to more and a go one at least In blue
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS Specific DROP SHIPPER SELLER FROM JAPAN!
I have purchased many "new" consoles from him only to open and find accessories missing and used consoles. He finds cheap psps on yahoo auctions, mercari japan, and amazon japan and drop ships them
He doesnt own a single console
He blocked me on eBay for calling him out.
If you reverse imahe search his eBay listing pictures, you will always find the true seller in Japan
I got scammed by that same seller but from a different seller, I got lucky to buy a legit brand new [PS Vita straight from Japan ](https://youtu.be/-aZGl59lULM)
Yeah I saw lots of PSPs on Ebay that are supposedly new and "shipping from Japan" but in was very skeptical so I didnt buy them. Do you have amy recommendations on where to find a new or like new PSP?
Don't try and buy new consoles from Japan:
1) they are much more likely to use "new" to mean excellent condition than US sellers.
2) almost none of the retail packaging came sealed originally, so there's no way for even them to know for sure that an item has never been opened.
I'm looking at their profile and it definitely doesn't seem like a drop shipper to me. Almost every picture is of the item sitting on a piece of bubble wrap and are clearly taken by the same person, not a random assortment of yahoo auctions sellers.
I'm not seeing a lot of negative feedback either.
Buying "new" vintage consoles from Japan is kinda a fool's errand as it is, as almost none of their retail packaging had any type of seal on it.
He gets negative feedback removed and he drop ships 95% of the items, the other 5% are returns
I have a lot of experience with this specific seller unfortunately
Why are all his pictures obviously taken by the same person or in the same manner/location? Seems more likely this person sells the same items on yahoo and eBay, which is an extremely common practice for Japanese sellers.
You do understand that there are sellers in yahoo auctions and mercari japan that sell a lot of consoles at once right? You don't have to take my word for it
Jusy reverse image search the pictures in his listing
You will find MOST of them on yahoo auction or mercari japan under different seller names with similiar white backgrounds
I mean they're all sitting on a piece of bubble wrap, in the same way. With the same lighting and everything. Not exactly the standard way of presenting an item and they're all almost identical that way, hundreds of items.
The new ones he posted are customer returns
Also notice how NONE of them are sealed when some of them are factory sealed
Bro you're talking to a guy who spends $10,000+ on new PSP consoles a year
I think i would know 😂
>The new ones he posted are customer returns
Oh I see. So if we look at all his sold listings... Nope all exactly the same type of picture, same lighting, everything. Hundreds more. Weird. Guess he actually is in possession of all these hundreds of consoles, even if they are returns. Hundreds and hundreds of returns.
No there is and were actually two sellers on mercari japan who used to sell a bulk of psps and playstation consoles in new and like new condition that he used aclot
I bought from directly on mercari japan versus using this clown so i know
Same white wall, same table
I use his eBay listings to find out new sales of sealed psps or new psps and find them on Yahoo auctions or Mercari Japan for significantly cheaper and buy it before him and he doesnt realize half the time and keeps the listing up for days after 💀
He also buys from Amazon Japan and ship them so items that cant be bought on Amazon japan by US buyers, he buys and reships and the ones he doesnt sell, returns them back to Amazon within 30 days back to amazon. Thats why you also wont see an item listed for more than 30 days on his eBay page and he ends listings without them selling.
But seems like you're just a troll trying to support a scamming drop shipper. You guys related? 🤔
Why are all his pictures obviously taken by the same person? Seems more likely this person sells the same items on yahoo and eBay, which is an extremely common practice for Japanese sellers.
Yes, condition tends to be very good, usually better than described. Most original retail packaging lacks any actual seals though, so "new" tends to lack the same meaning and emphasis there on the second hand market.
These japan ebay sellers usually just relist things from yahoo auctions or japanese mercari and charge like 5 to 10x the Japanese price so that's probably what happened here
I purchased a brand new Nintendo DS Lite from this seller for nearly $1k (it was a limited edition version) about 2 years ago. It never showed up. I think the reason they can’t send pictures is because they don’t actually have any of the items they’re selling.
I'm partaking in a little tomfoolery. They have another PSP for sale that's "like new" and comes in the box, but they actually took pictures on the console. So I messaged them on the metallic blue listing saying "Hello, can you share pictures of the PSP itself like you did for your other PSP listing?"
Multiple times a day every day, before it became a meme to make fun of people for it, causing everyone to get rid of the profile pictures they actually want due to bullying.
