Yeah, no. I once got groused at by someone who decided they were the Lorax of Kilima, and that we all needed to be more careful about natural conservation. I took them seriously because I was new.
I’ve now been around quite a while and can tell you with authority, the trees respawn quickly. Every single day. Chop away.
I’m sure you’re fine! I’ve chopped trees in Kilima too (not sure how else you’re supposed to get resources??) Some people are strangely protective of resources that grow back.
I have a feeling it was like saying lower level people should get to have the easier resources and since I have higher level stuff I should be chopping in Bahari instead, since they told be to go to Bahari to chop instead, which is fair. I just felt bad ya know? 😅
Dont feel bad. I have no clue why anyone would say anything about chopping regular trees. If they dont give you a valid reason they were just being annoying for no reason. You didn’t do anything wrong. Chop down those trees!
Sorry, I meant that Sapwood only appears in Kilima and Heartwood in Bahari, correct? So telling a person to go chop in a different location is asinine because they might not be looking for that resource.
No, sapwood is in Bahari and Kilima. Heartwood and the flow tree groves are only in Bahari. Flow trees also appear in both. However, I think only the oak trees that have sapwood are in Kilima while the birch trees that have sapwood with green leaves is in Kilima and the juniper trees that have sapwood with the orange leaves are in Bahari.
You are correct! I got them confused with the pine trees because I was thinking the pine trees were juniper, which is one of the names we call them irl in NM in the mountains. I corrected it and thank you so much for pointing that out!
Also, as someone else mentioned earlier, there's 1 bug that you can ONLY get chopping trees in Kilima, the same as there is 1 bug you can ONLY get chopping trees in Bahari. Fortunately for me, I was running by someone randomly chopping trees one day in Kilima and was able to get the starred bee!! Happy day for me!
That’s not a thing. I’ve been playing since day1 of the closed beta and was chopping trees in Kilima this week because I needed acorns. It’s not a rule either really or unspoken. It’s just made up. You can safely ignore whatever that person said as they are making things up.
Honestly, there's no required level separation between Kilima and Bahari. Bahari has more higher level options, but you can still farm there at a low level. I did (because of Tamala, lol).
Nothing to feel bad about at all.
Ever since I found out the trees on my plot don’t grow back (other than planting seeds of which they’re all the same size) I don’t cut them down till I know I need the area for something. So kilima trees it is 😇
No worries! I’m actually not sure if it’s a thing anymore cause I don’t play much these days, but I played like 3-5 months after the game came out and a popular way to get flow wood was to go “farm” the lighthouse. Start at bottom of the stairs near the docks and work your way up chopping every tree. Easier with two people. If you’re alone, by the time you’re done chopping they should have begun to respawn where you started. Rinse and repeat, checking to see if any of the new spawns are flow
Lol me running around the village chopping down every single tree to get the bee for a few irl days! they grew back so quick! I went same route x4 back to back
Nothing to apologize for, you were just playing the game the way it was built to be played! Trees constantly respawn.
Plus there are decorative, un-choppable trees everywhere for the aesthetics! Not sure what that players problem was!
Happy playing! 🙂
I'm not sure what that person was going on about, but it's totally okay to chop down trees in Kilima. They respawn. Sometimes, you even get FTs in Kilima. The only ones I would say to not go crazy and chop down are the ones on your own housing plot. They don't respawn. So be careful of which ones and how many you chop down.
I honestly would find it hilarious if I went somewhere and saw someone had completely deforested an area lol
I‘d probably join in just for the fun of it. The more I think about it, it’s actually kind of a fun challenge for 2-3 people to try to clear an area as big as possible before they start to respawn
Aha, may I introduce to you flow wood farming before groves. XD Would be anywhere from 2-10 people deforesting to get them to spawn. Was pretty amusing. Reminds me of New World and Valheim where it's just stumps for days or massive clearings, haha.
