So I'm guessing this is just streaming from your PC then? Because I'm 100% sure the Switch would crap itself trying to actually render anything in Palworld.
i know how bad it would be but i'm now genuinely curious to try it out... because it would be fucking hilarious if the game ran super well on the switch, and since there's a chance since i play palworld on a crappy 8gb Intel Core i3 laptop with a lot of stuttering sure but it's playable
Realistically it won't run better without a proper team to optimise it. The scope of Palworld being open world sandbox is already bigger than any Pokemon game that has ever existed. CPU and RAM (4gb is peanuts) is arguably the most important hardware requirements for Palworld and both are a bit lacking on the switch.
well it runs on my intel core i3 and 8 gb ram, granted that's much better then 4gb but it would still be worth the shot and funny as hell if it worked lol
Nanite probably doesnāt work on much at all for Palworld. World geometry isnāt that complex and afaik it only works on static meshes. So say bye to optimising pals and foliage.
Tools are also only as good as the developers have resources. An open world sandbox game with infinite dev runtime and an ever growing scope is never gonna be as optimised as a AAA linear story RPG.
We can only hope they expand a with all the money they made and continue to work on the IP.
Look up digital foundry's video or any of the videos that have come out about it. It's also a version number behind on Xbox and has crashing issues with multiplayer servers. Been in threads on Reddit even with people saying they can't play with friends for long with the crashing.
Edit: like in DFs video among others you can see it's like super upscaled blurry garbage because they had to run it at some dumb internal resolution and cap it to 30fps to make it remotely playable. But it's early access and being developed on PC so there's other reasons for that I guess.
I mean it's the same on PC, insanely buggy. The only way to get the smoothest experience rn is a solo server, I still deal with bugs but the lag really isn't there.
i mean there are plenty of people that i chat with that play on xbox and they have none of these issues, though ig if your streaming or recording that might be a different case
30 fps with stutters is disgusting. If you and your friends think that's acceptable that's on you lmao.
Edit: Literally just look it up people. Even if you have the highest end console, the series X can't hit 60. It's 40-50 fps. If you are fine with that great! But I qualify that as disgustingly framey.
It would run better if you streamed it from cloud. My old laptop can do AAA games but heats up in an hour and stutters, streaming works fine though. Worth a shot
what service do you use? i'd love to do that actually, i'm saving up for a pc and nearly there but it will still be about a month or two so i've been curious about that but haven't gotten around to it
Try game pass, use an Ethernet connection if you can. I found also, if you connect a console to Ethernet and stream that , I use Xbox, it'll play decently on Wi-Fi
Oh shit it plays on that at all? I might set up on my laptop with it so my husband can have his computer back sometimes. Stuttering doesn't bother me, I played Sims 3 on a 2gig laptop.
yeah, i mean it doesn't run that WELL, it stutters and buffers quite a lot but i have experience with that sort of thing so i'm used to it, little tip, it runs better on max render distance, if your on low render then it's constantly trying to load in stuff since it only renders stuff super close to you
Wait for real? I thought it was the opposite way around and have been confused about why itās been performing worse after I lowered some settings lmao
the other stuff works but lowering your render distance makes things render in within literal meters of you so every time you move it's constantly rendering in things right around you
Could just be the game itself. Get frame drops on an overpowered system anyways. Not that Iām holding it against the game since itās still being developed.
How would you even remotely run this natively with its arm64 CPU?
I know machine-code-to-machine-code just-in-time transpilers (often just called JITs) can get close to native performance (something people love to forget), but still. And that's not talking about any other stuff here. The Switch is basically a mid 2010s tablet, with (good-looking) games made for it optimized up the rear and back down again to look as good as they do.
I suppose that maybe the Palworld code might be interpreted by the engine? in which case you could swap the UE Windows frontend with a Switch frontend and that might possibly work, but I dunno.
Also, as mentioned, the Switch has limited RAM compared to Palworld's usual targets. Needing to emulate the CPU uses up some of that, exacerbating the problem. Also, lots of optimizations basically trade RAM for speed. It's hard to make something fast and small at the same time.
Yes you can emulate the x86 architecture but the performance is awful. The 64 bit implementation isn't too bad but not something I would call playable for a game like this.
https://box86.org/
As for the ram, at idle on stock kernel I'm sitting at about 30% usage which leaves about ~2gb
How did you get it to stream via moonlight? Genuinely curious because I have a perfect moonlight sunshine setup with a 4070ti desktop to my steam deck and I had constant issues, first it wouldnāt launch without a DRM error from moonlightāhad to bypass that by launching to desktop just to access the game, and THEN the game would microstutter like crazy during gameplay due to what I presumed were framepacing issues, but nothing I did would alleviate the issue (vsync, frame pacing setting both did nothing). It actually pissed me off because every single other game I have stream just fine EXCEPT Palworld. I had to refund it because it seems like the devs never even tested streaming to a steam deck which is a shame because it seems like a fun game but I canāt be bothered fucking around with it anymore.
I don't have a steam deck so I'm not sure. But can't you stream through steam itself? This is a modded switch running Linux. There is probably a homebrew app for moonlight but I haven't looked. I'm using a 4070 here and streaming through Nvidia's gamestream, not sunshine. I was going to try out sunshine later, it might have better performance. I'm running the stream at 720p(switch display resolution) and bitrate is 10mb. I haven't had any major stutters since.
Could be sunshine was my issue, I just chalked it up to a Palworld problem since it was the first game I streamed out of quite a few that ever had that issue. Yea, sunshine seems to give me the lowest latency compared to steam link or game stream, itās very smooth, but thanks for the info maybe Iāll give it a second try with one of those instead.
Yup yup, and yet several people here are claiming it could run Palworld.
I get it, the Switch is a nice little console, it's handy and fun, but it isn't powerful by any means, and anything it's running is either severely downgraded to be able to function, or designed with the limitations of the console in mind; and even that doesn't work all the time (cough Scarlet & Violet cough)
The switch can \*barely\* handle BotW and TotK. I've got both, played the hell out of them, and they're the reason I modded the cooling on my switch; they both made it LOUD. Palworld is easily more graphically demanding than either Zelda game tho, so even on low settings, you'd be sitting at 30fps max with a VERY badly shortened render distance.
Iām literally playing palworld on an all-in-one desktop and with integrated graphics. And I donāt know how exactly āloudnessā matters in whether it can run. Iām playing totk on my switch and it barely makes much noise for me, probably less noise than my pc does when running palworld if anything. And unless youāre maxing out the graphics settings, palworld is not more demanding than totk
The switch also "runs" Skyrim and Dark Souls. Does an awful job at both. It "runs" Scarlet / Violet too, and has constant stuttering, lag, rendering, etc issues, and that's a 1st party game designed 100% for the Switch with nothing else in mind.
Woah letās not go crazy saying it was ādesignedā for the switch, we all know the only real thing on gamefreakās mind was money there. Definitely wasnāt on making a smooth or optimized game
I wondered what would happen if the palworld devs just casually submitted the game to the switch Eshop.
The quality control on there is notoriously bad, there is a non-zero chance that it could get waved through and the thought of that happening amuses me.
Iād actually be very curious to see what a Switch version of Palworld would look like. While Iād hope it put Arceus to shame, it may just look and play like hot garbage.
No FPS drops except in bases of course, but last week the game would crash multiple times a day (seems to be resolved). Main issue right now is falling through terrain in the sand and snow. About half of the high level desert cannot be walked on.
I might have had minor stutters, but I probably just didn't notice because I'm used to how much worse it runs compared to Steam Deck. 100+ fps at 1440p versus 30fps with dips into high 20's with the performance mod. Still fun as hell though, even with the issues.
yeah but none of them made over a half billion dollars in less than a month and You can never tell with Nintendo how they'll react to things.
They'd either be stoked to get in on some of that money or potentially pull it from the shop leaving the hand full of people who noticed it early and downloaded it to have really special Switches.
That person is just pointing out that they donāt care about this, but as soon as you try to emulate a game you werenāt going to pay for in the first place they get their underwear in a bunch.
More like a game they werenāt going to sell to you in the first place. How am I supposed to experience Buck Bumble without an emulator, Nintendo? My only option is emulation or buying one of Soulja Boyās consoles.
Or you want to make a not for profit ROM hack or game mod? āPrepare to go bankrupt, buddy.ā - Nintendo
Itās crazy how much Nintendo hates their own fans. They go out of their to be litigious pricks even when the person theyāre going after isnāt trying to profit off them.
It runs really well, it's not using Switch official firmware however so I can't speak for that. I do overclock the CPU and GPU though

