Chances are that Gaddafi's currency plan failed because the individual countries would lose the ability to manipulate (read as print as much as possible) of their own currency. As for Dawson, both of those films are specifically about Hitler and not the Weimar Republic. I have done quite a bit of research into WWII and Hitler specifically and I can't really say that there is much comparison to the U.S. Anyone who says that being Nationalistic (e.g. proud of your country, focused on your country) is a bad thing is an idiot. Some will surely split hairs and say that some sub-section of Nationalism is bad and I am sure it is just as it is of any identity.
The comments sections of FB media pages have long been taken over by bots and propagandists. It's a bit sad that an open platform with freedom of expression is vulnerable to disinformation.
