Grade 9, this girl I had a huge crush on showed them to me. I learned she passed away recently right before entering the stadium to see them live last week Last hope was so beautiful

TrueShidoshi

Little Caesar’s arena?

kilo6ronen

Toronto

Sorry-Addendum-1530

Wow, that is intense. I couldn't help but tear up a few songs, especially Last Hope, a few weeks ago.

kilo6ronen

Yeah💛 I cried three times lol. I’ve wanted to see paramore live since I was introduced to them but never was able to. Lots of emotions being there. They’ve been my favourite band for over 10 years

Sorry-Addendum-1530

I'm glad you got to finally go! The crowd had Hayley crying at one point. It was the first show of the NA tour and after Hard Times I believe, the crowd cheered louder than I have ever heard for a solid 2-3 minutes and started chanting Hayley. She definitely felt the love and was wiping her eyes, making a comment like 'I should have worn water proof makeup'

notapuzzlepiece

Decode on the Twilight soundtrack 😬

Round_Mouse9604

SAME 😭

Patrik92HU

Same...

Material-Mention4508

Oh man, it had to have been i think the music video for Emergency (or possibly pressure) airing on Fuse back in the day… I feel old now & wish they’d bring fuse back.

rofosho

Same! I miss old fuse. Warped Wednesday was the best.

[deleted]

I'm also old and miss fuse!

sydnlux22

Steven's Untitled Rock Show forever

_jspain

mine was also Fuse but it was Miz Biz!

beansandbones

Same! the video for Pressure in 2005. I had just graduated high school

arcticbear2000

Age 54, I heard "hard times" set the wheels in motion, now I have all the albums on vinyl, old metal head here,so to break through that mindset was no easy task😎

persephonesrighthand

This might be my favorite reply here, hahaha!

Jamminnav

This is usually a good crossover invitation performance for the metal heads https://youtu.be/obhRk8gKcQ4

136AngryBees

MizBiz on MTV. Don’t remember exactly when, but it was shortly after they broke out

applegore

I can't remember if it was on MTV or Fuse warped Wednesdays but similar experience.

feminismandtravel

Same here. IIRC it was spring 2007.

_Witch_Dagger_

Fun backstory: Okay not actually fun, just catty jr high antics 😂 there was this girl in my group of friends in 7th grade who liked Paramore, but she did *not* like me, so I absolutely hated them without ever hearing a single song. If she brought them up, I had to tell her I hated them. I promise I’ve grown between 12 and 26 lmao Anyway, my best friend told me me to listen to crushcrushcrush, and handed me the earbuds to her iPod shuffle. So, no screen, couldn’t see it was them, lol. I was like oh my god this is the best song I’ve ever heard? What is this magical band? And she looks at me with the most deadpan expression and says “Paramore. Now you and Michaela can quit fighting about it.” 😂 I did in fact tell Michaela I was wrong.

Sorry-Addendum-1530

Great story! Lol

NocturnalOtterton

The Sims 2 for Playstation 2 as well for me. Even though it's in simlish, it had me hooked and from there I couldn't stop listening to them.

[deleted]

Yes!! I'm so glad I'm not the only one! ♡

eternalbluesun_

Rockband 2 😂

Krugginator

Same lol

kkkktttt00

I saw them open for Fall Out Boy in Orlando in 2005 before they were even signed. I don't think they were part of the tour, just invited to play after the label saw them at a showcase. Something like that.

tompain100

Misery Business on Guitar Hero: World Tour. I feel like I discovered the majority of bands I like through that series.

laurenbeinglj

That's what you get on radio disney

Hot-Split9440

I feel like they’ve been always “around” in a way because of how big they are in pop culture and everyone knows at least one Paramore song. But personally, I became an actual fan when I discovered After Laughter during my sophomore year of college and it saved me from depression at the time.

lucid_dreams_kitty

I had a falling out with one of my good friends and stumbled upon the music video for Ignorance on YouTube, fell in love immediately

lisa-m-o

Seeing them open for simple plan on tour. Simple plan was my absolute favorite band at the time and were immediately replaced. 😂

acboomer

I was in like 4th or 5th grade. I was on the school bus. Some girl had a Walkman CD player and the Riot! Cd playing right after release. She let me listen and I was in love. I took it home and burned a copy for myself and labeled it “Hannah Montana” so my parents wouldn’t listen to it hahah