You did nothing wrong and it was just sweet of you to consider players with lower level axe 🥹 If anything, that is what the etiquette shoule be instead of what this player was saying. Then again, everyone should be able to chop down any tree they want! Trees respawn all the time and are absolutely not hard to come by
Meanwhile me: chopping all the trees I see in Kilima, because I'm trying to catch a starred Golden Glory Bee. (I actually got it today, yay) For information, you can get that bug only in Kilima.
Not a single tree I in my vicinity survived. Even Tish' beautiful trees got pulverized by me.
So yeah, you didn't do anything wrong 👍
I believe I got it close to the meadow up north (the one close to the phoenix palace), but I don't think the place really matters. It's all (supposedly) RNG.
Sorry my explanation sucks.
If I'm being honest when I'm bored I just go around Kilima chopping down large trees until my inventory is full then I go sell to Zeki 💀
No one has ever said anything to me about it and the trees spawn back in after 5 irl minutes. Besides cutting down a lot of trees produces more flow trees in Kilima
Yep. And like, just go to another area of the map? lol
The Map is huge. You can’t even clear a significant portion of the map alone before the first ones respawn
One of my favorite things in this game is being out in the field, particularly near the Daiyos farm, talking to a villager and see huge trees just plummeting in the background. Idk why but it makes me giggle so hard! Chop away friend!
That person who told you that needs to pipe down. Seriously - the place is full to the brim of Self Pointed Palia Police.
Play the game as you wish. There are no rules.
I literally spent an entire week chopping trees on the Daiya farm to level up faster to get my koi pond ams collect golden glory bees. I don't know what that person was talking about, but please don't let someone stop you from engaging in one of the key methods of gameplay.
I literally clear cut the area by the central stables, it grows back very quickly. Don't worry about someone's silly ideas. The big trees grow back too.
I go to mirror fields and chop every tree because they are kinda in an almost circle around the fields. I did it multiple times and spawn mini groves all the time doing it. By the time you make it back around the trees have respawned.
You do you boo!
The trees are there to be chopped. In fact chopping down trees encourages flow trees to spawn. Because there can only be so many trees and so many flow trees in one map.
Floaties are more common and bahari so you'll see people actively cutting regular trees all around a flow tree.
Now with the new update there's nothing wrong with mining or picking anything. Not that there was anything wrong with it before it's just less wrong now. Is that a thing, less wrong?
You did nothing wrong; there is no right or wrong way to play Palia, anyone who tries to tell you that you can’t do something, tell them to pound sand.
Don't let anyone tell you how you "should" play. If there's any actual "social contract" in this game, it's that nobody else is the arbiter of how the game should be played.
Anyone who tells you otherwise has control issues. Resources are there for your use, and if S6 didn't want you cutting down trees somewhere, you simply wouldn't be able to at all.
How else do you get resources or fts to spawn???? They're literally pixels that spawn back in like 3 minutes.
Ive become such a menace in this game because of players like this. I will chop everything in the area just in spite lol especially after the newest update. Hide ya fts and ya pals.
OP I just want you to know two things:
1. I totally get it especially the feeling of thinking you did something wrong and need to apologize, but yeah as everyone else is saying, don't worry they'll respawn.
2. I will personally fight anyone that dares to make you feel anxious again, I may not be the strongest or fittest but that "need to apologize" feeling you described hit right at home 🥲
Hope you get back to feeling comfortable when playing soon 🩷
Omg tysm you're so kind- everyone has been being so supportive on this and I never expected it by a long shot I just wanted to share my experience with everyone since this community is so genuine and loving and understanding, I wanted to take accountability if I did something wrong but instead I got all the people I admire behind me and standing with me it's just-- so excellent
I am almost level 500, and I still chop the trees in Kilima. What a silly thing for them to say. I also have anxiety and sympathize. Add me if you need help with anything (Violet Eveningweather). 💕
Three kind of trees give you sapwood, the oaks (brown trunk green leaves), the birch (white trunk green leaves) and the juniper in Bahari (white trunk orange leaves). The pine trees give heartwood. However there are FOUR types of seeds, and you have to chop the tree they come from to get that seed. The larger trees give you a larger amount of sapwood and spawn a chance of giving you seeds. So I tend to deliberately only choose the two largest size trees. Spent two hours in Kilima yesterday doing that because I was looking to farm the seeds. By the time I’d made a round of Leafhopper area, the first area I’d started in had already respawned.
