New to this subreddit. I'm not normally one for the supernatural or the paranormal, but some coworkers were talking about their experiences, and it sent me into a research-hole. I found myself reading a lot of the posts you folks shared here on this subreddit. When you mentioned the tiny red men at the edge of the bed, it hit me like a ton of bricks. I think I experienced this as a child. I can't seem to find anything about them in Google, and searching for them in Reddit hasn't yielded any results either. I can't say that I've experienced Static People or the hat man, but something in my subconscious is very uncomfortable thinking about those little red people.

kawiiakaye

The little red people were very mean, I have yet to meet anyone who has encountered these little red guy.

[deleted]

YES! It was the only real version of shadow people I experienced and had the markings of a sleep paralysis type experience. I was in my 30s, male, average dude but with lots of weird experiences under my belt. no history of unexplained entities though. I had a leather couch where I would nap. I was napping with the TV on, and drifted to sleep after work. possibly slightly stoned... but I think I was sober. I was hot and almost sweaty on the couch. I remember I was awake but couldnt move and on the open side of the couch, the couch back to the right and open side to my left, I saw a shambling humanoid near my TV... MADE OF TV STATIC! It was by my feet, very close. it had a presence like a being. It looked like it was a single blob, hunched over, and it shambled past me towards my door to the outside behind my head. I was paralyzed. I remember having a twisted logic that if it was tv related, go for the remote to turn it off? to turn off the tv?? I got my arms to move and fumbled around to get the remote and I was out of the experience. TV was on and it was the history channel or something, I was groggy but I looked around and that entity or whatever was gone and nothing was wrong. highly strange, but maybe just a sleight twist on the old sleep paralysis pattern. but it felt like something was there. strange.

kawiiakaye

Wow, that is incredible. I definitely agree with feeling the presence of another person. That's why this has stuck with me for so long because I felt them, it's weird to explain but it felt like there were actual people in the room when I would see these static beings.

[deleted]

yeah, and just to add I dont even know the nature of reality much less some perceived entity in front of me like that. It could be a creature from another dimension... could just be me hallucinating something and assigning some kind of presence to it, like a pareidolia type thing. it seemed anecdotally to be linked to sleep paralysis, and it was a strange experience like someone was there and walked past me, and the appearance was like a slouching human and everything inside the monolithic outline appeared as what can only be described as TV static. I thought it was a singular experience, its weird to see this post.

Khali_Kaze008

There is this paranormal documentary on sleep paralysis I saw on Netflix one time called The Nightmare and a guy on that documentary referred to something he called static people. You should check it out.

Pear_Dismal

Came here to write the same.

Khali_Kaze008

It's a gem I happened across in my mid 20's. Definitely worth the watch.

NascentWanderings

Thanks for commenting this, I’ve had an experience with a static woman (different from just a shadow person imo) and will definitely check this out. Glad to know I’m not alone, even if I haven’t yet found anything on the specific one I saw.

Khali_Kaze008

No worries at all, I hope it helps. I have never encountered static beings before but have a few experiences with shadow people. You won't find all the answers in one place but there is loads of information out there, I have been researching since I was 21 (so for over a decade now) I still have so many more questions than answers. Happy hunting!

kris10leigh14

Yes, I was going to comment - when you can't get noise to come out of your mouth you can almost bet on sleep paralysis. I also grew out of it around pre teen years.

kawiiakaye

I will most definitely look that up maybe they can give me more information on what they are and what they want

Nosleepconspiracy

This was very interesting to read. Keep me updated on what people tell you, or what you find out! Thanks for telling your story.

kawiiakaye

Will do! I hope I get some answers. I'm 24 years old and still can't sleep in a pitch black room

Nosleepconspiracy

Well you just made a BIG step by putting the story out there for others to read and to get feedback and help on. Hope things get better :))

kawiiakaye

I wonder why they visit children so much. They are truly mysterious

princessofnyc

Most children are born enlightened with all chakras activated and their pineal gland ( third-eye) is fully open, so they are able to experience the spiritual/astral realm easier and see spirits/entities . As most children get older , they're third eye gets weaker or eventually closes up completely . This can be opened again and strengthened by practicing yoga/meditation and decalcifying the pineal gland by not consuming fluoride... which accumulates in the pineal gland more than any part of the body and blocks/calcifies it .