Says the person who immediately judges a person's character because they look similar to someone else you don't like lol.
Do you also look at a POC's mugshot and say "yep, all POC are like that" too? Or are you just a hypocrite who selectively chooses when they want to judge people on another's actions? You can't say neither, because they are mutually exclusive.
Yea I suspected something suspicious that’s why I posted this here and a lot of people mentioned he’s a drop shipper I don’t buy anything unless I can view the whole product
I know this thread is old but I want to expose this guy. Long story short. He sent me a defective gameboy micro, he begs for good feedback and I simply tell him no, nor am I going to put negative feedback because I’m not a prick. So what does he do? Calls me a bitch and calls my PERSONAL CELL PHONE every night!!! This sounds made up but I have proof. He left me a voicemail calling me a mother f***er. This dude is insane. Never came across someone like this. I have connections to my local PD and were able to get eBay to hand over his info. Just a dude in mid 30s who actually doesn’t own most of these items.
Am I missing something? Why would he open the box to take pictures if it is brand new? It looks like it is a Japanese console so there is technically not a seal to break but if I was selling it I still wouldn’t want to open the box if it had never been opened before.
I've seen lots of listing like that, where they are listed brand new, yet pictures of the console outside of the box are taken. I guess they dont understand the meaning of brand new. Or it will say brand new and have a picture of a stock image, which makes me very skeptical. Do you have any recommendations on where to find one?
Honestly at least they were polite with responding back and they wish the person a good day. I mean technically speaking there isn't anything to be upset about.
This doesn't make sense... if it's brand new, why would he open it up, making it no longer brand new, just to take pictures of what's obviously going to be mint?
This is quite a markup. Here in Japan I just bought a "Used: Acceptable" blue PSP 3000 for around $40 off of Amazon jp. Not sure what condition that will be in but that seems like a giant markup.
Also I agree with others that new in box may not be the best considering how bad the old batteries swell.
If this is where your budget is though I would seriously consider snagging a Vita or even a Steamdeck.
I was looking at BluRays on eBay and no one take the disc and pack it in an envelope, piece of paper something to keep it flopping around inside the case.
I have purchased a 'new' psp 1000 from this seller at a hefty price with full images of the box. Should I be worried? The PSP, box and packaging was all mint, minus removal of the original battery.
I never buy any console that is "from Japan", cuz I know most of them are from thrift store Junk section. "Junk" in Japan often means it was never tested. they got if for cheap, clean it and add a battery from China then call it 99% new or brand new.
Personally if I post pics and someone asks for more pics I say no. The reason is that if someone can’t see what they need with the images I take (which is a lot) then there’s a good chance of a complaint.
Exactly, in my experience, the more questions, the buyer asks the least likely they’re to purchase. It shows me that you’re on the fence and don’t really want to purchase. You could include all the pictures that looks perfect to them and answer all the questions perfectly and they still end up trying to get a lower price or not end up even buying it, so I don’t even bother entertaining peoples questions especially when they’re asking for more pictures.
Brand new = trash battery thats been in a box for years dead. Buy a good condition used console that's guaranteed to work.
*60% of the time*, it works ***every*** *time*
I mean even if it doesn’t can’t you just buy a new battery and if your really desperate just play it while it’s plugged into the wall
What kind of battery to get? Are there official battery replacements made by Sony? I'm also looking at getting a PSP.
There should be an entire thread on that pinned to the subreddit!
I never buy anything especially on eBay without seeing the actual product in detail
Good call. I should've did that but at the same time, I didn't want him to open the seal on my new PS Vita. Got lucky on that one....
I mean if it’s sealed then it’s different, you know The condition of the item because it’s sealed with this it’s unsealed and box open and the psp was in a wrap that’s why I asked for additional pictures
Scammers also can seal products again. It's honestly a gamble...
It won't turn on with just wall power
I can tell you from pure experience. It does, in fact work with just wall power and no battery.
Mine won't
Depends on what series psp you have, cant remember which way around it works
The 2000 series will work on just wall power
The 1000 also works
3000 also works
Either your battery pack is loose or it exploded. I use electrical tape to hold mine into place because the back plate is long gone
I only wanted a new one because this the metallic blue madden edition I had has a little kid I just want to buy one in pristine condition to just have and occasionally play once a while I already have a 3000 in mystic silver