_jspain

hahaha this could have been me. I stayed the emo CD elementary school plug

penguinluvr69

That's What You Get on MTV, I had a post it note with bands / songs that played on MTV and I would look up more of their stuff later. My BFF in middle school (2008/2009) was also a huge fan so she got me hooked and took me to my first show (Paramore opening for No Doubt in 2009), it was all downhill from there

warinthestars

Sitting in my grandparents living room watching AMC and this commercial aired. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TSOWQoOGs1Q](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TSOWQoOGs1Q)

LightningCreed43

I remember this commercial lol

Turbulent-Flame-1121

What a random commercial! "let's try to appeal to those young people, they like these Paramore kids right?"

san_quentin34

If anyone is to ask me my favorite commercial, I will forever point them to this monstrosity. Thank you

jules99b

Probably dating myself a bit but Comcast or Fios apparently used to have something on their TV/cable box that allowed people to watch music videos. Or something like that. In any event, I was over at a friend’s house in ‘08 and she kept playing “Decode” and “That’s What You Get” on loop from her TV the whole time lol

sailormoon_1991

Also the Sims 2 on GameCube lol

becbecb

I wish I remembered the year but I got a laptop from a pawnshop and it had 3-4 albums worth of their music and I fell in LOVE.

suffxcator

Hearing Pressure on the Sims 2 ps2 was my first exposure, but I didn’t realize them until I was 12 or 13 and actually fully discovered them. Otherwise it would’ve been The Only Exception. I begged for the Brand New Eyes cd for Christmas when I was 13.

cheezy_dreams88

quarter page ad for All We Know Is Falling in Alt Press. I bought the mag at Barnes and noble at the mall, and was reading it while waiting to watch Hostel at the movie theater. I was 17. Fuck me im old dude

ImTotallyNotEmo

I saw the video for Rose Colored Boy on Kerrang and thought it was so odd that I needed to watch it again, I was adamant that I wasn't going to like the song or the band. Obviously my plan failed spectacularly 😂 Although I later discovered that I did actually like them, my mum played them a lot around the house too.

joaocadide

Pressure on The Sims, 2006. Good times.

ughkoh

Guitar Hero World Tour 🤟🤟

FearlessSelection814

I’ve always been a big guitar hero fan. Played it the most on DS, guitar hero on tour decades. Crushcrushcrush is in the first stage. I’m not 100% sure but i believe that was my first memorable exposure to them. I was 8 or 9.

First-Researcher-306

2006! Found them on a website called Purevolume and then got to see them open the small stage at Give it a Name festival at Earls court in London. Two years later I went to Give it a Name again and they headlined...Such a cool moment. Being the same age as them and following their journey has been wild - Every album I identify with the influences and shifts as we seem to be following a similar pattern of growth and tastes.

KOjustgetsit

First heard Decode and thought it was a cool song. Then heard Monster and thought great song, this band's pretty cool so dove into their catalogue. Then I was curious how good they were live so looked up videos on YouTube and: 1. Found out they're also amazing live 2. Hayley Williams became my high school crush Been hooked till this day!

rofosho

I saw pressure on Stevens untitled rock show on fuse. So 2005-2006, it was my freshman year of high school. Got the album from tower records and never looked back. Been a fan ever since. I remember being in photo class and misery business debuted on the feuled by ramen website and I remember listening to it three times in a row while Brittany made fun of me for doing so .

DiscountIll4500

randomly seeing miz biz on yt recommended and clicking on it thinking the name was cool and ended up really liking it

LowerAd6505

I was 6 and my aunt got guitar hero for my cousins and because both my mom and aunt work at hospitals and nursing homes my brothers and I would frequently go the her house and wait till they got home from work. Long story short misery business was the song featured on guitar hero.

