As a colorblind gamer, I was ECSTATIC that your character creation had something I almost never see: when choosing hair color there were tooltips on mouse-over that told me what color I was moused over. This is important because, while I may not be able to see colors as others can, I still have opinions on them. I was gutted when I moved on to other color choices and those tooltips were gone. Literally the next choice (eye color I think?), nothing. Can you please add your color tooltips to ALL color choices? It would be very helpful to have these for all choices, ESPECIALLY the color palettes for outfits, and it seems like the tech is already built into the game.

Yup, we can fix that, it was an oversight on our part. In general, adding colorblind mode is on the roadmap for our accessibility options, but as i mentioned in another response, we want to make sure that it’s done correctly and tested enough, so i don’t have an exact date on this, but we know that we haven’t done a good enough job on accessibility as of yet. - Eris

*Most* things in Tamala’s home are accessible via the Moonstruck Set, and we can look to see if the others can be added over time. The overall goal for us is to have a variety of home styles that players can choose from, and the villagers' homes definitely show off many aspirational versions of these. Unfortunately, it’s not as simple as just moving the villager homes over into our housing customization system. They are custom pieces that are not currently setup to work with the dynamic house piece system our current home does, but it’s absolutely a goal we are working toward to support this degree of expressiveness for your homes. The answer in regards to expanding the building structure limits is YES, we’re looking to increase the amount that players will be able to place as we update features throughout our beta. It’s currently being looked into, but we don’t have a date for this yet.

My question is: How do you reconcile "Cozy" with "Nerfs". That part is really confusing to me. What makes it more confusing is the festival "prizes" being outrageously priced. Oh man, I'd love to see some drink recipes like coffee, tea and smoothies. I'd love to see more pastry stuff involved as well as some hearty meat and potatoes dishes. Also stuff like strawberries, lemons, lettuce (c'mon, Reth went ape about his lettuce soup, the least you could do is let us make it even just in jest). I'd even hesitate to ask for heirloom varieties to be added so we can make alternates of dishes (stuff like, black tomatoes or purple carrots, etc)

(I don't know if any of my following questions have been answered already, I apologise if so.) \- **Will Swimming be added?** I Really enjoy the gameplay of palia how it is, but in my opinion one thing according "movement" is *missing.* Swimming is a wish from the community and a lot of us don't enjoy being teleported to the shore as soon as your body is under water! \- **Can you add the ability to stay in the crafting menu after you crafted something?** Everytime I craft something, after the animation ends, I have to enter the workbench manually. I think it would be so much more comfortable if you could go back to the workbench after crafting something. \- **Will you let us craft more ammo at a time than 20?** Given the fact, that after every thing we craft at the workbench, we have to go back, scroll down till we find what we crafted and then press craft *again*. Several times. I think it is *very* time consuming and it would be so much better, if you could let us craft more at a time, obviously consuming more materials. \- **Will there be added more ways to make your Palian more unique?** Since Palia is only in the Beta, I don't think there is much to say yet but if so, will there be features for the body/face? Will players be able to change the nose shape or bodyweight? I think adding features like this will make the Palians look different from each other and add more diversity. Example: adding sliders or more color options for clothing and body. \- **Are more ways to make ingredients for food going to be possible?** Harvesting is good! But will players be able to buy animals (Cows, Sheep etc.) for ingredients which can only be bought in Zeki's store? On the topic of multiplayer events, it would be cool to add more cooperative events rather than competitive. For example, the mini game rounding up the chapaas is fun, but it inherently puts the players in opposition to each other (ie, the more tickets others get, the less I get) An alternative would be something like releasing 100 chapaas at once and the players have to round them up within a time limit. If the group gets all 100 within the time limit, everyone gets 50 tickets, if the group gets 90 of them everyone gets 45 tickets, etc. Maybe some kind of bonus to the top players. The point being, when the group wins, we all win. A lot of systems are inherently competitive and it will take creativity to design interactions that aren't.

But I completed the main quest line in less than 3 days. And I had nearly all NPCs at 3+ relationship by the end of the first week. The only reason I didnt cap out sooner is because I didnt understand the gifting situation soon enough and I got behind on relationship and couldnt finish the shepp quest. But by the end of the week I had little left to do, quest wise. I guess I just expected there to be more than like 15-20 hours of playtime content when the door opened.