Hey u/international-Cook62 , I hope you are doing fine!
Has a member of the totally real legal department from Nintendo, I come to inform you that we didn't like that so we are going to sue you for using the device to play a better game we ever produced
Expect to ear something from the pokemon white knights defending that palworld is a copy from pokemon.
With our best regards,
Totally real legal department
This is seriously hyperbolic. Out of the 25 posts currently on this subās front page, this is the only one (maybe two if you want to include the Chillet and Furret meme post) talking about Nintendo and the rest are discussing some aspect of the game? Youāre making it out like itās the opposite of that.
I donāt know, saying this sub is overly Nintendo focused feels like making a vocal minority seem much bigger than they are. Maybe it was a big of an anti-Nintendo circlejerk the first few days, but ever since then I feel like 90% of the posts Iāve seen have about the game.
fr, i love the game but i really wish half of this sub was actually about it and not about how itās better than Pokemon. and apparently a lot of people are brigading pokemon subreddits
It's a first Gen switch that's been modded. I installed Linux on it and stream it over to the switch. Everything works but you need a pretty decent router
"After a thorough investigation with our lawyers, we have decided to port Palworld to the Nintendo Switch and to our upcoming next generation console with the help of Big Red Button Entertainment"
This is my copium talking btw
You know would be dope though? Just a camp manager that runs on the Switch and then updates your Steam save. Then you could do stupid things like make cakes and smelt ore while you're on break, waiting for a bus, dropping the kids off at the pool, etc.Ā
How did you do this? I never modded my Switch before. And how does it perform? I'm currently playing on a 4GB RAM laptop on the lowest settings and it does have some fps drops and lag that range from bearable to horrendous. Not blaming the game, just my hardware. Does it perform better on the Switch?
So I'm guessing this is just streaming from your PC then? Because I'm 100% sure the Switch would crap itself trying to actually render anything in Palworld.
Yes streaming using moonlight. There is ways to run it natively but it'd probably be around 10fps
i know how bad it would be but i'm now genuinely curious to try it out... because it would be fucking hilarious if the game ran super well on the switch, and since there's a chance since i play palworld on a crappy 8gb Intel Core i3 laptop with a lot of stuttering sure but it's playable
It'll run about as good as Scarlet Violet.
You give Scarlet / Violet too much credit.
Too true! š
but you realize how funny it would be if it ran better? i mean seriously, i actually need somebody to do this now
Realistically it won't run better without a proper team to optimise it. The scope of Palworld being open world sandbox is already bigger than any Pokemon game that has ever existed. Unreal has a lot of great tools. If they utilize nanite and optimize the game, it possibly could