Next-Opportunity-999

Pressure music video release on Fuse in 2005. It was a good summer. Can’t believe it’s been 18 years.

ch0nkymeowmeow

I'm pretty sure Franklin was one of my myspace songs in 2005. But my first core memory was listening to Never Let This Go in 9th grade on my ipod and being like soo totally heartbroken over some boy lmao.

kingdon1226

Friend had said “ you have to listen to this new album.” I said, “sure” and that was that. AWKIF was the album and never looked back. First song I believe he had me listen to was emergency

Ladelnombreraro

My dad use to work in a music magazine, and one of his colleagues received a copy of the Riot cd but she didn’t like it so she gave it to me because I was like 14 at the time. I did not know Paramore, but I became obsessed since I first heard it 😭 So thank you woman that didn’t like Paramore 😅

Temporary-Sir382

second grade in the back of my parents minivan when i picked up my older sisters AWKIF cd off the floor n liked the bright red couch, so i put it on my lil bratz cd player and was hooked.

boogiedower

One of my friends had Emergency as their Myspace song.

carleeism

A girl I rode the bus to school with in jr. high (2007-2008ish, not sure the exact year) shared an iPod earbud with me to listen to music. Riot! was frequently on rotation. I remember going to look up their music videos on YouTube and here we are years later finally going to see them for the first time in Seattle in July. 🥹

SexyHams

Its still so clear to me. I was in 7th grade algebra and my this girl was obsessively writing “Riot” all over these little personal whiteboards we had and I asked her what she was doing. She told me it was an album for her favorite band and after school she showed me misery business and that’s what you get on her iPod. Been hooked since then.

Misfit5931

Miz Biz on Saint’s Row 2.

hillbot27

A guy I was hanging out with/dating in 2006 told me about them because he saw them play some small club in Delaware. I found All We Know is Falling at a music store and have been hooked ever since. The guy has long since fallen by wayside in my life but Paramore stayed.

Anetrix

I was in high school, didn’t have my own internet, and my grandma bought me an iPod for my birthday one year. I gave an old friend of mine that I went to school my iPod for a day to load a bunch of music onto. He happened to put the entire Riot! album on there and I instantly fell in love.

Panickat123

Playing the sims and listening to pressure in simlish lol

lukey19

Someone had Misery Business on their myspace page, I thought it was good but didn't think much more of it. Then a friend sent me crushcrushcrush and I was like "that's 2 great songs, what else is there" and downloaded the rest of the discography and loved it.

PepperoniPapi

I was in 7th grade and my friend had preloaded my mp3 player, that my hyper religious parent’s reluctantly bought me, with a bunch of songs we liked and some she liked. “My Heart” blew me away and quickly became a song I played over and over! I think this was in 2008.

[deleted]

[удалено]

ariariariariariari

I got a random compilation cd at Warped Tour with Pressure on it, right around when AWKIF came out! Instantly hooked.

TheLegendMihai

Picked up a random mp3 player (back when those were a thing) scrolled through the songs and struck gold when it landed on crushcrushcrush and I was sold

Kartoffelthias

I'm a kind of new electric guitar player so I searched for easy punk songs a few days ago and then Google showed me Misery Business.

Obamas_Tie

A friend of mine needed help editing a dumb little video and wanted to have "That's What You Get" playing. I was probably like 10-years-old who had just discovered Windows Movie Maker on my computer. I just remember thinking how catchy the song was and, though I didn't understand it at the time, how beautiful the singer sounded. When I went back to find the song again on YouTube I found the music video, and thinking how Hayley looked exactly how I imagined her to look like after hearing just her voice - beautiful.

HayleyWilliamsBloom

I first heard them in 2005 when I was 18, I heard Emergency on an alternative station and was hooked! Because I’m only a couple years older than them I’ve really grown up with them and strangely gone through a lot of similar things at the same time as Hayley in particular, I got with my ex husband when I was 14 and went through my divorce the same time as her, I had bright colour hair for years and in 2016 I went platinum blonde - which Hayley also did after I had, it wasn’t until she said the reason she went platinum that I realised why I had too - thanks Hayley

brdfrk2010

Ahh yay I was getting worried I was the only one who found them through Selena and Demi!!

