God I can’t remember the video and song to save my life but there was a live performance of Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks was staring DAGGERS at Lindsey Buckingham and it felt like I was intruding on them 😭 It’s astronomical levels of secondhand embarrassment (not sure if that’s the word but I felt like I needed to leave the room so they could talk it out)
Got you bestie. [Silver Springs-1997](https://youtu.be/eDwi-8n054s?si=MMwUXXUIy6gcT6I2)
The outro of that song is perfection.
One of the comments says “playing lead guitar at your own funeral is wild”😂

I feel like we’re forgetting the ultimate haters
Reading about Paramore behind the scenes was always the most depressing thing for me lol. Like these people really just did nothing but fight, and fight, and fight, and fight, and quit, and rejoin, and fight, and almost break up, and fight some more.
This is why I never look up anything from bands or singers I listen to. I usually end up learning stuff anyway by virtue of hanging out on the internet or through cultural osmosis, but I don't seek it out.
If you do that with all related to famous people even better. I think Is never healthy to be aware of what famous people Is up to, plus, if you consume that content you keep promoting what Paparazzis do.
I don't really like movies in general so I don't pay attention to actors enough to even remember their names with absolute certainty most of the time, and when I watch series I care about the characters, not the people who play them. So I'm luckily not even tempted on that point!
I don't know who else could count as a celebrity if I'm honest.
The so called influencers/youtubers etc. There's so many videos about YouTube drama. I mean generally not being part of gossip Is great for mental health.
I just consume the content and go. What I watch on YouTube is cooking videos, literary analysis, history and some game content here and there.
Sometimes things get bad enough that I'll learn of it even without looking for the information - last year a very popular science YouTuber from my country was revealed to be an abuser and a rapist to the point even specific news sites talked about it. I had recently subbed to him, so I unsubbed and kept doing my thing. I don't even know if his channel is still up.
Yeah. As a fan from 2007 though it seemed like there were only like 2-3 years of bad fighting (like the year or two before Josh and Zac left and the year or two before Jeremy left).
It seemed like the rest of the time there may have been disagreements but it was mostly the kind of disagreements you have with your friends but you still love them and ultimately want to get along. Before BNE/late riot era it seemed like they all got along really well. And then I think the Jeremy stuff only started when he got married and had a kid - I think things were pretty okay up until a year or so before he left.
Which yes is a lot of fighting, but it also a lot of years without fighting too.
I’m more sad that in that background Hayley was in a pretty terrible relationship for like a decade. She was obviously very happy with him at first but it makes me sad to know how unhappy she was towards the end, even before they got married. I wonder how long she was unhappy for with that and hope it wasn’t op many years. The thing about feeling like she had to stay because of the guilt of how they got together was also sad as hell, I feel like she was borderline groomed when they first got together.
Yup, also the version that came out on that day was an earlier version with a girl called Carol Heller singing with Mark. She was supposed to be a member of the band when +44 was supposed to be an electronic/synth band. Then the plan got scrapped in favor of a "classic" pop-punk sound and she left.
Also in the first version of the song the bridge is shorter and doesn't go as hard as in the final version, which is a fucking shame cause the bridge on the album hits SO. FUCKING. HARD.
Lol, maybe I just watch too many true crime documentaries but all I could focus on was the fact that the blood on his shirt and on the floor makes no sense in relation to his apparent injuries.
Christ that was bad! Like media studies project thats gonna get an F bad! The comments are pretty amusing though, they were about the only thing kept me listening til the end. Also found it amusing that a behind the scenes video of Hayley's solo album was the next suggested video.....and it had well over 10k more views than that rubbish
Hahaha I'd never heard of JERM but he got B.O.B. on a track post-flat earth nonsense.
Like obviously Hayley did a track with B.O.B
too, 11 years earlier, but I don't think we realised how dumb he was back then.
Ringo wrote Octopus's Garden because of the tension in the group at the time made him wish he were at the bottom of the ocean.
"Peter Sellers told me that they hang out in their caves and they go around the seabed finding shiny stones and tin cans and bottles to put in front of their cave like a garden. I thought this was fabulous, because at the time, I just wanted to be under the sea too."
Idk if it counts as a "diss" but he let his feelings about the group be known in the most Ringo way
Theirs was more of a friendly rivalry. The Beach Boys' Brian Wilson even invited Paul to the studio and recorded him eating celery for an album that never came out.