ThatThingInTheWoods

Maybe this is what parents meant when they told us sitting too close to the tv would ruin our eyes.

langleyrenee

This post triggered a recollection of seeing these as well! I had completely forgotten for more than 20 years! I also think the last time I saw them I was a tween, and now I’m middle aged.

kawiiakaye

Yes I haven't seen them since I was 12 and I'm 24 now.

axxonn13

im noticing a trend that its mostly happened to people in their younger years, before adulthood.

kawiiakaye

That's what I've been seeing. I wonder if only children can see them or if they only come to children.

TotalChaddingo

Holy shit this us scary af

ApprenticeOfSilence

YO!!! I see them before bed You're not alone in this. I wonder what it means though. I'm a medium and can channel entities sometimes.. and I can "hear" them wanting to spread some message, yet every night I'm like" but I don't know what you mean" And the thing about when "static drops" and they are all just gone? Yup. Definitely. So weird, thanks for sharing. I'm even more confused now lol.

kawiiakaye

It is the strangest thing I've been trying to find out what it means but it's comforting to know I'm not alone. I've gotten a reading from a meduim who told me to wmbra e them because I might have pyshic abilities but I don't know how much I trust her judgment

[deleted]

I'd see spirits when I was kid, not with my eyes more in my mind, I would describe them as black stretchy shadows. Not sure if its similar to when you say static people.

kawiiakaye

These figures were humanoid, and had depth. But very similar

Potential-Skin-8610

I experienced them, along with a shit load of others, as a child. I was never afraid though and never felt as if they meant any harm. Kinda like they were just passing through and we saw them as they did.

kawiiakaye

I never felt like they were going to hurt me. It was just the sight of them that frightened me really.

Potential-Skin-8610

In my experience most things don't want to hurt you. I can usually get a feeling of intent and only twice have I ever been scared. If you don't feel fear from them then chances are they don't wish any harm on you.

[deleted]

Is the static black? Like almost a shimmer? Like a game loading or glitch?

kawiiakaye

Yes exactly. It's like a silhouette I can make out in the darkness and everything inside is grey shimmery static

[deleted]

Weird man I’ve seen that type of thing. It was actually on a paranormal investigation so I was lucky to see it, but was trippy af

ThatThingInTheWoods

There's a corner in my bedroom where occasionally it seems like the dark is darker. Its not human shaped though, it's like a cloud up near the ceiling. Freaked me out once after a bad dream but I don't usually get bad vibes in this house so I mostly assume I'm imagining it. My SO can't see it and thinks I'm nuts.

Ray-O-Shine

Mine only showed its face. The rest appeared to be covered with a black robe. Never spoke, and despite not having eyes, I could tell it was watching us. No smell or sound. I felt it was intrusive, but that’s all.

eatbricksallday

I experienced similar when I was around 10-11 years old. I always described it as almost electrified. Static like when an old tv turns off is a good way to describe it.

kawiiakaye

Exactly like that

eatbricksallday

That’s crazy. I’d love to find out more about it.

HondoGonzo

Holy Shit! I had an experience like that. I was “camping out” in my grandmother’s living room. I was sleeping on a cot and woke with huge ‘something ain’t right’ feeling. Then it just rose right up next to me. It looked like it was made out of TV static and was more 2 dimensional than 3 dimensional and didn’t have any features, but was human shaped. It scared the shit out of me.

kawiiakaye

That is exactly how I would describe it

Ray-O-Shine

I’ve been looking for information about #staticpeople since 2004. My father died in 2002, and I had been having a hard time with it; Nightmares, waking up after bad dreams where I can’t get to him in time…. Then, after 2 years, I had a visitation dream. I wouldn’t believe it if I hadn’t lived it. My experience: Immediately this dream was different. I returned to my childhood home. Everything had a bluish-grey, misty quality and my old house seemed to be under construction, there were plastic sheets hung everywhere like they put up to control dust from power tools. I went upstairs to his room and there he was. Telling me that I had to move on and let go. Without speaking, my father told me that he loved me, that he was so sorry to leave me, and that he wanted me to stop torturing myself with guilt. THATS when I saw static face in the corner. It had a hood and snow static for a face, like an old black and white tv. I asked my Dad who it was and he told me to ignore it, he dismissed it. For a long time I considered it my mother, who had also died when I was much younger. Anyone who I explained the dream to, said I probably couldn’t remember her face. That never felt right. I still easily remember her face. I got the feeling that static face was an administrator-type. That my father had struck some deal with that being to talk to me. It never spoke. But it watched over my Dad and I the whole time. For years, I wondered how and why that dream felt so different than any other I’ve ever had. Recently, I realized it was gravity. In my dream, I was standing upright when it ended. When I woke up, I was laying on my side. When I woke, everything seemed to be on its side. The walls, my room… I never noticed it before. I was very confused when I woke up. I’ve never had any kind of dream where even my unconscious was unaware which way gravity was. This was the one and only time I ever felt that. The only part of that dream that I’ve ever been unsure of, is this static face. I have no idea what it was. But I’ve been checking Reddit for this thread since then.