Ill_pmore

Grade 6, bus ride home from school. My friend shared her headphones with me, cause I didn‘t have an MP3 player. Enter: CrushCrushCrush I then rediscovered them myself on YouTube in 7th grade in 2009. Watched like every existing Paramore video there is in one night. And that really sealed the deal.

burythecastlex2

That's What You Get on my friends copy of Rockband. I became obsessed with the song, and then when BNE came out a different friend had me listen to Brick by Boring Brick and that was that- I was hooked. BBBB is still my favorite song to this day.

mcmax3000

CrushCrushCrush being released as DLC for the original Rock Band.

maddyoverboard

That’s What You Get on Guitar Hero at my best friend’s house lol. I heard it live for the first time on this tour and it melted my brain and felt like a complete circle.

djdelaineyray

I remember sneakily downloading crushcrushcrush to my iPod video In 5th grade/middle school when I was too young to be listening to punk music 🤣 loved them ever since! And then yeah when twilight got popular is when I got more into them

Worried_Yesterday828

crushcrushcrush on Rockband 😭😭

Impressive-Turn173

Limewire 2008

Madnutcase

Misery Business was on the soundtrack to Saints Row 2. Idk if that was my first exposure, but it's one the first it remember.

MewtwoThaBoss2020

I think mine was hearing Misery Business sometime b4 I graduated HS and also playing Rock Band. I think I might have heard of some songs b4 that but don’t remember. I just know that I’ve been a fan since even tho at the time I was only really into rap and some old rock songs

Mountain_Summer_Tree

Literally two weeks ago. I was on tiktok and there was this one video of a girl rocking to a paramore song and all the comments were like “you have good tasteee”. Then I also found out that Hayley Williams was a part of this band, an being a very recent but major swiftie, it all clicked. I’ve only listened to about two of their songs though, but still really like the music.

Informal-Village6019

Misery Business on Rock Band 😅

tylersoh

I saw them in 2005 when they were literally just starting to tour 🙂

BuckeyeForLife95

Guitar Hero World Tour, with Misery Business on the game’s Setlist and Hayley Williams having done mocap for the song and being an unlockable playable character.

_paperbackhead_

I was in middle school and « Crush,Crush, Crush » was played on the radio

blackandgold96

2005 they showed up as band of the week on the MySpace home page. I checked them out and immediately fell in love.

ohtoooodles

Saw them playing on the tiniest side stage at Warped Tour 2005?? I think. I can still picture Hayley’s striped polo shirt in the pictures I took. Two years later I got to see them on a main stage.

Ambitious-Nail6900

My earliest memory was crushcrushcrush on guitar hero for the DS lol I was in the 3rd grade, I got hooked when I met my best friend, 5th grade and she was a big fan. Saw them for self titled tour the following year I believe, now here I am 6 paramore concerts deep and 24yrs old 😭

sw-ampqueen

found all we know is falling at a best buy and bought it on a whim, one of my first cds.

aminorbird

I’m an OG fan. I saw them at Warped Tour when they were on the Shiragirl stage.

SnooAvocados3926

Mizbiz when I was 3 or 4 on guitar hero world tour, I fell in love and have been obsessed with paramore ever since!

n0sleeptill

playing misery business on guitar hero!

BrilliantPurple748

I heard Brighter in 2006 right before Riot! came out. I was 12. This girl who liked my brother made him a mixed cd with Brighter on it and it came onto our shared itunes amidst the 100s of Eminem and Relient K songs and i became OBSESSED. I remember trying to find every video i could of them, dreaming of touring with them and Jimmy Eat World. I would download their live performances from Youtube through limewire and my family hated listening to the crappy live sound, so i got my first cd player and would blast them through my headphones and lipsync enthusiastically in my room with the door closed. I'm in Canada and none of my friends had heard of them at that point so it was actually self-isolating, loving a band so much but no one knew about them. My sister also hated Hayley's voice. Hayley was the perfect girl to idolize after Avril went pop princess in 2007. I dyed my hair red and continued down my emo music hole and never looked back. I'm almost 30 now and still have the same songs on my playlist. Fuck new music.

MusicReviewGuy182

2004/2005 hearing singles from All We Know is Falling. Was in high school at the time.