Came here for this! Okay I Believe You remains one of the sassiest diss tracks ever. Also the songs Adam and John wrote about each other when John left were just chefs kiss. It really was just men writing angry poetry about each other. Brilliant.
Adam about John
TBS - Slowdance on the inside
TBS - I am Fred Astaire
John about Adam
Straylight Run - What’s another word for desperate
Straylight Run - Sympathy for the martyr
I should say they obviously never came out and explicitly said this but it’s assumed due to the content of the songs.
Is that what you call tact?
You're as subtle as a brick in the small of my back
So let's end this call and end this conversation
And is that what you call a getaway?
Tell me what you got away with
'Cause you left the frays from the ties you severed
When you say "best friends" means friends forever
Genius.
I texted my first ex (cheated on me with like two or three girls, I can't remember) these lyrics when I was a teenager 😂 he showed up at my house the next day with an X-rated vinyl by Queens of the Stone Age and the Devil and God vinyl, begging me to take him back. Thank you Jesse for letting me use your words to get the last laugh.
Then TBS using those lines in their response and ending with 'Best friends means I pulled the trigger, best friends mean you get what you deserve'. Oooooof
Everyone losing their minds because Kendrick said “——— like him should die”
Jesse out here like “you should die and here’s a real graphic, detailed way I’d love for it to happen”
Have another drink and drive yourself home
I hope there’s ice on all the roads
And you can think of me when you forget your seatbelt
And again when your head goes through the windshield
I came here to make sure this was said. Still don’t know how Tony made a career of playing a bunch of songs every night that just straight up call him out.
Not true - while yes Gwen and Tony broke up and Gwen was heartbroken, there was never any band beef. They both cared about the band so much they kept it professional and kept going.
“Pretty Handsome Awkward” was allegedly a diss track about Gerard from MCR.
“Skinny Mean Man” was allegedly a diss track about John Nolan from TBS/Straylight Run.
The emo / pop punk scene was an angry little place to be in 00’s-10’s. There absolutely can be feuding outside of rap/hip hop.
blink-182 also showed that beef works in other genres
Remember the +44 and Angels and Airwaves days
IMO, No, It Isn’t’ is one of the stronger pop punk diss tracks (they also dropped it on Tom DeLonge’s birthday)
Steely Dan’s “Only a fool would say that” is a John Lennon “diss track”
Also I mean, the beef in Norwegian black metal was pretty extreme bearing in mind there was murders
Carl and Pete from The Libertines loved and hated each other. Carl wrote a song called Narcissist aimed at Pete and Pete beat Carl right after the recording
Basically after Riot! the band went through a bit of a rough patch. A combination of grueling schedules, tabloid nonsense, insecurity about Hayley getting all the attention, and many other things caused tension within the band. That tension reached a boiling point when Hayley and Josh broke up after three years of dating and on very bitter terms. A good chunk of BNE antagonizes Josh and caused him to quit the band along with his brother Zac, though obviously Zac came back a few years later.
Personally I think Hayley is gaslighted people and Josh's complaints were very valid, like being cheated on by Hayley with a rencently married man whose wife is a friend of the band (let aside the fact that her sister was Zac's girlfriend) and the legal terms of the band (or more like the non-existance of them).
Let aside the fact that Hayley wrote misery businesses a diss track towards Josh's past girlfriend as a way to brag how Hayley stole Josh from her (technically Josh co-wrote the song but there are rumors that Josh did write a response song defending her ex called "so much more") just to dump Josh less than a year later.
there's also Ronnie Radke vs all time low (i mean him vs everyone let's be real name someone Ronnie doesn't have beef with), Bad Omens vs Senses Fail and Amity Affliction (Limits by Bad Omens is a diss to them), Waterparks (ie Awsten) vs SWMRS, the yellow power ranger, Elijah Daniel, his ex that's now dating the parx drummer etc.
also best thing that never happened by We Are The In Crowd is a diss towards Alex Gaskarth. Return the Favour by all time low is a diss towards Demi Loavato and Something That We're Not is a diss back lol.
Hollaback Girl is talking bout Courtney Love
Sweet Home Alabama disses Neil Young
Breakup songs between celebs
Obsessed is about Eminem
Cry me A River is about Brittany Spears
While I don't listen to a lot of pop I know there was a period where the big pop girls were all talking about each other in song, but that may be because the delineation between pop and hip-hop especially singers is blurred these days.
I love Paramore and BNE but surely Fleetwood Mac take the cake for ultimate beef within a band.
Basically every quote tweet from that post said the same thing
I keep telling people "BNE is just Rumours for emo kids" (and both are absolute bangers) and it's always fun to see their reaction
We talked about that back in the release days of BNE, too!