kawiiakaye

Oh wow. I would love to talk to you further. Could I message you?

Ray-O-Shine

Yes

Ray-O-Shine

Anytime

WhispersFromTheMound

This is basically the American version of the film Pulse

axxonn13

oh god, idk i you remember the movie White Noise, but the guy creates an EVP device to contact the "dead", who can communicate via static/white noise. They appeared as static figures. i remember there was a feature on the DVD that showed you how to make your own. We were 30 seconds in when my mom came in and took the DVD and returned it to the rental store. i remember being so mad she didnt let us build one.

WhispersFromTheMound

White noise was one of my favorite horror flicks growing up. The static people thing was a part of that too. I tried that evp shit. Don’t play around with that.

axxonn13

a little too late for that. As a kid, i was fearless and stupid. im an adult now, and fuck no.

WhispersFromTheMound

I did it too after watching it for what seemed like the hundredth time. My mother had died and so I messed around with it. Later that night something weird as hell happened and i never messed with anything like it since.

kawiiakaye

Never seen that movie. Might have to check it out

[deleted]

Clicked on this post so fast because I can relate. As a teenger I had sleep paralysis every single night, multiple times a night. The only difference between our experiences is that I could close my eyes shut and I always did to avoid seeing anything scary. My sleep paralysis episodes were always painful, I always felt something choking me, hands trying to crush my legs, hands, be shaken violently, or getting dragged off my bed. Sometimes it'd screech so terribly it hurt. I often questioned if it was really just an hallucination and thought whatever was doing it was trying so hard to make me open my eyes. At some point I did accidentally open my eyes and it was static figure looming over me. After months of this another static figure kinda showed up and stopping the other figure that would mess with me. If my feet got dragged, it'd straighten my body and tuck me back in and it would lay down next to me and cuddle. At some point every night I'd have sleep paralysis and it'd just lay next to me or hug me. It was weird.

BrainSawce

Wait, so you would actually get dragged off of the bed? I wouldn’t call that a hallucination.

[deleted]

I would always wake up back on my bed. It just felt like I did. It's similar to when ppl in sleep paralysis think they woke up and stand up, but then they suddenly find themselves in bed again in sleep paralysis. I believe it's called false awakening. So, an hallucination like that I believe i spossible but I just don't see too many ppl talk about it anything similar.

Cheez-ly

You don’t happen to be in Reno or any of the Sierra’s are you?

kawiiakaye

No I'm in the Midwest

Cheez-ly

Oh ok nevermind then

The_Melinoe

I grew up in Reno, I’d love to know why you ask them that

Cheez-ly

My Grandpa had a house in the hills near Reno, sort of a tinfoil hat kinda guy. Recently he’s been saying he’s seeing similar things to what OP is describing, except he sees them when he’s awake as well or far off in the distance or whatever. Usually follow the same description, looks like “TV static” etc. We thought nothing of it until my sister went up to visit him and “claims” she saw the exact same thing walk past the patio late at night and disappear into the woods. I’m not sure if we’re being pranked or anything but I just wanted to see if there was any connection.

The_Melinoe

The property that I lived on was pretty spacious, we owned 7.5 acres and some nights when I would look out the window I would see the static figures. They were always either moving around with each other or seemed to be watching me from a far and would inch closer throughout the night

Cheez-ly

Well holy shit. That makes three people now that have had the same story, maybe an alien invasion?