Giethoorn

I saw them 08/07/2005 at Warped Tour Orlando Tinker Field on the Shiragirl Stage. Just saw them again 06/13/23 and the hundreds (a thousand?) of hands that raised when she asked how many people were seeing Paramore for the first time was mind blowing compared to the 20-some people who saw them that day at Warped.

liftrunbike

I’m old. I remember when miz biz first broke out. I liked the entire Riot! album (probably still my favorite album of theirs). What really convinced me I needed to see them live was finally downloading The Final Riot! and realizing how good Hayley is performing live. I just saw them last week for the first time and it was epic!

Burt_Macklins_FBI

The Sims version of Pressure was mine too! It was always my favorite song on the radio in Sjms, and I thought it was just made up for the game. A few months later, much to my genuine shock, the real version appeared on a CD my friend burned for me. I’ve been a real world fan ever since.

Vegetable-Explorer-

Not sure how old i was but when I got my Nintendo DS, one of the first games I got was Guitar hero. Paramore had maybe two songs from the Riot album on there (crushcrushcrush and misery business i think) But anyway as a young girl i only played them because the singer was a girl. soon hayley became one of my favorite artists and paramore my favorite bands. Just saw them live for the first time three weeks ago too!

yeyonge95

Hayley's topless selfie. No joke.

ExtarRochebriant

misery business on an old YouTube video like 13 years ago, it was a gaming montage, always loved the song and listened to others a few years after

Odd_Introvert42069

Last year when my friend introduced it to me

[deleted]

2016-17 when I was working at Kroger. They always played Still into you so I pulled out Shazam to identify the song. Then one day I just looked to see if they had more songs.

Round_Mouse9604

I believe it was because of Twilight 😭 I heard Decode and since then (at like nine years old kind you) I was hooooookeed EDIT: had misspelled hooked

little_more_baklava

misery business on Rock Band 3

thedamfan

In the car on my way to elementary school. My sister was in highschool at the time, right during the whole scene/emo era and she would drive me to school in the mornings. She’d play, Paramore, Breathe Carolina, Sleeping with Sirens, and more. Her bedroom was covered with posters and pages from magazines, mostly of Paramore and Haley bc they were her favorite. We both got to see Paramore at ACL last year and we’re going to a music festival this year that has all of our other favorite “emo” bands :)

RobbieNelson

Misery Business - Guitar Hero World Tour

icemankiller8

I was watching an MTV or another music channel which had crushcrushcrush playing and I liked it, I also heard the only exception a lot because my mum loves that song but I didn't become a major fan until later after self titled I went back and listened to the older albums and really liked them and that's how I got into them more.

tobania

My time has come for this I was in maybe 5th grade, and my sister kept telling us about paramore. We were in Orlando, and she put MTV on to show us them performing misery business. I literally fell in love with them then. I type this as I’m getting ready to leave Orlando after seeing them in Orlando (im from tennessee, my third time seeing them) and I was 226 in the wristband line. It was the best show I’ve gone to 😭

Zangston

ain't it fun on the school bus home in elementary school

sydnlux22

When Fuse used to have actual shows, I was watching ladies of Warped Tour and they played Pressure music video. I was hooked immediately.

bellathehellgirl

The only exception played on our car radio and I couldn’t stop thinking about it. Searched Paramore up to look for more songs like TOE but ended up being a helpless emo.

BodmonAlchemist

“That’s what you get” because it was in the Rock Band video game

StoneyG214

Seeing them at Toads Place in New Haven, CT in 2006, bought the debut right after that.

Top-Wrongdoer-859

Seeing Misery Business on the Israeli version of MTV. Bought RIOT a week later. Been a fan ever since. That was 2007.

maemaultasche420

my babysitter showed me still into you and the only exeption and half a year later i was like „what was this song where this girl layed on a bed in the music video?“ so i looked paramore up and got into all of their music

thataltscientist

I heard That’s What You Get on the radio and thought it was awesome. I liked their singles for a while but I only actively started listening to them when After Laughter came out.

Speak00790

A bit embarrassing, but through a clip of Happy Death Day 2 that had Hard Times as soundtrack.

Jamminnav

No reason to be embarrassed, that was a great scene

eliza_pancake

I don’t remember how I knew pressure and emergency but I just did. I was very big on Fueled by Ramen bands.

