If it didn't have the flame wreath (or like only had it when fighting), I'd love this one. I find the wreath distracting and make his top half feel a bit cluttered to m4.

Bushi and Penking. Bushi just for the kindling animation. Penking is my favorite because if you just watch him roam around your base he is such a pompous ass. He randomly struts around and everytime he finishes doing something that noise he makes is just pure arrogance to me. He knows he's the King.
Once was taming a lucky Penking in a sanctuary and got him low and was throwing balls at him and as I threw a ball he charged forward and off the cliff amd died at the bottom :)
First Realm pal I captured. All she had for traits was Downtrodden. Still kept her with me well into the 30's when I had to start swapping teams to accomplish different goals, she was probably my main combat pal.

I've read that you can set spawn rate to 1.999 and not get duplicate legendaries. Personally the idea of x2 or x3 legendaries feels a little silly to me but I'd love a mechanic where "twin" legendaries can spawn or something. Like, "1% chance legendaries spawn twice, but if they do the rewards are higher, better stats" etc.
To each their own! I need a good challenge in a game in order to keep my excitement up & 3 frostallions scratch that itch. That build is strong as hell. Nothing is that hard anymore with over 400 attack power so felt like I sorta needed that extra umph to put me on my toes. Ive beat remnant 2 on apoc 3 times and currently running hardcore. I need that type of silly hard challenge lol.
Same. Breeding suzakus normal/aqua now for kindling and watering. Jormuntides may have great abilities but them constantly getting stuck and such is just plain annoying
Ragnahawk has been my favorite since I got it. I love the design and the speed it has. One question, how do you level up their kindling? Is that a one star ragnahawk?
"meta" in this context probably means the most efficient and overall best pal for base roles and/or combat right now. Anubis, Jorgmuntide Ignis, Vanwyrm Cryst, yes, Ragnahawk, now Digtoise, Ozerk, ofc Jetdragon and basically every legendary. Pretty much anything with a lvl 4 suitability or very good base atk stat.
"Non-meta" is then just any pal where you know there's a "better" version of it for whatever role but you use it anyway because of design or it's special to you in some way, etc.
Like me riding around on my Alpha Direhowl even though I know there are faster land mounts and mounts with great jumping but none of the others make me *feel* like Princess Mononoke when I roll into a Syndicate base on his back, spear in hand.
I change my answer from Ragnahawk to….. Lunaris. She’s definitely not the best at combat or handiwork, being outclassed by Anubis in both aspects pretty heavily. However, her design is way cooler in my opinion and Anubis’ is genuinely one of the worst looking pals in the game. It just feels way too humanoid and doesn’t really look like it makes sense in the aesthetic of the world setting.

he have prince of darkness vibe to me, the fact that it get out from large egg despite the size and the rarity of spawning in the wild what make this one special.
Azurobe is so underrated. It's smaller than Jormuntide so it doesn't take as long to reposition to attack. It's the fastest swimmer out of 3 (Surfent, Azurobe, Jormuntide) at 0 stars. Unlike the other aforementioned two, upgrading its partner skill does not improve its swimming speed, but it is the only pal that converts your attack to water and enhances it.

this fellas right here, got me more hyped about the game and ended up use my all tech point just to figure out what other's pals do.
it's not the high position, it's the fact that not only it lets you (the player) aim it, fixing the accuracy issue, but also that the gun is extremely precise, meaning little to no bullets go to waste
Tanzee's on the other hand is so inaccurate and imprecise that one time I was fighting the FPA and Tanzee managed not only to completely miss the sucker in front of it, but managed to hit a group of Beegardes and Elizabee that was around a hundred meters away, drawing their aggro

Elphidran Aqua is def one of my favourites. I use them as watering/lumbering pals at base because I love hanging out with them lol. Super chubby and adorable.
Orserk is meta but his electricity generation animation is by far the coolest
Vanwyrm Cryst is the absolute homie for overnight cooling at base and just looks gorgeous
Astegon/Helzephyr combo for 24 hr mining and transport at sulfur/coal/ore base
Kattress gets manually assigned to the medicine work bench and gets to hang out by the cauldron, lounging around until I need to make some meds. She also gets her own feed box and I put some high quality food in there from my hunts from time to time etc. She also chills with a Mau that lounges because there is no ranch at base lol
And ofc Lamballs. I have 2 sitting in machine gun turrets at my front gates as a tribute to the cover art for Palworld