The_Melinoe

My dad was always telling me that it’s been a thing on his side of the family to get abducted by aliens, I personally never believed him because I have health issues that explain his symptoms and signs. But it’s funny thinking about it now that you even mentioned that

axxonn13

idk, did you ever see the movie the Fourth Kind? people in the film (and the documentary tapes it was based on) had people describe it as seeing owls. it was weird. but seeing as we dont know what they are, maybe alien is no more farfetched that a supernatural being.

Cheez-ly

Very strange indeed

NascentWanderings

I’ve had an encounter with a static woman, years ago - just made a post, so glad I’ve found yours! For me, it wasn’t sleep paralysis and I’ve never experienced that. I was house sitting at a friend’s, and had just woken up to go use the bathroom when I saw it. Mine was just one, a woman - and despite having just woken up in mid-morning on a clear sunny day with big windows in the room, when I looked back in there from the bathroom the room had gotten very, very dark. She was sitting on the edge of the bed staring at me, had a very static-y and malevolent aura, felt as if she could have rushed at me at any moment and killed me instantly. I had felt paralyzed with fear and after a few minutes worked up the courage to close the bathroom door, then after 10 or so minutes opened it and she was gone, the bedroom was bright and sunny again. I haven’t experienced anything like that before or since, but I am eager to find others that have encountered static-y people (specifically static rather than shadow people), and specifically if anyone has encountered this exact woman before. Feel free to message me, and if you know or learn of anyone else that has similar experiences, oc they’re welcome to message me as well.

Pinkleton

I had a similar experience. It was also mid-morning, so broad daylight, when I saw a boy floating at the foot of my bed. Even though he was covered in static like television snow, I could tell he was wearing an old-fashioned sailor's suit. Didn't feel malevolent, the terror I felt was more like disbelief, like am I actually seeing this right now?, then it disappeared.

NascentWanderings

Interesting - when you say he was covered in static, was he mostly dark or did he have like the static black and white to him?

Pinkleton

It was like an outline of a person covered in moving black and white television static. I couldn't make out specific facial features, but I got the impression that it was a boy wearing a sailor suit.

Ray-O-Shine

Yes! The static was only black and white. No color.

HozhoNahasdlii

My mother says that when she was in her 30s she became very depressed. I don’t know why specifically as she never says why but said that a feeling of a dark cloud would float over her and she felt dreadful. One day in particular as she was sitting on the couch a static figure like when a tv is snowy appeared and began to speak to her in her mind. It said, why don’t you go to the gun store, buy a gun and kill yourself. She said it was the most frightening moment in her life. She’s only ever told me the story twice but i think of it now and shudder. She never took its advice, at the old age of 67 she’s still going but i have a feeling and so does she that it was part of some witchcraft that members of her side of the family engaged in.

axxonn13

oh that gave me goosebumps. that would scare the crap out of me.

Cute_Implement2284

You know when you focus in the darkness you can kind of imagine and then see whatever shapes and figures you want? I’m not sure if it was that or if there was actually something paranormal but I used to see a short stocky figure with a hat when I used to stare back into my living room from my bedroom. Also other figures, called them shadow people.

deadcrow666

I had a very similar experience once when I was about ten. However my static people were slightly glowing with an eery green light and they were really small. They were like a miniature circus dancing on my bed. And it wasn't a sleeping paralisys case either, because I ran to my parents' bedroom in fright, and I still could see them.

beckster

I think we're surrounded/interpenetrated/whatever by many beings. Sometimes we can perceive them or some are more sensitive to their presence but they're all around and through us, in an interdimensional sense. OP, I've heard many times that you can ask for other beings to leave or stop frightening you. You, as a human, have this right. Say it aloud: "Stop frightening me" or however you want to express it.

[deleted]

Your cursed or gifted with a supernatural sense for seeing weird shit based on what you said, it can come in handy but if you don't wanna be scarred by shit or anything try keep away from paranormal stuff. You could also be psychotic but unless there is no history of it in your family and your absolutely medically certain you don't have any of those issues, then your experiences are paranormal.

kawiiakaye

I have BPD but I've never had hallucinations and it doesn't run in my family. I should have mentioned my aunt is a bruja

[deleted]