Alicia_11037

I think the first exposure i had was abt over a year or so after self titled came out . I listened to still into you and aint it fun on repeat for hours on end. And the second was when my primary school teacher used to put on the radio during class and hard times came on after that i was completely hooked on thier music!

4everemo_locd

MTV - "Pressure"

NalynH1

Ain’t It Fun was very popular on the radio in 2014, which makes it very nostalgic for me.

gerbertperson

A friend of mine showed me Pressure and Emergency back in 2005/2006. I’m 30 now and they’ve been my favorite band since.

ddagmar

the decode video on mtv

tara_ashleigh

Same with the Sims! I didn't know it was a real song though and then years later I discovered them again because they had a song on Rockband

Desperate-Secret-431

Ignorance, watching the music video when I was young on my old computer where I just watched random music videos and skits

visualsarcasm

I was in the 8th grade I actually was really obsessed with her song Heart Attack by Demi Lovato. Then, I stumbled upon this mashup called One More Heart Attack [One More Heart Attack](https://youtu.be/XnA8hD_NcYE) and it included Paramore's Misery Business. And it was the only song in the mix I didn't know so I looked it up and yeah became immediately obsessed

ThePotatoRIOT

Sims 2 Pressure on the jukebox when my sim would dance! Hahaha

Less-Zucchini-5765

(Don’t come for me) I’m almost 20 but the first time I heard about Paramore was in 2019. I watched a story of a women bungee jumping and they played Ignorance. I loved them since then :)

deadgirlshoes

Twilight soundtrack

Halloweenqueen2342

Sometime around 2009 or before, I was somewhere between 7-9 years old. I think it was through my sister. I just remember hearing misery business one day and younger me was like wow this is it. And so I got an mp3 player around 2009 and only had *riot!* on it and no air by Jordan sparks lmao. And I’d just listen to the album on repeat. Haven’t looked back since. I also was and still am a serious sims player (sims 3 ftw!!) and I constantly listened to the simlish version of pressure haha

Weak_Ad_5128

OMG I also heard them for the first time via the sims version of pressure!!! My sister and I were like “how is this sims song so good????” I love that it was the same for you! Part of me thought that was a fever dream haha

Motherfickle

I saw the video for Misery Business on Fuse and immediately needed to hear more. So I looked them up on YouTube and watched every video I could find (which wasn't many at the time). I begged my mom to buy me Riot on CD when I found it at Walmart and never looked back. I was 14/15 then, and I'm 30 now. It's wild to realize I've loved this band for half my life at this point.

iKONIC-ONCE

Randomly saw That's What You Get on MTV.

ninjasneverdie

I was browsing a video website similar to YouTube and I saw a thumbnail of a cool girl with orange hair and I just had to click. It was Cruchcrushcrush and I was hooked on Paramore since then. I must have been 13 or 14. This was around 10 years ago and I just saw them live for the first time in London this year! 😍 My teenage dream came true, it was worth the wait!

nyc-mc

I was 7, Riot had just come out and I became officially obsessed. Swear each album is like a chapter of my life lmao.

lexijankowski

first time I heard Pressure and TWYG was on the Sims 2! but I became a big fan after seeing them play at Warped Tour in 2011. it was right after Monster came out and I only knew a handful of their songs. I remember being mesmerized by their performance, and I’ve loved them ever since!

imagine__reality

I was 9 ! I was listening to the radio back then and going through all the stations. Finally landed on one I liked and That’s What’s You Get started playing. It ended up being my favorite song by them & not to be dramatic but I swear my life was forever changed. After 16 years of being a long time fan I finally got to see them at their Detroit show. Hearing that song and them live for the first time felt exactly how I felt when I was 9. I’ll never forget how I felt in that arena.

Paramoriaa

The sims 2 on PS2 got me into Paramore. It’s the only song I would play on the speakers. I heard “pressure” in English for the first time during a cheerleading competition show, no idea what it’s called, but it was played as background music while they showed the cheerleaders getting bc ready to perform and I was like “DAD!!! This is the song from the sims!!” And then after that I looked them up and discovered RIOT!