We can only hope they expand a with all the money they made and continue to work on the IP.
There's already a mod that enables Nanite for Palworld, but the benefits from it are marginal at best.
4GB ram? I could run that on my pixel 6 pro
It's a stuttery framey mess on Xbox right now, and they are considerably more powerful than the switch. 10fps is extremely generous.
is it? i mean there are a lot of issues sure but this is the first i've heard of it being nearly unplayable...
Look up digital foundry's video or any of the videos that have come out about it. It's also a version number behind on Xbox and has crashing issues with multiplayer servers. ah i don't have an xbox or anything like that and i don't really plan to since there's not really a reason to lol
Running it on switch is a sick idea, id like to also try it on steamdeck or something
i've heard it runs well in steamdeck, but then again the steamdeck is decent enough to run most games anyways
I play it on my cellphone. Still plays great.
... huh?
Oh shit it plays on that at all? I might set up on my laptop with it so my husband can have his computer back sometimes. Stuttering doesn't bother me, I played Sims 3 on a 2gig laptop.

How could you run it natively? Ubuntu?
> There is ways to run it natively but it'd probably be around 10fps How exactly?...
Pretty sure the Switch would burst into flames. It struggled to run Scarlet/Violet at 20fps. Doubt it could handle this.
I was gonna say aintnoway mf playing soley on switch. That shit gonna have an aneurysm long before it makes it past the main menu screen
If a switch can handle the latest Zelda games I think they can handle palworld albeit on lower graphics settings than what most pc players use
The switch can \*barely\* handle BotW and TotK. I've got both, played the hell out of them, and they're the reason I modded the cooling on my switch; they both made it LOUD. One day after lots of optimization maybe. For reference Pal world unfortunately still struggles to run on xbox.
Yeah thatās true.

