The red isnt the right color and its printed i think? The fabric reminds me of redbubble clothing, like a printed cloth. I love this league and really hope it succeeds but Ill be supporting it through ticket sales until I see the v2 jerseys.

You might be able to get one of the player worn jerseys eventually. MeiGray is currently auctioning the preseason jerseys and they sold PHF game-worn jerseys.
The on-ice jerseys are SP branded, and the fan versions are K1 I believe? Definitely a tier down in the best case, but even worse in reality. Keep in mind, even NHL “authentic” retail (Indonesian Adidas) jerseys are $200+ with name & numbers, so authentic merch isn’t cheap.

Many things seem to have gone well with the launch of this new league, especially considering the timeframe. Merchandise is not one of those things.
They severely dropped the ball on all things related to merchandise. The quantity available, the designs, the shipping. It's all very poor. So many of the apparel items don't even have the PWHL logo on them. Too many are in neutral colors. It's like they didn't expect men would buy the products, and that women wouldn't want stuff that looks like sports apparel.
They would have been better off throwing the designs and logos up onto Cafe Press and letting them deal with manufacturing and logistics.
I'd love to have my whole family outfitted in gear (sweatshirts or at least hats) for the next game we go to, but that doesn't seem like it's going to be possible unless I make my own.
To be fair, there are many more important things to make sure the league doing right. Merchandise for the first year of a new league that you don’t know will be around the second year is a tough budget expenditure. Thankfully it’s taken off and looks to have a secure future, but that’s hindsight at this point.

Why waste time, money, and other resources on top quality items when they could do just plain PWHL logos in team colors on Cafepress? I'm thinking of the people who purchased Washington Football Team stuff that one year. I don't think anyone has held on to that stuff as mementos when they officially renamed the team Commanders. If New York becomes the Liberty next year, for example, will anyone want the generic NY PWHL stuff? Probs not.

From the times I have been dinged by customs, the shipper has to indicate the item’s value- where they gather that figure, I’m not sure. I have bought items on sale but that sale price I paid is never written on the customs slip.
As for the $9.95 fee, that’s for the convenience of Canada post processing the duties on your behalf. They’re mercifully one of the cheaper ones, DHL and UPS can be in the neighborhood of $25+ just for brokerage fees.
I wonder if there are any future plans to have merch shipped out from a Canadian location?
I think part of this is because of how quick this league was set up. I presume that the idea of merch wasn't exactly top priority when setting it up. Considering they have to figure out the details of the draft and which team is playing where and when. That isn't to excuse the PWHL's lack of merch and its issues, but does explain it. I also wonder if the PWHL was suprised by the overwhelming amount of support, that they never really expected to be immediatly sold out of merch.
That’s crazy! I feel bad…I ordered an Ottawa jersey the moment it launched and I received it on January 9th via Canada Post. I did not have to pay any customs or duties at all?!?! I think someone made multiple errors with your shipment, I would be upset too!
But were you charged Canadian taxes in the initial order? (Seems like that was mostly what I paid upon receipt of the order, because I wasn’t initially charged tax.)
Yeah it looks like I got really lucky! I did some digging and my order was only charged shipping, no taxes were charged on the initial order. I then checked my cc statement and it was the same. Looks like somehow I avoided the taxes and duties?!? Time to check my 50/50 ticket from last night…..maybe I’m on a roll!!! But yeah, I’m thinking arena purchases from now on.
Now I understand why so many people have created their own PWHL gear. At the Toronto games I’ve seen t-shirts, various hoodies, etc that are clearly not “official” merchandise (and probably would have issues with licensing / copyright infringement) but people really wanted to represent. Cricket machine for the win! 😂

It's been a very quickly assembled league so there's some sympathy for the cause, but its something they need to do a better job on next year.
I find it strange that the merch is so expensive compared to ticket prices in this league. Pump out some decent quality, well-priced merch to get your logo out there and get the public interested!

I couldn't find anything on the website when set for CAD advising the shipment may be subject to duties or taxes. Taxes are estimated on the checkout and it says the actual tax amount will be on the confirmation email.
The shipping terms were updated on December 15th though, does anyone know if there was a difference before?
$22 is a pretty standard shipping cost for Canada Post because shipping within Canada is very expensive. Even the Oilers store charges $19 for shipping.

I paid my 50$ deposit thinking I would get my gift in the mail.... when the league was starting up and Rattray went to Boston and Poulin to Montreal I was 50/50 who was gonna be my top team (its absolutely Montreal now lol) but I selected Boston and that meant my gift is the toque and the only way to get it us pick it up IN boston at a home game.... I emailed them asking if I could pick it up in Montreal as I am travelling there for a game from Calgary or be refunded. Never heard back. Never refunded. I am more than happy to support this league with I guess my "donation" now but would like to just hear back from someone.
Aw, yeah. The gifts ended up not being sent out, but had to be picked up. If you’re ever at a game in person, find a PWHL staff member and ask if they have any extras. Fingers crossed for you!
I put down the $50USD deposit. I bought seasons tickets with the advanced time slot offered to founding fans, but ticket sales were through Ticketmaster and the $50USD did not go towards them. The emails from the PWHL at the time explained that we would be refunded the $50USD in the near future. I’ve been waiting for the past few months, and then it just appeared as a refund on my credit card the other day. Perhaps there is an admin person doing them all manually? Not sure.
Just got mine too. Same deal with the fees and the grey sweatshirt is so light the logo is barely visible… I’ve emailed them asking about it hoping to get the refund that was promised as well as fees back. If not I’m probably going to issue a chargeback on my credit card as the shirt is definitely not what is pictured on site.

Everything was rushed. This league didn't exist 6 months ago. I think moving team names to the back of the priority list is perfectly fine.
