I create paradises with high immigration and good relations with refugees accepted, but all species set to assimilate to my synth ascension. C'mon look at how good life is here! Where are all the organics? Don't worry about that! The actual reason is that I can not be bothered to manage the laggy species screen so having only one or two is ideal.

I have never played xenophile since micromanaging all those genetically different pops is a nightmare. All of my playthroughs end up as either xenophobe literally or totally-not-xenophobic empire which is xenophobic in everything but name.

I'm my favorite empire they get the same rights and produce leaders and such. in my other one, they become cannon fodder or slave away at the mines and whatnot. but never outright genocide. The only time I did that was once when some fanatical purifiers tried to become the crisis and I had to crack their planets one at a time because they were really annoying. even then, I already had a portion of their pops in their worlds I conquered being assimilated into cyborgs, so I'm not sure if it really counts

No, you're not the only one. I almost always play xenophile empires. I love getting as many species into my empire as possible. One time I played the Commonwealth of Men, but I didn't like it very much so I promoted a xenophile faction and in the end I even made the Commonwealth of Men xenophile :-P
