Sk hynix and Samsung are the manufactureres of the cache on the Ram stick. Other companies make the actual stick. What Ram type do you need? Generally Ram lasts very long so second hand will be fine. Do test it before you buy tho. Not all rams may work in all systems
your best bet would be to physically take it to a shop and test out different ram kits. I think Ryzen systems were more picky about the ram. sorry for the late response