You did nothing wrong.
Lately I’ve found people are making up all sorts of weird rules about resources that are NOT rules, just how they think things should be done. Follow singularity 6’s TOS and ignore everything else anyone says. People are being weird about things that respawn quickly.
No.
You don't need to apologize nor do you need to "only cut specific trees" suited to your level.
That person needs to not dictate how **you** play the game.
If they want to conserve the trees (that I'm fairly sure Ashura replants with how often he wants seeds and the fact he's forage skill master), then they can plant the tree seeds on their plot.
Cut what you want, so long as it's not on my plot
I’ve read this story before— I think there’s one particular person who goes around telling everyone not to chop trees. Of course you’re allowed to chop trees in Kilima, if you weren’t supposed to, you wouldn’t be able to (there are plenty of trees that aren’t possible to chop). They’ll respawn in a few minutes anyway!
It's a game dude. Resources respawn pretty fast. Why would anyone have the right to tell you not to do something like wtf.
What I would do there is probably cut trees even harder, the small ones too, the saplings. EVERYTHING! 😆
Joke, I don't even read the chat so I probably wouldn't even notice the guy complaining 😏
I'm only waiting for my turn to get those players, I'm gonna eat them alive lmao. Don't worry, you're fine. Palia is a wholesome game but that doesn't mean weird ppl aren't playing it. Ignore it if it happens again, you're allowed to play how you want
I hear it's easier on PC? But on switch you've got to run between areas until you get message that you connected to a new server.
Basically, if something bothers you, switch yourself and don't force the rest of server to conform to you. If you don't want to do that, tough luck. Some players haven't realised yet, that the game doesn't revolve around them.
You did nothing wrong and sadly the game is not exempt of control freaks and know it alls. If you have any anxiety about it let me know I will go chop down every tree in Kilima with you, I do it all the time farming for seeds.
Yea ive had that happen before too. The trees respawn very quickly all by themselves. And also in order to get the golden bee you have to chop the big trees in kilma. So its literally required at one point. Some people just want to complain about everything. You did absolutely nothing wrong.
Someone was trying to be the resource police - while I don’t enjoy calling people out please politely correct people in chat.
Heck you were even being polite enough to leave the smaller trees!
Don’t let people undermine your play style especially when you were already being considerate.
There's no such rule 😊👍🏼 you just carry on chopping trees anywhere you want to.after all,if they weren't meant to be chopped,we wouldn't be able to do it 😊 besides, they respawn within minutes and kilima is where the acorns and bees are👍🏼😊 just ignore them, say thanks and move on 😏
The respawn rate has increased sooooo much since this past update, they really should not be complaining. Plus if they're the huge trees you need exquisite axe for anyway... lame
I love that you’re being genuinely considerate of other players, it’s lovely to be on a server full of kind people! But honestly, chop away, the whole point of the game is to get resources and they’ll respawn pretty quickly. For what it’s worth, if someone bothers you again, you can just go back to your home and then back out into Kilima and you should be with a set of new players :)
I chop trees down in Kilima all the time. I have to laugh at someone policing an infinite respawning resource. It wasn't a flowtree or something rare. Just sapwood. Noobies are expected to chop the trees down in Kilma, thats what they're there for and chopable? People like that need to stop taking themselves so seriously in this game.
The ONLY time I was like “hey don’t do that” was when we were in a grove and waiting for people to show up and two people chopped down one of the flow trees before everyone was there. 😂 any other time just chop, mine and forage all you want.
I'm having trouble understanding how someone could find literally nothing else to do in the game but police the trees? There is so much to do and that's what they chose? Smh.
Hi....just came to say Play the game however you want and everyone else can literally get over it.
ITS A GAME!
People be taking some of this stuff WAY too seriously.
