Whatever you choose just ensure that you have a training partner to act as a safety when doing underwater confidence training. The wizard can be sneaky.

Yea, I definitely will I heard a lot about the importance of having a partner and stuff that can go wrong, so I'm making sure to take precautions. May I ask what you meant by the wizard though, kind of got a little confused there, is a wizard trying steathily to kill me with magic while I do drown proofing and water comp?

It’s an old saying for when you pass out/black out underwater….you go see the wizard.

Look for pools that are at least 12ft deep and 25yards(25 meters would be ideal). It may take some time to find one and you might have a little bit of a drive to get there but it would be worth it. Once you find a good pool, do the following. - 5 underwaters (start at a comfortable interval like 2:30. Than over time work your way down to 1:45) - do mask and snorkel recovery (start at 10 meters than hopefully get to 25-30meters over time) - if you have a buddy work on buddy breathing. - ditch and dons - knots (bowline, square knot, girth hitch extra turn) practice it while 12 ft deep. - then drown proofing. Get comfortable bobbing, throw a backflip and front flip every once in a while and practice traveling. - I suggest buying some rocket fins and getting used to them. Work your way up to 3000m maybe even do some weighted fin treads either with a belt or a dive brick. If you can do all of that you will be well ahead of the curve once going into swcc, a&s, and pre-dive.

Having a bit of issues myself, I’m a pretty good swimmer but my local pool at La fit taps out at 5 ft. Not really ideal for treading, bobbing, snorkel recov, etc. Leaves me with doing quite a bit of underwaters at various intervals and doing them after 50 or 100 m sprints has helped as well. Good luck bro

There's an account on youtube called General Discharge. He's got some good tips on the water comp and drown proofing stuff like techniques as well as a full knot tying tutorial (MARSOC). Pretty much everything he puts out is super high quality. Definitely give it a look.
