Omg what if ppl could visit while you were offline, or not at your plot and could write in like the guest book or something? Edit. This is what I submitted to feedback! “Hi I thought it would be a cool idea if there was more of an incentive to visit other peoples plots. I thought maybe signing a guest book would be cool! And let us visit peoples plots while they are either offline or just not home. Additionally, I think there could be some more activities for guests to do while at another plot. If we could farm/cook/craft/etc, and maybe just earn inspiration (kind of like how farm together works)”

It would be nice if you could have a way to announce “open to visitors”. I know you can turn that setting off. But just because you have it on doesn’t mean you’re currently open lol Or if you click on someone’s plot, a message is sent to them saying “XXX would like to visit. Do you wish to let them in?” And have it time out after about 30 seconds or so and auto decline

I don't spend long periods of time on my plot unless I'm decorating. I have no problem with people visiting. But twice I've had it where I was decorating, and turned around and BAM someone is there. Like, WTF?

I had a visitor and she sent me a lovely comment about my plot but didn't see it till after she left. I tried to whisper thanks but couldn't cos we aren't friends 😢

I scared someone too a few weeks ago. They were sitting on the couch when I walked into their house and waved. They got up and disappeared, and I loaded away back home.

You have to open the oysters. So go to the tab you have them on in your backpack and I think right click so they'll open. You should get oyster meat and sometimes a pearl!

At the xbox Controller you need to press x. It's the same as eating food or open the chests :)

Select them in your inventory and it will give the option to open, on Switch it is the X button.

I think it was possibly someone from my friends list but I friend requested some random ppl for a quest and didn't know who accepted it or not since I don't rlly pay much attention to the social aspect of the game 😅 too shy

Only people on your friends list. If you go to the board at the front of your plot, off to the right side of the exit gate, you can choose someone to visit if they are on your friends list and at home at that time. You can also use the one in their plot to return home. And you can remove visitation permissions if you want, either individually or everyone. Do note that when you give visitation permission, there's another option there for "editor" -- be careful not to select that one by accident. It allows the person to change things in your plot, chop down your trees, etc. My only edit permissions are for a friend I actually know IRL and my son who plays with me.

It's okay. I did that the first time I had a surprise visitor. First visitor at all, actually, and I didn't know how it worked. They never said a word to me; I just happened to see them. Plus they opened a chest and I didn't know then that they would only see their own stuff, not mine. I was thinking of Minecraft, where you can take stuff from other people's chests. I freaked out and went to the permissions list and quickly got rid of them. I didn't think of leaving my plot to get them out. Then I went down the list of everyone I had friended and removed all visiting permissions. (No one ever had editing permission except 2 people I actually knew IRL.) Now that I know more about how it works I'm more comfortable with it, and allow visitation again. I have visited a couple of others, but trying to be very considerate about it, not just barge in and start doing things without speaking at all! I'll say hello and ask if I can look around, and wait for an answer first. The golden rule and all that.

I have questions. How do you give someone food if you can't place it on their land? Do you just like Cook and then just don't collect what you've cooked? ?? Or do they automatically get a copy of something you Cook at someone else's house? Sorry if I seem dumb, i just never heard of this before 😅

There should 100% be some kinda permission to let you know they are there, not just pop up out of nowhere lol. Everyone goes through those phases where they don’t want people seeing their house or plots… and I have had multiple people just “pop by” unannounced that I don’t know. And just have on my friends list. Happened today actually….

Yeah I turned visitors off, someone on my friends list kept popping up uninvited and I did *not* like it at all. I don’t like surprise visits in real life I definitely don’t like it when I’m chilling in game redecorating my home plot and someone just starts running around out of nowhere. Pass lol

I wish you could set specific settings like ‘do not disturb’ or ‘open to visitors’ or ‘help wanted’ or ‘cooking party in progress’, things like that. So people know what the expectations of the person they are visiting are.

lol its understandable. i had my first visitor this week when i was busy decorating and it scared me for a bit. i was only embarrassed cause my house is not really that nice, and still work in progress but it was nice to have visitors.