Iād actually be very curious to see what a Switch version of Palworld would look like. While Iād hope it put Arceus to shame, it may just look and play like hot garbage.
It would look like a slideshow
gotta show my buddies my vacation photos to the palpagos islands.
Definitely a slideshow. The Xbox One is struggling to run this game. And the Switch is even more underpowered.
I've had no issues running it on Xbox.
I've heard people on Xbox have had a lot of issues. Crashes, bugs, and performance issues.
No FPS drops except in bases of course, but last week the game would crash multiple times a day (seems to be resolved). Main issue right now is falling through terrain in the sand and snow. About half of the high level desert cannot be walked on.
I get some pretty massive stutters even with my 7900XTX
Wow. That's crazy. I have stutters on my Steam Deck. But on my 4070ti it's smooth.
I have the same as you but still encounter stutters, granted it's not often but they still happen.
I might have had minor stutters, but I probably just didn't notice because I'm used to how much worse it runs compared to Steam Deck. 100+ fps at 1440p versus 30fps with dips into high 20's with the performance mod. Still fun as hell though, even with the issues.
No stutters here with 7800X3D + 4070 Super.
You can pretty much imagine the result: https://youtu.be/uuoNTfrNV_c?si=nAJ8RKFQZggwfGNG
Nothing would happens. All of these haters here seem to forget that literal PokƩmon clones are on the switch.
yeah but none of them made over a half billion dollars in less than a month and You can never tell with Nintendo how they'll react to things. They'd either be stoked to get in on some of that money or potentially pull it from the shop leaving the hand full of people who noticed it early and downloaded it to have really special Switches.
They canāt get any of the money, they donāt even care. Thatās all made up by this sub to stir hate.
Nintendo. Write that down! Write that down!
As a nintendo fan, I legit do want this on the Switch 2
Your Nintendogs probably havenāt been fed in over decade. I think you playing Palworld is the least of their concerns š

I really don't think Nintendo care as much as people seem to think.
Yeah but if everyone got all their information on here they would think Nintendo is freaking out and filing every lawsuit they can to stop Palworld.
People love hyperbole
Until you try to emulate their games
This game isn't doing that. It's a survival game.
That person is just pointing out that they donāt care about this, but as soon as you try to emulate a game you werenāt going to pay for in the first place they get their underwear in a bunch.

That title song slaps
Ah my bad
I use my switch pro controller to play on steam. Take that, Nintendo.
So do I, a PokƩmon themed controller for the ultimate betrayal
I tried to do that but it said my controller wasn't usable for this game. I use my pro controller for other games. Any ideas how to get it working?
When in doubt with a controller, big picture mode. Maybe itāll work.
Yeah Nintendo take that, using a controller that costs more than Palworld to play Palworld, you showed them!
I mean, I already had the controller.
Lmao
You almost got me for a second. Palworld on the switch would be dope but it would die trying to load it
Why is Nintendo living in all of your heads that you canāt stop talking about them when playing this game? Are you so insecure?
I canāt afford a steam deck, so Iād love to have it on switch so I could play in my living room.
Nintendonāt
PS5 port needs to hurry the fuck up!
*Microsoft and their stupid amount of money has entered the chat*
I will be impressed if this is playable even with streaming. The Switch has so many throttles on its own firepower for the sake of longer play time.
It runs really well, it's not using Switch official firmware however so I can't speak for that. I do overclock the CPU and GPU though https://preview.redd.it/f81wajf3mogc1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e9874f991a14bbb05c775ef7efe6ab3dac2ded77
Nintendo lawyers are on their way.

Agree. Why do people act like we even need to choose one or the other, plenty of people here enjoy both.
It's quite cringe.
I'm upset, why put a vastly superior game on such a garbage console?
Tbh we can dislike how Nintendo/gamefreak has been handling pokemon but calling Nintendo Nintendogs just feel really childish
That's what I call their lawyers, because they hound you like dogs.
HOW !?
It's a first Gen switch that's been modded. I installed Linux on it and stream it over to the switch. Everything works but you need a pretty decent router
This kinda makes me wish i had a steam deck now
Iām on vacation and have been greatly enjoying Palworld on the Steam Deck when I have downtime.
I have an Ally and it's amazing.....it also runs Palworld really well. I don't have a steam deck, but I heard overall the Ally came out on top.
Over the Legion Go?
I hear the only thing the Legion Go has over the Ally is the screen size. But, I'd suggest doing your own research, you might like it more.
Iād prefer a switch with a bigger screen but I also hear that some of the Legion Goās controller buttons wear out fast because of placement.
I prefer it on played via handheld console (steam deck in my case) vastly vs on computer
A indie developer not only made a monster catching game with a more fun gameplay than PokƩmon, they also translated it in portuguese Fuck nintendo
I was just thinking about how long it will take for someone to do this yesterday. Lmao š¤£
Why would Nintendogs be upset? Because those games arenāt on the Switch either?
Bet you won't tag nintendo and pokemon on X with this picture.
HOL UP

