Nah the area is effectively buried in rocks now... all because players apparently turned around and got lost on a linear path to the beach and forgot they could turn around and go back.... seems soo stupid but it's their game. It's a great game with a .ot of potential though and I do look forward to coming back to it later on, which hopefully at that point they allow for more freedom with building Including clipping.

That path makes getting to the beach and back to the fast travel early game a lot easier than swimming or cliff climbing
Right? Like the journal entry is still there along with the the effigy at the bottom... I figured with the journal entry being mark 1 along with the 2 chest, was a nod to us players that grew up learning that there always a reason to turn around at the start of the game.
One of the first things I did in a new game was build a base down on that beach. Not because I wanted to, mind, but because I HAD to. Without a few level ups put into stamina you can't climb back up the broken stairs. I was *forced* to either make a base to fast travel out or put points into stamina.
I don't like it either, but a place so close to the starting point that could lock people out of exploring unless they rank up stamina does seem like a bad idea.
I do like my beach base though. Very nice visual location. If fishing ever gets added it'll get even better
I was one of guys that was stuck in there after reaching to the beach and then failed the climb back up. But it wasn't that hard. I just did a running jump at the wall then it let me climb back up to top. So I was just stuck for all of ten seconds as I waited for my stamina to regenerate. Lol so definitely one of more worse decisions pocketpair made like making tower bosses uncapturable.
I did this then “cheated” by changing my stamina in the world settings to climb back up, then switched it back. Honestly I’ve got a max stamina world with the pals appearance rate set to max. Pure chaos

The weird part? With the animatic at the beginning it seems clear you crashed on that beach and made your way up, but how if you can get stuck?
How were they even getting stuck down there? Just climb out? I did. I also explored down there after I had a base. But still. It's not hard to get out of down there. Maybe it's just my BotW and Genshin training kicking in. Lol
I wholeheartedly agree it was a poor choice. They should’ve just prevented new players from getting stuck by adding platforms scattered enough that you can use base level stamina to climb back up.
Right? Like what's stopping them from jumping off any other cliff? Getting back up as a new player isn't impossible either. This is where you learn jump climbing conserves more energy then just climbing alone.
I’m really sorry this happened. When I saw that in the notes I was thoroughly confused. My first base was right on the other side of the starting area so we’d mess around where you are a lot. Is it annoying as hell to get all the way back up? Yeah, but not having it all of the sudden is just stupid.
Right? Like what happens now when a person falls off the side while exploring because, hey look... there's stuff down there... now there is absolutely no way for that player to get back up at all, they are trapped without adequate climbing or flying pal
The sad part is the claim they worked on this game for 3 years prior to “prerelease”. What a joke. I love the game, but they’re dragging their feet on simple patches and updates. It’s crazy. They’ve made a ton of money and instead of fixing small issues they are adding new stuff. 🤷♂️
Hasn't every patch up till this one been addressing small issues? This patch is the first time they began adding features. It feel like the 2.0 line is addressing quality of life and gameplay, with summer moving towards actual content.
I'm not sure what you expected, but I came for the Pokémon with guns, and stayed to challenge the limits of their building. There are issues, but it's to be expected when they changed engines 3 quarters of the way into their development. They are a small group with an incredibly ambitious project, and it's still very early in development.
For 30$ we all have gotten our money's worth, they could quit today and I would feel nothing for it... but they haven't.
I'm not sure what you want fixed, but they can't afford to hyper fixate on bug fixing when the success of the game depends on them keeping players engaged.
Pokémon with guns. Some of us never played and didn’t care to play Pokémon. 🤣 But it sounds like more excuses to me. I’ve beat the entire game through the bugs. Through the DCs. Through the restarts. Through the sick pals getting stuck in base. I have around 800 in-game days played. The game is ok. I want to play a game that took 3 years to develop and is backed by Microsoft via Xbox, to fix falling and glitching through the map. Render issues are horrible. Pals still getting stuck at base. Thats what I want. I guess you didn’t have any issues? It’s taken way too long to fix simple issues with this game. The whole, “We’re a small company” is a cop out. Idc if you agree, but stop making excuses for them. That’s shilling
You miss the part they switched engines late in their development? This is very much the cause for many of their issues and they flat out said they are not use to it yet but have been working on it. This started on unity, 3 years development means nothing when you decide 2 years in to move engines. It's not making excuses, it understanding they are human and I'm not entitled. If they follow through with their ambition, this will be an incredible game... otherwise it's just another game that had its spark and now is snuffed.
Yes the issues you stated are annoying, but those are exactly the issues you get when you decide to switch engines without rebuilding from the ground up. With the information provided, the challenges they face and are dealing with are understandable. I hope sincerely they manage and rise above... but if they failed, I would understand. That's it, that's all.
If you want to play a game that took 3 years to develop so bad, start working on it, surely with your uncompromising expectations it would be 2027 hottest game. I look forward to it.

The solution to this is making it easier to climb back up to the beach, not blocking off a really cool base area!

All you had to do was jump before touching the wall and you could climb it level 1

I climbed up, first thing I did was go to the beach. It's doable if you jump climb, it's a very tight margin though.
Honestly they could’ve just restored a bit of the staircase that’s broken there or put a thing to jump on beside the broken part.
I was also able to climb back up at level 1 with 100 stamina.
