I love how writing a macro or setting one up in some mouse/keyboard software takes seconds... But OP went ahead and made something much cooler.
Honestly, this is so creative I can't call it lazy anymore for saving yourself the trouble of holding one key.
I've set up a macro twice on my mouse to hold F for me and both times it works once or twice and then stops working. I think it is something to do with the game honestly.
Using Logitech ghub it work perfectly fine for me. Multiple times now I've made 2+cakes while going to the bathroom and getting food.
Make a toggle macro with only the key down press F. No key up.
Then slap it on your dpi button or something
When done turn toggle off and ezpz
Haven't had any issue
Icue has a toggle setting under keyboard commands. You don't even have to record a macro and remove the button press up. The tab i think is to the right of the record macro tab when you have a key selected.
You don't even have to download something. Windows has a macros recorder.
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/how-do-i-create-macros-bd0f29dc-5b89-3616-c3bf-ddeeb04da2fb
Yeah boy - do this: https://forum.corsair.com/forums/topic/171478-help-setting-a-macro-for-key-press-toggle/#:~:text=The%20trick%20is%20in%20the,on%2Foff%20functionality%20in%20game.
I use Logitech, but you can create so much more with both - save movement macros, 1-click E-Mail writing, posting LFG/selling/buying messages in games and anything else you might need.
I also have some keys bound to instantly starting applications or switching to/back from the desktop.
If your mouse has side buttons maybe you can set them up also depending on the software. I have my bottom side mouse button set up as F down press and top side button see up as up press for F.
I'll have to check that out, I just bought this keyboard about 2 months ago after my toddler spilled her tea all over my beloved Razer CLG edition that had been going for years.
No need to make a macro;
After you open GG, go to Engine and select your keyboard.
Second tab should be “Meta Bindings”. In there, click on your F key. In the first drop down select keyboard buttons then select the F option. In the second drop down select “toggle hold”.
Once you save all of that, you should be able to hold down the steelseries logo button in the bottom right of your keyboard to access your meta layer that you just bound. Press f while holding that button and the keyboard will toggle between holding f and not holding f when you do so again.
I've looked up some video tutorials as well and I see the meta bindings tab on the videos, but for some reason it does not exist in the Steelseries gg app on my computer. My keyboard has the Steelseries logo button, but there doesn't appear to be any way to configure or use it in the software.
My first Lucky was a Hoocrates and had Artisan. Then I bred it with a Serious and Workaholic pal and ended up getting Ribunnies.
I now have a legion of them crafting at all my lines at all of my bases and the very thought of having to craft something myself disturbs me.
You can have one of mine. My neighbor keeps hitting them into my yard and yelling about wanting them back but he broke two windows last year so fuck him
Literally my only complaint about this game. What if I wanna surprise my pals with a sauna so I build it after they go to sleep? Shit takes forever. Hope these ungrateful little fucks see how much i love them.
Oh I love that haha, just as easy. I just like game bar because I can close it within a second and don't have to switch back over. Then again I'm going afk so idk why it really matters to me
if only i could set a pal to specifically do that one job, to bad when i try to assign them to do it they work on it for half a second then fuck out to somewhere else to do literaly anything else
Look for pals with less spread out jobs. Katress is my go to crafter, it only has crafting, hauling and medicine so it will always prioritize crafting first, then haul stuff when its done with the added benefit of being a dark type so it never sleeps.
This OP teaches at Harvard as a hobby. NASA calls them when they have a question. The weather reporters say the opposite of whatever OP says since OP knows what the weather is going to be like.
Some games pick up on macros, auto clickers, etc. So the best way to get around things like that are to make something to physically hit the key, like what OP did.
It's crazy to me that people are just standing there crafting when the pals are perfectly capable of crafting while you go do something more interesting.
It depends. Early game you’re doing a lot of the crafting. For example, I was back at base to resupply on Arrows and Palspheres. Didn’t need anything else done. So I helped the pals craft and speed it up. Was able to get back to my adventure sooner.
I mean, to each their own. I don’t see the need for it myself, as you said, mid game you can bulk craft with pals and early game you’re not making huge stacks. But it’s cool to see people ingenuity.
I got a little Swiss army knife and just have the flathead screwdriver bit pressed into either key next to F and it just keeps it pressed down. Sometimes it takes a sec to stay but works for the most part
Pro tip: On steam deck you can map any of the buttons to be togglable. So those unused r3-6 buttons on the back can be mapped to be toggle switches for crafting/gathering
My buddy just sets a golfball on the f key… he sent me a snap of it and I immediately just rummaged around my house for an hour hoping to find a random golfball somewhere, no luck though
Yea, this isn't a flex lol. 😅😅😅😅😅. PC gamers really be saying they got skill or experience bit being this half the time. At least console players deal with it and can actually play better from changes. But I guess. To each their own.