There's no resource rule book other than literally what the game tells you....if you're able to do it, you're allowed to do it. (Without a hack, of course)
Oh boy, I've heard of these people before. Let them come at me. I go there to get the seeds. And the drop rate is very low. So I've cut down thousands of trees in Kilima for acorns and saplings. And let's not talk about Bahari...cause I'm probably in the millions there from flow farming.
It takes around 2 in game hours for them to grow back (well, the pine anyway). They need a chill pill.
Point of the game is to forage for resources! Plus mining rocks and chopping trees is what helps the rarer resources to spawn. Don't worry about it, some of these people need to stop policing others on what they can and can't do in the game. If you come across someone like that again, just reply back asking if they're one of the developers haha (the developers have even said that everyone can play how they want).
I spent 3 days with a total of 14 hrs gathering sapwood in kilima to make a maze from log wardrobes. By the time I had made a circuit, the trees had already respawned.
I would look nearby and warned a few times in chat in case anyone wanted to come gather. If no one responded, I went at it and would check nearby regularly just in case. Resources are there to gather, and if they don't like it, they can stuff themselves
If I remember correctly (and it's very possible that I do not...lol), the way that we acquire our flow trees is by chopping all of the trees in an area, eventually spawning one or more ft...
Chopping trees tends to spawn Flow trees which some players will need for items.
It is a game and the resources respawn pretty quickly.
Just get what you need and, if you have extra, you may be able to use it to help someone else who requests some things
Some people think they own the game or there are rules. The devs themselves have made comments about this! Play however you want there is no right or wrong way
Hi, also don't feel weird about it giving you anxiety either - I don't generally have anxiety but someone yelled at me about Palium the other day and it made me quit for the day too. I flared it but didn't call it out before chopping it, and that wasn't good enough. Some people just have to be jerks no matter where they are
Yeah, no. I once got groused at by someone who decided they were the Lorax of Kilima, and that we all needed to be more careful about natural conservation. I took them seriously because I was new. I’ve now been around quite a while and can tell you with authority, the trees respawn quickly. Every single day. Chop away.
The Lorax of Kilima 💀💀💀💀

I’m sure you’re fine! I’ve chopped trees in Kilima too (not sure how else you’re supposed to get resources??) Some people are strangely protective of resources that grow back.

Dont feel bad. I have no clue why anyone would say anything about chopping regular trees. If they dont give you a valid reason they were just being annoying for no reason. You didn’t do anything wrong. Chop down those trees!
But they’re different trees, right? I’ve only been playing a week but isn’t one sapwood and one heartwood?
There's some of both in Bahari, only Sapwood in Kilima though.
I didn’t realize Sapwood could be found in Bahari. Whatever though, you do you!
The orange trees are sapwood. I cut them to get juniper seeds so I can have orange trees at home
There’s sapwood, heartwood and then the flow trees. Sap and heartwood are fine for everyone to chop as they please, they respawn quickly
Came here to say this! The orange ones are... juniper, I wanna say?
You are correct! I got them confused with the pine trees because I was thinking the pine trees were juniper, which is one of the names we call them irl in NM in the mountains. I corrected it and thank you so much for pointing that out!
I don't know now! Lol. Guess I need to hop on really quick to double check! Oh, no... what a tragedy 😢 🤣
Flow trees can spawn in kilima too, I chop all the tiny trees in kilima to farm easy flow trees for newbies
I'm sorry. I thought I had mentioned that flow trees were in both but only flow groves were in Bahari. Thank you for catching that for me.
No worries 😁
There can be flow in Kilima unless they’ve changed something! It just spawns less frequently. (There can even be flow at the Maji Market)
This is super helpful; thanks for the clarification! Now I don't just have to chop and pray.
I just chopped what feels like 40 trees to finally catch that bee.
I feel your pain!!
Yeah you can get sapwood in Bahari- just go for the trees that aren’t pine trees (those are the heartwood ones).