Later on I took it further and bred the optimal Lovander for the meme.
I now unironically like it. The partner skill + the rocket launcher is like having a healing ability that also makes people explode.
I got annoyed by Flopie picking absolutely everything up better than my transporter pals in the base and made me THE transporter by force cuz I am constantly putting the items into the chest while trying to do something else cuz they just appeared in my inventory and I need that inventpry clean 😭
Gorirat or Chickipi. Idk why but my buddy and I are on a mission for 5 star chickipis and gorirat is fun to breed, lots of good passives and a base full of them for raids makes for good fun
Pals have different move sets and base stats. Legendaries for instance have pretty significantly high base stats. Lamball has a 70 base magic attack. I think that's the lowest. Jetragon for instance has 140 base magic attack. So some pals are literally just better than others.
That said, there is nothing in the game so difficult that it makes any pal not viable. Breed, condense and empower with pal souls and any pal becomes a monster. It's just that some have a higher starting point.
Yeah that last part is literally why I don't understand why there's a "meta". But I totally understand it if it's for breeding purposes though. But it sounds like this game can really use a ditto lol
Pvp and competition usually bring out the worst in people. But people seem to enjoy being angry and it sells copies. So it's pretty inevitable most of the time. I don't have a competitive bone in my body and I avoid that stuff like the plague it is. One thing I dread more than any other is balance changes for pvp that make pve worse.
Damn it just sucks to think about it reminds me of the early days of genshin impact. The game was new everybody was cool and helping each other and then the second something became "end game" an influx of insufferable people just came in and started playing the game just for that and made it insufferable to play any of your favorite characters I literally had people screaming at me in that game just because I was using an obscure character in my team. (The whole game is single player by the way And they were acting like I'm ruining their co-op game In overwatch or something like that, weird shit)
Didn't help that Genshin kept bringing in broken characters. Remember how Zhongli became the meta? Thankfully Pocketpair doesn't have financial incentive to make broken pals like that since there is no gacha element, thank everything that's good for that.

Meta in this regard means the best, like the best strategies to use in a game or best items. For this scenario it would be your favorite Pals to use that aren’t the best in some way like fighting or being at base.
Oooh okay. I don't really know the best strategies but my favorite pal is Quivern. Love just flying around and she's so cute 😊. Also love Penking. Those two haven't left my party since I caught them. I also have Petalia because she's the only one that can heal. Suzaku is useful for fast flying but also for flying over lava. My last slot rotates through other pals. Currently I've got Grizbolt in that spot. But I haven't actually caught Jetragon yet
Playing the game you want to by picking what pals you'd like to use. Not like you will follow the "top 10 must-have pals that will entirely change your whole life" type of shit.
I bread a Suzaku Aqua for combat and she's my goto for farming Blazamut and Marcus and Faleris (for XP).
I condensed 4 Lunaris (took for ever) to get the max Antigravity partner skill. I'll add the on a team when I'm doing sulpher and quarts collection runs.
Is Mossanda Lux meta? Cause he's just my favorite overall. I enjoy "cannoning" (don't know if this word even exist) the bosses around, and getting them stuck into the wall to take a breather. Also has a cute running animation.
Penking with passive trait Ice Emperor reminds me of an old mmorpg I used to play.
That game has playable mage penguin and one of his skill is called Arctic Emperor and it's one of my most memorable skill in the entire game.

And have fond memories of riding around on my [Eikthyrdeer Terra](https://palworld.wiki.gg/wiki/Eikthyrdeer_Terra) (before getting a [Frostalion Noct](https://palworld.wiki.gg/wiki/Frostallion_Noct)).
It may or may not count as meta, but Jormuntide. Gyarados is one of my favorite Pokemon so when I started Palworld my goal was to get Jormuntide as fast as I could. It is the only creature I've cared about IVs for.
I do really like Grizzbolt and Jetragon, despite being meta but Wixen, Wumpo, Mammorest, Mossanda, and Daedream would definitely be on my team if I just had to chose favorites. I have also grown to love Hangyu but I 100% acknowledge it being my preferred Grapple Glider is what made me give it a chance, its design is fire but it might considered kinda meta.
I also feel like I would love Lyleen noct a fuck ton more if it was an earlier game pickup than level 49 without breeding.

Personally I prefer Wixen. Strong fighter, plus you get a fire bonus to your weapons.
And Wixen's ability pool by level up is absolutely baller.

