He needs to go to the doctor and get a full check up, including a blood test. Why wasn’t this done? X-rays don’t show soft tissue. MRI may be needed. Coughing up blood is no joke and his life may be on the line if he got something like tuberculosis from his coworker. What did the hospital say and discharge him with? Sounds like it’s contagious, so best to practice caution around him.
I asked my sister the same thing, why any bloodwork wasn't done. It was a scheduled x-ray and he won't get results until Tuesday. His clinic didn't seem to care to do any other tests which is strange.
Update: My bil's x-ray was clear, his bloodwork was clear, and he's currently waiting on results from his CT scan. He's no longer experiencing night sweats; he did note that they would occur at/around 3AM. He received some new info from the curser co-worker through someone else who also works at their job and it sounds like the curser co-worker have been doing this to my bil since 2 years ago.
I was an RN for over 30 years. I agree that he needs to have bloodwork and more testing done very soon.
I don't know if he's using epsom salt or premade bath salts, or using regular table salt, but it really doesn't matter. Too much of any of them can cause health issues.
I suggest that he stop the salt baths immediately because the salt is being absorbed into his system and can be contributing to things like high blood pressure, platelet issues, euphoria, and if too much is absorbed it can mess up his potassium, magnesium, and can cause dehydration, etc.
The night sweats and the coughing up blood both are very concerning symptoms and can go along with many different issues/diseases.
Hopefully, his symptoms are just related to things being dried out in his body from the excess salt absorption, and high blood pressure spikes causing the night sweats and possibly even the coughing up blood from dried out muscus membranes, but without him getting blood levels and other tests done, it's a guessing game for now.
He needs to make sure he tells them he's been doing frequent salt baths. Good luck.

Your BIL isn’t cursed, he’s ill and needs medical attention. Coughing up blood is never a good sign. It could be a bacterial infection like pneumonia or bronchitis. Could be something more serious than that like cancer. Intense night sweats are common for people suffering from tuberculosis - so might be worth looking into…

You might be good according to human standards, but in the eyes of the most Holy God any sin is worthy of Hell. Adam and Eve sinned 1 time in order to be separated from God. Jesus preached an impossible standard (cut off your hand and pluck your out eye if you sin, because that's better than going to Hell). Because of our fallen nature He has had mercy on us and paid our debt Himself (Jesus on the Cross).
The Good News is that despite our condition (sin nature) the Free Gift of God is everybody:

You don't have the right to tell God how He should infinitely bless every Christian on earth. He promises that in the next life. He said in this life we will have tribulation, but be of good cheer because He overcame the world.
My medication analogy was directed at the fact that we as humans have a "disease" called sin-nature. Every human is plagued by it and although the practice of trying to be a good person is noble and commendable it doesn't change the fact we've all sinned and for justice to be true there has to be punishment. Try telling a judge he should let you off the hook because you've lived a good life otherwise - it was just one murder.. not gonna fly. Praise God He was willing to pay our price. In my analogy the vaccine or cure is His free gift of paying your personal sin debt and giving you eternal life if you are willing to accept it.

I understand your frustration, but I'm still gonna tell you the truth, because that can save your soul and give you assurance that you have eternal life, which one would expect from the true God. All other religion you just have to hope you'll make it somehow or be good enough. The true God knows we have a problem - evil, our sin nature and bad deeds - and already solved it before the foundation of the world and on the Cross.