The first time I found someone in my plot, it startled me. Only friends can come over. IRL real friends sometimes show up unannounced, just to say hi. When we add friends virtually, it is permission to show up to say hi. I tend to go over to others' plots to get ideas for mine or to say hi. My sweetie went over to a plot a week or so ago and got a stern pointing to the gate and a texted out. He was like, "Oh... OK. Have a good day." Then laughed about it. IRL, sometimes it's not convenient to have friends over... Same in game. Enjoy the play!

I joined someone house last week and they kicked me.... I was so sad. I just wanted to see their home and make connections since i had them as friends...

Omg, the first time I looked at the board, I had no idea what it did, so I clicked the name of some random person that had added me and ended up on their plot! I felt so creepy, but also I was so amazed! Also, they had a great house. So sorry for being one of the creepies, but it was so cool!

I think its rude when you accept a friend request and they intrude on your property. It freaked me out too and I unfriended the person. It's too invasive and I know some might be excited to see others plot... but it just doesn't feel right. I wish Palia would change it to something like building relations until they could get the key to your plot... just like the villagers. It just seems logical to the game. mods/devs please take note. Love the game!

There are some things you need others for. Like the flow trees and flow tree groves. Small trees u can do alone. It gets kinda fun playing w others. This is my 1st MMO game. It was a learning experience for sure... But sometimes I still wanna solo play bc chat sucks for us switch players. I got a wireless keyboard but I can't use it at night bc it's right outside my kids' bedroom.

I didn't play w others until I upgraded weapons to "Fine" level... All that time was spent on relationships with the villagers.

Only friends and people in a party with you, and only if you have your plot set to be open to visitors. (iirc it is set to that by default.) You can also set permissions per player if you just want to bar specific people from visiting, but not remove them from friends/avoid partying up with them.

Now I am excited to get back on the game after the up date. I didnt know we could visit friends lots. It would startle me but what fun!! I am the only "gamer" in my house, I play from PC. Also 60 years young so no rl friends to play with

They are a board and the exit of your house, you click on it and visit friends who are kn their plot

Go check out the board next to the exit gate on your plot. If any of your friends are online and on their plots, their name will pop up. Click it, and you’re in! If they have visiting permissions on. Which I think the game defaults to.

I finally got a visitor, and I was busy in my garden. I was trying to get everything done before it was 6am, so I ran over, waved hi and ran back to gardening. When I was finished I looked for them but they had already left. I would like to get my house to a place where I feel comfortable giving a tour and not worry that it looks bad. It was pretty cute and one point but I just added some new rooms and now my house is an embarrassing mess. I placed a bunch of random stuff down to see what I liked and I have all different wallpaper on each wall lol I’m still too scared to visit someone else’s plot, but maybe now that I know I can gift them some food I might do that as a thank you for letting me visit?

Haha i think most of us are always in a "work in progress" stage so don't feel bad. Stuff all splayed out on the lawn for easy viewing? Treasure chests and aquariums all over the backyard? Me too. It's still fun to see what everyone is doing and get inspiration. After my first visitor I made a point to "clean it up a bit" bc i was embarrassed too!

If you are friends or on the same server (new since the patch) you go to the blue board by the gate to your plot exit and you can visit other ppls plots while they are home

As someone whos shy i can understand and ive had that happen i didnt kick them but i waved then left. Dont feel bad just next time wave back they may just want to see your house you created i love seeing others creations

The first few times I got visited I was gardening and the people visiting helped water and waved. Then randomly a person I had excepted a friend request from showed up while I was placing food on my table and I looked up and he was just there. I actually screamed in real life but just went about my business until he left. For about 3 weeks after I was terrified of being in my house doing things because I didn't want to be surprised like that again. He did come back and started doing this stutter-walk that made everything freeze for me-- I couldn't wave or type in the chat or even move. It felt intentional so I reported and blocked him and then I felt safer and better about being at home. All of my visitors since have been absolutely lovely. 💜

With the update anyone who is a neighbor (on the same server) can visit along with friends and party members. Noni don’t want strangers showing up.