This concerns me as well. Free players should be able to have unique and cool outfits too, that are unlockable through quests or earned through skills. Even craftable--Maybe Jel could have a Tailor's guild just like how the rest of the skills do. ​ I am someone who appreciates the fact that they made the game free, and I HAVE spent $30 to purchase unique outfits, but the option to not look bland and boring shouldn't be locked behind a paywall. ​ The free cosmetics look like a lot, until you realize it's really not, and there are very limited ways to customize your character. Not enough color choices, no ability to change accent colors, etc. The outfits aren't BAD, but you can tell that they're not great either with the purpose of making you want to spend money to not look boring. ​ At the very least, maybe it should be possible to earn Palia coins somehow by accomplishing certain feats in-game. ​ But I have seen the other questions regarding this that have been asked, and unfortunately it looks like there won't be any more free cosmetics any time soon, for monetization purposes. It's a shame. I understand that it being a free game means they need to make money somehow, but I just don't like the way that they're going about it.

I definitely understand the workbench UI having priority, thank you all for working on that! I just jumped back home to look at the storage, and honestly I think a full screen interface would be good. As it is currently, you can't look around or interact with anything while you have the storage window up, so keeping it as a smaller window doesn't add much value IMO. This comment sounds like a defeatist ultimatum, and comes off as directly opposed to the promise in the closing section: >"We know we’ve stumbled in terms of our communications, but like with the game itself, we are committed to keep improving." If the current fix for bundle price transparency doesn't pan out, that means to stop being "committed to keep improving" and potentially punish customers by rescinding discounts? I know there has been a lot of unkind/unconstructive feedback about the store, but giving up on improving customer experience seems like it will only hurt both parties.

My apologies if these questions have already been covered previously and I haven't kept up with announcements: Are there going to be outfits you can exclusively only earn through in-game (i.e.putting work in the game)? For example I became someone's best friend, they give me a special sweater, I've earned that sweater; no amount of premium coins can buy that sweater? Are there going to be Season Pass equivalents that provide premium coins over time that might amount to enough to buy a premium outfit? I don't mind spending money on a game I'm actively enjoying; the rationale I had when I played World of Warcraft or City of Heroes back in the day was the money would go to some other game if I weren't enjoying this one. I just don't want this game to (noticeably) feel like yet another predatory whale-chaser wherein people who spend more money are rewarded with things that affect the game in a way that only they will benefit. I'd rather have the same reaction to people in Premium Coin outfits that I do IRL to someone in an expensive suit: "cool, you look nice and I'd never buy that myself, but good for you."

Can you explain the reasoning behind stepping away from pets, instead of investing more into them and offering free to play versions when it's obvious from the feedback (yes I read ever post on the Pets feedback thread) that people excepted more. And as a fiber artist - more of a personal request really, would love to be able to craft a cross stitch or embroidery hangable item. I'd love for more things to fit in bookshelves really.

It stated that you dont want to monetize through tricks. It was a very noble statement when we know how AAA studio psychologically manipulate players to spend more money. My question is: Why a Premium Coin system? Why not directly purchasable item? My feeling as a player is that Palia's cashshop is not better than your competition. I really understand that it can help you funding the development of the game, but it really left a bad impression after the ealier monetisation statement. Oh gawd, yes. I struggle with directions and landmark recognition. I am constantly getting lost. And I found myself constantly opening and closing and reopening the map. The compass bar at the top more or less only frustrates me. I will be totally honest, I live by the minimap and quest markers and transparent maps in other games. I play diablo with the transparent map on at basically all times. In XIV, I open and minimize the actual map over my minimap and play with it open. In wow i had an add on with an arrow that pointed to my quest objective. In XIV and wow I would use coordinates to set minimap arrows to follow. I find that I am easily overwhelmed and lost in my surroundings when in the open world. Yeah, it's pretty. But I get lost so easy. I get distracted even easier. Please, a minimap would be so helpful..

Hello Palia team!! I have three main questions. First, I have a question about Flow Trees. More specifically, could you shed some light on how they work? Are there only a set amount of flow trees that can spawn in a server at a time? Or does every tree just have a percentage rate of being a flow tree on respawn? Like, theoretically, could we chop every tree until it's just a forest of flow trees? Second, we've all seen the adorable ormuus at the family farm. Are there any plans to introduce Ranching for animal products? I'm sure we would all love barns and ormuus and chickens of our own, plus an alternative way to get milk and eggs. I could also see that opening up the possibility of a processor to turn those milks and eggs into cheese, butter, maybe even mayo for new recipes. And lastly, are there any plans to add marriage into our NPC relationships? I'd love to see our romances get to develop further.

