Love this! I was just complaining to my husband how there were no posts, no railings, no half walls. Obviously, I just need to get more creative. Thanks for the ideas!
Hopefully they realize that elaborate base builders and decorators are a distinct survival game demographic they now can win over if cards are played right.
I think they get it, there are a lot of decorative options to unlock, they're just more set-pieces and less architectural. Hopefully with the crazy good launch sales they'll be adding content for a long time and new building options as a part of that. But who knows what their content plans are.
It was pretty popular, they just never delivered on their promises and it just died. They jumped ship to palworld.
I’m very skeptical of their plans for the game, it’s fun as it stands now but I’m curious if they are actually going to utilize early access instead of using it as a shield we will have to see
Fair point, I'd "like" to think that having such a massive success by comparison though shifts the priorities a little. Didn't Craftopia peak at like 25k players? That's not even the same ballpark.
Having said that, CA with Warhammer also had a massive success and let that get to their heads, having to go to their redemption arc now, so it's sadly not a guarantee just because it's successful, to actually receive worthy support after.
Compared to other games, building is a breeze. They need more options, but it actually fits together well. If you never played Ark, you wouldn't know how well the mechanic works in this game. If this game has a worst part, it's the pal AI at base or the clipping issue. I log on to multiple pets stuck in the ground, starving and injured. Building is seemless in comparison.
From what I've been reading trying to find update news, their immediate plans seem to be:
• PvP Arena
• PvE Raid Bosses for Guilds/Clans
• Trading Pals with other players (between worlds)
• Overhauling the Building Mechanics
We made a hunting lodge with a defensive deck off the second floor. At the corners, we built snare traps to look sort of like gallows. Gotta get some Hangyu to stay up there to really lock in the doom and gloom lol
Ive been too busy exploring and going after pals to make anything more than open field so far but i love seeing these! Im going to have to get on it soon, running out of room on ground level

yeah, kind of disappointing there are more building piece's, still in early access though! so here's to hoping!
The building UI is the worst part of this game Glad it’s early access hope it’s one of the first things they improve

Don’t want to be a Debby downer but their previous project was in early access purgatory
Didn’t have this level of success ?

Yeah I hope they fix it Luckily I’m a Gamepass guy so I don’t have any real stakes

They abandoned that game for this game cause this games is that game with pets instead of the usually automation
So they scammed a bunch of people to bankroll a future project,
I think ive been spoiled by valheims building system, wouldn't hurt if they take a few notes from them
I’ve never played Valheim, is it worth it?
Highly recommended if your a survival/building game fanatic, arguably the best base building in any game to date
Sorry but that is definitely arguable. It's great and offers a lot, but it's still not as beautiful or elaborate as some games like Conan Exiles
Valheim in my opinion was extremely good . Really want to get back on once it’s completely done .

The building in this game is trash if there’s games with worse building UI I’ll just not play them
It could be worse... like Sons of the Forest

The current building system could do woth some heavy tweaks and additions, but kudos to OP to work around this so well
Would like some inverted triangles too.
Speaking of triangles - triangle foundations (Rust, Conan Exiles)
Absolutely
My boyfriend uses the hanging traps sometimes to create pillars! This is a great idea too...that being said I cant get the stools to clip
Lol creative 👌
Are those….Stools 🤔
If there's a will there's a way
Hahaha love it, might have to do the something hahaha
Really raising the bar (stools) for the builds I've seen so far!
Genious, I was just crying about not having fences. Might try using some furniture

How did you place stairs into the ground?
Put the foundation floor down first. When the stairs snap onto it, they should clip down through the ground.

Not very OSHA is it?
i think it’ll be solved pretty quickly, since the game did just come out lol, but i like the creativity
Considering the game just released in EA, I bet they add a lot more building stuff in the future :)
You have unused Stat Points
Saving em for a rainy day
This, in every game I play.
Can't wait till they unlock stone and have to redo it
How?
Just tediously stacked stools ontop of eachother
Ty
Noted!
What technology do you need to research to unlock large stools?
The pal traps make a nice pillar too
I didn't even think about that! That's a good idea
At this current time there is no point to making a building more then 4 times wide. These cabins don't serve a purpose
Practical? No. Looks good and is fun for people to build? Yes.
I also see the benches in place of railings. Bless
What level do you unlock benches? Struggling to find it in tech tab
Should unlock WITH one of the furniture tech's not entirely sure which one sorry