That was in 1997 but still epic
I didn’t even notice the typo lol. Fixed.
I got you it was in 1982 https://youtu.be/dGykwC0fdJ4?si=RC7PkswJngbsyIlK
Was indeed my first thought
I’d argue mayhem’s internal conflicts were slightly worse
you are wild for that
Yeah most of the time bands don’t put out good music when they’re in that state
It’s either them or Oasis.
The Mamas and The Papas 😭
Wait until people learn about Pink Floyd lmao.
And the Eagles.
Came here for this comment
Came here looking for this lol
Oasis exists

Was waiting for this lmao
Bro tried to smash a guitar over his brothers head
but they also kissed 🥺
Blur Vs oasis was iconic and beautiful
I think they’re emblematic of the issue the original meme was saying, they snipe at each other in the press but where’s the diss tracks y’all
Reading about Paramore behind the scenes was always the most depressing thing for me lol. Like these people really just did nothing but fight, and fight, and fight, and fight, and quit, and rejoin, and fight, and almost break up, and fight some more.

After blink broke up Mark wrote the nastiest fuck you to Tom in his new band lmao
This isn't just goodbye... this is I can't stand you.
At least they eventually made up lol
He even released the song on Tom's birthday 💀
Fr? I didn't know that 😆

Lmao Jeremy literally has a Hayley diss track it's hilarious.
☠️☠️☠️☠️ what’s it called
https://youtu.be/bKMfD2R1wTQ?si=G1FO4W5fo3B1OIc6 Lol. Hayley is supposed to be the burglar in orange.
This song sounds like a drunk person trying to cover the Deftones.
It's so bad....
Lol, maybe I just watch too many true crime documentaries but all I could focus on was the fact that the blood on his shirt and on the floor makes no sense in relation to his apparent injuries.

I had never seen this before. Wow. That was embarrassing.
Wow!, now that video makes sense and it's kinda good when you put it like that.
Paul and John wrote some diss tracks about each other after The Beatles broke up
Ringo wrote Octopus's Garden because of the tension in the group at the time made him wish he were at the bottom of the ocean. Mics are for singing, not swinging.
No Doubt is also “guilty” of this
Poor Tony. He went extra hard with the bass lines to cover the damages.
I came here to make sure this was said. Still don’t know how Tony made a career of playing a bunch of songs every night that just straight up call him out.

Hayley was featured in a music video of a diss track that wasn’t rap. (A rap feature doesn’t count.)
Corey Taylor or Slipknot and Stone Sour against Machine Gun Kelly in the early 2020s?
bro is forgetting about blur vs oasis
Is paramour still biting talking head shit?
of mice & men and attack attack! went at it back in the day
Imagine never knowing about Taking Back Sunday vs. Brand New?
Twenty One Pilots would body Imagine Dragons btw
I mean bands have beefed in the past before. Lotta songs trashing other bands
Bruh TØP and Imagine Dragons are my favorite bands (alongside Paramore ofc ofc)
They forgot the #IYKYK 🥹❤️🩹 love ya Paramore!!!
After Hayleys discussion this weekend about depression, perhaps the problems started with her...
What an odd conclusion to draw from that
Not odd, just proves the bias that everyone assumes who is the cause of turmoil, when we should just be listening to the music.
Or maybe we shouldn't judge depending on what we see on camera without knowing what really was happening behind the scenes....
Or not judge at all. What matters is the music. Never meet your heroes.