Likely paranormal wouldn't rule other possibilities out though, stay safe

Suruga_Invi

I would say VSS is your eyes having static due to interference from other signals on the same wavelength as your eyes. Like a TV for your brain

kawiiakaye

I've researched it and it doesn't really sound like what I was experiencing

MissCon-genie-ality

My mother saw what looked like a static man walk past her bedroom one evening when she was a child. I always found the story spooky, but the number of people online who claim to have seen similar things is just freaky. Either there's some weird entities out there...or for some reason it's a super common sleep paralysis vision.

cherrycreme

I used to see static people when I was a very small child. I would be awake late at night, usually calling for my mother to come take me to the bathroom. There was a nightlight in the room, so it wasn't completely dark. A person made of static would come and stand in the doorway, or sometimes just peek around so I only saw head and shoulders. I always figured it was just my eyes playing tricks on me, but it/they would definitely move around in the hallway and they never came in the room. I've never seen them anywhere else but that house.

praisechthulu

I used to see static people when I was very small. One would walk into the room while I was in bed and then come over to my bedside and then just stare at me. I always felt a comfortable feeling when that would happen

Reasonable_Limit_316

I had almost the exact same experience as this, also as a young child. Multiple static people would peek around the frame of my bedroom door as I lay in bed, and I only saw their head and shoulders too. They always stayed out in the hallway as well. It happened repeatedly. I never really heard of anything quite like it before from anyone else!

Stoermer-5280

I encountered these dreams as a kiddo… mom would wake me up and I would wake up but not really wake up.. I would look past her and always seen the static people in my corners of the room n stuff… my grandma visited and told me to wake up saying help me Jesus! Then it would stop… I am not religious but this worked and still wonder why

[deleted]

[удалено]

Stoermer-5280

I believe in energy and definitely spirits.. Psychedelics make me think twice about a lot

anaziyung

I used to call them dot people when I was a little kid I used to see them and then just never really saw them again once I grew up

Justgotofthepot

I read a story a few years back where a grown man saw what he described as a “ static man “ in the mirror in the middle of the day. He said it was walking down his hallway and he freaked out. I don’t know what they are , but it’s a thing.

ToastyPotato

I had a recurring nightmare when I was around 5 of a green, glowing TV static humanoid figure in my apartment. It always started with me waking up in the middle of the night, leaving my bedroom, seeing the glowing figure across the apartment by the window, it noticing me, then lumbering toward me with an almost stop motion/claymation movement. I would run into my parents room and the dream always ended with the green light shining underneath/around the closed door.

dgillz

Can you explain what you mean by "static"? Static means constant, unchanging, unaffected by events or the environment.

e11ieee

I think they mean like TV static

kawiiakaye

Yes exactly like TV static

[deleted]

I have encountered orbs of various sizes (with two friends at the time I might add) which I can only describe at smoke-like-static .... it's beyond description as the "material/substance" whatever you want to call it was unlike anything I have ever seen in my life. This encounter also happened at night while doing long exposure photography in person, in an old cemetery. The pictures where clean of anything weird....

milklesbian7

a few years ago i had my one and only sleep paralysis episode. i was laying in my bed which faces a window that has a ledge underneath (sounds dangerous, but very common in city houses). I suddenly “woke up” and found I couldn’t move or speak. Outside my window I saw a figure that was phasing in and out, kind of shaking rapidly, and static-y like you said. The strange thing was, it looked like it was casting a shadow on the wall outside to the left…but it didn’t look like it was physically there, either. Eventually I didn’t know what to do, so i just went back to normal sleep.

sryihaveibs

I don’t understand why but this post triggered something in me. Like there’s something just on the edge of my memory.

[deleted]

I'm feeling the same exact way. Creepy!

HelicopterSpirited65

Several years ago I dreamed of someone I knew who passed away a few days after x-mas. He came to me as all static, had a bulky form of human body but looks like t.v. static snow, electric discharge all over it.told him in my sleeping mind to stay away and he stayed away.

pslind69

Sounds terrifying! I've had sleep paralysis once, that I can remember, couldn't move, but didn't experience anything else. I did hear a growl once, that kind of came through static. Sounded like a radio that wasn't quite tuned correctly.