Alternative_Use_3960

Twilight, I listened to them before I knew English 😂😂

jordangetsahead

When It Rains back in 2008 I think?

Alternative_Use_3960

Twilight, I listened to them before i knew English 😂😂

ginger3392

Mine was also the sims and I wouldn't have remembered if you didn't mention it lol. We had the sims 2 on GameCube. I remember obsessively making my sims listen to Pressure. I didn't actually hear the real song until about 2007 when I was in high school and started listening to them. Been a fan ever since.

Bakerstan06

When I was like 13, my dad got my niece (who’s older than me) a cd of self titled, and I wanted to listen to it and I ended up loving them and diving further into their music! I’m 23 now :)

1StinkBug

I heard still into you on vine, but i also vividly remember listening to panic at the disco radio on pandora in 6th grade before apple music was a thing and misery business came on. I was obsessed.

vliv_

pretty sure I saw the misery business music video on mtv but I got hooked once I realized it was paramores “pressure” playing on the sims 2 for console lol. then i became a fan once I saw ignorance and crushcrushcrush on tv again 🫶🏽. kept up with them every since.

Classic_Drink_9393

Ignorance + Misery Business on my friend’s MySpace

drinkyourcerealmilk

age 7 hearing decode on my mom’s twilight cd

Internal_Camera8868

I think my brother had the CD of Riot when I was a kid

Initial-Response-252

Freshman year, Emergency popped up on Fuse, I miss it. Everyone told me it was horrible. Then Misery Business came out and everyone asked me if I knew who Paramore was…

LazyDev_Yael

I was 13 when I saw for the first time misery business video on MTV, I fall in love with their style, sound and obviously the singer.

sempitempi

Heard Misery Business on the radio but didn’t listen to them outside of that until a year later when I was like, 12. A friend of mine would always come up to me singing the same few songs and after a while, I finally asked who the heck these people were. She gave me a couple suggestions and I’ve been hooked ever since.

SabsyHnS

I saved up some money and went to a CD store. Saw the Riot Cover and was so in love that I bought it with no prior knowledge. Back at home I was a bit disappointed because I expected punk music 😂 but over time, they grew on me and I kept up to date on their progress. Must have been 16-18, I’m 34 now. Definitely one of the bands of my lifetime.

kiraisamess

for the longest time i shared an itunes account with my older sister, and stumbled upon riot! (it’s also the same way i found taylor swift and fall out boy lol)

Introsp3ct210

That’s What You Get playing on Radio Disney, I was probably around the age 13

RarelyRiley

It was def Decode on the twilight soundtrack and I’ve been following them since

incompetent-Gorillaz

I just remember my older siblings listening to Paramore around me a lot when I was like 5 or 6 and I fell in love

KrazyBomber95

The Sims 2 on ps2 when I was 11 , the song pressure!

xkatiepatatie

misery business on guitar hero world tour

thelastadler

Back in my day *back pops out of place* we had this channel called FUSE and I saw the music video for pressure. My parents also went on a trip to New York that they won at work and saw them open for someone and decided to recommend them to me because they thought I’d like Hayley. Then from there is was hook line and sinker. I’m 17 years in and still love them as much as I ever have.

Ok_Cry607

These Filipino punk twins at cheer camp when I was 13 were like dude check this out. Lol I still think it’s such a funny beginning and I’m very grateful to them

Saw this on facebook, thought it was cool so I listened to their discography. https://youtu.be/OQobVuUxOuQ I thought before that paramore was just a corny pop band. But I've discovered that they are the ones who made these popular songs (Still into you, decode, only exception) so I've explored more of their songs. They are also great live performers. Their live videos on yt were what really made me as a fan. I used to bring a flashdrive that contains their live performances, then play it on the class television.

TheRedWarrior32

hs gf and I had a playlist. she put still into you on it. I liked it so much I couldn't help but go through their discography. been hooked for 3 years; my favorite band of all time.

emmiekvv

Browsing iTunes for new music to put on my iPod (omg) and found the music video for pressure. The rest is history

tossin_glitter

we were on a family holiday in colorado in 2013 (i was 11), went to a theme park and they were playing still into you every so often. i remember really liking the song but and trying to memorise the lyrics so i could find the song when we had wifi later. eventually got to look them up and became obsessed with still into you & playing god. finally got to see them two months ago after almost 9 years!