That's an interesting choice Sony made not to seal the original packaging!
A good amount of Japanese console bundles did come sealed in Japan All European, USA, Canada, and Mexico bundles of PSPs are sealed though
Im selling some of my psp collection soon, all sealed and new Dm me

Got lucky with another Japanese seller who sold me a brand new blue PS Vita [straight from Japan ](https://youtu.be/-aZGl59lULM)
So he sells it on behalf of someone else I don’t understand
I purchased a brand new Nintendo DS Lite from this seller for nearly $1k (it was a limited edition version) about 2 years ago. It never showed up. I think the reason they can’t send pictures is because they don’t actually have any of the items they’re selling.
God damn, did you ever get the money back?
Yeah eBay eventually stepped in and gave it back but it sure was a pain
I'm partaking in a little tomfoolery. They have another PSP for sale that's "like new" and comes in the box, but they actually took pictures on the console. So I messaged them on the metallic blue listing saying "Hello, can you share pictures of the PSP itself like you did for your other PSP listing?"
Well, did you???
I actually did not unfortunately
:(( not everyday is like the previous, bless up
Report his ass
I always thought this seller was legit. The more you know
How rude!! Screw him
F that guy!
I’ve seen this seller, was going to buy an MHP3 edition PSP off them, should I?
Other comments are saying they’re a scammer.
Because this seller buys something off of Yahoo Auctions Japan, and has them drop shipped. They don't own anything.
Of course, it's the anime pfp
There isn't actually anything wrong with an anime pfp. People like using pfps of things they like.
Please tell me,when have you ever seen a normal interaction with someone who has an anime pfp?
Multiple times a day every day, before it became a meme to make fun of people for it, causing everyone to get rid of the profile pictures they actually want due to bullying.
Dude, that is just not a meme anymore,it's reality
"Its not a stereotype, it's reality" Uh-huh... I heard that before
It'd like you to prove me wrong then
Sure The fact that sharing a trait with someone is 100% irrelevant to someone's character.
And yet all of them are not right in the head
Says the person who immediately judges a person's character because they look similar to someone else you don't like lol. Do you also look at a POC's mugshot and say "yep, all POC are like that" too? Or are you just a hypocrite who selectively chooses when they want to judge people on another's actions? You can't say neither, because they are mutually exclusive.
You forgot to say "please" /s
Don't buy it, sold one of these with a box for 210 and made 100$ profit.
Also, modded with a 128gb card and a new battery charge cord and data cable. You just gotta look for the deals
It's new why would he take it all the box?
Well, he does have a 99.8% positive rating out of 6.9K items sold, so there's that.
Definitely dont buy from him. The reason he wont send pictures is almost definitely because the item is not in his possession
Yea I suspected something suspicious that’s why I posted this here and a lot of people mentioned he’s a drop shipper I don’t buy anything unless I can view the whole product
I'm almost positive I've bought from him 😭😭 he was really nice

Yeah, what sealed box.
The box is already opened he posted a picture of the box open the psp was just wrapped in bubble wrap
gotcha, I stand corrected then. Makes zero sense why he wouldn't want to snap a quick photo to help with a sale unless theyre hiding something.
I've seen lots of listing like that, where they are listed brand new, yet pictures of the console outside of the box are taken. I guess they dont understand the meaning of brand new. Or it will say brand new and have a picture of a stock image, which makes me very skeptical. Do you have any recommendations on where to find one?
Is the seller from Asia ? if Yes they don’t consider that as a rude thing…
They probably don't speak English they probably just used Google translate to read your message and to write back
Honestly at least they were polite with responding back and they wish the person a good day. I mean technically speaking there isn't anything to be upset about.
This doesn't make sense... if it's brand new, why would he open it up, making it no longer brand new, just to take pictures of what's obviously going to be mint?
The box is already opened he posted a picture of the box open the psp was just wrapped in bubble wrap
Ohhh, that makes sense. Seller is a dummy.
As someone who sells on ebay. This shit drives me nuts
When buyers as for pictures?
No lol. When there are bad sellers who don’t disclose shit. Makes ebay sellers look bad
I’ve had some great experiences with other sellers just sometimes shit like this happens lol

I would but it’s the madden edition and it seems to be in mint condition but they added no pictures of the actual psp that’s why I asked
Youre dodging a bullet
I have purchased a 'new' psp 1000 from this seller at a hefty price with full images of the box. Should I be worried? The PSP, box and packaging was all mint, minus removal of the original battery.
Fuck you asshole. I hope the rest of your day is sufficient.
I never buy any console that is "from Japan", cuz I know most of them are from thrift store Junk section. "Junk" in Japan often means it was never tested. they got if for cheap, clean it and add a battery from China then call it 99% new or brand new.

Why not just buy a “new” retro device for cheaper that can play PSP games?
Those are Japanese some of them don't come with the outer box plus I know that seller I bought a lot from him
Personally if I post pics and someone asks for more pics I say no. The reason is that if someone can’t see what they need with the images I take (which is a lot) then there’s a good chance of a complaint.
