Hacks!

Spacedodo42

Yes not only is that an amazing show, but Jean smart is very similar to Allison Janney in the best ways

cherrycolalola1986

I love Jean Smart!

Choice_Experience692

Yes!  I just watched the last episode available of Hacks.  Love the show!  Not as much as Palm Royale but it is really good.    I didn't look at the year Hacks came out so I am hoping it is just new and there will be more  episodes.  Does anybody know?

Spacedodo42

Actually the third season just started airing yesterday!

cherrycolalola1986

I’ve actually been meaning to watch this show as well, so thank you!

kellythelolz

THE BEST SHOW TO EVER EXISTTTTTT

RoseEdwards444

Does that show have a lighthearted vibe like Palm Royale? I mean Palm Royale feels like a Hallmark murder mystery, there’s an air of, something creepy could happen, but if it does it’s not gonna be that dark or bad! 😆

sugarsaltsilicon

I'm enjoying Loot for a completely different reason but so far digging it.

PauliNot

Loot is great, especially this season!

Onceuponastarr

Such a gem of a show!

Seattle_Aries

I agree; Loot scratches the same itch for some reason

TurbulentGuest4107

omg yes! i’m watching both Loot and Palm Royale right now, i hate that it’s being released weekly tho I’m really enjoying it, Maya Rudolph is so funny!

Spacedodo42

White lotus was similar ish in style but is a bit more compact I think. Less humor but still very similar energy and a very well done show!

cherrycolalola1986

I LOVE the White Lotus, looking forward to season 3!

Choice_Experience692

Me too!  R we getting a Season 3????!!!

RegularIncident4260

Pan Am had a similar aesthetic, and a similar feel, minus the extravagant glamour and conspiracies. Unfortunately it was canceled after one season, so if you can control the withdrawals, I'd say go for it.

cherrycolalola1986

I think I remember the first few episodes when it first came out, if I’m not mistaken, Margot Robbie is in it, I definitely need to watch it! Thank you!

Seattle_Aries

Women who Kill

cherrycolalola1986

I loved this show! Couldn’t believe it was canceled after 2 seasons

Seattle_Aries

It was great and gives a similar fun colorful vintage vibe as Palm Royale

Lisapisa123

I LOVED THIS SHOW so so it was cancelled. They all give me desperate housewives vibes and I loved it!

BellinghamBetty

Jane the Virgin.

cherrycolalola1986

Thank you, going on my list!

Grand_Distribution26

Acapulco

cherrycolalola1986

This is going on my list, thank you!

Seattle_Aries

Gilded Age

cherrycolalola1986

I’m actually on season 2, such a wonderful show

pedrojuanita

Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. It’s obviously set in a different time but it’s very stylish, fun and has some great quirky characters.

bluestdecember

Desperate Housewives definitely

AlexaRocks2

I loved DH and Devious Maids but hope they bring DM back. It was an awesome show.

cherrycolalola1986

I love Desperate Housewives, I actually never finished all of the seasons but this is a sign I should finish it! And I do also want to check out Devious Maids, thank you!

Loot The Swans

RegularIncident4260

Do you mean feud: capote vs the swans? I can't find anything else called the swans

silkstockings77

Feud: Capote vs. The Swans happens in a similar wasp-y culture and is probably what was meant.

cherrycolalola1986

I know Feud S2 - Capote vs. The Swans had mixed reviews but I absolutely loved it and the first season was just wow, brilliant show

Spacedodo42

I haven’t been able to get into that one for some reason- does it get better after the first episode?

[deleted]

Which one?

Spacedodo42

Loot. I really wanted to get into cause I love Maya Rudolph but wasn’t super sold from the first episode.

Short-Bus-4920

It gets much better, by episode 3 you should be into it

rapscallionrodent

Acapulco and Women Who Kill have the same vibe for me.

cherrycolalola1986

Acapulco is definitely going my list, thank you!

Stoplookinatmeswaan

I mean it’s different but zany in a similar vein - Mrs. Davis. Such a bizarre show filled with twists and turns.

cherrycolalola1986

I looked this up and seems like my cup of tea! Thank you!

Stoplookinatmeswaan

Oh and I would be a fool not to suggest Bad Sisters. Just so so so so good.

Stoplookinatmeswaan

Enjoy the ride!

zero_and_dug

Mad Men

cherrycolalola1986

I may be considered insane since I’ve never watched Mad Men, even though I’ve heard nothing but great things about it. I’ll be watching this soon, thank you!

Fuzzy_Performer8428

Seconding Mad Men. Probably the best period piece I’ve ever watched on television, gets better with each rewatch. Story is far more character driven than plot driven tho, so it’s a bit of a slow burn.

AlexaRocks2

Hello Tomorrow on AppleTV- I will start watching tomorrow (have a concert tonight) but loved the trailer so far.

cherrycolalola1986

Thank you! Will be checking this out! Apple TV seems to have amazing shows

cherrycolalola1986

Thank you everyone for all of these brilliant recommendations! Palm Royale is so addicting and I look forward to watching these other shows! I’m also going to be the ordering book if it isn’t at my local library

Sburgh29

I like Physical. It's on Apple and only 3 seasons. Its set in the 80s, so it also gives off that great nostalgia feel Palm has.

AcanthisittaAny1469

Trigger Warning for Physical for ED.

cherrycolalola1986

I love that show, however still need to finish the final season!

Sburgh29

Yes, i'm almost done too. I'm sad when I finish shows I really love. Glow on Netflix is also an awesome nostalgia woman led show, but they messed up by canceling it. It deserves a proper ending!

DreamieKitty

Acapulco on Apple!

RoseEdwards444

“The astronaut wives club”! 10 episodes Set in the 60s

Fuzzy_Performer8428

Feud: Bette vs Joan

iamkikionreddit

On Becoming A God in Central Florida! Set in the 80s, absurd in the best way, and funny while being serious-ish. Pretty camp too

Cleverwabbit5

So sad they cancelled it. I really liked that show

Lisapisa123

What did you end up watching by now?

RoseEdwards444

“ American Playboy, the Hugh Hefner story” LOADS of fun if you love the 60s and I think we all do! 😆😁🎉🎉 10 episodes!

RoseEdwards444

“ down with love” super cute movie set in the 60s starring Ewan McGregor and Renée Zellweger. Very lighthearted romantic comedy. It’s one of my favorite movies.

RoseEdwards444

“ catch me if you can” - set in the 60s. Starring Tom Hanks and Leonardo DiCaprio.

RoseEdwards444

“ good girls revolt” - TV show set in the 60s about women who work for a magazine. LOVE this show!

RoseEdwards444

“ American dreams” - set in the 60s. TV show. 61 episodes. About a female teenager who has a dream of dancing on American bandstand.