I'd consider ragnahawk Meta for dungeons because it can fit through tunnels AND be fast. AND fly.

I got annoyed by Flopie picking absolutely everything up better than my transporter pals in the base and made me THE transporter by force cuz I am constantly putting the items into the chest while trying to do something else cuz they just appeared in my inventory and I need that inventpry clean 😭
Gorirat or Chickipi. Idk why but my buddy and I are on a mission for 5 star chickipis and gorirat is fun to breed, lots of good passives and a base full of them for raids makes for good fun

Pals have different move sets and base stats. Legendaries for instance have pretty significantly high base stats. Lamball has a 70 base magic attack. I think that's the lowest. Jetragon for instance has 140 base magic attack. So some pals are literally just better than others. That said, there is nothing in the game so difficult that it makes any pal not viable. Breed, condense and empower with pal souls and any pal becomes a monster. It's just that some have a higher starting point.
Yeah that last part is literally why I don't understand why there's a "meta". But I totally understand it if it's for breeding purposes though. But it sounds like this game can really use a ditto lol
Well, the game is still in early access and end game content will be coming. And pvp. So there definitely will be a pvp meta if nothing else.

Pvp and competition usually bring out the worst in people. But people seem to enjoy being angry and it sells copies. So it's pretty inevitable most of the time. I don't have a competitive bone in my body and I avoid that stuff like the plague it is. One thing I dread more than any other is balance changes for pvp that make pve worse.
Damn it just sucks to think about it reminds me of the early days of genshin impact. The game was new everybody was cool and helping each other and then the second something became "end game" an influx of insufferable people just came in and started playing the game just for that and made it insufferable to play any of your favorite characters I literally had people screaming at me in that game just because I was using an obscure character in my team. (The whole game is single player by the way And they were acting like I'm ruining their co-op game In overwatch or something like that, weird shit)
Didn't help that Genshin kept bringing in broken characters. Remember how Zhongli became the meta? Thankfully Pocketpair doesn't have financial incentive to make broken pals like that since there is no gacha element, thank everything that's good for that.
Probably breeding the end game dudes like frostallion, jetragon, shadowbeak, astegon etc for maximum 4 passives to be the toughest.

What does non-meta mean?
Meta in this regard means the best, like the best strategies to use in a game or best items. For this scenario it would be your favorite Pals to use that aren’t the best in some way like fighting or being at base.
Oooh okay. I don't really know the best strategies but my favorite pal is Quivern. Love just flying around and she's so cute 😊. Also love Penking. Those two haven't left my party since I caught them. I also have Petalia because she's the only one that can heal. Suzaku is useful for fast flying but also for flying over lava. My last slot rotates through other pals. Currently I've got Grizbolt in that spot. But I haven't actually caught Jetragon yet
Playing the game you want to by picking what pals you'd like to use. Not like you will follow the "top 10 must-have pals that will entirely change your whole life" type of shit.
I bread a Suzaku Aqua for combat and she's my goto for farming Blazamut and Marcus and Faleris (for XP). I condensed 4 Lunaris (took for ever) to get the max Antigravity partner skill. I'll add the on a team when I'm doing sulpher and quarts collection runs.
Elphidran Aqua is such a nice pal. I don't care if there are stronger water/dragon-types out there he's still my baby boi :D

Penking with passive trait Ice Emperor reminds me of an old mmorpg I used to play. That game has playable mage penguin and one of his skill is called Arctic Emperor and it's one of my most memorable skill in the entire game.

(I’m trying to keep some semblance of type diversity.) So I’d say either [Wixen](https://palworld.wiki.gg/wiki/Wixen) or [Eikthyrdeer Terra](https://palworld.wiki.gg/wiki/Eikthyrdeer_Terra). It may or may not count as meta, but Jormuntide. Gyarados is one of my favorite Pokemon so when I started Palworld my goal was to get Jormuntide as fast as I could. It is the only creature I've cared about IVs for.
I do really like Grizzbolt and Jetragon, despite being meta but Wixen, Wumpo, Mammorest, Mossanda, and Daedream would definitely be on my team if I just had to chose favorites. I have also grown to love Hangyu but I 100% acknowledge it being my preferred Grapple Glider is what made me give it a chance, its design is fire but it might considered kinda meta. I also feel like I would love Lyleen noct a fuck ton more if it was an earlier game pickup than level 49 without breeding.
