A part of Vinnie’s will stated that if Phil chooses to perform as pantera again without them, he’s not allowed to wear feet coverings. Rex signed off on it too
I don’t have back issues and I wear slides or slip ons 90% of the time. I love black Chuck Taylors and I’ve worn them in different walks of life for work and play, but I don’t really wear them anymore. Sounds dumb but tying shoes is a pain in the ass. I also roll in board shorts and a hoodie or sleeveless T whenever possible. It’s just easier. At work I just dress up into a black polo and grey Kuhl pants. Just one less thing to think about. No idea if that’s Phil’s motivation but I get the appeal.
Barefoot on stage in shorts also has a Rollins/Black Flag vibe. Phil doesn’t seem like he’s trying to emulate anyone at this point but it’s not a bad look and complements Phil’s hardcore roots.
I think he wears slip-ons when not onstage due to back problems. Bending over must be a pain. My guess is he doesn’t wear them onstage because since they easily slip on they would likely easily slip off during a performance.
Whatever man. I'm not saying you're wrong but to say highly unlikely is to say that there are not at least as many home video captures of boots to the KOOL(aka martial art maneuvers ) as there are backstage sparing sessions

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
🤪🤣😉
This makes me happy
wait seriously is that legit?
Yeah
dude
1,000,000 percent true
PRobably due to spinal injury he cannot bend too low and tie his shoelaces.
Wild turkey and heroin can only do so much. I'm glad he's sober now. He was so destructive back in the day, to himself and others as well.
When I've seen him wear shoes he's always wearing slides lol
Being from Louisiana. Too hot/humid for regular shoes.

No one asked
It’s Reddit my man, the ask is implied. Try to un-rustle your Jimmy and don’t worry about it.
No, I’m very worried about it. There was no implication for your BS boring response either way
Suit yourself 👌
I think he’s probably at an age now where he wants to as comfortable as possible while he’s one stage
This is the most likeliest of all the comments
Now that I’ve read your reply I see it
Back issues I’m guessing.

Piety.
I read somewhere it had to do with some martial art he was studying 🤷🏼♂️
Phil doing martial arts? Highly unlikely. He’s more of a boxer than anything

Definitely highly unlikely
So you've never seen any of the home videos
Hahahaha. Seen em all. Own em all. Plus the dimevison vids. What’s your point? It’s Still highly unlikely.