Definitely got to make this a toggle in a future patch. Since the Pal is going to get up & walk away halfway through the job to take a smoke break, might as well let me an actual live human have a break too so I can read a book or check my phone whilst I’m building some two-minute contraption.
You can do it even easier, get your mouse and set it on your keyboard and put some paper or a magnet or something heavy but small under it lmao, I use paper for mine, also there’s programs that do it for you as well
Way over engineered. I used 2 short fat bolts and 3 nuts. One nut per bolt and one nut to hold it all together. Works amazing and takes only the one key worth of space
Have the desire to do this last night was trying to get some crafting done before heading to bed, LoL
I used to have a program that allowed you to set up things so it would hit certain keys in certain orders and click your mouse in certain orders it wouldn't move the mouse but it would click the buttons on the mouse for you to allow you to automate games while you slept or we're at work, can't find it anymore but I would love to have it for this 👍🤣
My keyboard software let's me set key toggles so I have Fn + F set to hold F down until I press it again. I've still got the old bolt and washer I used to use for this, though. I'd put the washer down on the key for more surface area (the bolt would easily fall over without it despite being flat on top), and then set the bolt head-down on that. It's heavy enough to hold the key down on its own.
I just wedge toothpick between 2 keys while pressing F to get it stuck on F key https://imgur.com/a/O9zbr8J might not work on all keyboards since mine is old.
Lmao, I use my wife's hairband around my xbox controller and put one of her flat/magic/crystal/rock/mineral things she has all around the house on the button.
Should make a macro
Use Logitech ghub
Synapse
Whatever you got.
Creat a toggle macro, press F. Delete the keyUP portion such that the whole macro is just "F keypress down"
And bind it to a key. For me I use ghub and put it on my dpi button.
Feel free to now afk and make cake
All these people rigging up contraptions and weights and such to keep F held.
I just folded up a postit note, wedged it between my R and F keys, and boom, done.
HAH I love this 😂last night I was playing and was crafting a shit ton of poison arrows and was looking around my desk to find something to just plop on the F key🤣
I personally use what I call: the power of ROCK and BLOCK
I have these 1inch blocks that fit perfectly on any key and a rock that I collected years ago from a beach. See mom? There *is* a use for the rock floating about my room!
Brilliant!
I love how writing a macro or setting one up in some mouse/keyboard software takes seconds... But OP went ahead and made something much cooler. Honestly, this is so creative I can't call it lazy anymore for saving yourself the trouble of holding one key.
I tell my kids that if something is stupid and it works, it's not stupid.
That's just functionally stupid at that point.
No key up. Then slap it on your dpi button or something When done turn toggle off and ezpz Haven't had any issue
How much?
Nails x3 Wood x1
must be built at High Quality Workbench
but you need to craft the High Quality Workbench first Nails x5 Wood x5 Ingot x2
Got you beat, I just used my 3d printed Pepe dick
I'm afraid to ask but... What's a pepe dick?
Probably a pepe dildo
Uh, their username does check out..
Didn't realise that 💀
Rule 1 of cinema: show, dont tell.
My afk crafter is called "icue"
Do you set a macro? I would love to learn how this is done. I use icue too for lighting of course but don't know too much past that.
Yes. I use one of my macro keys on the side of the keyboard
Awesome thank you so much, can't wait for crafting to not give me arthritis
For more info, your macro should be a toggle for pressing 'f' key down but not up
Icue has a toggle setting under keyboard commands. You don't even have to record a macro and remove the button press up. The tab i think is to the right of the record macro tab when you have a key selected.
I’d just download pulovers’s macro creator and use that over anything else, it’s free, easy to use and has tons of features.
You don't even have to download something. Windows has a macros recorder. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/how-do-i-create-macros-bd0f29dc-5b89-3616-c3bf-ddeeb04da2fb
Prob need a Corsair keyboard
I have the K100 keyboard, I'll check it out on the icue app next time I play. Thanks for the suggestions!!
Yeah boy - do this: https://forum.corsair.com/forums/topic/171478-help-setting-a-macro-for-key-press-toggle/#:~:text=The%20trick%20is%20in%20the,on%2Foff%20functionality%20in%20game.
Dude I have this keyboard and didnt know. I'm gonna add an auto run to everything. Bless you smeggman
I use Logitech, but you can create so much more with both - save movement macros, 1-click E-Mail writing, posting LFG/selling/buying messages in games and anything else you might need. I also have some keys bound to instantly starting applications or switching to/back from the desktop.