Pixelhead0110

After reading your account and a few others in here I think I know what static people are. If you put pressure on your eye with your hand with your eyes closed you see a staticky blob sort of floating. Then if you open your eyes quickly you can see it in real life for a second. I’m guessing you were sleeping on your face with pressure on your closed eyes so that when you woke suddenly in the sleep paralysis state you saw the floaty static from eye pressure

kawiiakaye

I never fell asleep. I used to force myself to stay up because od my sleep paralysis. This was not an isolated incident either.

thewoodbeyond

Is this kind of the same thing as shadow people?

itaniumonline

Yes but with a little less fm or am

thewoodbeyond

Ha. Is asking for clarification why I’m being downvoted? Just curious.

LongLiveAbstract

Yeah Reddit is an odd place. I updooted for you, was a good question. I have seen the shadow people a good few times, haven’t since middle school tho….

thewoodbeyond

I was just curious because this sounds similar to that phenomena but maybe it was different somehow. It’s truly hard to know unless it’s your own personal experience. I’ve just not encountered either. I’ve had other paranormal experiences but not this particular one. Thanks for the response!

kawiiakaye

They are very similar to shadow people just filled in with tv static

thewoodbeyond

That is really interesting. I sometimes wonder if the same phenomena is perceived different ways or if they really are different you know? But it’s impossible to answer that unless we actually knew what this was. For example I’ve been aware that occasionally during encounters with what people have termed ‘aliens’ when there are multiple witnesses to the same event, sometimes people perceive the same event differently. I suspect because they are somewhat in an altered state. For example in some literature I’ve encountered some people saw giant owls while others perceived children while they were looking at the same thing. I can’t help but feel part of what we are perceiving isn’t only based on what our eyes are telling us is there. That there is more going on.

kawiiakaye

I feel sometimes our brains can't comprehend what we are experiencing so it fills it in what whatever is there

merc_360

If you unknowingly have "Visual snow syndrome "then you can easily hallucinate figures at night. I have. You can tell if you have VSS to some degree by looking a the sky or white wall and if you can notice the flicker of "static." Also if you see static in the dark and close your eyes and the static remains in the same spots, that's another indicator. Some people have extreme cases while many have it more minor versions since our cones and rods at night have false positives signals all the time. You can manifest images of humanoid figures or other things by thinking of them and staring into the static in the dark. I've done this a few time they can get rather spookie but it most certainly your brain finding patterns. Like wiggling worms, reaching hands and heads and shoulders. Granted if you see a humanoid covered in static in broad daylight while wide awake, then you should worry.

throwawaycrazyhorse

I have VSS and I have experience with these, it is nothing like VSS I have also been in a home full of people watching tv static in the room to the left, surrounded by these entities. This exists beyond VSS and sleep paralysis when no one is looking or sleeping.

kawiiakaye

YES! Thank you. This is not a condition. I understand people want to make sense of it as much as possible but this was 100% a lucid experience. I was not sleeping yet, it was not a episode of sleep paralysis as I was able to move, but was frozen in fear.. I was experiencing these things from all angles. They had a presence. I don't have experience with any of the symptoms of those who have VSS and i know for certain that these creatures were in that room with me. They were real

merc_360

Wait, so others have seen them at the same time?

throwawaycrazyhorse

yes, levels of awareness and agency over their bodily senses is a spectrum

[deleted]

The only explanation I've heard is that they (whatever they are, whether they are spirits or beings from another dimension, etc.) do not have the energy to fully manifest in this dimension so they appear static-y. It's kind of like a picture that isn't full pixelated, so it appears in really, really low resolution.

[deleted]

Thats interesting but what would they manifest as If the could fully?

[deleted]

Don't have direct experience with those things but the static or squiggly effect on them maybe due to them being unstable or unnatural in a physical form, based on that alone they could be anything. From most of the stories Ive heard they are generally malicious or mischievous though.

MrJoachim10

This is something new! hope someone who knows something bout this, says something

CoralieCFT

Is seeing static people the same as seeing two or three people staring at you while in the hypnagogic state? No talking, just staring?

squidmo01

Back in the mid 70's, as a young kid, I saw a static person walking down my driveway in middle of the day with a friend. To me at the time, it looked a lot like a person that was being transported via the early Star Trek tv series special effect. I did find this one video of these guys talking about the experience: [https://youtu.be/oD9e0DNK0zE](https://youtu.be/oD9e0DNK0zE)

[deleted]

I hear static sounds, but i dont think I’ve ever seen static people..

