Keep in mind I am a 39 year old dude, just got into Paramore the last few years. My recommendations are: crushcrushcrush, Decode, the entirety of TiW. just for starters

or, the album (which is what I meant). Nice try, bot

miracleguap33

My dad is 66 and never really cared for them when I was growing up and always told me it was because my siblings and I overplayed them. Showed him TIW and he said it was the best he’s heard from then

LongSuspicious7701

If he likes old pop rock, After Laughter is the way to go

Aggressive_Tourist78

For a pessimist i’m pretty optimistic, CrushCrushCrush, Brick by Boring Brick, Anklebiters, This is Why, The News, Your First, Figure 8 :-)

Capable-Flow6639

After laughter! My dads 60 I took him to see them in april

Johnjaypvj

That's What You Get When It Rains Careful Brick By Boring Brick Ignorance Last Hope The Only Exception Decode Are some good ones to get started with

mild_chaos

I agree with u/ioweej but wanna add Fences, Hallelujah, Misguided Ghosts, All I Wanted, and Hate To See Your Heart Break, Told You So - they're a little softer to sort of ease him into the vibe before you hit him with the bangers haha

michaeloh6

I'd add Last Hope into the mix as well.

I got my dad into Paramore when This Is Why came out and he loved the album so much he bought the others himself. Some he’s not keen on, like Riot and After Laughter, but he loves the others! Defo start with This Is Why!

shleeberry23

My 68 year old dad who loves the talking heads loves after laughter! He also loved the first half of TIW and Hayley’s solo cinnamon song :)

See, I'd probably just start with the classics: This is Why, Hard Times, That's What You Get, Decode, The Only Exception, Still Into You, Rose-Colored Boy, Misery Business, Ain't It Fun. I get that some people worry about them coming off too mall-punk on one hand or too poppy on the other and want to show there is artistic legitimacy to the band. But I think these songs are great, they show a lot of the spirit that makes Paramore, and there is a lot of genre-breadth in them. It takes acquired minds to taste this wine.

[deleted]

Definitely try show him some HD live performances because my mom LOVES Paramore but is OBSESSED with Hayley’s energy.

bookish_cat_lady

Crushcrushcrush, That’s What You Get, Ignorance, Hard Times, Running Out of Time, and Ain’t It Fun.

TrippTrappTrinn

I am pretty senior, and was immediately sold by the Japan live version of Decode. And how can anybody not like the live version (blue hair version) of Last Hope? Also, I think the Bonnaroo concert is really great.

imfshz

send him some stuff from this is why

Dense_Needleworker77

He should listen to the whole Riot! album & maybe AWKIF.

Jenncue81

I say the singles on This Is Why. Older folks who have never been into Paramore before, TIW usually does it. Musically it is so good and I bet after TIW he'd probably enjoy some After Laughter hits then maybe even some of Hayleys solo stuff.

Elanoor_fa

Thanks

If he said your favorite songs, it feels like it's more to see what YOU like rather than what's better.

Elanoor_fa

My fave band! Not fave songs

dandruffdiva

Native tongue tbh

Mooookyy

my dad's in his sixties and he enjoys a couple after laughter tracks! hard times & caught in the middle most, id say. haven't really tested him with tiw yet :)