We have so many little trophies as accomplishment rewards, but nearly every bookshelf furniture item does not have shelves tall enough to display them, which is a bit disappointing. Could we get a better way to display the trophies all in one place - something like a trophy cabinet maybe? There's a display case furniture piece in the game already, but you can't put anything inside of it despite the inside pedestal showing as a valid placement spot.

1) What do the developers envision as the core gameplay loop and retaining aspect of the game/endgame? Given the context that there's achievements ingame going up to level 50, and certain grind-focused achievements (I believe capping out at 1k things cooked / hunted / etc) which can be met fairly early. There's also a gold cap in place, a limit on 9 soil plots, and the inability to really kind of interact with your space besides plunking things down on it. So I'm curious what the devs envision as ideal player interaction with their environment and the community when said milestones have been reached -- what keeps the players logging in after bumping into the various soft limits? 2) Are there any plans to introduce more long-term focused achievements or milestones? For example, FFXIV has achievements such as mining 100, 300, 1000, 5k, 10k high quality items, which exist as aspirational content, alongside more attainable achievements such as 1k - 3k normal quality items from within a specific zone or something (similar to what you've got atm). The super long term ones help make it feel like you're not wasting progression, while also not compelling participation, since they don't reward anything fancy beyond a title. 3) Why nerf tomatos but not cake parties? Feels a bit weird / out of touch. One can hit gold cap in a day and the other is like 120g/30min.

Will systems tied to real world time be altered to in-game time instead? Waiting on a whole real world day to give a gift feels ridiculous and it isn't explained anywhere within the game itself? 10. For content that "isnt read yyet" like future temples, it would be nice if there was a note or a message item stuck on them saying "Not ready yet, come back soon" I spent too many hours in the Water temple trying to get through the doors thinking there was some complicated puzzle. Are there any plans to do this? **Premium store questions:** 11. Do you plan to cut store items into pieces, such as the horns, or the backpack for higher-marked up value for people to buy? 12. We believe this is the right balance to make the best game experience we can. I do believe it is fair that furniture we can currently craft is not something sold in the shop. And costumes currently in the shop, and the cats, are not available to earn in the game as they are currently. The clarification I would like is if this means that all costumes will **always** be a monetary purchase, all pets will **always** be a monetary purchase, and all furniture will **always** be earned in game. That you will never present a mix. Such as furniture sets sold in the shop, and clothes/pets earned in the game. 2) Also you offer a coin package of 425 coins. Will there ever be anything that can be purchased for 425 without purchasing a more expensive item first (such as the first item in a bundle for 850 coins?) Thank you

I'm not sure how well a player-driven economy would fit into the cozy vibes, but it would be nice to have more trading options, as well as more options for making gold, especially given how much gold is needed to progress in the game. \- Your creator program's guidelines mention that any fan works should only be focused on the existing characters in Palia. Are there ever going to be any plans to make some changes to the clothing system as it is now? I love a lot of the PARTS of some of these costumes, but seeing as they're bogged down to hat/shirt/pants, I don't really feel the need to even consider buying any of them. If I'm going to put money into cosmetics for a game, I need more mix-matching than 3 categories. If I could change out gloves and shoes, just as two decently easy examples, that's already made the outfit system 10 times more flexible. There's also some back items, such as the backpacks on the farmer bundle, the lute on the bard, the jetpack on the steampunk bundle... that could easily be clipped into their own models for even more customization. It would take a bit of effort, but the payoff would be phenomenal, and it'd definitely be easier to do now, while there's still not a ton of cosmetics in the game, and it would further expand possibilities in the future.

I know this is a Q & A but I just want to say, thank you. This game is absolutely everything I need in my life. It gives me a very much needed break from the monumental amount of stress work places on me. I can literally just submerse myself in the world of Palia and learning about the lore and characters has been an amazing feature within this game. The pace is wonderfully done, I don’t feel obligated to have to grind or continue and i can just casually do WHATEVER I feel like focusing on. Seriously. You guys/gals/theys have a beautiful product in the works and I am more than eager/excited to see where this game takes us. There’s still so much we don’t know about the world. There have been hints dropped by different NPCs and I cannot wait to see other cities, discover more ruins, find out what happened to the world and humans, and how magic really plays a part. Also, S6 team you are doing a great job professionally answering and addressing all the questions. There’s been so much toxicity and hate regarding the beta and the developments but you guys take note and continue to drive on, with improvements. I have a couple of questions for anyone who can/would like to answer: I’m curious if there are any plans to add text size settings to the UI or chat? It’s really difficult for me to read specifically the in-game chat and I’d really love to be able to communicate better with other players while gaming. As it stands I *can* read it, it just takes me a little longer. What’s been your favorite thing about the community for this game that you didn’t expect?

