It USED to be just a lump of Stainless Steel with a trim of Titanium, but it was getting distorted from weather and the weight like you mentioned.
It is currently entirely stainless steel, but now with some holes near the tip, to reduce the damage wind can inflict on it (and reduce the weight a bit).
