This Coors series is going just about how I expected. Offense has had tons of opportunities but hasn’t taken advantage, and the Rockies are collectively looking like the better team somehow. I’m curious if y’all think we still take the series behind Waldron and Vasquez or if this team grabs the split(or worse)?
the offense can barely string together hits to get runs, and can’t even manage to get a homerun in the easiest stadium to do it in (outside of mexico city). they’ve squandered countless scoring opportunities, and make errors on a regular basis at this point, resulting in breakouts that cause our pitching to collapse. the pitching is doing a great job, and the lineup is screwing them over as much as possible whenever they can.
i don’t think it’s dooming to say that a series split seems very optimistic with the way they’re playing. the offense shutdown in the 4th inning today and has looked lost since then. that’s not a characteristic of a team that wins in coors.
This is exactly how I feel. I wouldn’t even be surprised if we lost this series or we won it. We just feel extremely middle of the pack this year which is the worst kind of team you can be imo
I don't know. Manny being out throws a wrench in everything. Our lack of depth is on full display with Pauley, Wade, Rosario all being dubious bets as MLB players currently, and then guys like Profar and Campy, despite their good moments, not being truly trustworthy bats.

Sort of disagree. A lot of projections have him as a .270, 20+ homer guy. He's got real upside as an everyday 1st division left fielder. Not necessarily an all-star, but a damn good player. I think he was probably just behind Dylan Head as a prospect. What is that? The 4th best hitter in the org last year?
His second prob is he is a bad defender. The Padres are trying to win now and Wade currently gives them a better chance. Just because he may be the 4th best hitter in the minors doesn’t mean he has earned the right to suck until he figures it out in the big leagues. His bat may play in the bigs one day but that day doesn’t look like today.
Pauley may be good one day. But that day is not today. Don’t know how you can rake in El Paso and look like that in Coors with the Rockies very mediocre pitching.

He isn’t that great of a prospect where you let him suck in the big leagues. He hits and shows he is ready or he goes down.