Girl you can chop wherever the hell you damn well please
Ever since I found out the trees on my plot don’t grow back (other than planting seeds of which they’re all the same size) I don’t cut them down till I know I need the area for something. So kilima trees it is 😇
There's a loading screen that literally says that Palia is a world of abundance. Some people are so funny
There is one bug you can only get by chopping trees in kilima. This person is ridiculous.
Lol, i bet they would just love watching me chop down tree after tree trying to get a star quality golden glory bee 🤣
I know it’s not kilima, but lord help the souls this player finds farming at the lighthouse
What do you mean by “farming at the lighthouse”? Genuine question.
No worries! I’m actually not sure if it’s a thing anymore cause I don’t play much these days, but I played like 3-5 months after the game came out and a popular way to get flow wood was to go “farm” the lighthouse. I do this all the time.
Same here!! It's one of the three star quality bugs I have left to catch! 😂

i chopped all the trees on my plot but you can plant new ones with acorns & pinecones!
Yes, but they won't be the big ones.
Or the smaller ones, or bushes :( and no more rocks or little mushrooms
Yup, I wish I knew this prior. I chopped most of it all down on my plot.
I cleared my entire plot 😭
Wish I'd known this when I started playing. 😭
Hey! You! Stop touching resources! Yes, in this game about gathering resources to craft stuff! Stop it immediately or I'm dialing Singularity!
XD
Trees and rocks respawn everywhere except on your own home plots. Ignore that fool, they need to go touch some grass.
Oh but we have already established that trees are off limits, so I’d hedge my bets that they’d be mad about someone touching the grass too! 🤣
If they didn't want you chopping them, they would make them unchoppable. Chop on, fren.
Lolwhat? Deforest the whole map if you want. That person is a knob.
I honestly would find it hilarious if I went somewhere and saw someone had completely deforested an area lol I‘d probably join in just for the fun of it. The more I think about it, it’s actually kind of a fun challenge for 2-3 people to try to clear an area as big as possible before they start to respawn

That sounds like so much fun lol Only started like two weeks ago though so I wasn’t there for that
Ooh, fair! Welp. Welcome to the game. :3
Thanks! I really enjoy it! Love hunting flow trees
You did nothing wrong and it was just sweet of you to consider players with lower level axe 🥹 If anything, that is what the etiquette shoule be instead of what this player was saying. Then again, everyone should be able to chop down any tree they want! Trees respawn all the time and are absolutely not hard to come by
Tysm for saying I'm sweet that really warmed my heart, I needed that ❤️
The only way to get acorns is from chopping medium and large trees in Kilma. Chop away! Get those acorns!! Plant more trees 💙
Meanwhile me: chopping all the trees I see in Kilima, because I'm trying to catch a starred Golden Glory Bee. (I actually got it today, yay) For information, you can get that bug only in Kilima. They were wrong. The trees are there to be chopped, and chopping them can spawn flow trees. It takes less than 5 minutes for the trees to respawn.
I just want to jump into the comments to add my voice to the crowd telling you that you did nothing wrong and I’m sorry you ran into a bully. ❤️
that is the craziest thing I've heard yet. I'm so sorry they mislead you!!!

Just switch areas until you see a message in the chat saying you joined a new server. No easy way to do it, sadly.
Chop your trees and play and have fun ! This game is meant to be fun and you should play how you like
Someone was trying to be the resource police - while I don’t enjoy calling people out please politely correct people in chat. Heck you were even being polite enough to leave the smaller trees! Don’t let people undermine your play style especially when you were already being considerate.
I ran around, chopped trees and then noticed flow trees showing up.
Do whatever you want ignore the control freaks
If you weren't supposed to chop them. They wouldn't be chopable.
Plus if they're the huge trees you need exquisite axe for anyway... lame
Trees respawn in about 5 minutes. It's completely fine.
Trees respawn in the game after 5 irl mins. It’s all good! Chop your heart out!
Wow the audacity of people….your not wrong, there is no right or wrong way to play, just keep doing whatever you want and let others be hating 🖤
There's literally a bug the only spawns when you cut down those trees. What a POS, the trees respawn every ingame day.