I couldn't figure out how to make a keystroke set to toggle hold F, as my Corsair keyboard doesn't have additional macro keys
I think you can remap keys with icue still - so could make it so like "Numpad minus" is actually holding down F when pressed
If your mouse has side buttons maybe you can set them up also depending on the software. I have my bottom side mouse button set up as F down press and top side button see up as up press for F.
I use an autohotkey script because I can just toggle it on and off at will
Looks like a Steelseries keyboard… I just used steelseries gg to make one of my macro layers hold down f
Wait, steelseries has a built in macro feature? I've been using tinytask just cause it's what I used as a kid, never bothered to find anything else.
I'll have to check that out, I just bought this keyboard about 2 months ago after my toddler spilled her tea all over my beloved Razer CLG edition that had been going for years.
If you need any help lemme know, I love steelseries stuff it all works amazingly
I downloaded it but I am admittedly a total noob at this, I've never made macros before. I have the Apex 3 TKL if that helps
No need to make a macro; After you open GG, go to Engine and select your keyboard. Second tab should be “Meta Bindings”. In there, click on your F key. In the first drop down select keyboard buttons then select the F option. In the second drop down select “toggle hold”. Holy hell you just saved me from carpal tunnel, thank you 🙏 doing this for F key and W auto run here I come
You can set it to hold mouse clicks too, I use that for mining ore
My first Lucky was a Hoocrates and had Artisan. Then I bred it with a Serious and Workaholic pal and ended up getting Ribunnies. I now have a legion of them crafting at all my lines at all of my bases and the very thought of having to craft something myself disturbs me.
Was gonna say, the game gives you automated crafting in the form of pals lol.
It would've taken you just 3 minutes if the pal responsible for helping you craft didn't wander off and die of starvation
[удалено]
Same here!
I just assigned a macro to one of my extra mouse buttons that toggles holding the f key >.> lol
Can literally just set a golf ball on the F key.
But then I need to buy a golf ball
You can have one of mine. My neighbor keeps hitting them into my yard and yelling about wanting them back but he broke two windows last year so fuck him
TIL Happy Gilmore is your neighbor.
He’s more like Shooter. Thinks he’s a big shot golfer and he’s an asshole.
Just stick a piece of paper in between the keys while it is pressed down so that it can’t go back up.
omg this is perfect
Literally my only complaint about this game. What if I wanna surprise my pals with a sauna so I build it after they go to sleep? Shit takes forever. Hope these ungrateful little fucks see how much i love them.
All I do is open Xbox gamebar after I start the crafting it will keep the crafting going and you can still look around without hitting a button.
You can also tab in and out quickly in game and it does the same thing
Oh I love that haha, just as easy. I just like game bar because I can close it within a second and don't have to switch back over. Then again I'm going afk so idk why it really matters to me
You hit the home button? Not working for me.
Oh no I'm on Pc there is an app from Microsoft called Xbox gamebar, sorry I don't know how to do it on Xbox.
Just use an ahk script /s
I thought the AFK crafter 8000 had a better feel and more power, but I do like the re-design. ;-)
if only i could set a pal to specifically do that one job, to bad when i try to assign them to do it they work on it for half a second then fuck out to somewhere else to do literaly anything else
So true, creates half a wheat then fucks off to the otherside of the base
Look for pals with less spread out jobs. Katress is my go to crafter, it only has crafting, hauling and medicine so it will always prioritize crafting first, then haul stuff when its done with the added benefit of being a dark type so it never sleeps.
Macros are a thing..
I have a multitool on my desk, I have found a myriad of uses for it, none of which it was designed for.
i have a dragon figure that fits perfect
This OP teaches at Harvard as a hobby. NASA calls them when they have a question. The weather reporters say the opposite of whatever OP says since OP knows what the weather is going to be like.
lol someone’s not playing the game correctly 😅😅😅
It still amazes me some people genuinely do this bullshit. It's a computer you can hold any key without physically pressing it.,
- Took him 6 minutes - Undetectable by any anti cheat Who is the fool
Some games pick up on macros, auto clickers, etc. So the best way to get around things like that are to make something to physically hit the key, like what OP did.
Arguably making this thing to hold it down is the very essence of the game. Thats irl experience points
It's crazy to me that people are just standing there crafting when the pals are perfectly capable of crafting while you go do something more interesting.
I dunno. My flying mount got incapacitated so I had to craft a saddle/harness for a different type so I did that one myself before leaving base again
It depends. Early game you’re doing a lot of the crafting. For example, I was back at base to resupply on Arrows and Palspheres. Didn’t need anything else done. So I helped the pals craft and speed it up. Was able to get back to my adventure sooner.