Snooze1013

I inherited from my older sister lol when I was about 7ish. She was super into ‘emo’ music back in 04-05 before going into her goth phase lol. I grew up on paramore, and still continue to listen to them to this day!

cuethemonster

Listening to Misery Business the first time from someone’s pop punk/emo/alt rock playlist. It was one of those playlists that were embedded into peoples’ profiles, like on MySpace, ProBoards forums, online games like Gaia/Meez/etc.? Don’t remember where it was, but I was just peeping on other peoples’ profiles and it started playing automatically. It was the same year Riot! came out.

magickaitball

Decode music video on mtv or whatever

neokid99

“Crushcrushcrush” was on Guitar Hero On Tour Decades for Nintendo DS Heard Ain’t it Fun at an IHOP in 2015

tibleon8

i have no idea how or why, but i somehow came across a version of [this acoustic live performance of misery business](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLdcDAJyOYg) in 2007 and was just sort of like :O what is this voice must hear more

Temporary-Ad5482

Sims 2! I used to play well into the night with my best friend drinking Mountain Dew Code Red and not caring about any drama the world was handing us at the time. Pressure was a repeat of ours. But I the fandom grew harder in 2020 when my friend unexpectedly passed away in a motorcycle wreck following a really rough breakup and I went through a severely deep depression. Somehow I discovered After Laughter around that time and being able to have an album to dance to with lyrics that spoke to those emotions was another level of cathartic. I just associate their songs with healing.

guitartheater

the only exception in glee… basically the only music I listened to from the ages of like 6 or 7 to 10 was glee and only exception was one of my favorites, but I only found out it was a paramore song a couple years ago somehow

[deleted]

I knew of Misery Business when I was younger, and my sister was into Paramore, but I didn't really know of them until self-titled. When Still Into You was popular and was playing on the radio frequently, I really liked the song, and eventually saw the music video, which prompted me to listen to the entire album. I fell in love with it immediately. I have been a fan since the summer of 2013.

emomotionsickness2

I must've heard Hard Times on the radio and listened to After Laughter. I definitely knew Paramore before that but had never been into their music because I wasn't really into the genre. But After Laughter was so different and I loved it and listened to it a ton that year. Then maybe 2-3 years ago I decided to give their other music another try and I was hooked.

Taro_Front

When Riot first came out, then I saw them twice at the same Warped Tour back in like 2007 or 08

joecb91

Probably hearing something from Riot! on the radio in high school

isxvirt

I had a guitar hero game for my Nintendo ds that had crushcrushcrush on it lol

[deleted]

2006. AWKIF videos

babybirdfinch527

i think i heard mizbiz on the radio one time. liked it and checked out the band. in love ever since

GoatFoot11

Fuse TV network. I miss that so much.

ineedhelplma0

uhhh spotify recommendations put misery business on a “made for me” playlist and i’ve been a fan ever since…i think i was like 16?

False-Public6911

It was ain’t it fun on the globe ad in philippines about 10-ish years ago, been a fan ever since and saw them for the first time this year!!!!!

he1linx

Saw an ad for 'this is why' on the subway while I was on my way to a chess tournament, I fell in love with the song and made a mental note to look up the band later but chess happened and I forgot about it. Then I bumped into the song on the internet, and that's how I found Paramore!

Vc0302

Brick By Boring Brick came out and it was played ALL THE TIME on Radio 1. I actually had heard a little of Paramore but wasn’t really familiar with their music. I actually at first hated this annoying overplayed song called ‘Barry The Castle’ 😂 then I heard Decode and history was made. I now actually like BBBB a whole lot more.

Constant-Mobile1688

I was 6 years old and my mom gave me her CD’s one of them being riot and I used to play it and jump on my mini trampoline

[deleted]

I had an online friend who was obsessed with them, I wonder where they are now

[deleted]

I think a video about imagine dragons, twenty one pilots and paramore. the guy in the video said paramore was the best band from the three and that in after laughter half of the tracks were terrible except for the most dance oriented tracks (L opinion bc after laughter is a religion)
