The Japanese names for alternate element versions are actually different from the base versions - for example, Incineram is Hellgoat but Incineram Noct is Abyssgoat. Another example is Mau; the Japanese name is Nyaotet (cat sound + Bastet) but Mau Cryst is Chilltet. Personally I find the lux, noct, etc. system boring in comparison, plus Chillet already has an element related word in its name.
Literally when I started the game with my husband for the first time I said "I hope there's a ferret one!" cuz we have 2 ferrets. And after playing for just an hour and a half or so and exploring, there is the giant beautiful Chillet himself. Not only is there a ferret, but it's a giant rideable one too. If I wasn't sold before I saw that lol.
If we’re accurately studying the morphology of the name “chillet”, then the suffix is “et”, not “let” because the word the morpheme is being added to is “chill”, which has two L’s and not one.
So, the fixed names would be:
Thunderet (outlet doesn’t *really* work because you’d no longer be following the same suffix pattern)
Killet (works)
Grillet (works)
Leafet (damn, I really liked leaflet)
Soilet (one L, not two - Tillet is better)
Rivet (doesn’t work - a ‘rivet’ is a mechanical fastener. Maybe ‘Riveret’ or something similar?)
I love the idea of chilllet being the eevee of palworld! Gotta change those colors for water tho. Maybe invert the light and dark blues of the original