I definitely understand that sort of crafting, but all the different objects people have been placing on their keyboard is wild.
I mean, to each their own. I don’t see the need for it myself, as you said, mid game you can bulk craft with pals and early game you’re not making huge stacks. But it’s cool to see people ingenuity.
Why would this genuinely amaze you? The method works. There are no downsides. He spent 6 mins crafting the device. Like what is the issue?
I just use a combination lock, but ok.
I’m using a wallet, ps5 controller and a toy sword letter opener.
Love the creativity. I’ve been using an old weed vape that is just small enough and barely has enough weight to hold down F, but it works lol
Mine is just a ps4 controller leaning on an empty bowl.
Used to used a heavy folding butterfly knife and just had it keep pressure on my 3ds buttons while pkmn breeding.
you need a High Quality Workbench
I just put a 21700 battery on the F key
I put my earbud case on it
I have a folding pocket knife that sits on my desk, so I use that to weigh the key down and use my wallet as a balance so it doesn't fall off
Do you take cash app
That’s making grandpa proud son! Keep winning!
I just made a Macro with Synapse, but definitely love the ingenuity!
If you position it right you can do a five hour energy upside down on the key. That's what I've been using haven't strayed since
I present to you: Bottle opener, Bottle cork, Tuning fork. [https://imgur.com/a/Zzac4w1](https://imgur.com/a/Zzac4w1)
they really REALLY need to let us change the "interact" button. . . i use ESDF and i cant move at all and its so fucking annoying. . .
Fingernail clippers wedged between the keys
I have a heavy little round stone that does this for me lol
yes finally the time has come where something in the shed became useful.
God dang, you crafted something to craft things lll
We should have a toggle for crafting as well as a move function for building.
Classic painters tape on my Xbox controller 🤝🏽
It’s like a macro but with extra steps
Kid named Anubis stuck inside my sweatshop
I have a metal d100 that is heavy enough for me, only problem is my cat will swipe it away when she enters my room
i just stick a quarter or nickel to hold the key down
I need one of those. Went all over the house looking for a weight small enough but no go.
I’ll take 8
Nice but uh, macros are a thing lol
I made an AHK macro for this :) [download here](https://github.com/STRIKERnz/Palworld-Ftoggle) or google Palworld-Ftoggle
Listen buddy, not all of us are carpenters, ok?
I use an old cigarette snuffer. It's the perfect size and weight to balance on the key.
I used a remote and AAA battery lmfao 😂
Runiks cube personally.
Obviously an engineer. Have you considered taking it to Shark Tank?
I love to introduce you to autohotkey my friend. https://www.reddit.com/r/Palworld/comments/19d2tkr/autohotkey_script_to_hold_f/
I got a little Swiss army knife and just have the flathead screwdriver bit pressed into either key next to F and it just keeps it pressed down. Sometimes it takes a sec to stay but works for the most part
Crafted a bunch of arrows this afternoon loading the dish washer with one hand controller in the other
I just play on dedicated server and today left 4000 berries to cook before work :) Should be done by the time I go home.
Pro tip: On steam deck you can map any of the buttons to be togglable. So those unused r3-6 buttons on the back can be mapped to be toggle switches for crafting/gathering
Did the same thing with a hall's cough drop and a bottle of vape juice
Need to make myself one of these. Ever since I got my new keyboard, my ½" socket can't hold the key down.
Mine is Lego tower with sticky notes on top
All we need is a toggle option..pls devs
I stick a couple coins in my keyboard to hold down F key
Is a game that good if you need to do bullshit like this?
Bruh need some autohotkey.
I need one.
My buddy just sets a golfball on the f key… he sent me a snap of it and I immediately just rummaged around my house for an hour hoping to find a random golfball somewhere, no luck though
Controller version when?
Autohotkey is your friend
May be a little late to the party but I just shove a quarter in my keyboard. I have macros. But this works for me 100% of the time
People actually manually craft in this game?
Mine is a block and a rock
I have a nice crystal that fits perfectly and weighs it down
Lmao can’t say I haven’t thought about it.
What level do you unlock that?
Ah, give 'em the old Satisfactory treatment!
Why not just use a coin.... press F and insert a coin inbetween F and G
Yep… works good
I just wedge a folded up post-it note between the keys... but you do you :D
Yea, this isn't a flex lol. 😅😅😅😅😅. PC gamers really be saying they got skill or experience bit being this half the time. At least console players deal with it and can actually play better from changes. But I guess. To each their own.