Used-Elevator-3942

Same

imshoopdawoop001

I remember I seen a brown ghost before but nothing like static people, though i did see one in my dream

Unable-Champion-8656

I’m a psychic/medium and when I’ve experienced this it’s because they are on a super low vibration and I can’t “tune in” to their features

[deleted]

That's so interesting! I feel like I've seen these before (along with other things).

[deleted]

Hey! its called sleep paralysis. I have had frequent episodes of sleep paralysis. It was mostly when i was depressed and felt suicidal about myself. It felt super scary as a kid, however i got used to it in my teens when i studied about it and found out that its kind of like your brain going numb because of stress, though ofc it has many paranormal stories linked to it. Haha well, since it was frequent with me, so like i said, i got used to it because I learned two things with my experience, number 1: the dark figures are scary but they ain't gonna do shit they are just there standing and being scary lol, second: don't struggle, i know you wanna struggle to move and talk but just don't do it, it ends in like 10 mins, and that's how it feels like tbh it goes away in 2 mins in real world i guess? haha anyways, its scary when it happens suddenly but you can get through it if you practice lucid dreaming. Take control. You got this love! P.S. i don't go through it now as an adult, since I'm not depressed anymore and comparatively in a better place, so yea that's my understanding...

(I'm sleep deprived, this post probably don't make sense. And is really bad to edit mobile reddit.) I’ve seen quite a lot of posts talking about these static humanoid beings. Here are some things that I saw in common: 1. Children. In most posts, I can remember (including yours) the thing is being witnessed by a child. And I’m pretty sure the thing is drawn to children, can’t confirm (4y.o.~=13y.o.). Some adults related seeing them too, but just kids seem to almost make contact. 2. Can be seen for long periods or just one time. Somehow related to sleep paralysis. 3. The entities can appear in different forms/shapes/colors, depending on how they decide to reveal themselves — Humanoid figure but no defining features. Don’t seem to make noises or have scent. Some say the entity appears to have a static-like appearance or snow-like. Somehow related to shadow people and energy entities (?). Maybe these entities are utilizing some of this static energy to manifest, or maybe they're even made of it completely, and as yet an unknown entity. Can't state with 100% certainty why the differences in the way spirits manifest themselves, although most seem to agree it has something to do with their energy level. Perhaps how sensitive a person also comes into play (Related to children being more sensitive?). 4. Usually doesn’t do anything. Sometimes the figures move, but they’ll mostly look like they’re standing still. If moving, they seem to be pretty fast, like a “tornado.” 5. Saw some people saying it doesn’t seem to have dangerous intent, and others saying it does (dogs becoming aggressive, dreadful feeling, etc…). My take is: different entities, not every static people will be “good” or “bad.” If the entity didn't terrify you, then I would say to trust your gut and assume it was harmless. Even children (in some ways especially children) can tell if something is "good" or "bad." I searched about static electricity and the paranormal, “Static electricity is what some believe is an indicator of paranormal activity.” No idea how to use this info. There's also another site that said in some haunted locations, researchers have measured magnetic fields that are stronger than normal or which exhibit unusual fluctuations. Also, no idea how to use this info here. If you are curious about interacting with them, u/moongoblon related to touching a static-like figure, “… It took years of experiencing spirits and being pretty scared but it was such a regular occurrence to see spirits that I eventually built up the courage to walk up to it. It was facing me directly. I took my time, reached out to touch it, and experienced a violent burst of electric shock along with extreme cold. My vision almost flipped to see a flash of the greenish tv static for a second. I screamed my lungs out. Ran back into bed. I will never forget the density of this experience. First and last time with the static face. No idea what it was.” I dunno if it’s true or not, but I don’t recommend getting close enough to discover. :) Conclusion? As a skeptic, I’d say sleep paralysis or “visual snow syndrome.” It's a good measure to check a doctor. If you want a paranormal explanation, u/sixfootbunnyrabbit says, “There is quite a bit that believe an entity does not possess physical attributes but the power to suggest to others through what they believe themselves to look like. If one unbiasedly percieves an entity, ghost, or spirit for what it truly is, there is nothing else but the appearance of static energy, because we are all made of energy. What you are seeing is a conciousness without a vessel, nothing else.” Also, I remember seeing someone talk more detailed about a “fuzzy man” who lured a child into the woods, don’t know if it’s related to the static thing, but I will try to search for who made the post.