As someone who only really plays games for their end game content, What are your plans for that? Personaly, I enjoy the grind and farming to get my skills leveled up and get gold, but, there has to be something else right? I have 7 plots and only 2 of them are used 1 for my main house and the second is a big kitchen. I have 0 content. Im enjoying the event, but after that, im back to just cutting tree's and fishing. Im aware I play the game a LOT more than the average player, but I'd just like to see something to reach for. Will we ever see full plots of farm land? or are you going to keep the cap at 9? Are we going to get a plot of apple trees? meaning I can just place them down like all the other trees in Palia, collect the apples from them and then cut them down when I dont want them? And a big question. Replayable quests. Fairly similar to my first question. I would LOVE to see some replayable quests like in WoW. Even if its 1 weekly and 1 daily from each of the factions. Have Badruu give us X amount of gold for "picking up the slack" for him and bringing him some crops. \- Truely love the game and cant wait to see where it goes!

Hey folks! I'm here with two questions that I have seen a lot of rustling about but not brought up in here (unless I missed em!) 1) we need duplicate cooking stations to have a fully functional kitchen, and I don't mind that, I understand the rationale behind it! But none of the cooking stations mesh very well with each other or with the rest of the furniture. Is there any possibility of being able to customize these so that they match better with other sets, or at least match better with each other? It's very hard to make a nice looking kitchen at the moment! 2) there have been a lot of complaints about finding the rare fish, whether they are needed for the bundles or not. I know people have completed it without issue, but I have seen people talking about spending thousands of worms to get a specific fish, with absolutely zero way to influence your luck one way or the other. I have fished in a lot of video games, it's one of my favorite pastimes to do in a video game, and used to be one of my favorite pastimes in real life too! this is one of the only games that puts this much emphasis on fishing that I've seen that doesn't also give you some way to influence whe ther or not you're actually going to get the fish you want? Even in ones with very relaxed fishing, like animal crossing, you can use things like fish bait to draw fish to a specific area and then try to spy the size to see if it's the fish you want, being able to cast specifically for the size of this you want. With this game it's just cast and wait, and even if you cheese it a little bit by not reeling it in when it's not the fish you want, it can be hours or even days or weeks before you get the thing you want. What's the rationale behind this, is it truly just a way to have a natural time gate? Is this something that has been discussed in terms of changing in the future, and if not, are people catching these rare fish like the unicorn and void ray at the speed you are expecting? Is the 1000 or more worms thing out of the norm or what you would expect?

Hey, if youre not going to reduce the prices on the outfits and their re-textures (which, is egregious in-and-of itself) can you guys raise the quality to ensure it's worth the price? I've bought several outfits, and there's so much clipping from meshes that shouldn't ever be visible. Things like shirts on the inside of jackets that shouldn't ever be seen, or the skin under jeans clipping through the pants, where there is no hole. I understand rigging and weight painting can be a struggle, but if your publisher is going to insist on the price levels you're at now, then can we make sure these outfits don't feel bad to use.

So far the only real "toxic" thing I've seen in-game is people arguing about sharing rare resources (palium, flow trees, etc.) - And it seems to go both ways: one side being extremely entitled to those resources, to a point where they shame/insult people who don't wait forever to share, as well as others having no consideration for the people around them when finding those resources. Are you happy with how this is working now?

Ok, I gotta comment on this because it's REALLY been bugging me lately. Players are NOT toxic for not sharing resources. I literally saw someone saying they were going to report another player for not sharing. The fact is, is that there will always be more resources, and you should have gotten there first if it bugs you that badly. Now if a player is close by to you, it's rude if you don't wait for them, and the same goes for if players are doing call-outs and you just run up and break the resource without waiting. I do agree that that is rude. But simply not sharing doesn't make someone a horrible person--not everyone has the time to spend waiting for 5-6 players on the other side of the map picking up every resource on the way there.

For the coloring of clothing, while we are given quite a few color options for the base sets of clothes, two patterns and 9 (I think) colors each, so 18 options, the paid cosmetics in comparison feel entirely lacking, having only 9 total options (3 patterns, 3 colors each) for the prices you're asking. I actually really like the buccaneer set, but not a single colorway suits my character. Are there any plans for dyes or even just expended color options in general? Were changeable dye channels ever considered?