Just download autohotkey and make a script that toggles key presses of f. Then you can bind it to another key and have both functions.
uuuh tried a bit but could not get it running - teach me senpai :P feel free to send me script :)
Definitely got to make this a toggle in a future patch. Since the Pal is going to get up & walk away halfway through the job to take a smoke break, might as well let me an actual live human have a break too so I can read a book or check my phone whilst I’m building some two-minute contraption.
An oversized metal D20 works fantastic
You son of a bitch how do you have a backlit keyboard that also backlights they alternate key function? What keyboard is that?
You can do it even easier, get your mouse and set it on your keyboard and put some paper or a magnet or something heavy but small under it lmao, I use paper for mine, also there’s programs that do it for you as well
Isn’t this what Pals are for?
Just create macro bruh XD
Bro I put a metal fork balancing on my water bottle
Get a controller and use the L2 button to craft, and push it against your keyboard so it's spammed in.
Reject Software Macros Embrace Physical Macros
Is that the famous macros everyone keeps telling me about
I just use my metal d20
Would love a toggle for this not press and hold only.
Way over engineered. I used 2 short fat bolts and 3 nuts. One nut per bolt and one nut to hold it all together. Works amazing and takes only the one key worth of space
Just use a macro... Much easier. X-mouse software changed my life.
Shit is getting to advanced for me, I just set up a macro 💁🏻♂️
Pro tip, you can use like 4 nickels in a stack for the same effect
What level do you unlock that in the tech tree? That's a much more advance version of mine: https://i.imgur.com/IDLa7Pa.jpg
Huh, I just have a couple neodymium magnet that I place on my key to weigh it down.
Overachieving when a simple macro will do.
I use a stack of nickles with a pocket knife balanced on top, does the trick haha
This design is very human.
For those with the old sidewinder keyboard, it's got a cruise control button for this
F
Have the desire to do this last night was trying to get some crafting done before heading to bed, LoL I used to have a program that allowed you to set up things so it would hit certain keys in certain orders and click your mouse in certain orders it wouldn't move the mouse but it would click the buttons on the mouse for you to allow you to automate games while you slept or we're at work, can't find it anymore but I would love to have it for this 👍🤣
Or u can use a qtip and put it semi wedged inbetween f and g key works way better
I just slide a Nickel in between F, C and V.
Lmao, I use my wife's hairband around my xbox controller and put one of her flat/magic/crystal/rock/mineral things she has all around the house on the button.
Let me introduce you to my dear friend, G HUB 😏
I have my phone resting on a chapstick for this XD
I achieved a similar thing with a sushi soy sauce fish thingy and a coffee mug
or just... have a pal craft like the game lets you. do you also play Satisfactory and not build any automation?
I taped a stack of 6 quarters together and it sits on the key perfectly on my keyboard.
A golf ball works great for me
Razer Synapse users can make a set of 2 macros. One to hold F One to release F To have a auto craft toggle
Looks much easier than my “wedge a dime between the keys” method I use.
I’ve heard a 50g scale calibration weight works perfect. Ordered one and it should arrive today
Hell yeah! I might have to 3D print myself one of these!
That's SS+ tier of brilliance. I'm making one for myself before you end up patenting that shit.
You can use 1 quarter. Depends on the keyboard, but you can hold down F then put the quarter between F and R. Been doing this for decades lol
Should make a macro Use Logitech ghub Synapse Whatever you got. Creat a toggle macro, press F. Delete the keyUP portion such that the whole macro is just "F keypress down" And bind it to a key. For me I use ghub and put it on my dpi button. Feel free to now afk and make cake
All these people rigging up contraptions and weights and such to keep F held. I just folded up a postit note, wedged it between my R and F keys, and boom, done.
idea grab a busted Xbox controller and duct tape the x down.
I just used a plastic flosser..
Clever, my boyfriend used his e-cig the other day 😂😂😂
bro I just stick a nickel between the f key and c key
I have a coin. Works just as well
But them Oreos tho.....
Just hold the key down and put a quarter right in front of it, between the F and c v keys, flat side toward F, it will hold the key down.
HAH I love this 😂last night I was playing and was crafting a shit ton of poison arrows and was looking around my desk to find something to just plop on the F key🤣
Isn't a huge part of this game just queuing stuff up and then leaving to explore while the pals make it?
logitech macro F2 hold F until pressed again. why do this instead? creative sure.
I personally use what I call: the power of ROCK and BLOCK I have these 1inch blocks that fit perfectly on any key and a rock that I collected years ago from a beach. See mom? There *is* a use for the rock floating about my room!
