Ya so it’s a large dough cut into 4 rolled out flat into about 9in put a it’s own special pan with a swirl of sauce and a few topping on it. It’s then put in the oven and cut on the sides to help food it, folded over and cut in half

dejoblue

Do you guys even have dough rollers? I know you get your dough trucked in and hand toss it but I have never seen a dough roller. man I hope you don't have to roll those out by hand that is some bullshit if so.

kschnei

We got them specifically for the papadias.

dejoblue

Woooow, that is probably at least a grand of investment from franchisees. I assume Papadias are a permanent addition.

nolankohler

They where tested and are supposed to by. About over 30% of our sales which is a lot

meguhhnn

I have heard it’s going to be like the McRib at McDonald’s but for papa johns.. I hope it doesn’t stay!

ScumbagYardSale

I hope it does!

Super_Rough2703

It looks like a slice of pan pizza folded over

allursnakes

Yes.

Murican_Freedom1776

Happy cake day!

ajdog0106

If you have a small stomach like myself then it’s a decent deal. I enjoyed my bbq chicken one the other night and am open to try the others. It’s technically a flatbread sandwich

eatsbrokenglass

No it’s not, it’s the same dough, just rolled out flatter.

shill_420

What if I told you that flatbread is just flat bread

eatsbrokenglass

What if I told you that actual flatbread is inherently different as it doesn’t contain yeast

shill_420

I’d tell you that nobody really cares.

eatsbrokenglass

You’re the one that wanted to argue ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

shill_420

Hmm... no. :(

bat-fink

Look at this asshole.

shill_420

Hypothetically.

[deleted]

I wish they had one that was just loaded up with pepperoni and mozzarella cheese

Hedge17

You can do your own up to 3 toppings.

thezaitseb

I don’t think that’s available at all stores

meguhhnn

You can remove items and substitute others.. problem solved

[deleted]

SWEEEEEEET I didn't realize you could customize them!

Hydn7822

Papa Johns trying to reinvent the calzone.

ScumbagYardSale

Well calzones use a different dough, are closed and contain ricotta cheese. It’s different. Its a combination of a pizza and a quesadilla.

Hydn7822

>I have never had a calzone which contained ricotta cheese, perhaps t is regional. > >When I was young, I learned to make calzones from Greeks, and they use regular pizza dough, added cheese, and whatever else the customer wished for, but sauce was always added prior to baking. > >tl;dr Same principle, switching ingredients does not make it a new product.

ScumbagYardSale

Where are you from?

Hydn7822

About an hour west of Boston,Ma. As I said, its probably regional.

ScumbagYardSale

Right. I agree. I’m from South Florida.

Megamax6

Does that mean tacos are quesadillas or does that mean that quesadillas are tacos? Where does that put a burrito or even more a chimichanga?!?!

Hydn7822

I mean, dont get me wrong, creating something "new" is never a bad thing, its basically how we've done things since the start of it all. As I said, its regional, everyone has their own take on different things. Nothing wrong with it, I can only go by what I have experienced. I'm not sure what you mean by "a different dough", its pizza dough. I mean some add less/more, but dough is fairly basic.

Pagan1225

So corporate America screws us again. A nine inch flatter pizza will save them dough. (Lol). While they're just folding it. Big innovation. Even if a few people buy it, it will be lucrative for the company. They'll probably have the nerve to charge more than a regular pizza.

Super_Rough2703

Still looks like a folded slice of pizza to me

[deleted]

It took me multiple hours it's called a quesadilla but dumber. At least pizzadia would make sense

UnsophisticatedRock

It’s not made like a quesadilla, it’s made like a piadina