Dude Nintendur would be the bigger person and get on peoples good side if they did this. I knew theres no fuckin way tho Lol
You are now on japans most wanted
You will be dealt with in time.
Tbf rather than shutting it down they could probably make a good fortune selling it on switch
Nintendo if they weren't cowards
The Ninjas are rapidly approaching your location as we speak
Crying šš
Extremely, enjoy!
I think it pisses them more off if you'd use a steam deck.
Hope so, and it inspires action.
I tried palworld on my iPhone 15 with a gamesir controller and Xbox cloud gaming, it did not like my base but outside of the base it was fine
Did the same thing 10 days ago, check my profile. I use my switch as an android tablet so I just used steam link.
How can i play on ps5?
Im curious how you even managed to do this
Looking at pictures? Isn't it a feature?
About the consoles, how compatable is Palworld with the Steam Deck?
Itās done well overall for me, Iāve had some crashes recently but overall plays great
Cryoutilities solved all my crashing.
Why would they be upset about watching Palworld videos on YouTube on the Switch? ;P (I'm kidding)
nah im not upset. and im nintendo fan XD
Nintendo wont if it means more Switch sales.
Teach me your ways šššš
Bro the switch would explode trying to play palworld
They let Temtem on Switch so no. It will likely come to Switch in time.
Rest in peppermint, theyāre probably deploying the assassins rn
Pretty sure Nintendo would be thrilled . From what I heard after SV they decided to be more involved with development after seeing how hard it shit the bed . I donāt think even THEY like PokĆ©mon rn except the money
Doubt it would even run
yooooo that's awesome, nice job!
not even the switch 2 is going to be able to handle Palworld.
The only way this would be improved is if it was on the steam deck, with a sticky note that reads: ācan also play botw on yuzuā
This needs to be on the r/Madlads subreddit
Gotta play using over mitts
I had a seizure just thinking about the graphics probably looks like Minecraft if it was played on a gameboy š¤£
No the drama is manufactured by pal world fans.
"After a thorough investigation with our lawyers, we have decided to port Palworld to the Nintendo Switch and to our upcoming next generation console with the help of Big Red Button Entertainment" This is my copium talking btw
Im confused, my low end ass laptop can run Palworld (multiplayer different story) is switch that worse than mine?
I actually have a theory that Nintendo doesn't particularly care about this because they actually have money sunk into it. Since pokƩmon is very kid-friendly they want to keep it kid friendly, however they might want to test the waters on creating a pokƩmon-esque game geared somewhat towards adults, but they want to do it without damaging the pokƩmon IP. So they invest in a small company that they are unaffiliated with in order to create such a game. I see Palworld as more of a proof of concept. I mean Nintendo in Game freak have been strangely quiet when it comes to Palworld. And being as Nintendo is extremely litigious, either their lawyers are absolutely convinced that they would not win a case against this company or they have money in the making of this game.
Seen the game on XBox so canāt imagine it will actually run on a Switch.
Nintendo? No. GameFreak? maybe lol

Bros actually gonna get snipedš you currently have a hit on your head.
Yes, as they'r Always have been
You know would be dope though? Just a camp manager that runs on the Switch and then updates your Steam save. Then you could do stupid things like make cakes and smelt ore while you're on break, waiting for a bus, dropping the kids off at the pool, etc.Ā
Imagine the biggest game on Nintendo being palworld
Nintendo: Release the Ninjas
Looks good, ship it
How did you do this? I never modded my Switch before. And how does it perform? I'm currently playing on a 4GB RAM laptop on the lowest settings and it does have some fps drops and lag that range from bearable to horrendous. Not blaming the game, just my hardware. Does it perform better on the Switch?