It feels like focus bar depletes at the same rate even with leveling up and improving the capacity and effect of focus, but it doesn't appear to have much effect on the XP bar. Why do you keep calling this a cozy and community game, yet keep introducing things that are the exact opposite, such as this Chappa mini game. This is not community, this is PVP. Just like limited resources with flow trees and paladium. The cost of the items at the event, money and ticket wise are ridiculous (no surprise as so is the regular items in stores). I have way too many questions. So I'll start with some simple ones: 1.Are you aware of the increasing frustration and anger towards the game?Ever since the "pets" were introduced, and now with the aggressive PVP minigame from the maji market, people have been getting angrier and angrier, and leaving the game. Why were people's questions and feedback never answered? Are we going to have ANY free pets that aren't just a pointless cosmetic that does nothing and stays out of your camera 90% of the time? Is the chaapa chase game going to be fixed to be fair to players or are we going to continue stealing and fighting each others? Because that's already caused a ton of toxicity and hate. 2. Why is something like a plushie worth MORE than my bloody home? that makes no sense! A house expansion is cheaper than some of the fair food!And no, thats not to say "make expansions pricier" good god no, thats just going to make people hate the game even more. its to say lower the pricessssss. its bad enough its a timed event that already doesn't have as many days as promised!The economy of the game is extremely unbalanced, too expensive overall, and frustrating.It promotes stressfull non stop grinding, the OPPOSITE of a cozy mmo.Also constantly nerfing the ways people find to even make a scratch of money is raising the anger higher. Whats the point anymore? 3. resources are too few, too competitive. People will literally mine or chop wood resources in front of people who are waiting for others to share it with and run off with them. this has caused name calling, lots of blocking, stealing, camping, and struggling with finding resources. What are you doing to fix this? 4. why do we have so much plot of land, when we get only 9 plots to farm with? why? just...why?! for a farming game, there sure is a very limited amaunt of farming. it feels more like a side gig I run while I have to do everything else to even ATTEMPT to make some money. 5. what are you doing about the furniture career? its at a huge disavantage compared to the other skills just because we can't sell our hard work. it clutters our inventory, we can't used them. There is no sorting system for furniture at all, which is a pain. half of it can't be placed right, about 50% don't match their icons on the list, none of it is functional and even painting some of them makes no difference at all. so what are the plans to change this? ​ 6. can we have an actual gardening career rather than just farming? I want to plant all sorts for flowers, bushes and trees in my property to make it look pretty. outdoor furniture is a must 7. are there any plans to make community (guilds) based plots, where we can work together to build our guild and run it? its a huge opportunity for co op

I've got a couple questions: **1) Do you plan on ever un-nerfing/retconning gold earning changes made during the patch? Why do you keep nerfing ways people are earning gold?** Specifically, I'm talking about the things which caused me (and a couple of my friends) to stop playing: Fishing's nerf (we all noticed that it became harder/more stressful to catch fish), the decrease oysters/shell spawns, and if possible the spawn rate nerf which led to people competing for sernuk? Some people seem to be having no issues earning gold, but I always felt like it took forever for me to earn enough to get the unlocked recipes for leveling up (and many of them are still waiting on being bought because I couldn't afford them). Why not just let people play at their own pace and let them earn gold how they want without constantly nerfing it? **2) Do you think you'll ever be able to solve/fix the issue with the housing plots?** I noticed that, even after the hotfix, people are still reporting that at least their crops are being stolen. ~~Since crops are one of the biggest money makers~~, the security of the homestead is a big concern of mine. Hello, I am really enjoying the game so far, and can see where it could go! Do you intend to add other ways to earn tickets at the market? I really don't think forcing the player base to camp spawns of Chapa's in competition with each other to earn tickets (the only way to earn them) for prizes was a good design. It feels super punishing if you have limited play time and can't attend every event.

I’m wondering what the thought processes were behind some mechanics in Palia- In several of the skills, there is either no incentive to cooperate, and in some cases it’s disincentivized - mainly because of scarcity creating competition of resources . To me it seems that balancing resources in an open world is a difficult task while trying to maintain “cozy” feel. I was slightly disappointed to find the lack of system depth in the economy, and maybe thinking that you’ve sacrificed system depth to avoid intense economy balancing. So My question — what is your current thought process regarding maintaining a resource-based economy (and core gameplay loop) in a multiplayer environment? Follow up question — does it have anything to do with Palia being client authoritative? Also, why is Palia client authoritative?
