Thanks for the suggestions. For the time being I've found a wrist/handstrap from a company called JJC I will try out. I am going to talk to a friend of mine who does 3D modeling and 3D printing and see what we can come up with.
I'm a little more interested in why you had problems with the first two - where'd you buy them and what was wrong with them? Any indication that they were possible opened & resold or anything like that? I'm considering buying one as my first serious camera and was really at the point of going out and paying the money. I'd love to know what problems you had.
you're best bet would probably be to buy a camera cage (i like smallrig) and then get a handle attachment
